Been taking our cat, Ziggy, to the Barrie Animal Hospital since we got him and wouldn't take him anywhere else! Thank you!
Excellent clinic, very friendly, great staff & Vet Dr. was awesome. They even did a follow-up call a week later to see how my pet was doing after the visit. Very caring & thoughtful hospital, will definitely return again if I need help with my pet in the future! ????????
Not happy
They are working very well treating peoples pets while still abiding by COVID guidelines
Super, and caring staff. Excellent Veterinarians. Both staff and doctors really understand that your pet is not just an animal, but a cherished member of your family. Have been a customer for the past 25 years, and never had regrets.
Crappy place. They didn’t want to book appointments for me i ask why? They didn’t even want to tell me. Lady on the phone doesn’t know how to treat customers.
Wonderful caring staff, great prices!
Mark and his staff are the only team I would ever trust with. my dog. Experience and skill matter, and reasonable rates are the cherry on top. Best veterinary clinic I have ever been to. I highly recommend them
Very Friendly????????
These guys are amazing, we have been going here for over 15 years.
I brought my Beagle there when he was attacked by another dog. He needed staples and sedation. I was nervous and sad for my dog. There is a girl working there who is FANTASTIC. She is so kind and strong. I needed that big time. Her name is JC or something. Maybe CJ. It's two letters anyway. I didn't think they could handle my Beagle, but she is good. He was abused before me and gets scared and could bite if pushed too far. They were done in honestly five minutes. No muzzle! They used a light sedation that took 15 mins to work. Clean, shave, staples and cone on in (not even kidding) five minutes. We did initially wait three hours to see the doctor though. They are good, but busy. They go by TRIAGE order which makes perfect sense. BARRIE IS THE CLOSEST 24/7 EMERGENCY VET AROUND.
I made a sincere call about our chihuahua and they did more than they could to accommodate me on the same day. I have received calls from the vet checking up afterwards and I appreciate the sincerity of his professional service
Quick and thorough service.
Excellent care and compassion. Recommend.
This is the only place that has been adopted by local strays and kept them on staff for years!! My cat adores His Dr and the human staff. Services, prices and availability/flexibility are awesome.
Amazing and well trained staff, they're amazing with pets and the services are relatively inexpensive.
Knowledgeable, reasonable, good with my dog, and fixed him right up in first visit. To previous commenter re: Doogans PET store, this clinic was right to criticize as Doogans now sell poor little pups and kittens from "accredited" (mystery) breeders, unlike most other pet stores who choose to avoid supporting disguised mills and home breeders. In a more ethical pet store the dog and kittens would not be there in the first place, never mind left unprotected overnight waiting for some lockpicking yokel to come in and steal them for who knows what gate. Kudos to this clinic for holding the line.
We had been customers of this vet hospital since 1998. So we have been customers for almost 20 years. Our first dog Roxi was seen by the vet there since 1998 until her death in 2006. In 2004 Roxi developed a growth in her front armpit and the vet assured us it was only a fat nodule and was nothing to be worried about. As time went on the growth got bigger but not to alarming proportions. Every time we took Roxi in I asked the vet "are you sure this growth is safe"? Each time I was assured it was nothing to worry about, that it was only a fat nodule. Then one day Roxi had a misstep and ruptured the so called fat nodule and was dead in less than 24 hours. It turns out the so called fat nodule was in reality a cyst and her misstep had ruptured the cyst. About 6-7 months after Roxi's death we got another dog we called Leo. Leo is now almost 14 years old. Last year we started to notice a change in him and took him to Barrie Animal Hospital for assessment. We were told by Dr. Choles that Leo was "just getting old. We took Leo in a number of times to Dr. Choles and were told the same thing over and over again, that he was just getting old. Finally, we took him in once again but Dr. Choles was not available so we had to see another vet. This vet decided to take an xray to check Leo out properly. This vet discovered a growth in Leo's abdominal area the size of a human kidney! This was after I had pointed out on one visit to Dr. Choles that I could see and feel a growth in my little boys stomach. Dr. Choles felt the same area where I, a layman could both see visually and feel the growth and again declared him physically OK, just old. This is after we has spent close to $2000 in diagnostic fees over a period of a few months. After he was finally correctly diagnosed we rushed him to Guelph Veterinary hospital within hours of correct diagnosis and he was operated on two days later to remover the growth. We have had him on chemo-therapy and other meds but to no avail. It is now January of 2019 and Leo will die within a couple months at best. If he had been properly diagnosed at the outset he may have well survived this ordeal but with substandard, incompetent care he has been sentenced to a painful death due to improperly diagnosed cancer and the financial cost of thousands of dollars. So if you don't care about your pet and don't care about the quality of your pets health care then by all means take them to these incompetent so called doctors. If you do care about your pet then find any other pet hospital but this one. In closing you may ask yourself why would this person take his new pet to the place that caused his old pets death? The answer is that we were seeing a different vet and assumed that the care would be better, especially in light of the fact that they had misdiagnosed Roxi's so called fat nodule and inadvertently caused her death. Always keep in mind that we had to suffer the loss of 2 very much loved pets to learn our lesson. This vet hospital is employing incompetent doctors!
Excellent and trustworthy staff, veterinarians are well knowledge and have no problem explaining in detail the best options! Does not have to cost you an arm an a leg for the best care for your furbabys, would highly recommend this animal hospital as they are welcoming, friendly, supportive and extremely helpful!! Xena is always so excited to go in and visit, she is greeted with a big smile and a treat ! She is comfortable in the waiting room and in the examination room! The vets make her feel comfortable while being diagnosed or for her routine checkups! They are excellent at reminding you when it's time to come for a visit! Love this clinic and my family is pleased with everything we have encountered here so far! New fur baby owners and the experience here is wonderful
I have 5 pets and have been using Barrie Animal Hospital for almost 20yrs. I trust the doctors and staff and the price is fair.
I absolutely LOVE Dr. Kamrani and the vet techs that work here! They are some of the best people I have ever met! We have been through so much with them and they are always patient, kind, and incredibly compassionate! Thank you❤
I brought my cat to the Barrie Animal Hospital for a wellness check recently and was very pleased with my visit! The staff were very kind, organized and safe due to covid. Upon arrival I was told to wait in the parking lot and they came out and picked up my cat. It only took about 15 minutes. The veterinarian spoke to me on the phone and was very helpful with any questions/concerns I had.
We bring molly here for check-ups and for her ringworm medications, I trust this animal hospital for all my needs with molly. Great Job!
Dr. Al is so kind and thorough. He never makes us feel rushed and has wonderful suggestions for us. He doesn't immediately order a lot of expensive tests or puts your animal through unnecessary trauma. We feel very fortunate to have found this clinic and Dr. al.
Great staff.
If I could give more than five stars I would. I was super worried about my kitty as he hadn't been to the vet in a long time and I was nervous he would be scared without me in the exam room. The staff was super understanding and very friendly. Milo came out healthier and completely content, not scared or traumatized at all like I was expecting. They were very thorough with his care an answered any and all questions I had. I will definitely be bringing my kitty back for the rest of his health care needs.
Great experience there. Vet was honest and caring to my pup!
Great service. Very thoughtful, thorough and reasonable.
We've been taking our dog to Barrie Animal Hospital for 3 years now. Very thorough and friendly. Unlike some vets, they don't expect you to pay for expensive tests for otherwise healthy animals.
Healthy fast food!!
From the moment you enter the front door of this establishment, you can see the warmth that resides here. On the immediate left of the reception counter, there is a candle which burns when someone experiences the loss of their pet. I find this to be very moving. The service is very good as well, however, like all veterinarians, the price can be steep. That just comes with the territory. Friendly people, and great service.
Wouldn't trust any other practice to care for our pets. They truly are great people that care for animals. They have proven this to us a few times that they actually care about the animals and not the dollar.
Great vet, they take the time to listen and address concerns. They truly do care about your animals.
Took me immediately for an emergency and did a fabulous job patching up my dog.
Best place in Barrie for animal care. Not very fancy, but who needs a boutique veterinarian? All the staff care about my animals, and it shows.
I had a great experience and the doctor even kissed my dog!.
took such good care of my pup thanks
Friendly and knowledgeable.
I had transferred both of my dogs files from Holland Landing because of relocation to Springwater. We had our first visit - during Covid restrictions - The dogs had an overall wellness check and rabies vaccine. The doctor spoke with me after both, and was well informed. I was given recommendations. All in all the staff and Dr. Kamrani met my expectations. I am very familiar with different clinics since I travel and move frequently. Randy
Felt very comfortable there for both of us and my cat. Dr. Was very nice. Great follow up as well. My first choice from now on!!
Best very in Barrie!
Took the Kitty in for shots!! Good service, nice staff, all good!
Fast and very friendly
the staff are awesome here! Always take great care of our furry family.
The care our Addie dog received at Barrie Animal Hospital on Dunlop St in Barrie, Ont. has been excellent. The assistants are lovely and caring. The doctors communicate fully and provide detailed explanation, as well as respectfully acknowledge the intelligence and concerns of their patients family. The costs are very reasonable compared to many other corporately run veterinary hospitals. The love and care the members of their team, have for our furry children, is evident in all they do. Toby Razauskas
I have dealt with Stephen for years and I can say that he operates with 100% integrity. He is always looking for ways to improve things.
Always kind and caring. Even in these COVID times they are quick to respond to look after our furry family members. Great people.
The best vet in town
Very positive experiences thus far with my puppies care. Thorough and communicative staff and Veterinarian's. They even took the time to follow up on my puppy when he had to have an emergency visit at another clinic. Very satisfied and I would definitely recommend.
Great place! we have been taking our pets here since 2005 and have a had a great rapport with them. They are reasonable priced and great staff!
Best vet experience I've had. Called and was able to get an appointment on the same day and they were very nice to deal with. Priced very well too, normally feel ripper off when I leave a vet and didn't this time.
Most honest Veterinarians I’ve encountered. The fur babies matter most to them and and that’s where my fur babies will be. Thank you for all your care with Coco and Auston
The vet is very caring and does not recommend needless tests just to make money
Very friendly
Barrie animal hospital is the greatest. They are so quick to accommodate my Blue Heeler. I am always so comfortable coming here. Recommend 100 times over. Price are very reasonable
We appreciated the care and concern taken due to the virus we only picked up pills for fleas and ticks but 0ver the years we've found the service to be good.
I used to love this place, it was the only animal clinic my family and I trusted for over 20 years. Then new owners took over with no regard or warning for all of the loyal customers. Prices seemed to sky rocket overnight :( It was very evident this place quickly turn into pure business $$$$$ and less about the animals and owners. I saw happy faces from staff we grew to know and trust turn into sad and stressed with a lot of staff changes. our favourite girl left in the fall. The finale for me was suddenly stopping family discounts which we really appreciated because again it showed they appreciated our business. 2 dogs 2 cats one being diabetic. nail trims stopped being included in appointments when I was spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars here every visit. This forced us to start shopping around for a new vet. I miss the old barrie animal hospital but will not be returning.
Thanks to Dr. Al and vet tech Caitlyn for taking care of our sick dog. Reporting was often and thorough and I know they take great care. Highly recommend. Thanks to everyone at Barrie Animal Hospital. Special shout out again to Caitlyn, a true friend to your sick animal.
They take great care of the animals and have reasonable prices for the services.
Honesty is key when dealing with your pet.
Great experience all around 1st visit and 2nd visit was good. Only complaint on 2nd visit was vet techs attitude. I understand it being a Fri of a long weekend and you want to get home, but we could really deal without the snarky and condescending attitude ????♀️ The Vet himself was amazing and very helpful!! I have had 2 different doctors here so far and they have both been amazing.
Never pushing unneeded treatments or drugs. Just solid diagnosis, followed by realistic recommendations.
Always great care for my fur baby...
Growing up, my family has always brought our pets here. Now that I have a dog of my own I will only bring her here. They’ve always been so kind and professional with our pets and seen us through some complicated procedures/issues.
My dog and cats go here
Exellent
I take my 2 dogs and cat here. I recently moved from Toronto where I had a very hard time finding a vet that i had confidence in (I did find one though). After reading up on many local vets, i came here. I've dealt with both vets in this clinic and am very happy with the care they provide. The vet techs are amazing as well. I highly recommend this vet clinic
First time with our new puppy. Very friendly staff. Complimentary first visit. Would recommend.
Three things made simple, integrity, caring, and professional. This office goes way above and beyond.
They are always wonderful to us and our pets. Especially now when we must trust them to handle them alone.
Awsome, what else can I say. Always a great experience for my pets...of course.
On Monday morning I called Barrie Animal Hospital out of desperation to have my beloved dog Toby to get a second opinion as he was not doing well as he was deteriorating rapidly. I explained to the receptionist that on Sunday I had no choice but to take Toby O'Sullivan Animal Hospital since its 7/24. The receptionist put me on hold and got back on the line to tell me next available appointment they had for Toby was for Wednesday. She game be a BS story that they were busy with 2 surgeries that Monday. I tried to explain he would not make until then and then she advised to take him to O'Sullivan Animal Hospital . Toby has been a patient of Barrie Animal Hospital since he was a pup, he passed away on Monday afternoon. Thanks Barrie Animal Hospital, I lost my beloved dog, you are NOT to be counted on for emergencies.
Always so helpful, kind and understanding. As our animals have aged and we're ready for a gentle passing they were so compassionate. Now that we have pups they are a wonderful group as a whole. Always happy to see Moose and Cleo.
I have been going to this animal hospital for about 10 years. Not once have I ever had a bad experience and they always have the most friendly people willing and waiting to help. I would highly recommend them to anyone as they were recommended to me. They have helped me when I couldn't make full payments as a student and always there to support any animal of any kind.
I have been the client of Dr. Stephen Choles(DVM) at this clinic for 2 years and forced to leave it for the following reasons. First, I faced an unappropriated customer care in his clinic. He did the surgery for my cat three times!!! Actually, he redid it because initially he has done it with mistakes. However, he refused to recognize his mistakes and charged me every time again. Second, while UTI symptoms of my cat, he hasn’t done any testing, just charged for exam and prescribed some medications. These medications didn’t affect somewhat. In 10 days after visit of this doctor, we were forced to go to another clinic for the same problems and were charged again for the treatment. I will never go back to this clinic.
I bring my Bernese mountain dog Oakley here, and I have always had a good experience! The doctors and front staff are all super friendly as Well!
They are absolutely amazing. Take amazing care of my girl Akeira. I'll be taking all my pets when they are due for shots.
Dr Al and his staff are awesome.
Absolutely amazing experience with Barrie Animal Hospital. They take care of our dog and cat with care. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You can tell they are there to take care of animals first, business is second. Not the other way around. They have done everything to help with ourrour visits and never price gouged. Never have a seen a clinic give so much effort and care into helping the animal in need. 5/5 recommend to anyone looking for a new veterinary clinic.
Very friendly and helpful
This vet is dr ripper, DO NOT take your pet here, they only care about how to get the most money from you without even telling you the price and say they will take 2 xray and take 4, charge you for SET UP FEE for Xray ontop of XRAY charges, ridiculous and in the end says does not know whats wrong??? What were the so many xrays for? Why did you not tell me that you are going to give sedative to my yorkie prior to xray and costs $79?? After everything, tells you to go to the Emergency Hospital??? So you can pay the Vet there again and then pay for more xrays and surgeon? For what if you do not know. I had seen 2 vets, one in FL and one in Newmarket and wanted to confirm my yorkie had an ACL tear. He could have told me after examining him that yes or no she has a tear and not charged me for xrays as all the Vets state xrays DO NOT show an ACL tear so he just did it to get the money, charged $405 for xray and visit !!!!!!!!!! Terrible, your pet will be tramautized here do not go please., you will not get answers, rather take your pet elsewhere or to the ER.
Best place
Best animal hospital I've ever been to. my family moves a lot for work and this place is top notch. compassion and professionalism at its finest. They saw us through a really tough time. you will not find better doctors and staff in the GTA. (or prices! trust me I've shopped around)
Wonderful and caring staff and medical teams. They take good care of you and your pets and I'd recommend them to anyone
Stephen Choles is a quack, admin staff was very nice about our awful experience with the vet.
Good rates and very friendly and professional.
Great service. Vet explains everything and they really care about my dogs.
If I could give a lower rating I would I made two appointments to get my dog neutered, had a pre-surgical checkup talked to the vet. First time I called in they said I was not scheduled, so I remade the appointment, second time I go in on the day he was booked again at 8:00 a.m. after checking with the vet and assistant that I was good to go and that he was scheduled. I go in morning of and they tell me again he is not booked. Most unprofessional vet office I have ever been to.
This is the absolute best animal hospital out there. Amazing staff and doctors. Highly recommend!
Very friendly service
The veterinarians at this clinic are great. The front staff and and office manager are unprofessional and rude. Unfortunately we won't be going back because of the office staff, it's too bad because we really liked the vet.
When in need its the place to go.
No personal service, to exoensive
Excellent care. Compassionate and honest. Best ever
Staff are always friendly and professional. Have been bringing my pets for over 15 years.
Save yourself the problems you will have with these people down the road and DO NOT go to this place. They were our family vet for years and since the new management took over, and our wonderful vet left, this place is awful. Changed overnight. The office manager should treat people respectfully. The entire establishment leaves me wishing I had never spent so much money over the years. Cranky staff should not be speaking to customers the way they do. Also, the new vet, dr bolton I believe, did not even come meet me at our final appointment at that place. New vet, doesn’t want to meet clients in person?? Stay away from this place, there are better vet clinics that offer exceptional service, as well as very caring veterinarians in this city.
I great place to take your pets. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable.
They are so friendly, kindest people to not only to the animals however, also to the "parents" . signed Penelope Pineapple.
First visit last week with our pup. Super friendly staff and our puppy really took to the vet. Wish we came here sooner. 10/10 and highly recommend.
would not trust any other vetenarians in the area. hard to find good help when it comes to my dog. very happy with this location
We have been going here for years. The front staff are awesome, the vet is always friendly. I only ever had one issue with them, but we worked through it and they really do a good job. We had to euthanize our cat and they were awesome once the day came. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
Best vet I have ever been to for my dog Charlie.
Told my friend that she needs to find another vet as was unable to attend appointment. She's on oxygen therapy. She was having a bad day breathing .I called in before the appointment to re book .got the answer phone left message for call back .took them 2 days to call .disgraceful service.
Caring staff who don’t gouge you like some vets do for $$$. They take the time to actually examine your pet if there’s a problem rather than just give you meds and send you out the door with a $500 bill. Would recommend this vet!
I’m a first time client as I just moved to Barrie. I brought my kitten Dexter to get his shots and neutering and the doctors and staff were nothing but kind and extremely helpful! My kitty came home happy after surgery and not scared at all! They really know how to take care of animals with love and patience. I then brought my aggressive Chihuahua to get her shots and nails done and they were so patient with her and again she came home happy and feeling good! Thanks so much guys for going above and beyond!! And thanks for also explaining everything so thoroughly!
Very bad experience. I always go to the hospital but from couple of my visits they charge my extra without bringing to my notice that they will charge me for these services. I dnt want to mention here the services but strictly this would not be happen in the future just make sure I am so disappointed with the service and i am not going back here
Stephen Choles is a quack, he is unprofessional and does not handle criticism very well. My dog died under this man's care...stay away from this place! If only people knew how evil this man is. He up charged me for a simple procedure... when I questioned him, he threw the receipt right at my face and walked away. Thank you for not caring he is evil. I tried to call Barrie animal hospital to clarify several billing mistakes by dr. Steven Choles.I was cold fronted buy a cold receptionist. Dr. Steven Choles did not want to speak to me directly and ignored my requests for my pet to be reviewed for a simple procedure. My loyal pet died under this mans care. Grieving..... words cannot explain my loss.
I just went through the hardest time, making the decision very quickly to have our beloved pup Georgie put down. The team here at the hospital are very open and supportive. They were very calm and gave me all information I needed and some to help make my choice. They were amazing all the way through the process and afterward. I would never have wanted it any other way. I know my girl got the best care.
