Two weeks ago I noticed our beloved cat Cali had lost a considerable amount of weight and was more stand-offish than usual. I called another local vet who was not only unaccommodating, but because we were not already clients, they essentially wanted me to enter a telephone lottery the next morning to get my Cat in for an EMERGENCY visit. When I called Loch Lomond Veterinary Hospital I was treated with the utmost respect and they got Cali in to be seen as quickly as possible. In the weeks since her diagnosis they have called to check in on Cali to see how she was doing. Sadly, this morning we had to make the difficult decision to go back to the vet for the inevitable end as Cali had taken a turn for the worst. The staff was again wonderful and showed an unbelievable amount of care and compassion for Cali in her final moments. The staff there are caring and accommodating, and the Doctors take the time to explain their findings and every step of what needs to happen. This was a tough day for us, but it was made easier by the care given to us and Cali during this most difficult time.

A few months back I took my cat to the vet. He had an allergy problem. The Dr. told me that they use a steroid shot for allergies. Well, it worked! However, it didn't last & in a few weeks he was itching again. I noticed weight loss. I wasn't too concerned because he was a bigger cat & I had recently changed his food to a healthier kind. She told me to keep an eye on it & she shot him up with another dose. He continued to lose weight. The Vet didn't seem concerned but I was getting to be. I began Googling the side effects of allergy shots. I found out a lot of things that the Vet should have told me. Some animals become diabetic after the injection. Repeated use of steroids in cats can put them at more risk of becoming diabetic. Now my cat is diabetic. The Vet informed me of the 100s & 100s of dollars it would cost to keep him alive. I don`t have the money. My son, who`s autistic, & I have had our cat for 11 years. Many tears were shed on his fur after my son`s stressful days. I was just looking at some past kindergarten work & when the question on the work sheet asked what my son was most grateful for, he answered, "Jasy my cat". My son & his new kitten quickly became friends and 11 years later he still follows him around like you would expect a puppy to follow is master around. Now, he is sick. I stopped taking him to get the shot like the articles advised & I waited for some improvement & I thought I saw it. He gained a couple couple of pounds & seemed to feel better but it didn't last. I took him for a second opinion at another Veterinary clinic & it was the same bad news. I was hoping it might have been temporary because sometimes it is a temporary side effect. My son is heart broken & so am I but I am also angry that this could have been prevented. The Vets at Loch Lomond Veterinary Hospital should have informed me of the side effects. This could have been prevented. We are devastated as we watch him grow sicker. Our cat is dying because of them . This could have been prevented.

I find the staff to be very unfriendly. They don't seem to act like they really care about animals...just money. Not that I think vets shouldn't charge etc...I just think that for the amount they are being paid for their services, they could at least ACT like they care about animals and be a little friendlier to the people accompanying the patients because they are ultimately the ones that decide where to take their fur babies and hand over hundreds and even thousands of dollars for their medical care.

Tried once, won't go back. Took cat for vacs, meds, blood work, and preliminary tests. Never received paperwork or tags for any of it. Asked about his meds and they had forgotten to give them to him, gave him his pill then. Glad I asked. 2 weeks later no word on test results. Called 4hrs in advance and still took 35mins to get a health certificate when I arrived. Rude worker at the desk. Will be sticking to Fairvale Animal Hospital

A great place to bring your pet. We've recently discovered this vet after years of patronizing others in the Quispamsis area. It's a bit small but they take good care of all their guests and are priced lower than anywhere else in the Saint John area. Just recently had to have our older dogs teeth removed and saved ourselves $2200 compared to other vets in the area.

I took my father in-laws dog their. Her vet,to unfortunately be put to sleep. I was given a price over the phone from a young girl who hadn't worked their long,or so I was told by another person who came out to take my payment. Unfortunately it was not the price given,it was in fact doubled in price but with a dog suffering in the car what choice did I have. Personally I would not use as my vet. Just to much confusion.

We have 4 cats which we got the first two in 2007. Loch Lomond Vet has been taking care of our fur babies for many years. Any time we had an emergency and they had to be seen right away it never has been a problem. The staff is super friendly, very professional, if you have to Leave your pet their for the day or over night you feel as though your fur baby will be well taken care of. We enjoy our Vet it’s a bit pricey but so is every thing these days. We highly recommend them????????????????

I just recently found out about this clinic, after being treated poorly price wise from our previous vet, I found this clinic to be very fair, professional, great staff, and very helpful. They saw my 14 year old dog in no time, and fixed her up really nice! I would recommend this place 100%!

Can not say enough good things about Dairy Town / Loch Lomond vet hospitals. Dr. Downey has been my God of vets, five months ago I walked in with a horse who had minunal hind end function , with fearing the worst Dr. Downey went above and beyond to find the problem. He done the nessary steps and did not use me for a money grab, I am happy to announce my horse is now on the road to recovery all thanks to quick acting knowledgeable staff!

Some good and some bad here. The upshot is that they saved my cat and got him in pretty quickly, and for that I'm grateful. Upsides: -> They saved my cat, and that itself makes me eternally grateful to them. -> They booked an appointment on same-day and did not charge an emergency fee for it. -> They had easy set up for a payment plan through a loan company that deals in loans for pet bill payments, am able to use this elsewhere as well. Downsides: -> I was quoted both a high price and lower price, and it does not seem that much effort was made to try to keep the price low and reasonable -> I find a few of the staff to be a little less warm than I would have expected with a the exception of one person who was very very kind and seemed to care about the animals and was comforting. -> They forgot to give my pet a dose of medicine and gave it last second, so that doesn't instill great confidence. -> Trying to get information on all this stuff from them is a bit painful and clumsy, they don't exactly seem like they're working as one unit and seem disorganized, and a lot of asking back and forth between them about how something works. -> They are a little frustrating to deal with as a pet owner who has never gone through this before as I got the sense that they may have been expecting me to know a little bit more before hand than I did, but I think that they should probably be fully prepared for newbies that come in that are seeking assistance and who do not know what to expect. -> After I had to take my pet to an other location for emergency help after the problem seemed to complicate, the other vet seemed to scratch their head at one of the drug choices of this vet and decided to alter the prescription. Again, does not leave me terribly confident. -> The other vet (Hampton at 510 Main Street) seemed much more compassionate towards (Even in the middle of the night for an emergency call!) the both of us and seemed to really try their best to offer the best balance of care and tried also to keep costs from becoming silly. All in all, I don't want to swing too hard at them because I know they tried, it's just that I don't believe that this could be called, in all honesty, a 5-star experience, and I know that other clinics such as the one located in hampton and the fairvale animal hospital both have good to excellent reputations for their prices and amazing service, respectively. I think that bringing your pet here for treatment in an emergency will save your pet's life, but I think that if it isn't as urgent and one of those other two locations are available and accessible, you might have a better experience there.

Recently had to put my cat down and the service i recieved was the best ...the girl at the desk was great ..i used to go to Kannon vet but the dr is very rude and pushy ..so if i need to take my girls to a dr it will be loch lomond for sure..thanks everyone for being so caring and thoughful threw our hard time ❤ Update, called the vet to get my fur baby in and sent the girl a pic over FB so they could see her paw and not even five minutes later she messaged me and said they could take her anytime, so I got there with her and took her in and the dr came out and talked to me and said she did good and was ready to go. My sister came in with her dog barley able to breath. There was no empathy what so ever and the girl didnt even bother coming out to check on the animal. Waited in my car for about 15 mins and no one came. Her dog passed away on the way to try to get more help. NEVER. Go to this vet clinic.

Dr. Downey has gone above and beyond on more than one occasion for our family. He does not try to go for the "money grab" and is always fair and honest about what is necessary and what is not. We've had quotes done by other vets and LLVH has always been much less expensive, yet they provide superior service and care. There is never a doubt in my mind that Dr. Downey will do what is best for our pets. LLVH gets my recommendation 100%!

I was so upset I said I will call back to bring her in???????? I called back this morning to have this done, The price they quoted me went up almost another $100.I guess a few days ago it must have been running a sale!! ABSOLUTELY terrible, my dog had a serious uterus infection we called multiple vet clinics, Hampton vet clinic told us what it most likely was, they were correct and tried to help, but Could not take us, and we explained it on the phone to the vets here what was wrong with our dog and how serious it was, they were the vets today on call for emergency service and they refused to take her even tho we needed an emergency surgery and they just told us to go to Moncton. I do NOT recommend this place whatsoever thank god sunshine valley vet in Sussex took her because if we waited any longer she would have died. If I could rate this place zero stars I would have.

They KILLED your dog Trevor White when they tried to put it to sleep. If it had a reaction to the gas and the meds it was on that was prescribed to him by the same vet it was definitely malpractice. The vet should know if the meds would have a reaction to the gas. At the end of the day they still charged you over $600 for the work they did??? That is sick! Means nothing when they dog is dead..go demand your money back. Just for them to take your money after they killed your dog shows greed unprofessionalism lack of care zero moral values or care for the pet or the family. Merry Chrismas
