Wonderful service. Dr. Balc was so thorough and gave my little Pomchi the greatest care. She needed a checkup and was a bit anxious going in. Dr. Balc was very gentle and patient, easing a lot of her stress away. She is incredibly knowledgeable and kindly answered any questions I had. Highly recommend this clinic!

I had a wonderful experience at Westmount Animal Clinic! The front desk staff got my cat, Simon, in within a day. Dr. Green was and the rest of the staff were highly personable and took the time to speak to me about my cat and answer my questions. The was told the cost of the exam and all the vaccines upfront without asking, which I appreciated. I feel the vets here are caring and compassionate, without being overzealous to get you to buy additional products or services. Costs for the exam and vaccines was reasonable. Prices were very comparable to the rural vet I used to take my cat to. I accidently came a little early and the staff were able to take Simon then, rather than a half an hour later. You might pay more for services like nail trimming you could get cheaper at other places, but you are also having a vet professional provide the service rather than a groomer, so it is to be expected. Great first experience, will be back. ????

Dr. Green and the staff here have been fantastic support to our two rescue cats... one which goes all BEAST MODE when she visits the vet. So far no major blood loss has occurred! ???? Carolyn at the front desk saved my day today. I showed up and hour early for my appointment thinking it was at 3 and she made some adjustments and got me in right away! She was so lovely. The new vet we saw was amazing with Lilly especially her first time at the vet with me (rescue chihuahua) was able to give her her shot and examination without a muzzle or sedatives. Thank you so much. I would recommend Westmount to everyone. Wonderful staff great vets!

Not even sure I really want to give 3 stars. The vet was very nice, however a $93 check up somehow turned into me spending $260. I was clearly shocked by the price when I was at reception, and the receptionist flippantly told me she guess she could provide me an itemized receipt. Only after I finished paying, of course. When I said ‘hey, $93 for the exam, plus $30 for the pills, and $25 for the omega3, that’s like $150? Why is my bill $260?’ The response I got was “yeah, plus the other stuff”. CLEARLY, I don’t know what other stuff, as I didn’t approve of anything else happening to him. Instead of asking me if I would like my cat to be given a dewormer, they just went ahead and did so. So paid for that, which I’m not happy about. Had the vet had asked, I would have told her I have deworming pills at home. I had to FIGHT about not giving him a rabies shot when I called to book the appointment, even after telling them he had a 3 year shot given only a year ago. Overall, decent vet, but you sure swindled me out of $260. I’m majorly disappointed in having to pay for things I never approved to have done.

Great experience! I tentatively took my young female cat for her first visit. Due to her origin, I would describe her as semi-feral, very nervous around unfamiliar people, and this would be the first time any other humans, aside from myself, have touched her. She was coaxed and handled by Dr. Bertamini the rest of the staff in such a way that she was calm and content, and she behaved as though it was all routine. Remarkable! I will give this wonderful little cat some credit, as well. I've always had a great experience at Westmount; great attention, quickly received with no herds of people and animals in the waiting room.

This clinic changed hands and boy was it a refreshing one. The doctor was relaxed and friendly and my dog, who does not generally like the vet, eventually calmed down and ate a treat. The doctor was very nice and helpful and went the extra mile in helping address the entirety of my dog's needs. I felt welcome and supported in the care of my furbaby.

Not only did these girls trim my cat’s nails but they helped me figure out how to review the clinic online! This is a very convenient vet for us, right in the neighbourhood and they are always very supportive. I like the way they call in to check how things are going after a visit. They seem genuinely concerned about my animal and do not try to sell me unnecessary treatments.

Great first experience. Nice facility and staff. Vet was great with my dog during the exam and treatment. As it was our first visit, they allowed me to enter the facility even though curbside policy is in place. This was very appreciated. Price was reasonable and matched quote given over the phone. In short, so far so good. I like it.

So far my experience with them has been really good. They take good care of my dog and have a friendly service. They keep track of my dog's vaccines and call me to remind me for the next ones and follow up to check how he is from time to time. It would be awesome if the also could provide the grooming service.

These guys are awesome, we just got a kitten and honestly I have no idea what I am doing. The vets were so patient at answering our questions and concerns. Also Pancake had a minor allergic reaction to some medication and the vets explained what was going on, what we needed to do and what to look out for for the next 24-48 hours. Honestly a great place

The staff were super helpful and friendly and chatty, our dog Cormack was super happy with the treatment and the good dog treats, and I was super happy with the service. Plus, there was zero upselling pressure at this clinic unlike others I've been to. They're bestkind at Westmount!

We had an appointment on August 6th with Dr. Green for my cat Zara, and it was fantastic all around. Everyone in the clinic was kind and welcoming, the vet tech even gave my cat a little toy that she still plays with! Caroline at reception was incredibly helpful and Dr. Green was professional and took the time to explain everything in detail. I have been coming to this vet for almost 5 years now, and the staff is better than ever. After having an poor experience with a previous vet that worked here in the winter (we were assured she is no longer here..) I can say with confidence that I will absolutely be coming back. Everyone that works here really cares about your pet and it shows!

We were extremely disappointed in our last visit to Westmount Animal Clinic and do not plan on returning and would recommend that others stay away as well. We needed a prescription for flea and tick medication for our dog and a booster shot for kennel cough and called the clinic to make an appointment. During the call, we clearly specified that we would like to forego the regular examination and the receptionist confirmed that it would be no problem at all. After dropping off our pup for no more than 10 minutes, we were asked to pay over $300 and were only offered the itemized receipt after already paying. After reviewing the receipt, not only were we charged over $90 for the exam we were originally told we could forego, the flea and tick medication was nearly twice as expensive as available through other Canadian online pet medication websites. We were completely floored and were told that no refunds were allowed despite calling back immediately after reviewing the itemized receipt. We're extremely disappointed in the lack of transparency, poor service and pricing and will definitely be looking for a different clinic to visit in the future.

I was overjoyed to find that the staff and Westmount are all amazingly kind and patient people, and their efforts to still see patients during the pandemic is incredible. Such friendly staff that truly go the extra mile for you and your pup. They are always so excited to see us and our puppy, making it a very pleasant experience. The vet took time explaining our options for vaccines and preventative medications; the staff then followed up the following day to see how our dog was feeling. We even were encouraged to stop by on walks so that our dog could get a treat and get used to the clinic. Can't recommend this place enough!

Dr. Golbeck is very thorough and has been very good at providing diagnosis and options for treatment. The staff were very kind and thoughtful when one cat passed away and the other had to be put down (at ages 15 and 18 respectively). Our dog hates being in the exam room, but loves the attention from the staff. I can't recommend this clinic enough!

I don't normally write reviews, but am sharing my experience in hopes that it will wake up the staff. They are wildly disorganized and untrained and I fear this will lead to neglectful care of an animal in the future. My cat had an urgent issue so I did not have the benefit to research all clinics beforehand. My cat had a urinary problem, and I was told he needed to be left at the clinic. It should be clear, it is hard to leave your pet with total strangers. I was told he would receive an exam and they would call before proceeding. I checked in after two hours but was told I needed to wait. I received a call after another two hours. They had completed all tests and medicated him without consulting me at all! The vet quickly went over a lot of information with me on the phone and urged me to complete an x-ray, to which I agreed. When I picked him up, they gave me a booklet of info. They didn't explain recovery time, enough about medication, x-ray results. Generally, was he okay? Was he stressed? The experience was really cold. They slammed me with a huge bill and were not open to explanation. My additional questions were an inconvenience. The bill went from $90 to $500 in a flash. I called back about the x-ray results. They said they were already clear. They got too busy and forgot to tell me. This was the most expensive part of my bill. The staff member I spoke with couldn't explain the medications on my bill. They also said they couldn't send me a copy of the x-ray because it wasn't actually an ultrasound. At that moment I felt like I was totally conned by these people, and I was concerned for my cat's well being. My cat was still still sick the next morning. I called very upset and was able to speak to the vet. Only then did I understand he would take a few days to recover. The vet clarified the misinformation the staff member gave me and sent the x-ray copy. The disconnect within the clinic had caused so much grief. My cat is an old boy, and I was frantically researching his meds and trying to decide if he was properly cared for. I had to get a second opinion at a different clinic, so I can confirm the treatment plan was correct. Thankfully, he is now feeling better. However, my cat and myself were mistreated. Westmount was too busy to take him that day and did anyway for extra $. I'm not sure if they even reviewed his history beforehand. Some staff members have reached out to me, but I'm just not interested. This place, to me, feels like the mechanic, where information is vague and the intention is to cash grab. I am totally disappointed and uncomfortable with the level of care at Westmount. I won't be supporting this clinic in the future. There are plenty of quality vets in Calgary, I urge caring pet owners to look elsewhere.

We were so unbelievable impressed with the staff at Westmount! Our frenchie is not a regular patient there but she was very very sick and we called Westmount. Despite them being fully booked, they allowed us to bring her in. They immediately got Peyton on an IV, did bloodwork, ran x-rays and provided urgent care until we transferred her to the vet hospital. We will be eternally grateful to Westmount for being so responsive and saving Peyton’s life. Without reservation, I would recommend Westmount Veterinary Clinic. Thank you!!!!

It was our first visit bringing our adopted rescue into the clinic this week. She was getting her last set of shots and was recovering from a spay that was done at another clinic. The staff were very communicative and friendly from the very first intake call which was a stark contrast to our previous vet. We dropped her off at the clinic due to covid procedures but during her appointment I had the opportunity to speak to the vet and ask any questions. The clinic made us feel comfortable and I knew that our pup was being well taken care of. She was given a complimentary nail trim and a puppy pack which included a toy! The staff is comprised of women that truly know what it means to be considerate, compassionate and deliver great customer service. Keep up the great work, you are truly helping new pet owners like me feel supported.

Friendly staff but EXTREMELY overpriced. They charged me $50 for a nail trim (which they couldn’t finish), tried to charge me $950 to have my pet spayed, and charged me $210 to have her looked at to see if she had a UTI which she did not have any issues. I have been getting her nails clipped at a groomer in Kensington for $10 (done in 2 minutes no problem) and I got her spayed at the Spay and Neuter clinic for $350. No issues. I will not be returning to this vet after today.

My bulldog puppy reacted to some pain medicine after being neutered and my vet office was closed. I called Westmount first thing when they opened to ask if they could possibly fit Lincoln in... they did within an hour and provided him with the medical care he needed. Dr. Bertamini and Carolyn were exceptional with me and Linc and even followed up the next day to ensure the treatments were working. 100% recommend this office - professional, accommodating and attentive to the details. :)
