Rice Pet Clinic was awesome, my 7yr old Pitbull Weezy loved it there. The staff gave Weezy a ton of attention and treats which really helped him relax as he was really anxious. My cat was abused really bad for the year prior to when we got her and it took a year for her to become comfortable with us. When we took her in for the first time, all of the people there were super understanding of this and did everything they could to keep her calm and help her feel safe. Zoey was lethargic and was not interested in eating. Prescribed anti inflammatory and administered an antibiotic to see how she responds. After 2 days she is eating and barks when she knows its time to eat. Dr Mattison explained the issues from blood work and plus and minus approaches that helped make our decisions easier on future dental work needed to improve our 13 yr old's quality of life.

Going home with an empty cat carrier was a very sad day for me. A few days after putting my cat down, I got a lovely sympathy card with a paw print from my Baby. That came at a time when I needed it the most. I adopted my cat when she was ~ 4 and put her down when she was 16. More cats since then, but I know they will always get good care when I go there.

Vets and staff all show caring and kindness. Also, the grooming at Rice Pet Clinic is terrific! The reason I give this glowing review is because of the way my dog reacts to going there. When we get to the corner of Rice and Cty. Rd C, her tail starts wagging like crazy. Once we're out of the car, she practically drags me up the steps. I can't imagine taking her anywhere else.

They really loved on my nervous goldendoodle in the back during shots and made sure to give him some peanut butter (with my permission) as a treat. Their pricing is very reasonable and they even provide discounts if you keep up on your bi-annual check ups. Always a great experience. I've brought my oldest dog here for nearly her whole life and my younger dog since we've had her. They are helpful and really go out of their way to make sure you know all your options and understand everything. They aren't pushy about procedures and make sure you know how much things (esp expensive ones) will cost. They have been really careful and got an effective system in place pretty much immediately after covid started.

I've had cats growing up my entire life but I got my first kitten as an adult and had to take him to his first vet appointment. I was nervous as he cried in his carrier scared by the cold and my diesel engine's loudness, but when we got to Rice Pet Clinic he calmed down nicely. The staff was all great- they gave him treats to try and calm him down, even though he didn't eat them it was still appreciated. The vet techs and the vet were all very nice and gentle with my little buddy, even when he was being naughty and running around the room. If you get a rescue cat they give your first exam for free which was awesome. The staff gave me a folder of information to look over to ensure I was taking care of my cat nicely, and they also included a toy which he absolutely loves. I initially chose this place for its proximity to my apartment but I will go back because of their care and their follow up. I recommended this clinic to a my sister and my best friend who also love taking their pets here and have recommended them to others. Avoid chains and help support this awesome gem.

We will miss Dr. Tim, Dr. Julie and the great staff at the Rice Pet Clinic as we said goodbye to our lovable mime yellow Lab this past week. They are a family among themselves and to us in the abundance of TLC they poured out to us over the years, first with Grady and then Bailey. Dogs have maladies like us humans but they can’t tell us what is wrong. Tim and Julie seem to have the Dr. Doolittle ability to find out from their four legged patients what might be he matter. When there is nothing else they can do, they provide their patients and their owners with a most calming caring compassionate way in helping with the pet’s end of life. How do we know? It’s when your vet joins you tears of sorrow for your loss. God bless you Tim and team!

I love Rice St! They are so great with our anxious pup and do their best to make her as comfortable as possible. The only issue I have had is a lack of communication with the vet techs and the veterinarian. I have had multiple times where i received two completely different answers, specifically, pick up times after heart worm treatment ( a 5-hour pick up time difference). If this was sorted out rice street would be perfect!

I got excellent support for my sick pup. I even got amazing behavior advice and tips! My gal is shy and can get scared. The vet tech Jen, and Dr Sharon were so patient and so incredibly kind. They even encouraged us to stop by and make the vet a good place. Come in and get treats from the techs. Sniff around. (But after my dog isn't sick, and to call ahead. We don't want surprise visits and stress her with a busy vet day.) They will even show and teach me how to trim her nails! She has black nails and it's hard for me. I accidentally cut too far sometimes. My poor kiddo. I feel and know we are in competent, capable and kind hands at Rice Pet Clinic.

They charged a lot more than Pomeroy's Animal Hospital. We got quoted a crazy range for the price, $400-1400. We took our cat for a second opinion and paid less than their lowest estimate. Our car is fine and we saved money by going elsewhere. Don't put your animal down if they give you a quote that you can't afford. Go to Pomeroy's instead.

I took my cat... No, make that my best friend here a couple years ago with the concern of a bump on his chin. I was told it was just a mole, and it wasn't anything to worry about. I moved out of the cities and took him to another vet for a check up. Turns out this "mole" wasn't really a mole, but a cancerous tumor. I may be losing my best friend because of their misdiagnosis. Absolutely heartbreaking.

The staff here are so fantastic! We've brought our current dog here for 2 years and the dog we had prior for all of his 14 years. They don't push you into any treatments and are honest about what needs to be done. They also do boarding here at very reasonable rates. If you do board here, just be aware they aren't open in Sundays, and while they have kennel keepers, you can't pick up your animal until Monday.

What we have loved about our family members being treated by Dr. Tim is from the first time he see's them, in how he lights up with joy about our new family member, the challenges we face, and the love we'll enjoy. Each visit, Dr. Tim always knows our family's names, is genuinely interested in how they're growing and learning new things, and how we need to protect them with certain vaccinations for where our activities will take us. This is hands-down one of the best clinics I have ever been to. I made an appointment for a couple days out, but I ended up calling next day to see if they happened to have any openings. They fit us in same- day, and the receptionists were so kind. At the appointment, our vet tech, Paige, was so sweet and showered my poodle, Olive, with attention. She was so professional and personable. Dr. Jason is absolutely phenomenal. He explains everything so well and made sure to explore every possible avenue for what was causing Olive’s symptoms. The entire staff was just so incredible & the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be back!

Prior to going to the Rice Pet Clinic, I was taking my cat to a certain chain animal clinic that shall remain nameless, and my little Frank got awful treatment. This is my first pet, so the experience at that chain clinic really freaked him out (and me). They pulled out tufts of his hair, made Frank wait for hours for a simple exam, wouldn't let me be in the room for the exam, and kept telling me to go shopping in the big pet store associated with their clinic. My cat is very shy, never hisses or complains, and is a respectful little cat. When we decided to make the switch to this smaller, non-chain clinic with vet's who have been practicing there for a long time, the difference was HUGE. Not only did my cat get his own "Cat's Only Entrance," (there is a Dog's Only too... ), the vet was immediately in the room doing the exam, Frank felt comfortable and safe, and even started PURRING. The vet was very kind, answered all our questions, did the appropriate tests for Frank's symptoms, and we left feeling so much better. RELIEF! It's such a quaint, lovely clinic and I highly, highly recommend it. The vet tech's are also wonderful, and they really put a lot of love into the awful-ness of having to visit the doctor. Frank actually LIKES going there. On the visit where he had to stay for a few hours for a test that took that long, he came home smelling of a very light-scented perfume (maybe hand soap) around his neck and on his back, which indicated that he was getting LOTS of pets all day from the vet techs. He is totally in love with those girls. This is the place to go. There are a handful of other vet clinics in this area, but this is the ONLY one I would ever recommend. I got on Google+ just to do this and spread the word about this clinic. BEST. ANIMAL. CLINIC. EVER.

My regular vet couldn't get my dog in for an eye infection for over a month (without dropping him off for a day or two). They got me in the next day,. They were very patient with him (he is old, has bad hips, and VERY skittish), and never were too forceful with him. Sadly some vets get impatient with him being skittish and tend to knee him in the butt to get him to sit down, which I understand, but he has very bad hip dysplasia. They were never short with him, never forced him down, and didn't even shame him about his weight! I got the bill at the end and was shocked, in a good way! Easily $100 less than my regular vet would have been, even being a new patient there.

Sid had dental work and 6 teeth removed! Dr. Sharon was awesome in explaining what would happen prior to the procedure. The techs are always friendly and greet Sid as if he's their own. Dr. Julie did a great job with the surgery and contacted me a few times during and immediately after the surgery providing updates on Sid's progress. I really appreciated the call a few days later by a tech to check in. Sid has healed exactly the way they said. Being a single pet owner, money is a concern. I checked around and Rice Pet Clinic was right in line or maybe a little less. Definitely would recommend Rice Pet Clinic!

Update: Dr. Jason, who recently took over the Clinic from our retiring DMV, is doing a superb job. He sets a very good tone of not too much, and not too little. We've been seeing Dr. Julie for 5+ years - since we got our first of three dogs - and couldn't be happier with her advice and knowledge, and now the same goes for Dr. Tim.
