We have always had wonderful care for our bunny at Westside Animal Clinic. Our most recent visit was of an emergent nature, and although we rushed in with no appointment (but fear written all over our faces), we were not told we had to go elsewhere. We were seen, and heard, and helped. The follow-up a few days later was so welcome and supportive. We are so grateful to have Westside Animal Clinic as part of our care group for our little pal :)

All of the staff here are extremely caring and have always taken very good care of my animals. They always call to check up on my cats after they have had their annual vaccinations, or any type of medical procedure done. Jen is very friendly and I always enjoy hearing stories about her animals while I am paying my bill, or waiting to pick up my cats. I am guilty of calling to check up on one of my cats when she had dental work done, and Jen put my mind at ease by letting me know that everything had gone well and Luna was back to her normally loving self again. I have been coming to this vet since at least 2010 if not longer and I can't imagine going anywhere else now. Every experience I have had with Westside has been a positive one. I know that when my cats get brought in, they receive amazing care from all of the staff.

They seem to really love my dog - I am sure they love everyone's dog, but I think its nice they treat you like your animal is as special as you think they are! I also find it caring they always call a day or two after an appointment to see how my dog is doing.

What an amazing animal clinic!! We have been taking our dog and cat to Westside Animal Clinic for the last few years, and always have been provided with exception service. Our little cat, Vina, she was at one point dying. The vet Dr. Karen Danesik and staff took her in immediately, to find out she was diagnosed with being diabetic. They kept her at the clinic for days until her life was back to somewhat normal. That happened over a year ago. Today, Vina is full of life and back to her spunky brattiness. I can't say enough appreciation to the Dr and all staff for the love they have in animals. The care and time they provide to all animals is exceptional. I highly recommend Westside Animal Clinic for anyone who has any animals.

Great exotic vet (and assistants familiar with exotics) who has gone above and beyond for my small animal companion guinea pigs. I always get the impression that they all sincerely enjoy their jobs and have a lot of lot of compassion in times of worry. They have listened to all my concerns, explained solutions thoroughly and given me the appropriate medications to help my fur-babies. I would highly recommend this vet.

I have been going to Westside Animal Clinic for fourteen years. Next week I am taking my cat in for the last time. Unfortunately, the time has come for my cat to move along. I can't recommend Westside enough. They have taken care of my girl so well. I was never worried about the care my cat would receive. They were gentle and friendly with my little pal. In fact, the cat wouldn't even complain when at the vet. When I made the decision to put my cat to sleep, the doctor very patiently walked me through what the process would be like and offered her sympathies. She noted how long the cat had been coming in and was really interested in doing what was best. We could have done more testing but I knew it was time and she supported my decision. I am sad that my cat is going away but I know she will be surrounded by a clinic staff that really cared about her. I would be remiss to not point out how awesome Jen is too. She is the sweetest person and she always greeted my cat by name when we came in. And even when I didn't have an appointment and was just picking up food or insulin, she always asked how my kitty was doing. I will miss my cat and I will miss the friendly people at Westside Animal Clinic. If you have a forever friend and want him/her to be treated with the best care, visit these people.

I have been taking my dogs to see Dr Danesik at Westside animal clinic for just over a year now. All the staff is extremely helpful and caring to mine and my pets needs especially through these trying times of COVID-19. The doctor allows you to come in with your pet and schedules appointments far enough apart so they can thoroughly clean between patients so you don’t have to wait in the car while you worry about your baby getting The care he or she needs. The appointments go very smoothly. I highly recommend westside Animal Clinic I’m confident anybody that takes their pets there will be more than satisfied with the service.

Today I was in with our cat for a more serious problem and as usual great care from the ladies that work here as support staff. The vet was new to me and I was very happy with her. This clinic handled my puppy's injury terribly. My 10 month old Chihuahua puppy injured himself running up the stairs and we took him to the vet to see what was wrong (he was limping quite seriously and had no strength in his leg, though he did not appear to be in any pain). The vet and vet assistant came in and spent all of 5 minutes (if it was even that long) examining his leg/knee. She concluded that my dog needed knee surgery (he's not even a year old), possibly on both knees and pain medicine that would make him sick (once again, he was not showing ANY signs of pain before or during the appointment, no whimpers, nothing). I got the distinct feeling that this particular veterinarian looked at my car keys and sunglasses and thought "this looks like a woman who will spend and outrageous amount of money on her dog," it was very uncomfortable. We were told to keep him pretty calm and not to walk him and that they would send a request for surgery to another clinic. My puppy started limping worse and in a different manner after the appointment. I took him for a second opinion to a different clinic, where they spent more than an hour fully checking him out. This vet concluded that there was something out of place in his back and that one of his knees was loose, but not even remotely bad enough to require surgery. The vet also said that there was absolutely nothing wrong with his other knee and the idea of even suggesting double knee surgery on a small, chihuahua puppy was outrageous. To top it off, they had requested my puppy's records from the Westside Animal Clinic and even after signing a release from and personally talking to them on the phone, they refused to send over his information to our new vet. Considering they sent his files to another clinic for knee surgery this seems 100% ridiculous. I was told very, very rudely that if I wanted my dogs files I would have to pick them up myself. I will never ever recommend the Westside Animal Clinic to anyone ever again, their complete disregard for my dog's health was daunting and not at all what I expect from a place dealing with the health of people's animals. On the bright side, my dog is feeling much better after the appointment with the other vet and he is back running, walking and playing.

I’m only giving this star a 3 because of how my doggo was treated in my recent appointment .... the vet herself was professional but my dog who is just over a year old was stressed out of his mind and frightened I tried to calm him down and the vet Assisant wanted to take his temperature which is fine but my dog accidentally snapped at her out of fear when I apologized to the vet Assisant say “ I’m so sorry he isn’t usually like this “ she gave me the most I felt disgusted look and walked out of the room .... I’m sorry but you try being in a unfamiliar place and not sure why your there then try having someone stick a unfamiliar substance up your butt ... I’m sure you would snap too !! On another note the vet her self is professional and would recommend her deeply to anyone

I cannot say enough about how amazing everyone is at this vet clinic. The Office manager Jen and staff went over and above after my french bulldog, Mica passed away from a motor vehicle. They made sure to comfort me and reassure me that my furry friend had not suffered. They kept Mica for me until I was ready to make a decision about cremation. The staff kept her collar, a paw print and even wrote me a card with their heart felt sympathy for my loss. This all kept safe for me until I was prepared to come back to the clinic, no pressure, just comfort and a true love for animals and their owners. I cannot thank everyone here enough. You made a terrible situation manageable, and you have no idea what that meant to me.

Went to the clinic in search of help for my dog, explained that I was unable to pay in full but could do payments and was told that they dont do that. Knowing that my dog was in trouble, I asked if they knew anywhere i could go to get her the help she needed. The receptionist was very helpful and empathetic, although the vet tech could use some lessons in compassion. She didn’t even make eye contact with me and continued to click away on the computer. I know its a business and they rely on payments to run. But to show such a lack of compassion is disgusting. Not everyone has a large surplus of money, but we do love our animals and want the best for them. So a huge thank you to this clinic for allowing me the pleasure of watching my dog die......

I've been taking my dog to this vet for a year now. I go there for all my dogs needs. My dog recently got an infection in his paw and I have went there and called numerous times to get him into see the doctor but they can't seem to fit him in. Very disappointing! !!

Worst vet ever! Could have cost me my cat's life! I took my cat here for his first set of shots after adopting him from the Edmonton Humane Society. The lady vet made me wait past my appointment and it was now 10 minutes to closing...this was not the frustrating part...I'm used to waiting. At that point she gave him his shot and said "If he is going to have an allergic reaction to this, it will be in the next 15 minutes." She then looked at her clock and said, "So you will have to take him to the emergency vet downtown if that happens." The emergency vet is 25 minutes away and he would surely die in that time! Because she was late and wanted to go home she could not afford me the 5 MINUTES it would have taken to save my cat's life when she would have been closing up anyway. Get out of the profession, you clearly are not in it for the animals. I will never return here!

I have been bringing my Critters to West Side Animal Clinic for 12 years. Everyone is incredibly compassionate and kind. The Vet Dr. Karen Danesik has been treating my Dog Conrad since he was a puppy. Through swallowing a quilting needle as a puppy, to check ups to now his end of life care the level of care is evident in every visit. Even when it was time to let go of my other dog, after a long battle, they were so kind and caring. I will be forever grateful for their care and concern.

The staff are kind and knowledgeable people who give a lot of their time to helping upset customers who bring in their injured or sick animals. I have heard lots of stories at the great length the vet and techs do to save their patients. I will bring my pets here anytime for quality care. Negative people who say bad things about this clinic are completely unfounded and blown out of proportion.

This clinic fails to respect medical exemptions. Will certainly be filing a human rights complaint against this business. They struggle to understand the law and discriminate against people that have conditions that prevent them from wearing a mask.

Westside Animal Clinic & their staff are amazing. We have taken our dog, Theo there since he was a puppy, and will continue to always take him there. The staff are so incredibly welcoming, and friendly not only to me, but to my dog which we all know is most important. :) The vet, Karen has always been so incredibly amazing to Theo, and any issues we've had with him she's fixed with ease, and grace. You can tell that being a vet is not just a job to her, she truly loves animals from the bottom of her heart as do all the staff. She has always been so gentle, and kind to Theo, and always lets him give her kisses, and he gets lots of treats :) Whenever Theo has had an emergency medical situation, they've always made it work to schedule Theo in to avoid us having to pay more money at the emergency vet, and their prices are more than reasonable. They also always follow-up a few days after any medical appt to see how he's doing. I have nothing, but good things to say about this place, and their staff. You wouldn't be disappointed if you let them care for your fur babies. :)

Amazing clinic! Really thorough, empathetic, friendly and knowledgeable staff. They had seen my cat throughout his life and would catch everything quickly and were able to treat him accordingly. This clinic is very clean and organized. I simply couldn't recommend any other clinic. if you want your pet to have a happy healthy life then i would suggest you have the amazing staff take them in as their patient. They even see exotics!

I am very saddened and confused to see so many negative reviews for Westside. I can guarantee that the issue lies with those clients, and not the clinic. I have been coming here for around 5 years when I first needed to find a vet willing to see reptiles, when my leopard gecko was very ill. I started bringing my cat as well because I was so impressed with the thorough and caring service that myself and my animals received. My cat got diagnosed with diabetes soon after, and it turned into a very hard struggle. I was on the phone with Dr. Danesik and the receptionist Jen every other day to figure out what the next step was to take with him. I never felt like I was being a burden to them. Despite everything, we had to let him go two months after the diagnosis. I wouldn't have had those two extra months with him if it wasn't for their hard work and empathy. I now bring my dog and my boyfriend's cat here, and would never think about going anywhere else. If you are having doubts, call the clinic and all your worries will be put aside by whoever answers. Thank you Westside!
