When I first brought my puppy to this hospital, the staff explained that in order to play it safe, it was best to administer her vaccinations one at a time. This made complete sense to me, since giving her several shots at once meant that there would be no way to know which vaccine had caused a reaction. Also I am pretty sure that you pay for each vaccination, so it would likely have cost the same amount, even if I'd gotten all vaccinations on the same day. It would have been irresponsible for me or the staff to suggest getting all the vaccines at one time. I took my dog to this hospital because my sister had been going here for years with her dog. I now understand firsthand why she has been coming here. I have received nothing but knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, friendly service at the St. John's Veterinary Hospital and I would recommend that anyone bring their pet here. Outstanding staff and doctors, all very good at what they do. Definitely 5 stars.

The front staff are absolutely amazing. Polite, kind, patient, and welcoming. The doctor we dealt with, however, was rude and condescending. I have a great respect for the grueling work of all veterinarians, but this blonde woman was beyond distasteful. We were made to feel belittled and stupid. I understand that her job is to take care of animals, not people, but to be so cold and rude is beyond acceptable. Due to her lack of tact, I will not be visiting this practice again.

Fast service, fantastic staff and fabulous doctors. I phoned and was able to get an appointment as a new client the very next day. Dr. Griffin was very approachable and able to put everything in laments terms. Staff provided everything I needed even a couple freebees which saved lots! They even had a kitty waiting area away from noisy pups. :) The only negative is they're slightly more costly than other vet clinics (around $10-$20 depending on service) but much more worth it. I left Paradise Animal Hospital for their superior service.

I am very disappointed with the inconsistent and uncaring approach of this clinic. My experience with an ongoing health issue for my cat was so frustrating. Treatment suggestions were limited and only led to the worsening of my cats condition. I was not notified when prescriptions came in and an apt would not be made for my cat even when his condition became dire. I have found incredible care elsewhere and will never return to this clinic.

Great atmosphere from the start. The ladies on the front desk are warm and welcoming, the tech was professional and friendly and the clinic was clean. The vet I saw was understanding and listened to what I had to say, and offered various treatment options. Fantastic clinic, I definitely recommend it!

I know they are doctors and they work hard for their paycheques but surely they could have payment plans and such. I'm told they are the best doctors in the city and I guess that's why their fees are extremely high. It's hard to own a pet these days.

Perhaps the best veterinarian I have ever been to. While my experience has only been with Dr. Martin, if the other veterinarians present are up to the same standard then they will be great too. Also the prices are great and affordable comparable to other veterinarians. You cant go wrong taking your animal to this vet!

I've been takingy dog here for six years. I always end up waiting for a long time for my scheduled appointment - sometimes over an hour in the waiting room and then again in the exam room. Vets are kind, but.i feel as though a couple put.a lot of pressure to "love your pet" by buying things. The front desk staff are excellent and very kind, but it's also always a really long wait. I'm not sure why - I feel like they should be cycling people through much faster than they do. Just too lazy to find a new vet

Disappointed. Visiting nfld from bc with our dog. She had severe pancreatitus in the fall. Very sick. The vet in bc recommended she be on a strict, low fat diet for life. So we've been buying prescription hills low fat I/d dog food ever since and she has not had a relapse. It's very expensive and you can only get it at a vet office. No one ever gave us a prescription for it and we had never before had to provide one to a vet in order to buy the food. We've been travelling for weeks across the country and have NEVER had a problem getting refills from other vets. They would not sell it to us at this vet hospital. Without a prescription or seeing the vet first. Rediculous! I told the desk person the history. She suggested that even if we brought in an old bag thee was no way to tell if it had been for our dog!! What? I was very upset. The inference was that we could be lying about it! We eventually got it from another vet. The vet from St johns hospital was unavailable to talk to us. When we decided to wait, we were told the vet was now gone but she would call us later. Really??? She did call saying it was their policy in case a dog got the wrong food. Policies are guidelines. Reason should have prevailed here. I wonder if it was instead, an attempt to get paid for an exam or there was a kick back scheme with the company. Either way, it was not cool.

They refused to give my animals all of their annual vaccines at once, forcing me to make two separate trips. They then insisted on doing the exam twice, and subsequently charged me the full amount twice. I paid over $400 for an annual visit for one dog and one cat. I have never in my life had an experience like this, and have certainly never come close to paying this amount. The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars is that despite being money hungry crooks, they do their job well.

Great place to bring your animal family members when they are feeling under the weather or are in need of some veterinary assistance. The friendly, kind-hearted and knowledgeable staff are just amazing at what they do. They understand the stresses and worries you experience when a pet is sick and they are there to help in any way possible. The services they provide are at a lower cost than other veterinary clinics in the city and their customer service is over and above any veterinary clinic I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I have never paid more money for a vet then here about 33% more. What’s worst I called about a small lump I found on my dog. They told me that all though he is a patient with the the soonest they could see my dog is in two months, unless I paid an extra $100 then I could come in same day. I’m done with them.
