Had to take my mom's dog in to get her leg looked at. Everywhere was booked up but they have a call in list if people cancelled which is handy. Inside the facility is setup nice and plenty of room. The dog is scared of the vet so being able to distract her at the store was nice. I'd bring my dog back for his check ups

Our goldendoodle had been throwing up for a few days so we brought her into this clinic. Dr. Short was her veterinarian during this time. We were told that she needed bloodwork and x-rays to determine the cause. It came back that her white blood cell count was up and we were told it could’ve been a stomach infection. We were sent home with anti-nausea medication and told that if she kept vomiting, she needed to see a vet again. She continued to vomit so we brought her back in. We were told she needed more x-rays to determine if she had a blockage. The results of the x-rays came back and it was determined that there was no clear blockage. She was hooked up to IV fluids and kept overnight for monitoring. After she came home that day, she continued to vomit. We brought her to Guardian Vet in Edmonton and it was determined that she had a blockage and needed emergency surgery. The surgery was done within 8 hours of her going to the hospital. We spent close to $2000 at WBSAH and we’re no closer to an answer than when the vomiting started. When we expressed concerns about the cost, they were unprofessional and replied with, “but you have pet insurance?”. Do not take your animals here. Save your money and see a veterinarian who has the basic knowledge to help your pet.

Terrible experience. Apathetic doctor spiker and technician girl we had was rude and couldn’t care less about our cat. We lost our pet most likely to neglect and bad diagnosis. We went to gregoire vet to end his suffering and the level of care was night and day difference. I am positive we could have saved him had we went to another clinic. We spent 2000$ for 2 days of iv and blood test. STAY AWAY from this place. They will charge an arm and a leg and see your pet not as a family member but as a way to pump profits. I’m so disgusted by that place thinking about it and how my friend was treated makes my blood boil! If you care about your animal avoid that place like the plague

Will not be visiting this vet anymore, so disappointed. I called them for an emergency appointment because my chinchilla was mid stroke and they completely turned us away because they have no exotic vet. Offered no help, advice, or even bothering to point me towards someone who could help. Apologized and stayed silent until I hung up. We went downtown instead, they don't have an exotic vet either, but immediately offered their help. They will be getting all my future business. I'm so upset and angry with WBSAH, be careful bringing your babies here.

We absolutely love this place, they've taken care of our cat over the holidays we had to be in there for New Year's Eve and they take great care of our dog, we spent an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with him and if we didn't need a shot they weren't going to charge us anything, they're very helpful and super friendly staff and they always stalk are animals favorite food, sometimes it's hard to get an appointment because they're so busy but that should just tell you about the quality of service you're getting that so many people want to go there

Brought my 10 month old dog there to be spayed . Within 3 days she was dead. The vet went to any length to shift blame from her facility. I wouldnt trust them with the remains of a dead pet let alone a living one.

I brought my dog Hope to the Wood Buffalo Small Animal Hospital last week, and was really impressed with Dr. Yvonne. She took the time to explain the medication my dog was on, and suggested another one, with no side effects for my dog. She also took the time to ensure I completely understood. I did not feel rushed. The level of professionalism they exhibited from the time I phoned, came in to check in, waited in my car, was let to the room, and softly interviewed by one of their technicians, and then met with the Veterinarian was excellent!! I feel very confident that my dog was being taken care of in a manner that was consistent of a very caring community of professionals. Thank you so much.

We only have great things to say about our experience with the Wood Buffalo Small Animal Hospital! My husband and I have been taking our puppy, Mocha, to the WBSAH ever since we got her, and she has received nothing but the best care every time she’s there. The communication with this hospital has been great! They have always been kind and have been respectful and courteous (even when we change our appointment dates multiple times -lol). Their PetDesk App has been great for reminders and scheduling, and I’ve always received a phone call before and after appointments. Since we got Mocha in the year 2020, Covid procedures had to be put in place. The WBSAH staff described to us in detail what we needed to do and what to expect before we even arrived. The staff have always handled Mocha with care as if she were their own – never forcing her or being “rough” and always doing their best to make it a pleasant experience for her. We were so pleased and grateful to see that from the staff! VACCINATIONS When we took Mocha in for her first vaccinations, we were really nervous for her especially since (because of Covid) we couldn’t go in with her. To our joy, not only did the hospital staff guide us on how to make it a better experience for Mocha, but when she came out afterwards she was so happy and wanted to go back inside! Our second time getting vaccinations Mocha was more nervous to leave us than the first, and she even peed on multiple members of the staff, and they were all super kind and understanding about it. SURGERY (SPAY) Mocha’s surgery went SO well! The communication throughout the whole thing was exemplary. We were told and understood the risks before she went in, and they kept us updated as things progressed. We paid for extra blood-work and asked for the full results, and they happily gave us a copy of her FULL BLOODWORK – which was amazing! Her incision site was clean and we had no issues post-surgery. She barely even has a scar now – they did such a good job! They gave us all the post-surgery supplies and information we needed to properly care for her, and followed up with us by phone to make sure Mocha was doing well. They let us know they were always there if we had any concerns or questions and to just call in whenever we needed them. PHONE CALLS & PRICING I have called in to this hospital to receive information on things that have concerned me, and they have given me great advice and directed me on what I can try before needing to schedule and pay for an appointment. They have been SUPER up-front about what will cost me money and how much I will be charged. We have found their pricing to be completely reasonable for the services we are getting. So thankful to have such an amazing animal hospital in town! Would recommend to anyone who loves their pet. Thank you WBSAH for all you’ve done for our puppy, and we will see you next time!

dont plan on every going back after the last experance with this place theres one vet that works here that's extreamly rude and unprofessional. been multiple times were he has said that no vets in this same place no what there doing and that hes the best. tryed to summit a report about him and nothing was ever done. my dog is really old and needs to be check over every time, this one guy wouldnt even look in the dogs ears mouth or feel his hips for problems. compleat lack of skills and needs to be dealt with. still waiting to hear back about the report it's been over a month. I dont recommend this place because of the chance of getting this one vet

Was mostly concerned with getting paid. After going to my regular vet my dog was give a prescription and was healed up in two days.

We went with our dog who had an ear infection, and they didn’t even touch him! She sent him medication without even inspecting him. Later we tried to make an appointment and we couldn’t even though it was supposed to be a follow up visit. They were offering us more medication without even seeing what was wrong with the dog, we ended up taking him to another clinic which actually treated our dog and got rid of the infection.

They treated my pups so well! One of my boys is very afraid of vets due to his time in a shelter as a pup and some medical complications he had as a puppy. Not only did they take extra time with him they also welcomed us to stop by a couple times prior to the appointment to give him some positive experiences at the location without any poking and prodding typical of a visit to the vet.

I've had great experiences here and the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is I had to take my dog to another vet when he was dying to a vet I didn't know and they did nothing to try to save him. He's gone now and It may of been a different outcome if i could of taken him to his vet where they knew him and his history. I am concerned about this with my other dog ill and dying but I guess that's the way it is here though because they take turns being on call for emergencies. Anyway, I do recommend this place, Dr. Spiker is nice, knowledgable and thorough and everyone seems to really care about the pets they treat.

Squeezed my dog in during an extremely busy time for an emergency surgery. I called other clinics, I was offered an appointment days and weeks ahead. My dog had a very deep gash on his side that was exposed and he wouldn't stop licking. I called Wbsah, took us without hesitation. They were very compassionate and very supportive. They listened to my concerns and worked with me. They also kept me very informed and explained everything without trying to push prices; which were much cheaper than expected! I wanted to tell them how much it meant to me that they just took us in and how other clinics shut the door in our face but I would tear up every time I attempted. Dr. Grant was our vet and she is absolutely amazing. I would reccomend this place ever ANY clinic in Fort Mac and after my experience with all the other places I would honestly call them back just to put in formal complaints just on how I was spoken to.

Best experience with a vet service in town. I called others and they couldn't get my dog in for 6-8 weeks unless i wanted to pay a $400 emergency fee. I scheduled the dog in here and they got her in within a week. I also got a prescription done over the phone no issues. Would highly recommend this place always friendly and easy to deal with.

Been with WBSAH for over 12 years and still going. I trust them with my dogs completely. Friendly, caring, and experienced staff. Good facility. I've had a few small emergencies over the years and they were always accommodating. Short wait times for routine appointments. One time I called in advance when my dog swallowed a fish hook and by the time I arrived the staff were completely prepped with a table waiting for her. They went straight to work and safely removed the hook without surgery. I thought they were a little pricey until I went to Guardian Vet in Edmonton for specialized treatment for my lab. Yea I have no reservations paying the bill anymore...

We brought in a cat to be neutered and they did the best to get it done fast but yet efficiently. I say this because we travelled 280km and with another appointment and some shopping to kill time between the dropoff and pick up time, the accomondated our schedule quite well. Prices seemed reasonable also.

The staff are amazingly kindhearted and always make for a great visit, even when the reasons we’re there aren’t so great. They are always willing to help and have been very accommodating when we make last minute requests .I’ve had only positive experiences there. ????

I was so happy with the service provided today! I had to make a very last minute and urgent appointment for my pet. The clinics staff were so accommodating and caring despite being fully booked solid!???? I definitely recommend this clinic and will return. Professional staff that are great with pets and owners needs.
