This was our kitten's first experience with a vet. Dr. Graber is a real animal lover and I like the small family practice atmosphere. I expected our kitten to be scared, hissing and scratching but Dr. Graber did a check up, weight and first vaccination with no problem. Kind caring staff and very reasonable rates.

I am finding it difficult to believe anyone could have a negative review of this clinic. I have found this veterinary clinic to be excellent at all times and in all ways. They have reduced their costs for me when my cat needed extended care, they always remember both mine and my pet's names, they touch my cat in a friendly and caring way and have recommended medicines and techniques over the years that have proved invaluable. I would recommend Dr Jim Duggan to anyone! I have personally been in the office when other vets have come in to ask his advice and even to ask him to lead a surgery they were unsure of doing themselves. We moved to the other side of town a year and a half ago but I would never consider changing vets to a closer one. I would much rather have a truly caring person caring for my pet than someone more convenient. Please ignore any negative reviews. This man is extremely experienced and cares alot for animals. I had my female dog spayed at Red Deer vet clinic and noticed a couple months later that the stitches I was told were disolvable were still coming out and causing blisters on my girls tummy.I phoned and was told it was normal and not to worry about it this continued to happen every once in awhile over 4 years then Recently my dogs whole tummy got swollen so I took her to a different vet where they removed a bunch of non-dislovable stitches from her tummy and scar tissue. I called Red Deer vet clinic and talked to the son of the vet,All he had to say was that they were disolvable sutures called Chromic catgut sutures and it was too bad that happened. No apology or concern for my dog ,no sorry for them blowing me off for years nothing. Not only did their mistake cost me $400 but it also cost my dog being uncomfortable for years plus the pain for another surgery. Also when they did the surgery 4 years ago they clipped my dogs nails way too short and made a mess of her ear with the biggest tatt I have ever seen in a dogs ear.Very disappointing experience.

I had a Yorkie pup ("Baby") that was diagnosed with a liver shunt at about 10 weeks of age. This type of liver disease is fatal unless you are able to have the surgery done by a specialist to clamp off the shunt which is about $5000 and no guarantee it will work. Dr. Dugan and his son John, provided me with an abundance of knowledge and support on this condition as well as emotional support and a friendly ear to vent to. My sweet Baby passed away in my arms on August 4, 2012. Her life expectancy was approx. 1 yr but with a ton of love and support lived very happily for 23 months. I missed my baby girl terribly but will never forget the support I received from the Dugan family.....thank you!!

Literally the BEST vet I’ve been to. My cat got super quick and needed a vet ASAP they said bring him in right away and I was seen immediately. The vet was incredibly knowledgeable and super compassionate. You could tell he just wanted the animal to get better. This clinic went above and beyond answered questions I had and instructed me to help my cat. I will be recommending this vet to everyone as well as switching to this vet. Hands down my favorite veterinarian in red deer. We took our bichon shihtzu to him to get some teeth removed a while back and he had the best prices in the city, the customer service is more than exceptional, and the help is greatly appreciated. Right now we take our pup to this clinic for regular eye checkups and they are extremely knowledgeable and kind. This will be my regular vet clinic for as long as it is around.

Dr. Dugan has our heartfelt appreciation for the excellent standard of care and concern he shows for our pets and us each time we visit his office. Called for a quote to remove quills from my beagle. The quote went from 150 maybe $200 to almost 360 because they had to have him on the table for another 10 minutes. Not only that only the next day I found more quills on the inside of his leg that they had missed. I called with my concerns that night as I have to work the day shift. The vet called me back in the morning telling me to bring him in but not disclosing that they would be further charging me for the appointment. You would think that with less than 24 hours of him being out of the vet that they would show some sort of guarantee to their work, since that is what you pay for. I do believe that someone should have disclosed to me over the phone that they would be charging me further amounts to remove these quills otherwise I would have just done it myself. My beagle was in serious pain and the vet told me that I should have checked my beagle after I had picked him up. Unfortunately I do not agree and feel that he should have done a better job. The remaining quills that were found were sticking out of the skin and we're obviously there while he was there the first time. Although the staff were courteous enough as a family on a budget I did not appreciate the ridiculous pricing gouging because I love my animal. Then charging me again another $50 not disclosing to me before I dropped him off when I thought I made it very clear that I was unhappy with how much my vet bill had jumped up from the quote over the phone to what I had to pay at the first time. I would not recommend this place or it's money-hungry ridiculously unprofessional and obviously losing his touch if he had any in the first place vet. I can't wait for the day when they regulate the veterinarian industry and animal lovers like me can afford to have our animals taken care of properly.

Red Deer Vet Clinic is the best in town in my humble opinion. My fiancee's dog has had ongoing issues with itching and allergies. Dr. Graber was attentive and listened to our concerns. He addressed all our questions and gave us a few different options to try. His assistant Emma was very informative and helpful with picking out an allergy food for our pup. Overall the service is great and their customer service is second to none!

Looks like my family was the only negative experience. Very friendly place, you can tell the owners care alot. I did not find the examination of my dog very throurough. He gave us alot of information but it was not the right diagnosis. After taking our dog to a different vet the very next day due to the fact that our dog got dramatically worse. We realized alot of obvious signs this vet had missed. He did not ask very many questions, but gave us a diagnosis of an over worked heart and muscle deteriation, which was possibly due to old age. Prescribed us with the wrong medication because the diagnosis was not the right one. An absolute waste of 300$. After seeing the emergency vet the next day, our sweet pooch passed away 36 hours later.
