I can’t explain how much their love and support meant to me last week when we had to put down our beloved 10 year fur baby. I just edited my rating to 5 stars. ???????????????????? This place is so accommodating of my little guy (an energetic Morkie named Buddy) and other pets that I've seen when in and out. I trust them with my furkid and always find the front staff, vet technicians and doctors to be very thorough and helpful. I really appreciate the caring people at Sturgeon Animal Hospital and recommend them whenever someone is looking for a vet. Btw, they have moved to their new location (near Coscto) and curbside food pick-up worked well on my first visit. I'm hoping to tour the new facility (when #COVID19AB rules allow) but will continue to use them regardless. They are technically further from my home (driving distance) but I would have followed them anywhere! ???? #LoveThem ????

My dog was having GI issues that had the potential to require surgery. Sturgeon didn’t have the equipment to do it non surgically, rather than just operating and taking my money sturgeon referred me to a vet with an endoscope. He was able to have the mass cleared with out being cut. Sturgeon put the needs of my dog ahead of profits, they are great people!

I called here this afternoon frantic and in tears, as my dog was having a severe allergic reaction to vaccines she received this morning. Her whole face was swollen, her eyes were barely open, she was vomiting and lethargic. The lady on the phone simply said, we are closed in a half hour and all booked up. In any other circumstance, this would have been fine. It was urgent and every second counted. I feel like an appropriate response would have been to assist. I live five minutes from this clinic. Thankfully I was able to find another clinic in St. Albert that simply said, yes bring her in. We all love our pets and a little bit of flexibility can make all the difference.

My 6.5 year old boxer had ACL surgery 2 weeks ago and Dr. Wien's and all the ladies were amazing. Thank you for always showing us compassion for Rooney. He loves you all so much. My senior shih tzu had surgery done on her eye back in june by Dr. Rory, we were referred by our regular vet and i only have great things to say!! Coco had an ulcer in her eye, we went to two other vets before we got an appointment at sturgeon animal hospital and the other places had told us that we should remove her eye. after having a consultation with dr rory he told us that he can save her vision and her eye! I was so relieved..she is healing great, shes usually grumpy but seems like a completely different dog now after her surgery. i’m so grateful to all the staff at Sturgeon animal hospital

My kitty had injured herself on a Thursday night. i was able to call Sturgeon first thing Friday monring and they were able to accomodate me. The receptionist was very polite and caring as I was under alot of stress. I have seen 2 different vets at the clinic and they are nothing but professional. I fully expected to have to pay lab fees and xrays, but they tried to fix my kitty without racking up a huge bill. i would recommend this clinic to any one who wants the best for their pet.

We would like to thank Dr. Watts and Sturgeon Animal Hospital for the service we received today. We brought out dog in as he had an ear infection which we knew was a secondary issue to an allergy and Dr. Watts took the time to go over all the details WITHOUT saying that the only way to help was running an exhaustive list of tests. Thank you, Dr. Rory Wiens and the staff of Sturgeon Animal Hospital for ensuring that my most beloved pet, Stella, was well taken care of until the last moments of her life. It was a devastating and utterly heartbreaking moment for me and my husband but they helped us get through the tragedy with their small acts of kindness and compassion. They went above and beyond even if Stella was not their regular patient. Our own regular vet clinic turned Stella away, blundered in not processing the tests previously conducted, and refused to reimburse us as promised by the staff. The card and Stella's paw prints that Sturgeon Animal Hospital sent were very thoughtful and sincere and somehow helped to ease our pain. We really appreciate everything they had done for us. I just wished we came here much sooner instead of going to the other vet clinic whom Stella had a preventative care plan (which they utterly failed to warn us of any signs and symptoms of a serious health problem). It was too late and our baby could no longer be saved... Perhaps my dog would still be alive. We highly recommend this vet clinic. They love animals and they care for them deeply. They are in this business for the right reasons and profit maximization is not their primary motivation. Any pets would be very lucky to have Dr. Rory Wiens as their vet. Comaniuk Family

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Rory and the staff at Sturgeon Animal Hospital. My dog, Banks, required "emergency" eye surgery as he had a very bad cornea ulcer. Rory and his staff accommodated us and changed their schedule so Banks could be seen immediately for surgery. During our follow-up appointment, Rory determined that Banks needed to have a second procedure - which again he was taken in immediately, after hours to tend to his eye. After his two surgeries, I called and popped by numerous times as I had a million questions and concerns for the vet techs - they were always happy and more than willing to provide support. I will absolutely be coming to Sturgeon Animal Hospital for all my vet care needs, moving forward. :)

One day last week I found my dog Oliver a chihuahua dachshund cross, licking, what looked to be a cyst and bleeding. I called this clinic in the morning and had an appointment booked for that afternoon no problem. It was a curbside appointment which I felt a little uneasy about at first but it went very smoothly. I called the office upon arrival gave the vet tech all of our information and she came out almost immediately to take Oliver in for his appointment. I then waited in my car for the Dr.'s phone call to give me the prognosis. He explained that it was a cyst that needed draining and was infected. He said that he drained it and offered to drain two other cysts as well with only local freezing. The Dr. then brought Oliver out in about 20 mins and explained the whole procedure and how to care for Oliver's wounds and said that I could bring Oliver back in a couple weeks to have the stiches removed for free. A few minutes later the vet tech came out with medications and the remote credit car device, explained everything that I needed to do for the next 14 days and asked me again if I had any questions. This was probably the most probably the most relaxing non stressful vet visit that I have ever experienced. Oliver did not seemed upset in any way. I would definitely recommend this clinic to any one and will continue bringing my dog to this clinic without a doubt.

Had an excellent experience today at Sturgeon Animal Hospital. We were referred to Dr Weins by our regular vet in Stony Plain to further investigate our pup’s eye. Surprisingly, we got an appointment within a day or two. We drove almost 40 minutes for our appointment; he came highly recommended by our vet. SAH Reception staff were not only helpful but very friendly and attentive. Dr Weins was super patient with our anxious pup and made the eye exam as smooth as possible. The exam room was very clean and Dr Weins had all the tools necessary to complete a very thorough eye exam and a skin sample/scrape. The appointment included a battery of tests which in the end, required three prescriptions. I was expecting a huge bill but was pleasantly surprised. I would recommend Sturgeon Animal Hospital to anyone.

5 stars isn't enough for this animal hospital. I am a new cat mom, just adopted back around Christmas and all the staff here have been absolutely fabulous. I've gotten Dexter all of his shots and got him neutered at the beginning of March, you all went above and beyond to make me feel at ease with all the processes.
