I took my pup Blue here yesterday after showing some symptoms of some kind of respiratory infection. The reception staff were able to squeeze me in quickly (same day!) and assessed Blue's situation. They were very professional and courteous. The Tech did an exceptional job on getting the history from Blue, and after a very short wait the Vet came in to check up on Blue and ease my worries. Stony Plain Vet Clinic will be my vet from now on, hands down.

Brought my cat in to get her nail clipped and I waited in the waiting room hearing my cat screaming (my cat IS a bit of a drama queen, to be fair) but that was followed by sounds of laughter from the vet and the assistant. More giggling and laughing (not sure if they were telling eachother jokes or what) while my cat stressed and screamed. They walk out grinning and my cat looks like she's been through the worst experience of her life, not any regard given to the fact that I could hear them laughing through the door. I don't care if my cat is dramatic, hearing them laugh and giggle through an obviously traumatizing even for my pet isn't something I easily forget or forgive. Most certainly the worst vet experience of my life and will not go back.

I feel as if once the staff starts to care about animals and customer service they leave for another vet clinic so the staff turnover is high. The wait times here are ridiculous as well. I suggest to take your animal to Meridian or elsewhere.

Well worth the drive from Edmonton!!! Our Chiweenie Lucy became very sick with a lot of vomiting, diarrhia and severe dehydration last week. Our regular vet in Edmonton (Granville) would not take her in as said they were too busy. They suggested we try another vet so we took her to you guys. You were not too busy to take care of her and were absolutely wonderful!!! I cannot believe how much time you spent with us explaining what treatment options were available. I am also sooo impressed by the amount of concern and love you showed for our Lucy and how understanding and empathetic all your staff were towards myself and my wife Linda, We lost our dog Josie last year and Lucy means the world to us and all of you certainly made us feel comfortable leaving her in your hands. We brought her home tonite and she is doing great thanks to your care. Linda and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts and will definitely HIGHLY RECOMMEND your clinic to all of pet loving friends.

Amazing !!!! This team works together to assure your fur baby is looked after and safe. I have a grumpy old man chihuahua other clinics sedate him to even get close trim his nails and not over stress him. This team was friendly very welcoming of the challenge of our guy ! Not afraid of him at all. Danielle greeted us with Covid protocols and was so friendly and welcoming I was reassured right away handing over our fur baby. He did amazing with Kelsey. I figure they are true chihuahua whispers and understand the breed. They were 100% prepared. It was inexpensive and they did NOT even need to sedate him. !! Wondering where to take your fur baby who loves you and only you ? I recommend this team !

During the height of Covid we had to say goodbye to our dog, and they were great at making sure we each got a turn saying goodbye even with the strict rules of covid. Very compassionate people.

I have been bringing my animals to see Dr. Warwick for what feels like forever. She has always been so sympathetic when our animals have crossed the rainbow bridge and the office let me sit, holding my cat, ugly crying the day I had to put her down for hours in one of the examining rooms. I recently brought my 4 year old dog to have her knee examined. The x-rays indicated that the CCL had torn and doggo was going to need surgery. Dr. Warwick provided literature explaining all my options and allowed me to think about which route to take. I appreciate all the care and love she gives all of our furry friends.

The owner of this place has very big mood swings which all of her employees suffer under that's why there is a new front receptionist every few weeks. I have never heard a good story from anyone that used to work there people get treaded horrible from the owner. Also their prices are much higher than comparable vet clinics. If you want to get over charged and bad vibes from all the staff (stemming from the owner) this is the place to visit! But id recommend save your self the headache and visit another vet clinic.

We've been taking our 3 dogs to Stony Plain Vet Clinic since 2016 so I feel like I can accurately speak to the change I've noticed since the clinic has been under new ownership. I've noticed a big difference in wait times now, the clinic used to always be SO busy and you would be waiting forever to be seen by a dr. and then waiting again to pay, but things seem to be much more organized now. It's a more pleasant experience for customers for sure. I also really like that they direct bill to Trupanion now, makes the customer experience more seamless. I have seen Dr. Lamont several times with two of my dogs. He has a very calming presence and is open to what I have to say as well. Recently, he's gone above and beyond with trying to get my beagle the best care, which I really appreciate. We will continue taking our dogs here and have recommended this clinic to family as well.

Took my dog in for his shots today. I had read other reviews on here, but my dog and I had a great experience. The front staff were very welcoming and friendly with me and my small dog. The atmosphere was very relaxed. The Vet was incredible and you can tell she really cares about the animals. It was the first time I had taken my rescue dog for his booster shots, and the vet gave them so efficiently, my dog didn't even notice. She is wonderful with the animals and I'll now be making this my go-to clinic.

Everyone here is quite helpful and understanding. We’ve been going here since we first got our puppy in February, and we haven’t been let down. Our puppy just recently got fixed and they were super great with her and her incision looked great. They went over everything with us after her surgery. Very happy with SPVC and it’s staff!

High prices, bad service, poor management. I went to this vet for 11 years because my dogs were familiar with it and I didn't want to mess with that, but I can finally say that I will never go back there. They treated me horribly, with harsh judgement, when we had to put our dog down in August, and it was already one of the hardest things that we've ever had to do. After this experience, which was enough on its own, and the many times that I've waited too long, paid too much, and experienced bad service, I've had enough.

We have taken our fur babies here for years and everyone there from reception and vet techs to the doctors are caring and do everything they can for us. Dr. Bell is especially fantastic and takes good care of our Isabelle. We wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

We had gotten a kitten a week ago. After 2 days with us, he stopped eating and was lethargic. My husband brought him in to see Dr. Wark and she gave him an antibiotic to try to combat a suspected viral infection. He ended up getting worse so Dr. Wark offered to hospitalize him for free so she could give him the best fighting chance. In the end, we had to let him go cause the infection affected his neurological functions but we are grateful to the clinic staff and Dr. Wark for doing everything to help our little guy.

I was really pleased with Dr. Arran Lamont. Explained everything and gave options. Good follow up. They are a bit more expensive than the previous owner but in line with other clinics. The medications were the most expensive they always are.

They are caring and compassionate while being professional and efficient. Came to this vet with a friend and her dog a month or so ago. My friend has some health issues, and I was shocked that the female vet was not wearing a mask and actually seemed sick! (Coughing, hoarse voice). I was shocked that a medical professional was doing this during rampant covid, you’re standards need to be way higher. Does she wear a mask in surgery? If so why not to protect vulnerable clients?! Do better

Unfortunately I cant give 0 stars. I have been taking my 2 dogs to Shannon for 7 years, 2 surgeries, 2 euthanasia's. I recently had to have my 9 year old Pitt bull put down. I bought two Frenchie pups a month later. Saturday morning I called Stony Vet to express concerns that they were both ill and i suspected parvo, they spent the entire day leading me on until 3 pm when they finally told me to bring them down to be tested, they both tested positive. After agreeing to a course of 48 hour treatment and a price of $816 per pup, we put them into the isolation room. Shannon came out to my car and told me she wouldn't feel comfortable treating my pups and I should take them to the city hospital. I couldn't believe my own vet would refuse to treat my pups on the basis of a IV pump might 'fail' and they would 'die'. Actually without the help of my vet they were going to die.Then she went on to say that I hadn't really come 'there' often ?? showing she doesn't even know her own customers. Then she literally kicked my pups out the back door. I nursed them myself Saturday night and Sunday, Monday I called Spruce Grove Vet and was welcomed. The price is less and depends on what they need to do to make the pups healthy, which should be the reason a vet becomes a vet. Thoroughly disgusted with Shannon to say the very least.

While My vet 'Morgan' not sure of her last name, was absolutely amazing and helped my dog out and put my mind at ease during our visit she proceeded to tell me that my dog is "underweight" - I did my research and my dog is at a perfect weight. They use this tactic to make your pet fat so you come back and then pay for them to put your pet on a diet. Wish they didn't operate this way as I do not feel comfortable with taking him anywhere else. Fair prices and nice enough staff - seems they shuffle receptionists constantly & are always hiring.. wonder why?

They were great. I was looking at January dates most elsewhere to get my poor buddy Drake help, Stony Plain Vet Clinic was able to get him in two days after I called. He was there for approximately 9 hours and in that time the staff there contacted me twice to give me updates and Dr. Lammont called me himself to let me know how the procedure went, exactly what all was done and how to proceed moving forward. On top of all this he even offered to accept payments on any outstanding balance we might have had as we were unsure if we could cover the full amount in these tough times, we were able to do so thankfully. The nurses and front staff were also very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to recommendations on what to feed Drake for the next couple weeks, problems to watch for, and how to start him on allowing us to brush his teeth from now on. It has been almost a week since surgery and Drake is almost fully back to his spry, playful, happy self. Thank you Dr. Lammont and all the staff at the Stony Plain Vet Clinic!

Our dog, previously a patient of theirs, suddenly became very ill on Friday. We called and they would not see him. We had to take him to another vet clinic, one we had never been to before and who were also fully booked, yet agreed to see him. They did diagnostic testing and provided medication within a couple of hours. We were able to bring our dog home that same day, where he unfortunately passed. We were able to bring him back to the other vet that same evening for cremation services; they even refunded the medication he didn’t use without us asking. We will no longer use Stony Plain Vet services and will not recommend them to anyone.

I have been going to this vet for over 10 years now. They are skilled, reasonably priced and some of the most caring people around. I have never been unhappy with the treatment they have provided. Their sheer love of animals shows. I would recommend this vet practice to anyone asking. They are worth the drive from Edmonton. Thank you Dr Wawryk and Associates for your amazing care.

It may just be due the times we live in today, but I am not sure what to say. I went to the clinic on a Friday to get a prescription renewal. I was met at the door and my info taken. I would receive a call within 24 hours. Knowing it was a weekend, I gave it to Monday. On Tuesday, I then called in my request and left it on the number prompt of the answering machine. Now, 6 days later (27 April 2020) still no call. I enjoyed the attention and care given by the Vet(s) on both times I visited, but perhaps it is time to go somewhere else for the eye drops.

Dr. Shannon and the staff are amazing with the animals and the exams/vaccines and surgeries are all extremely reasonably priced. I got a surgery done for my dog for a fifth of the price that another vet was quoting me- and the quality of the surgery was phenomenal. The check up exam was also half of what anywhere else was charging (about $75 at this clinic). Absolutely phenomenal and will continue to take my dog here.

My cat was very sick. She spent the night there and I picked her up the next day. They asked me to bring them back a stool sample. I took a stool sample in and was told that I would have results in up to a week. So I waited and waited... no one called. When I called them they acted like they were confused with me wanting to know the results. I still haven't heard anything. That was months ago. So... I called to have my records transferred to a new vet. It was all good... at first. Then I get a call back (at the cell number that they have on file) that they will not transfer the files unless I email them. I have never had an issue with transferring files before. I think they just know that it will be an imposition for me, because they can make me wait outside, because of covid. I would never recommend this Veterinary clinic to anyone!!

I would also like to give a 0. I moved to Alberta in 2016 and after moving to Spring Lake, I started going to see Stony Plain Veterinary Clinic for my elder dog. She has some teeth issues, and the daughter of Shannon (Clinic owner) recommended all her teeth be removed. I was dismayed. After speaking to Shannon later, she assured me they wouldn’t do that and her daughter was a new vet. It was a positive experience until I booked a check on a lump approximately 18 months later. I had found more lumps before the appointment and my dog was declining in health, showing signs of progressive dementia. A week before the appointment, I moved the date and changed the appointment type to euthanize after a consult. Upon arrival, the reception thought it was a lump check, I said no. Then they kept saying a different pet name, which I found out was a euthanized cat, so I said no this is my dogs name. Then I went in the room, and Shannon came in. I spent 10 minutes feeling chastized for bringing my dog and being told about meds I could put her on when she was already a bit of a zombie on them. She said well its not my dog and its not my choice. Then she literally picked up my dog without telling me what she was doing and started to carry her out of the room. When I asked where she was going I was told in a harsh tone ‘to put in a catheter line’. She left I broke down and was sobbing by the time she came back. I told her maybe I should go somewhere else. She then apologized and said she just thought it was a lump check. She proceeded to lay my dog on the dog bed, and put the needle in. No explanation, no empathy, no bedside manner, I was sobbing and after 1/2 of the needle was in my dog wasn’t breathing. No information given, no walking me through the process. I got a brief hug and was left alone with my dog. She came back and I left. I have never in all my years of being a dog and cat owner, and a person who rescues pets and has been given accolades by my long term vet in another province.....I have never been treated so poorly. I will never go back, except to pick up the foot imprint I paid for. I will be looking for another vet, one that cares, one that likes her patients and takes the time to ‘hear and listen’ and talk to owners.
