I have been bringing my pets to Animal Clinic West since about 2006 and have never been disappointed. Dr. Cyfra has been wonderful over the years, and Dr. Harbour has been an excellent addition to the team. They both are very knowledgeable, and when needed, give a variety of options for diagnostic procedures and treatments that work for both me and my pets. Though the team of veterinary technicians and doctors have changed since 2006, as is bound to happen over time, the compassionate, positive, and welcoming environment has not. You can tell everybody there loves what they do, and it really shines through in their work.

Dr. Blessing was very helpful and really thorough. My cat wasn't eating kibble and was losing a lot of weight. She gave Mason a couple of shots of antibiotics and a shot of B vitamins. Mason is eating kibble again and I couldn't be happier! Thank you Dr. Blessing :)

I can say the first thing you will notice at Animal West Clinic is the friendly staff. The receptionists are extremely pleasant and engaging. You can tell everyone who works there truly cares about animals as they show a genuine interest in your pet, and it's well being. The doctors took the time to help me understand what was going on with my dog. We just got a new puppy and it had a cough (we assumed kennel cough). Dr. Cyfra explained to me on a whiteboard what kennel cough was, and other possibilities of the cough, he then had me listen to our dogs heartbeat and gave me his stethoscope and explained what I was hearing. He treated our pet for a chest cold and within 1 day our pup was better. a week later I came in for boosters, I dealt with Dr. Harbour who was equally as awesome. Dr. Cyrfa took the time to come ask me how our pup was doing and remembered who I was. I can say this is BY FAR the most educated, friendly, customer and pet focused animal clinic I have dealt with. The entire team at Animal Clinic West from reception to the Dr's are amazing. I can say they have a customer for life in us.

Dr. Jodi Harbour is an amazing vet with a great wealth of knowledge. When we recently moved from Toronto to Calgary we were worried about finding another vet that we could trust, but luckily the stars aligned and we found Dr. Harbour. She listens to your concerns and makes sure to be thorough in her examinations as well as education. We have brought both our cat and our dog to see Dr. Harbour and will stick with her as long as we are in Calgary. The receptionists (Christine) as well as the vet techs are also wonderful. We have been attending Animal Clinic West for 3 years. Not only do we appreciate the pet friendly environment and knowledgeable staff, but so does our Boston Terrier, Winston. He loves seeing the friendly faces at Animal Clinic West. The vet was attentive to Winston's needs and seemed genuinely concerned for his well being. The price was a little steep for the ear examine, Vet's information, microscope identification of bacteria, medication, and a cone; however, Winston's worth it! Friendly staff. We didn't like the older male vet though. Sorry. When we had a healthy cat we loved this place, but things went downhill when we bought another (non-healthy) cat. Our new cat was diagnosed with a disease after several tests. Then our cats were put on special medicated diets which did not fix some additional issues, issues that no matter how many times I brought up were not addressed. Those issues should not be linked to the disease they have. Or at least it was never specifically addressed by the vets. The final straw for us to no longer go here was because of the increased costs from tests the doctor would do without stating the cost up front (bill shock) and the proposed costs (regular vitamin B shots, raw rabbit diet, etc). It's a good place, just not for our situation. ps. Elliott doesn't like this place because they took his balls.

What a wonderful experience! Front desk staff were friendly, attentive and punctual. Brought in my dog, Teddy for his annual check up & vaccinations and had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Blessing for our first visit at this clinic. Dr. Blessing was so kind and was generally attentive to my concerns with his overall well being. She was very patient and took her time with the examination, asking questions and making sure I understood everything she was going over. Teddy remained calm and was not one bit anxious for the first time at a vet clinic!

Dr. Jodi Harbour is an amazing vet and person...she is so great with my kitten and always takes the time to explain everything in great detail to me. I highly recommend her - she is very passionate about what she does! The clinic has a great vibe. My only complaint, which is more of a minor irritation (and not their fault!) is that there is no parking lot.

Amazing! This is the place you and your pet want to be at. They are not only very professional but honestly interested in the wellbeing of your pet. I visited a couple of times and people would always be attentive, proactive, and their service is the best. I needed to take my pet on an international travel and they helped greatly. From Kyle investigating forms and printing and noting for me details of the complicated process, to the doctor's great service and flexibility during our visit. Give your pet and yourself the benefit of visiting them.

I was referred to Dr. Blessing by the owner of Unleashed and chose to switch to her after hearing about her knowledge and experience in the raw meat diet. I have a french bulldog puppy and have done my research on the risks/benefits of a raw meat diet and it make me feel extremely at ease having a Veterinarian who has experience in this area. We visited Dr. Blessing to get my puppy her rabies shot but her and her team took the time to answer all of my questions about raw meat and how much I should be feeding my puppy, about getting spayed, preventative nasal surgery, teeth, rashes, and even a free nail clipping. We were there for over an hour and didn't feel rushed at all. We had 3 attendants the whole time and was given top notch service. We would definitely recommend this clinic!

The vets always make you feel like your pets are the cutest things they ever seen (which of course they are), and I am never worried to leave them in their capable hands. Can not even begin to describe the AMAZING service this clinic provides. We recently moved and needed a new vet, they went above and beyond to help us schedule an appointment when we needed it. The vet did an outstanding job at explaining everything in "non medical" terms to us, cuddled with our dog, took over an hour to talk about all of our concerns (not just medical but also behavioural). The appointment was followed up with a phone call and detailed email with a plan to work on our dogs anxiety, diet, allergies. Our second visit (due to an ear infection) was as good as the first one, both vets really took the time, they showed interest, they did not push for additional expensive services but recommended what they thought was necessary. I also appreciated the fact that the vets are open to raw diets, most vets I have seen in Calgary do not recommend them and struggle to work with you if your pet is on a raw food diet.

When we were looking for a vet for our first cat we were happy to see that there was one so close to our home. We figured we would try it out and if need be move to another if the service wasn't what we were expecting. Now, a year and a half later, and with a second kitty as well, we couldn't be happier with our decision to take them to Animal Clinic West. We have predominantly seen Dr. Harbour and she is just so wonderful with both of them and also extremely thorough. She makes sure we are completely informed about what is going on with them and will explain anything we don't understand. I also feel like there is never pressure to take a medication or treatment unless absolutely needed, they are always presented as options and she very transparently explains the benefits or risks. Our cats are very loving but rarely sit still on a lap or in arms and my husband and I are always impressed with how she calms them and can hold them for almost their entire appointment! We have also seen Dr. Blessing who was wonderful and we find all the other staff to be extremely pleasant and kind.

I started taking my puppy to Animal Clinic west on a recommendation from a friend. Everyone there is extremely personable and kind from the front desk to the Veterinarians. Each time I needed to book an appointment I was able to get in quickly and at the time that worked best for me. My puppy loves the people there because of how well they do with him and I would highly recommend going there. Great overall experience.

We can't say enough amazing things about Dr Harbour and the team at Animal Clinic West. We first saw her for a puppy wellness exam and she went over a ton of info with us and talked vaccine schedules and nail clipping and answered all of our new puppy parent questions. Then when we had issues with our puppy shortly after bringing her home, Dr Harbour took the time to thoroughly explain all of our options, gave us realistic treatments to get our little puppy feeling better and answered all of our many, many questions. The test results came in on a day she wasn't working and so Dr Cyfra took time out of his day to go over the results with us and provide a plan until we could talk to Dr Harbour the next day. BEYOND happy that we brought our little puppy Stella to Animal Clinic West where she's already been taken such good care of. We've seen other vets for other pets in the past and none have ever been as helpful or as supportive as Dr Harbour and the team at Animal Clinic West. We would absolutely recommend Dr Harbour to anyone in need of an incredibly smart, caring and kind vet.

My 3yr old Male Tabby had quite the irritated lower front tooth. I was able to get in for an exam quickly as a new patient, and his surgery and dental cleaning was scheduled for a week later. I was a nervous wreck, and the staff called me to let me know how he was doing and how it went and put my heart at ease. When it came time to pick him up, the Dr was very thorough with going over post op, the specifics, and handed me the teeth removed in a little tube for a keepsake! I will be bringing my other 2 here and so happy I found you guys!

After her spay surgery, there were some complication we had to deal with, and Dr. Harbour personally called to check in. This placed used to be our go to for our animals but as of late it just seems to be a money grab. Everything is extremely expensive without merit. Our estimate for a neutering cost was around $600 dollars, when for the exact same surgery and services provided we only payed $130 at Deerfoot spay and neuter (which I highly recommend.) And for a $40 allergy shot for my dog, it costed us $220 (because of the “checkup” where they didn’t actually do anything but tell us that he allergies, which we already knew.) The service here is usually pretty good but no service is worth the high prices you pay here.

Every single person that works here is amazing!! I’ve moved around a lot so I’ve taken my little guy to tons of vets and he has always hated them but I’ve never had a better experience at the vet than I have had here. Dr. Harbor and everyone else there always take the time to answer all my questions, they try and make my cat (and my new dog) feel very comfortable and they make an effort to make it a positive experience for us each time we visit, even if it’s only for a quick checkup. First, let me say that I’m a new puppy parent and my anxiety about taking quality care of him is dialed up to say the least. ACW was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn’t be happier with the care my Kevin (and I) receive. Dr. Blessing and Dr. Harper have been so patient and good to us. My Kevin is a lemon (but he’s my lemon!) and has been sick since the day I brought him home. The clinic is very responsive to my calls and emails, and trust me, there are a lot of them. They have taken the time to go over how I should care for him, everything from how to trim his nails, clean his ears, to evaluating his diet. They really do care. The vets are honest with me about Kevin’s situation, never telling me what I should do, but giving me the options and being supportive. I have never been made to feel rushed, ignorant or judged. I couldn’t ask for a better clinic. The vets and staff are top-notch.

If you have all the time available this place could work for you. What is funny is that they call you to verify the appointment several times but when you get there they make you wait for a long time and after waiting they tell you that they are going to take longer. This is disrespectful of people's time. In the end I had to leave without completing the appointment for my dog.

One of the best things Emery did for us was euthanize our 16-yr old dog at home, so that she didn't have to go through the trauma of going into the clinic on her last day. this clinic is simply outstanding. I took my new cat there, and all the staff were friendly, professional, caring. Dr. Harbour was our vet, and she, and the tech working with her, were amazing. Dr. Harbour examined my cat top to bottom, and made me and my kitty feel relaxed throughout. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, definitely loved her profession,gave very sound advice, very personable, the best vet I have seen in the 40 years I have owned pets. She took the time to listen to all my concerns, and answered every question I had. She was so nice on how she pointed out all the good qualities of my cat. The owner of the clinic took the time to shake my hand and welcome me and the kitty to the clinic. All the staff were amazing. The location and parking is horrendous, but Dr. Harbour and the Animal Clinic West will be our vet from now on.

He received a good, thorough inspection that wasn't rushed at all, and the price was more than fair. In fact, it was just a hair over $100 as I recall, which is much less than other places I've been. I'd highly recommend this place.

What a great clinic!! Dr. Blessing and Kyle (and all other front desk staff) were amazing. I was given the costs upfront before anything was done and all of my questions were answered thoroughly. Dr. Blessing even took the time to call me to check up on my cat and email me a list of suggestions. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone!

This is a very user friendly clinic. I had to find a new vet and found this clinic to be very friendly/ down to earth/ easy to talk to and ask questions/ not to mention good with dogs -in my case. In addition, very accommodating. So one of my dogs eats a full box of chocolate on Christmas eve and I call in a panic and they make room for us and handle the situation! Just an all round dependable clinic. Highly recommend them.
