Worst experience I've ever had taking my dog to a vet. I do not recommend them at all. they wanted to run a bunch of tests on my dog set her up on so many different meds when I had only gone there to treat her skin infection. 400$ later her meds don't work and she ended up getting worms from going to the vet!

I have 3 Chihuahua puppies and I wouldn't dream of having anyone else care for them. I don't drive and have moved to other side of town I happily do what I have to in order for big bay vet to be their care provider. You will not find a more helpful and truly caring group of people. I've had animals 40 yrs and they are the only clinic I've ever felt care more about the pets than the money they are going to make from you. I don't think my dogs would be happy to have anyone else looking after them also, they are very particular about who is interacting with them on a normal day so when they're feeling ill and happily go with the staff without a single cry bark or battle I think that says alot. Best choice I've ever made was finding big bay vet Cheyene, Shorty, Hope & Nibbles

Every single member of the team is amazing, and treats our pets as their own. I don’t worry about needless tests or procedures, but also know that if something is recommended, it is the best course of action for our fur babies. They give lots of information to help us make informed decisions. When there is an issue, we get regular phone calls to check on how the patient is doing between appointments. Can’t say enough about them. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

FERRANTS stay away from this animal hospital. I’m sure this place is good for dogs and cats but when I took my ferret here who was 9 weeks old and sick the vet told me he had ECE because of his stool. (Weird looking because of blockage night before) without doing any proper testing. She told me to give him back to a pet store and he was going to die. Felt weird so went to a ferret specialist and my ferret just had a bacterial infection which was treated with a week of antibiotics. Cost me over 800 to get both my ferrets check out by the specialist because I thought they had ECE. Vet was rude as well, only saving grace here was the vet techs who were extremely kind and sympathetic since I was upset thinking my baby was going to die.

Dr. Tania Burrows provided us with care like I have never experienced, and made herself available when it came time to make a tough decision regarding our girl's health. Big Bay Animal Hospital was able to squeeze a spot to see our new puppy Zayda who started to show signs of a skin infection after 2 days of having her. All staff was very friendly and informative. Very reasonable prices. I had brought in a adopted rabbit for a general check up. And they answered all my questions. They even trimed his nails free of charge. Although I dont expect that all the time! Maybe its cause I was first time? Or cause I had just adopted him, but it was a lovely gesture! They also gave me a estimate for getting the little guy fixed. And I was surpised with how low the price was. I was worried with rabbits being an "exotic"pet the price would be high. But nope! The staff voluntered to give her the medication if I could bring her in the clinic .. After 2 long weeks and many visit we unfortunately had to put her to sleep .. My 2 year old daughter was present with me that day .. The wonderful ladies brought her up front and kept her busy and smiling so I could have the time I needed with my sweet little girl .. I used Big Bay Animal Hospital for years while living in the Barrie area. I have brought my dogs and my Uromastyx lizard here. Dr. Burrows was always absolutely amazing with our pets. The staff and vet techs here are so compassionate and caring. I moved to Orillia, so had to get a closer vet, but still use Big Bay when I can or need to. I just had to bring my guinea pig here today as my vet in Orillia doesn't service pocket pets. They were so kind, and fit me in quickly and took great care of my little girl. This is the best clinic I've ever brought my pets to. Great value for money, amazing, knowledgeable staff who are always willing to help you out when you need them.

Not too sure how to write this review as I haven’t gone in with my pet. However based upon calling, like all other businesses it seems as though they just want what’s in your pocket, the girl on the phone, very polite. Also, very vague about the price not too sure what to make about it. Hearing about Dr. Kup from multiple friends of mine, and they’ve all said he’s a grump and not enthusiastic about doing his job. I get it work is work but still it’s another beings life in the hands of a professional in the trade. I’m not too sure if I want to bring my puppy.

We love Dr Burrows she is very gentle and kind with Jack who is 16.5 yrs old. Myself and my husband were very nervous\scared about Jacks day procedure and she really made us comfortable. Our dogs run into the Big Bay Animal hospital every time we are there. At other vets, they stood at the door and would not go in unless they were picked up. This is a sign of an amazing place, with good people who really do love animals. Maurice the cat who lives there always loves a Pat and a treat. Wasn't able to catch either of the ladies names but, the nurse who first helped us get set up was one of the nicest people I've ever met, where as the actually veterinarian that came in seemed much more aggressive and not as polite what so ever. It was my cats first time back at the vet since he was a kitten. He received the recommended shots that the veterinarian had requested. He seemed fine right afterwards, but then passed away two days after. We can't be sure that it was their fault but I just wanted to bring this issue up in case anyone was looking to bring their cat to this animal hospital.

I was very pleased with the care you provided Peaches. I'm not sure how you operated before covid, but making a video using my animal to show me how to administer his medication was amazing. I thought it was going to be a generic video of how to give a shot (needle), but no, it was my animal! The staff was very friendly and took time to answer my questions. I also found the cost of service plus medication provided to be very reasonable. I was also able to get a same day appointment. Not sure if this was because of covid, or if they save some time for emergencies, but I was very appreciative.

All staff is very compassionate and professional. The doctors are very knowledgeable. Choco got neutered at this vet and he had a very fast recovery. My family has been going to BBAH forever. My parents first started going when they first opened their clinic with our family dog. I now take my own family dog to them. They are loving, caring and a wonderful clinic! The vet techs are so helpful and are always willing to answer any questions over the phone. My poor golden retriever puppy decided to eat one of my toddler’s toys causing an intestinal blockage. They performed the surgery and saved our boy’s life!! The pet insurance the clinic recommended covered 70% of the surgery and then the clinic let us do a payment plan to pay the remainder of the bill. I couldn’t imagine the decision we would have needed to make not being able to afford the surgery. They also have text message and email reminders for flea and tick meds, heart worm meds etc. They really take the stress away about managing our family pet’s health care. I would recommend them to anyone!!

I have been bringing my dog to Big Bay for over 2 years and among those two years I have never been anything but blown away with their attentive genuine care for my pet. Even after my dog had been attacked and injured, I never felt like they were pushing unnecessary services to make a penny. Many times I have called the hospital last minute to see if my dog can be seen in an emergency and they are always willing and happy to squeeze us in at some point during that day. I often receive a follow up call to see how my dog is doing!! Where else will you receive this level of service in Barrie? No where. My dog like many others gets really nervous and scared when we have to come to the vet. He is a handful and not always the easiest little guy to deal with it when he has visited. However knowing this, from the moment we walk in to the moment we leave everyone from reception, the techs, and vets make you and my dog feel very comfortable and show that they understand with patience. I live in the very north end of barrie and used to take my dog to a 24 hour hospital in letitia heights. Being disappointed after every visit left me searching for a new vet which reviews like this one lead me to Big Bay and I've never looked back. Don't let the drive to the south end deter you from your pet receiving the absolute best care possible in Barrie. Thank you Big Bay for everything that you have done for Pretzel, I am truly grateful for everything that your clinic has done for us in the last two years! Brought our golden retriever to Dr. Kup and was very impressed. Due to the Covid pandemic they are doing curbside services and when the vet called me after his assessment of our dogs facial paralysis I was impressed. Dr. Kup and his vet tech spent the time to go over all possible scenarios and spent 20 minutes on the phone with me. I haven't met the Dr. in person but felt the care even over the phone. We are pending blood work but I am happy to say we have found our new vet and am egar to see the blood work result to help our pup on his road to recovery. We made an appointment and you broke it. Upon arriving you asked us the same exact information you did when we first called in the day before, then we stood outside for 15 minutes. Your time must obviously be more important than your customers. We accepted your protocol due to the pandemic although if you want to be a successful business I’d advise that you keep your appointments as scheduled and not leave your customers outside wondering if there is anyone working there or if the whole thing was just a joke.

Sarah was by far the most pleasant, informative and patient veterinarian I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I have had nothing but problems with my previous vet, but Sarah took the time to truly analyze my babies issues, and listen to my concerns. The general staff are very friendly and seem to genuinely love animals. I was worried about leaving my girl in strangers hands (curbside, ew) since she is quite anxious but with frequent texts and photo updates, I felt incredibly confident that she was in good, if not familiar, hands. I finally feel like my puppy is on the road to a happy and healthy life and cannot express how relieved I am to find a veterinarian that will take the time to answer every asinine question I may have about the health of my furry baby.

We have been taking our Guinea pigs here for years. One was not feeling well and turns out to be a urinary infection, Jeff did a urine test without mentioning any price. At the end, had to pay a ton of extra money.. Very disappointed they wouldn't even take it off the bill or so. I feel as if we were ripped off.

The staff here are amazing and very accommodating. I brought my rabbit from 2 hours away for another opinion. They preformed tests to rule out lots of problems. I have faith they will be able to figure out all her problems! Making her comfortable is my biggest concern and they did amazing at that. Watching Selena get on the floor with Bun and the scale cause she trusted what I know about my Bunny's behaviour. She does not accept being picked up she refuses to sit still, she may bite and try to jump off the table. Thank you!! We will be in touch again soon!
