The vets and staff at VCA Eastside pet vet are absolutely fantastic. They really take their time to listen to your concerns and explained everything in detail. While they are a little bit pricier than some of the other vets in the area, you definitely get what you pay for in this situation. Definitely recommended.

My dog has a bladder infection. I took in a urine sample, to have a urinalysis done, for $75, and I was told that it looked pretty bad and to put her on Marbofloxacin (Zeniquin,) a strong antibiotic, for 2 weeks, at a cost of $225. Afterwards I took another sample in, for another urinalysis, for another $75, to make sure the medication worked. I was told the test was "inconclusive," they couldn't tell if she still had an infection, but there might be bacteria resistant to the antibiotics she was on, the container I collected the urine in might be slightly contaminated, or it could be nothing, and I should get a culture taken, for $157. Basically they heat up the urine and see what bacteria grows. The culture was inconclusive as well. So they tell me to bring her in and they can draw urine for another urinalysis, for $100, since the initial sample might have been contaminated. Well why wasnt I told to bring her in to have urine drawn originally??? If that's how you get a clean sample, that should have been the 1st option!!! Why did I pay $75 for a urinalysis and $157 for a culture, only to come back for another $100 urinalysis because you can do it more sterile in the clinic??? That's $232ish I spent just to be back at square one. Every time I call for test result I am told "We are really busy, a vet will call you back." Then I receive a call around 8:30pm, after hours, too late to pick up medication. That's fine but I am working afternoons this week and they have to leave a message. So after calling at 10am, and receiving a return call at 8:10, while I'm working, the message was "call us back tomorrow." I believe I should have been given some information in the message considering I can never talk to a vet when I need to... I have had nothing but issues with them trying to sap money in the past, and when I receive my test results today, this will be the last time I deal with them. The only reason I am still here is because I started the testing here, so they, "supposedly," know her situation. But, when my cat was sick last week I went to another vet, and both my dogs will be finding a new vet. I wonder if this sort of thing is why they changed their name recently? Even though the building still sports their old name.

Good service. For small things they are fine, have a nice facility. However they can be on the pricier side for things other than shots, flea treatments. I went in for a common uti and ended up paying over $1700 for all the work needed, including xray, ultrasound. They were extremely pushy in doing the same tests over and over again. After I decided to do a urine test again, they said I needed to do another special urine test for protein.

Pet Vet is not our regular vet but we had an emergency with our old dog Shadow and she needed immediate attention and we happened upon Pet Vet. Their staff was fantastic. Our dog needed to be put down and they made the experience as good as it could have been. A beautiful quiet room with blankets and a very "non clinical" setting. Caring staff. I can't thank them enough for their help and professionalism during this awful time. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.

They have been my vet for many many years. Got recommended by a friend to bring my dogs here. They have ALWAYS been so great to my fur babies. I gave them 4 stars because I find their prices to be very high compared to many other clinics I know of in the city. I wouldn't want to change where I go, because the vets there are all very knowledgeable and very kind. They do however try to be as honest with you, but can also find ways to make you spend more money than you should. That could be a tactic, that could be their own judgement, but as an animal owner, it's really your choice to make. They won't ever push you, they give you options, which I appreciate. The clinic is always very clean, and the staff are always very friendly. Just the prices could be lower. Just my opinion ????

An excellent experience even during the Jan 2021 Lockdown. Parking lot spaces are numbered and have phone details for when arriving. Easy, safe, and still friendly service! I'm glad I decided to try them as my new vet. This was my first visit and I highly recommend it now that I've experienced it personally. Rates were standard which felt like a great value since the professional services in the exam room were exceptional.

I have always had a very positive experience at Pet Vet. I adopted a rescue cat named Sindee at Pet Vet and just recently a rescue at Animal Control which I named Peaches. Both cats have had the privilege of being looked after at Pet Vet. Starting from the warm reception at the front desk to the kind and gentle manner that the Veterinarians have given my cats, I am very satisfied. I need to update this review to mention that I adopted a Chihuahua 3 years ago and he receives care there as well. They are so good to him, so caring and supportive. He had to have major surgery last year and they were there every step of the way with continued updates and pictures of his progress. It was so comforting to me. They are also upfront and transparent regarding any fees that are involved. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to have you as our Vet Hospital!

I have been taking my dog here since she was just a wee little pup, the staff here are excellent. They take excellent care of their patients and I have never had a problem here, I've gone to several other vets for emergency situations while this vet was closed and I was never as satisfied as I am with VCA Canada Eastside Hospital. Thank you for everything you do! Can I suggest a 24 hour clinic? Pups need your love during the night as well!

I own a Giant Alaskan Malamute. She is Prone to hot spots sad to say. I have tried many vets and this is the 1 i will now use from now on. Let me explane my experience, 1st all of all my dog loves people but hates other dogs strongly. I told them this and they said not a problem they booked me at 7 30 last appt of the day. Even more so the second i went it they let me take my dog in to a private room to wait for the vet so there was no issues with Akaya(my dog) being aggressive to other pets leaving the building. The vet looked at may dog and discussed the problems and treatments. He left for 5 minutes than returned with paper of everything he would do and what it would cost. Once i felt happy and comfortable with what he wanted to do i signed the papers. To my surprise i did not have to stay and or assist in any manner of her care. He took her to another part of the building with his staff to care for her. with in 15 min i see her around the corner with a big smile. He had saved her bum, Cleaned the area very well and applied a antibiotic lotion. More over he even gave have her shot of antibiotics to help the healing. When it was all done he gave me a prescription to give her. Took less than a week and she is back to perfect health. Total Cost was $ 250.00 It could have been cheaper but i payed $30 for the 1 week return check up in advance. They also offer the cream he applied in large tubes for around 49.99 You cant get this from a pet store only a vet and it worked wonders. Now if she gets a hot spot i can shave and clean t my self with the cream. Only very rare or bad cases do i need to go in for them to fix it. Amazing experience, staff was friendly and everything worked very well. I highly recommend to any 1 needing a new vet.

Booked a "free vet visit". They found a hot spot on my dog and because of that my dog is not "healthy" so I had to pay $115 to get him back. I came from out of the city for this FREE visit, confirmed by email and phone it was free first. I am disabled and wouldn't have wasted my time or money otherwise. My normal vet charges $75 for a checkup. I would have gone there but was trying to save money during a pandemic as I'm on ODS0. I feel duped.

Very bad! Staff can handle small animals ( maybe) but not big "Alfa" dogs (vets are scared of them). Took my dog for annual check-up, just to have nothing done to him. Still had to pay the bill, but my dog did not receive any examination. On top of everything front desk staff is very rude, and temperamental.

Wait time was a little excessive but overall great staff who took amazing care of my cat. They really care about every animal that comes in. I truly appreciated that the vet gave me many options and steps to take to identify what was wrong with my cat Charlie and I'm pleased to say that the problem has greatly improved and really appreciated that she followed up personally on how the medication was working.

Took my cat here from when she was a kitten and for a few years after that (Due to me moving often I had a few vets). Although the 1st time she did have fleas, after that she was still itchy and we were wondering what it could be . They gave us flea medication for years without even checking if she had fleas. I eventually met my amazing vet who said, "let me check it may not be fleas." And guess what!? It never was. She had an allergy. Also, they are very pricey.

I absolutely love out Vet hospital for our precious Chalupa!!! Everyone of their staff members are kind and caring. They go above and beyond with a smile on their face! I definitely love the reminder texts or calls they offer,and the texting help line just in case you are worried about your pets health in that moment. Very clean facility and although we are lucky not to have to go in for anything serious for our chuchu, we did have her get fixed and that went so smoothly. All in all, a great bright place to bring your fur babies. I'm so grateful we live close by to call Eastside Animal Hospital our own!!!! Thanks

Terrible customer service !!! No regard for a clients time. If you pay for a care package or plan, you will never get an appointment and will still have to pay to take your pet some where else. You can book appointments weeks/ months in advance only to be called 6-10 times to rebook for a different time or cancelled all together. You can be in the car driving to an already scheduled appointment and they will call and cancel while you are in route to them !!! Called for a bee sting emergency and was told they have too many appointments and to take her some where else! Called for a limp had to wait 5 days and only got my pet in because she had an already scheduled appointment from the month before. They constantly cancel appointments or leave message that they are moved to very inconvenient times and every receptionist tells you different information or gives you the run around ! Very sad because the vets are nice but the company is terrible and only seems to care about volume and profit !

I trust them with my Jax, he's been through alot lately with his surgery for a fractured femur, Dr Carol was amazing with us, and referred us to an amazing emergency surgeon who helped my baby. 4 days post OP, and my boy is slowly coming around to his old self. The techs are really wonderful with my timid puppy and she has no problems going in with them for contactless visits and the vet is very good and thorough on the phone. In person was also a good experience. We see Dr. Hickey normally and Dr. Scott looked at her when she was sick and checked up on her later as well. No complaints.

Staff is amazing. I bring my Doberman in for braiding sometimes and have 0 issues. Only thing I can say is that the prices are extremely high. It cost more for the vet to say my dog looked fine than the actual shots...........

I would like to thank everyone at VCA Eastside for taking good care of our dog Kali. She suffers from cluster seizures and everytime I will bring her here. They always made our dog better and made sure she is getting proper treatment for her seizures. I cannot tell you enough how many times they saved our dogs life. We trust them 100% and and I am hopefull that we are able to extend Kalis life and it as comfortable as can be with their help. Their staff are very friendly and compansionate about what they do. The doctors are very knowlegeable and amazing with animals. Once again thank you very very much!!!!!!

We didn't use the vets in the clinic - but boarded our dog there, which was the worst experience we've ever had boarding anywhere. Our 6 year old St. Bernard, when we picked her up her bed was soaked in urine and so was she...they were supposed to give her a bath on her last day - but did not; nor did they have any explanation for why she was being returned to us this way. I took her out side and could not stand the smell of the dog bed - so I took that in and asked them to launder it, and I would pick up later - and then proceeded to go home - and on my way realized that our dog being returned like this was not acceptable, her collar metal hardware had rusted from being exposed to the urine! I called the manager to explain my dissapointment and unhappiness. They offered to bath the dog, explained that what happened wasn't normal and they were sorry. I returned to the clinic with the dog, for her to get a bath, no one in the reception or the management came to offer an apology for my bad experience there. I still feel terrible wondering how long my dog had to sit in a urine soaked kennel. She's never had an accident before her stay here - or since returning home...I've waited 6 months to post this review - as I was too upset to post in February. I would not recommend leaving my dog there - under any circumstance.

This place is overpriced. The only reason I continue to get my get services here is because I have been with Dr.Humble for years. Before the rebuild the prices were a lot more accommodating to those with lower income. This place is now overpriced and overcrowded.

Been going here for years since I owned rabbits and was in search of a local vet who dealt with small animals. As a recent dog owner I trust them to help me care for my pet. Kind, knowledgeable, easy to talk to. My dog is comfortable going to see them and their adjustments due to covid still manage to make a vet visit quick and painless while still making sure they answer all my questions. Amazing service.

Dr Chris Hauser goes above and beyond to ensure the health of your pet. They sent me a picture of before he went in to surgery, called when he was done to tell me how well he did. I did not expect our dog to receive the high level of care that he did, particularly, because our dog has a serious case of fear aggression. I wish all vets could learn how to connect with vulnerable pets the way Dr. Chris Hauser was able to with our dog, Toby. My mouth literally dropped when after giving our dog his much dreaded shots, Dr. Hauser walked out with a happy Toby. I still cannot believe there were no shrieks of pain heard from our dog while he received his shots and examination. It was a healing experience. Our dobe has a history of recurrent UTIs and Dr Scott was amazing with explaining all of our options, answering all of our questions and working with us to give her the best treatment plan to finally try and get to the root cause of the issue rather than constantly treating the infection as it pops up which I have always felt was a bandaid solution.

My pup loves this place!!!! Amazing staff and Doctors. Very clean and friendly. Really accommodating and always alot of staff to take care of the animals. My pup and I have had great advise and fun at this vet.

Last week a dog was hit on Northern Lights and was in bed shape and dieing, a lady and I picked the dog up and wanted to get it to the quickest place possible, we pulled up and I went to the door of course door was closed because of vivid, but I looked in to see if anybody was in there that worked there nobody!!! The lady that helped me bring the dog called the phone # it was a good 2 minutes before she got a live body on the phone, and then she explained we had a dog here that was hit and this was a emergency, they then put her on hold again for another minute before ansewering the phone and saying take it to pet er, all this time wasted that this dog did not have, granted it was dieing but time was of the essence and they could have saved that dog some time!!!! Also maybe could have put it down humanely from not suffering anymore or given oxygen to stabilize!!! What happened to veterinarians trying to save a life or just put the dog down humanely to end it's suffering!!! Sorry I will not bring my dogs here or any pets, nor recommend them to anyone!!!

My best friend was unfortunately put down about a month ago and it was an extremely crushing experience. Their system is very passionate and personable. Very compassionate staff. They have a cozy room to go through the process. You're given as much time as you need before and after. If you board an animal here you'll get photo updates via text. If you have a puppy take advantage of their puppy plan that includes absolutely everything your puppy will need including a free socializing puppy class and any fees for unforseen visits. Very handy. I've enjoyed each vet I've dealt with. No bad experiences where I feel I didn't get enough info, or like my pet is a financial opportunity. Switched from Beattie and will absolutely never go back.

My dog loves coming here - that says a lot. I've been taking my husky to VCA Eastside in Stoney Creek since I got him about 8 months ago. The veterinarian's are all gracious, caring, gentle, and understanding people, which makes all the difference. I sincerely recommend the care club package they offer, especially for puppies. It's saved me a lot of money in the long run with unexpected visits to the vet & nail trims.

Since adopting 2 kittens they have been going here for check ups & needles to keep them healthy. Service is very friendly. They talk to you about what & how they look @ each of my kittens. This is new to me as I have never been used to being a solo owner of a kitten. Last time was 32 years ago.

Absolutely horrible, if you want a veterinarian who truly cares about the animal please steer clear of this place. I recently left my dog for boarding and they explained that there would be regular contacts and updates on his condition, along with the possible need to apply medication for $25. However the night after I boarded him, I was forced into medicating my dog for $75, and told that if I refused that I would have to find someone to pick him up. For someone who was recently out of country for a funeral of a close family member, not only is this hurtful but also a major slap in the face. The service I recieved when I picked up was absolutely terrible, with the women at the counter shouting me down. Please learn from my mistake and AVOID this place if you love your animal and want loving care for your pet.

They are all very nice and accommodating. Took good care of my beautiful cat Paddy. Unfortunately, he was battling kidney disease, and we had to put him to sleep a year ago. They were very good to us during our difficult time. Would recommend this Vet clinic to everyone!
