I have had this vet for my dog for the past 4 years. Sadly my Maltese started to not feel himself just wanting to lay down. I took him in and did blood work, urine test, catscan and nothing showed up.so far I am down over $600.00. Then was told that there was a lot of bacteria on urine and had to send the urine out to do more extensive tests because was ALOT of bacteria. I was told was gonna take 5 days for results. In the meantime he started getting worse so dr told me he was having severe seizures and prescribed MORE medication without having a clue on what was wrong with him. I called them back 8 days after regarding the urine to be told there was nothing wrong with the urine and again I am down another $550.00. Unfortunately he got alot worse and had to put him to sleep at 4 years old. What upsets me most is the fact I paid close to $1500.00 to this vet and they would charge me for every examination even days apart for the same problem. I came to the conclusion that this Vet was a BIG cause why our beloved Gizmo is no longer here. Please stay away I don't wish this on my worst enemy.

We brought our elderly cat in for an abscess tooth. I found the doctor to be very professional, patient and transparent. He called me following the blood test results to explain that anesthesia for the surgery was not possible, and that her levels were as such that he believed she was in stage 3 or 4 kidney failure. He took much time in explaining himself about the signs that are present with chronic kidney disease and prognosis. He was compassionate when I took the decision to put her down. I truly appreciate not feeling pressured in any decision, or made to feel guilty. Further, the staff were great with their support during the anesthesia.

We had just adopted our first puppy and we wanted to get acquainted with a good vet in Barrie. We went to Holly Animal Hospital and the vet technician Emily was very helpful and patient with me, as this is my first puppy I wanted to make sure I did everything right. Emily was so helpful and kind helping me with my inquiries and giving me very useful tips on crate training my puppy. It was great to have someone patient and very eager to help me. Now on to the Vet TJ, he was very knowledgeable and patient with answering my questions about my puppy's health and future. He explained in detail which shots were needed at which age and what they did to help my puppy's immunity. I left feeling like these guys had my puppy's best interest at heart. First impressions make a big difference and I was absolutely not disappointed. I look forward to bringing Watson here for years to come.

The reception desk is fairly prompt to answer your requests. The doctor gets on the phone personally which is a nice feature as he is very friendly and informative. Would recommend it if you want to take good care of your pet. They go above and beyond to recommend what the pet needs in terms of shots, boosters, and anything else he might need.

Very Friendly staff. Dr.Kaloti is great! I brought my kitten in who I adopted that had quite a bit of issues. Dr.kaloti has helped me get her back on track to being the playful loving kitty that she is ment to be. The staff is extremely nice, sending me an email between visits to check up on my kitty. Have brought all of my pets in here, from regular visits to emergencies. Techs are knowledgable and staff is usually friendly. It always seems like the Vet doesn't know what is going on with my pets - quick to recommend expensive and unneeded fixes. (foods, procedures, injections, medications). Do not have facilities for 24/7 care, which has also been quite inconvenient. Because of this, I have been sent to emerge and have had to pay 160 dollars just to be seen!

Dr. Kaloti is amazing! I adopted a kitten with a huge head wound and my husband and I nursed him back to health. Another Vet wanted to put him down for no good reason. I brought my cat into Holly Animal Hospital and Dr. Kaloti said there was no reason to put him down as he is a healthy cat. Dr. Kaloti has always been excellent with all of my pets. He is a wonderful Veterinarian and I only take my pets to him. The staff there are also very nice. Thank you Holly Animal Hospital for everything you do.

Administrative staff are always amazing and my review is not reflecting them. However, the vet is so inconsistent with his diagnosis upon every visit for both my cat and dog that I feel I am receiving misguided advice. I had my cat's appointment last month and as I was about to wrap up the visit at the front desk, a man clearly distraught had a bleeding and stunned cat in his arms that he had accidently hit with his car. The vet preceded to try and upsell us on a product instead of tending to the wounded cat. Shortly after, we had an appointment for our dog for behavioural reasons and the vet yelled and hit our dog after yanking the dog’s leg out suddenly in order to get blood work. As I went to post this review, I glanced past one about a dog dying after receiving vaccines from this vet. The vet had replied he had no knowledge of that incident happening and to help him RECOVER FROM HIS AMNESIA. Whether this incident happened or not, how UNPROFESSIONAL to respond in such a way. I will be finding another vet with compassion for animals.

Got my 2 girls spayed a week ago today and the kittens are healing wonderfully. All the staff I have spoken to were very friendly and knowledgeable. 3 days post surgery the vet called to check in which I thought was really nice, most other vets you just speak to the front desk/reception. The prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning( not too soon I hope lol)

Always a pleasure dealing with the team. Easy going and flexible. When I had my dog fixed by the OSPCA clinic she was having a bad reaction to the stiches and when I called the Holly team about it they had us in within 30 min. After exam to make sure not infection etc did what they could and gave us some stuff for it, within a week the reaction was gone and she was back to normal. I couldn't believe how fast they got us in on short notice and didn't up charge. Thanks guys!

They are all super friendly however, I usually get in right away for my appointment but have to wait close to 40 minutes for the veterinarian. I believe there is only 1 vet as I have only seen one within the year and a bit of going here. Do have to say the prices are reasonable, the vet is always going to be expensive but Holly's is reasonable priced compared to some.

This was our first time visiting Holly Animal Hospital. I was very nervous because I could not go in with our pup. Everyone was wonderful reassuring me that Bella would be well cared for. Everything was discussed in advance and when they need to do more, I was called right away. Even with the covid restrictions, the veterinarian had me come in to meet him and he thoroughly explained what was going on with our pup and what to watch for. Prices were reasonable and discussed before hand...no surprises. We will definitely continue with Holly Animal Centre. Here we do not feel like just a number! Thank you!!!

I was in a rush and was able to get in for an appointment the same day. I even showed up 45 minutes early and they accommodated me within 10 minutes. All corona virus measures were in place and the Vet came outside to my car to update me. His communication was clear and easy to understand. An automated system sent me information about Pet insurance which I was going to look into on my own. I ended up getting the pet insurance as well. Overall great experience!

Skippy was taken to Huronia Emergency Hospital on Sunday September 20th and after a very basic examination the veterinarian told me Skippy was severely dehydrated because of a mass on his kidneys and they were failing, and blood tests indicated cancer. My options were surgery to try to remove the mass and if successful, chemotherapy and other treatments to follow, all very costly and unaffordable to me. Euthanasia was my other option. With a heavy heart I brought Skippy home and called Holly Animal Hospital the next morning and an appointment was made for 6 pm that day for Skippy to be euthanized. When we arrived Dr. Kaloti requested that he examine and X-ray Skippy as no imaging had been done. He explained that Skippy’s dehydration could also cause abnormal blood counts, and a blockage in the intestine could also be possible. If that was the case Dr. Kaloti felt Skippy could most likely saved. I agreed 100% as we both had difficulty with the thought of euthanizing such a young and ordinarily healthy and happy cat. Thankfully Dr. Kaloti’s instincts proved to be true, Skippy was admitted and put on IV, surgery performed successfully the next day, and Skippy is now recovering comfortably at home. I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Kaloti and the staff at Holly Animal Hospital for their expertise, care, compassion and kindness towards Skippy, and most importantly, saving his life! Every staff member I was in contact with also treated me with care during such an emotionally upsetting time. Not only will I highly recommend your services, you have already gained a new client from my review of your services. My neighbour was so impressed with my praise of you all that she has enlisted your services and has an appointment this afternoon with her dog Lucy. In closing I would once again like to thank each and everyone of you for your professionalism, compassion, and determination to give Skippy a chance at a long and happy life. May you be forever blessed!

One of the best veterinary hospitals in the province. Amazing and kind staff. Very knowledgeable and helpful team of doctors who are very capable and can handle the worst of issues with your pets. They dispense medicine, vaccinations, handle animal hygiene, and even surgery if needed. Even if your pet buddy has to stay overnight, have no fear as this excellent staff of doctors are more than suited and talented for the job! Dr. Kaloti and the staff team at Holly are caring and responsive to their patients and their families. Bixby has been for so many appointments in the last month that I have lost count. He went from extremely fearful and anxious to increasingly more comfortable in their care. Animals are a barometer for human compassion. The fact that, while undergoing bodily trauma to treat his cancer, Bixby became more relaxed with the team speaks to the degree of their commitment to making animals feel safe and loved. Vet visits are also always stressful for families as well and the team's clear and timely communication has been so helpful through Bixby's surgeries and recovery.

I took my healthy dog for vaccines. Dr. TJ Kaloti administered the vaccine in the wrong spot which paralyzed my dog and a few days later she passed away. When I had called the vet he didnt seem to concerned and said it was an allegic reaction. She had these vaccines a few times before with no reaction. I don't how this guy is still allowed to practice I have heard a few other horror stories of things he has done to other animals. I would stay far away from this vet!!

Bad experience!! Be warned, everything has cost so much more than advertised online. Spaying my cat came to a total of $514 when the online cost said $194. They told me it wasn’t going to be almost $400 when I got there in the morning. My cat survived the surgery so far but I am extremely disappointed in the dishonesty and will not be bringing my animals back. Update: I did NOT agree to purchasing the ecollar after checking my paperwork and it was a small dog size collar anyways, the wrong size for my cat. She could not even use it and it would not stay on.

I recently took my new 3 month old kitten to Holly Animal Hospital and it was such an amazing experience. The staff were all very friendly right from the beginning and the entire way through. The space was very clean, bright, and inviting. All my questions were answered and I never felt like any question I asked was a bad one. They go above and beyond to tell you what your pet may need -- but the final decision was entirely up to me which I very much appreciated. They were very patient and kind with my kitten who was very shy of the new space and people. All the staff were wonderful to chat with. I will definitely be back, bringing not only my kitten but my older cat as well. Wonderful experience all around and I highly recommend Holly Animal Hospital.

We are extremely disappointed with our experience here . Our cat was taken in for vaccinations because we were promised to be booked in for a spay and declaw as we have a new puppy coming and we had been promised that they would go ahead with the surgery but she needed vaccinations first and then she would be booked in. After her appointment we were told we would be put on a wait list which was entirely different to what we were told twice on the phone and have a voicemail of. We understand that there is a pandemic going on , however we truly feel we were deceived . The only reason we were coming for vaccines was because we were told that the doctor has given the consent to go ahead with the surgeries. We are pretty sure routine appointments like vaccinations are also not essential, so why would we be bringing her for that just to be told they can’t do it ? We spent the morning calling all the vets in Barrie and the reason we chose Holly was because we were told they would make an exception because we had a puppy coming into the home. Again we do not expect them to go against government policy , but we do expect decency and we truly feel we were deceived to just get the money from the vaccinations. Then when we picked up our cat, we were handed her and told to find another vet because we were upset on the phone . When it comes to a business running professionally, with integrity and HONESTY this is NOT the place.

I always came here for my cats and there service was pretty great. They are responsive and I could always get a quick appointment. On our most recent visit we asked them to break down the vet bills. They were always super expensive so we started questioning why simple items cost so much. The person who was cashing us out had no idea what the charges were for and they had to run back and forth to figure it out. They claim that they “forgot to charge” us for things from a previous visit. Super inconsistent and definitely not worth paying for the mystery charges they come up with.

I brought in a 19 day old puppy to get her lungs x rayed and have her checked out. I payed close to $300 and was told the x rays were being sent right away to a specialist due to she was so tiny. She was eating and going to the bathroom fine. I was told they would have to results within 4 hours or less and they even made sure they had my numbers to contact me ASAP. Well they refused to contact me and due to not having the results my puppy died. We will never know if we could have saved her due their lack of professional conduct.

If you want to save your animal, please do not go here. We first came to holly Animal hospital on December 13th in concerns to our dog Enzo ( 3 Years old) Enzo had concern of drinking a lot of water and peeing a a lot. After spending $1000 on blood tests and urine sample to tell us everything is ALRIGHT with our dog and to wait 3 weeks to see if he’ll be alright. Fast forward to December 27th our poor dog Enzo, barley made it to the emergency hospital in critical condition with kidney disease. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The stress and anxiety of chasing after this place to let me know my dogs results have made me sick! Unacceptable.

Dr. TJ Kaloti is the real deal. I've been seeing him since I first moved to Barrie nearly six years ago with one dog, and I now have three. He's taken very good care of my boys and knowing how much I love and worry about them as a dog parent, he takes the time to carefully answer any questions I may have and explain in depth the procedures, costs, etc. He's very patient, polite and I respect his passion for what he does. Additionally, the staff who work there have all been very accommodating and work hard at the front desk and behind the scenes. I appreciate them following up afterwards to make sure everything has gone well, and the prices are very reasonable in comparison to other clinics. Definitely recommend.

Completely rude and uncaring about the animals. Told me would be a different amount for the shots then included medication that was never mentioned by the Dr was needed, doubling the price; that I didn’t end up getting as I wasn’t expecting and had to ask them to take off, but it was never mentioned I would need it beforehand as the doctor was in and out very quickly, and did not ask any questions. Staff was rude and all my cat Jaspers nails are split, after only being in the room 15 minutes I was almost out the door before I had to ask if they were going to cut my cats nails.. which is included in the checkup. They then took him back in the room quickly holding him around his neck so he didn’t squirm and that made me feel uncomfortable but I trusted them to cut the nails properly. They weren’t grabbing him by his fur but full on holding there hand around his neck. His nails worse last week but are starting to heal now, wish I could include pictures! It took a month to heal fully and his nails kept splitting down far. Do not recommend if you want to feel comfortable with a vet, we came here as it’s closer to home but will be using our new vet for the future. As well, the day after his vaccinations, Jasper was very weird all day. Laying with his tongue out and looking stunned when you picked him up. Was very worried as he was eating less too. Was a reaction from the vaccines. My other cats did not have such reaction from there booster shots when I took them to my new vet, and I extremely recommended you be careful if your go here.

Highly recommended this clinic. The staff and veterinarian are wonderful! My 13 yr old small dog had very bad teeth. I took him to a clinic in Coldwater where I live and was quoted $3200-$3900 to remove 6 teeth and do a bunch of unnecessary tests. I brought him to Dr. Kaloti for a second opinion. I was quoted about $1300..the surgery was done yesterday and he is recovering well. During surgery it was determined he actually needed a total of 17 teeth removed..much to my chagrin.. Even with the additional teeth the total was only $1500 including bringing him up to date on vaccines and all medications to recover from surgery and a follow up visit in 2 wks. 1/3 of the other quote..without factoring in the extra teeth. Dr Kaloti was excellent in reviewing everything post surgery, including showing us the xrays and explaining what was done.. the girls at the desk even showed us a video they took of one tooth being removed. Gross but very informative. I have nothing but good things to say about this clinic and their staff... Reasonable prices and excellent care! I would highly recommend them!

After reviewing vets and comparing prices I thought I would try Holly Vetrinary Clinic for my Boxer. She was feeling very tired having accidents in the house and I truly believed her time was coming. After making the apt with the Vet he had recommended some tests as it could be something simple. I was very hesitant since I had a horrible experience before and spent thousands and ended up having to put my Boxer down at 11 months. We decided to go ahead with the tests and within 1 day I had the results and they were everything I could ask for. The vet explained everything and gave recommendations and was very caring. My girl already seems to have more energy and is returning to her normal self. The price was very decent for a vet and the service was great!!
