We have used Millshaven clinic for many years. The care and compassion shown our family has been incredible. They have been with us through awesome times, as well as when we had to put one of our pets down. They were so gentle and kind hearted. We highly recommend this clinic for your family pets.

Two stars because the building itself is modern and appears to have up-to-date equipment. Beyond that, they are lacking. The vets have written down the wrong reasons my dogs were there multiple times, they won't refill prescriptions over the phone (they want you to go in so you have to pay for another appointment), they do not listen to your concerns, and they make you feel like a crappy owner if you can't afford an X-ray or MRI. Will not be going back, and I've heard similar from friends and family.

Our little furbaby was taken care of so well during her teeth cleaning and extraction. We were worried about her because she has never been put under anesthesia. The staff was wonderful and so kind. They answered all my questions and reassured me during the process that she was in good hands. I was also pleasantly surprised when a staff member sent me a picture of our furbaby to let us know she woke up ok from her procedure. I highly recommend this hospital!

Dr Holowaychuk is wonderful. She loves the animals she treats and she respects owners' knowledge and concerns. I'm grateful to have her as our vet. The other vets, techs, and front office staff all are very good with my dog, and have been really pleasant to deal with. I'm not sure if their pricing structure is incredible or if I've just been lucky, but the cost has been surprisingly affordable.

Many of the staff have fear free training to make vet visits as stress free as possible. Although I’m currently employed here, I’m still a pet owner and it’s always scary to have to do any procedures on my own pets. The staff are very loving and patient to my fearful cattle dog mix and made her blood collection as stress free as possible.

Since the sale from Ellie to the VCA machine its all about the numbers. Dont get me wrong the vets treated our fur babies well, but the mandate is sell, sell sell. We took out pup to get a second opinion and were told we definitely don't need x rays to tell him what he already knows.They were however $150.00 compared to VCA's quote of $340.07. The savings didnt stop there, Teeth cleaning quote at VCA $1800. Our new vet $750. I understand the word profit but that's a little much. Glad we found a new home for the doggies!

Phoned day of and they got me in right away! Dr.Nicole Mudryk is absolutely amazing. I had 101 questions and she answered all of them in great detail! Was very honest and caring, could not have asked for better treatment for my fur baby!

Dr Hallowaychuk is an amazing veterinarian! She not only LOVES her fur patients, she is also very knowledgeable. When she hasn't been available, we have seen other vets and they also were great. We enjoy going in because the whole staff are very pleasant. Dr. Hallowaychuk was able to help us with some rare issues we had with out puppy's eyes. The fees are very fair was well! I always feel assured in the care of our beloved doggie!!

This used to be a great clinic but seems it has changed owners. Vet who we used is retired. Got a quote to have our dogs teeth cleaned and they said between $500 and $600. They charged us $720 and our dog woke up earlier then they anticipated, with breathing tube still in and he swallowed some gauze. Reason for the higher price was it was four months latter. 9 year old dog, first teeth cleaning. 4 months made no difference to his teeth. We won't be back.

Second time they refused to see a pet of ours in a near emergency situation. It seems they have gotten bigger but not better. We have switched vets now to the vet that squeezed both those pets in when needed. We were with Mills Haven for well over 20 years and have seen a decline in caring. Thanks to Sherwood vet clinic for caring enough to make exceptions to the clock on the wall. I, as a customer would have always been willing to wait a bit while an emergency was seen and I am sure I'm not alone.

During the spaying of my 6-month old pup, the vet in charge of her surgery opened the valve on the ventilator supplying her with oxygen, but neglected to turn on the exhaust valve. The resulting CO2 buildup caused my puppy to experience cardiac arrest. They revived her, and finished the procedure, but the long-lasting effects of the mistake on my dog are unknown, as the breed is prone to heart problems later in life. Will not return.

We've been using this vet for the past 15+ years, and had always been happy, but it seems like the level of customer service has gone down since Dr. Holowaychuk left (a couple years ago), and the costs have increased substantially. 10% price increase at one time (teeth cleaning has almost tripled). I feel like we are losing confidence in this office.

I was caught off guard at the extreme price increases the clinic underwent since the sale to VCA. I canceled the appointment when told my one dog’s teeth cleaning would be $1700. It’s too outrageous of a price increase when a couple years ago it was $1200 for two dogs. I was told the reasons for the increase was the previous owners didn’t charge for their services, only for costs, and they feel the doctors should be paid. And they do extra procedures like jaw x-rays, for preventative care. Sorry, no way a clinic could remain open for so many years if the staff weren’t being paid. And I’m not paying for extra unnecessary procedure which seems to only pad the bill. The staff, techs, and especially the veterinary doctors are all amazing and truly care for the animals. They were there 100% when my other dog became sick and passed. Thank you for everything you did for him. It’s unfortunate VCA will price the clinic out of the market. Best of luck to the staff.
