On August 3rd, We had to put down our beloved 7 year old lab. We had been told 3 days prior that she had lymphoma and she went downhill extremely quickly. When we arrived at Aldergrove, Dr. Lauren did a full assessment and with sincere kindness, sympathy and professionalism, told us that the best thing we could do for her would be to end her suffering. Dr. Lauren, was willing to put our girl down wherever we were most comfortable and at ease. Such a difficult time was made slightly less traumatic by Dr. Lauren's compassion and professionalism for us and our girl. We can not express enough thanks to Dr. Lauren and the whole Aldergrove team.

We recently moved to the area and after reading reviews on every vet around we chose Aldergrove to bring our dog to for her yearly vaccines/check up. The customer service was awesome from all staff we interacted with. They asked several questions in order to get to know our dog and easily answered any questions we had as well. Our dog is very shy and anxious when it comes to vet visits and they treated her so well. Very calming and friendly. We had Dr. Martin who was absolutely amazing with our girl and blew our expectations out of the water! I have never seen a vet interact with her the way he did. So much love and care. His passion for animals was very evident. This was only our first time here, but if every time is like this we will continue to be clients.

I don’t want to get into the whole story, but just know that due to the lack of resources and improper equipment my dog died. I felt robbed of my best friend before his time and the lack of sympathy on the doctors behalf was very upsetting. I will not be bringing my other dog to them. The only people that showed sympathy were the reception at the front desk. They are overpriced and if you want to take your chances on this facility that is your decision, but as of now I will be seeking a new vet.

Really great staff here. I’m new to Barrie and I can definitely recommend this vet. First time bringing in my cat Jack and I cannot be happier with how well they treated him. I called them in the morning asking if they could take a look at Jack because he was peeing blood. They got me in the same day even though they were extremely busy. He was happy and feeling 10x better when I picked him up that night. Now he’s on a better food and so much happier.

I can't say enough good things about these guys. From the vet techs, to the vets themselves, all of them do a fantastic job and really care about every pet they treat. The cost of vet visits are often times a deterrent for taking your pet in for help when needed. These guys will work with you on payment plans if needed. Very accommodating and understanding that pet ownership is very very expensive sometimes!

I have been taking Sam to Aldergrove Animal Hospital since he was a puppy and I cannot imagine trusting his care to anyone else. Everyone from the staff, vet techs to Veterinarians go above and beyond and truly care about the animals and the owners. They do follow up calls to see how Sam is doing after a visit there, they spoil him with love and attention to ease his anxiety of being there, they take the time to explain things and never make me feel silly for questions or concerns that I have, no matter how trivial. Sam is now 7 and even though we moved over half an hour away we still continue to make the drive there for all our vet needs. Everyone there is amazing but I would like to make special note to Amanda and Dr. Hibbs. They are like family to us now and I know I can speak for Sam in saying that he loves them very much!

The very young blond at the front counter should not be there. She must be related to somebody who owns the place because that girl is self-admittedly dumb as a post. When I asked her which bag was cheaper the smaller or the larger bag she did not know how to do the math and then just giggled like you see in the movies how the dumb blondes do. Honestly I fear for the future of our society when somebody can be in grade 11 or 12 and can't figure out a simple percentage or divide the weight of a bag by the price and compare the two different bags that way. When I pointed out to the staff member that was little older how bad she was at math the blonde once again giggled as if oh I'm cute don't worry about me I'll just find somebody Rich to take care of of me. I was actually ashamed for this girl.

The doctor at this clinic is great! He's very gentle and caring with my dogs. I was very late to my appointment due to scheduling conflict and the doctor still made time to take both the dogs in and work with the covid protocols. Filled out new client registration online. As I understand the pandemic has made veterinary care very busy I awaited a response. After 7 days I called and was advised they are no longer taking clients. I believe the new client registration form should be closed on the website and a notice should be available so peoples time is not wasted like mine was. The administrator also could not provide a recommendation for other vets in the area. Dr. Martin cared for our Labrador Retriever a number of years ago and he was excellent. Thoroughly disappointed in the lack of communication.

My cat was in labour but there was a complication and they were the closest vet (to me ) that was open on Sunday, when I went in I explained what was going on and you could hear that my cat was in pain but they turned around and said "you need to go to the veterinary hospital because we close in an hour and we don't know how long this will take"

Back in the summer we brought our puppy to this clinic because we accidentally dropped a cherry tomato on the floor in our kitchen and our pup beat us to picking it up and ate it. She soon after started getting really sick and was acting like she was drunk the way she walked. When we got there we told the Vet what happened. Then she told us that eating a tomato wouldn't have done anything and multiple times asked us if she got into any drugs. It was insulting really because this question was asked a couple times and asking if she got into anything else. Then after that was telling us that she could have something wrong with her nervous system and told us we should do blood work and that if she's still like this we should bring her to a neuro vet or start thinking about the quality of life. I was balling as we just got her and couldn't believe this was happening and the combination of feeling so insulted as she made us feel like she didn't believe us at all. We ended up getting the blood work done which cost us $100. Our puppy is fine and started to feel better later that evening. Since then we have found a wonderful vet clinic. We brought up what happened to them and without even examining our puppy at the time it was happening, they knew EXACTLY what had happened and said that tomatoes are very acidic and that it was like a volcano in her stomach. They told us we didn't need that blood work and that it was as simple as that. I couldn't believe it. I would not recommend ever going there. I still can't believe the experience we had there. Absolutely horrible.
