I have been going to Parkland Vet Hospital for two years now and have received nothing but exceptional service! I live in Calgary but refuse to go anywhere else. They really do have the best interest for your pets and truly care. I have two, two-year-old cats who have both unfortunately gotten really sick in the past, but the staff at Parkland Vet quickly got them on their feet again. A big THANK YOU to all the staff! You are very much appreciated for everything you've done and continue to do for our beloved pets!

Dr Keating is an amazing vet and her staff are all super friendly and make you feel at home. She never upsells her services, but only recommends what your pet truly needs. They phone to follow up on your pet and offer free follow up exams after she has treated your pet to make sure all is well. Hands down, the best vet.

I brought my first 2 Airedales and my current cat to Dr. Lana at Parkland Vet clinic when the clinic was located in Red Deer during 2002-2011. In 2016, I moved back down south to Calgary and happily made the drive to the new clinic at Sylvan Lake to have my 18 month old Airedale neutered there. Not only was it more affordable than Calgary rates, I felt much better having him operated on by someone I trust! Thanks to the staff and Dr. Lana. Glad to be back in the area and a short drive away!

Terrible, insensitive mannerisms from one of your staff members during my family's visit today. I didn't catch his name, but the male vet on your team was appalling with how rude he was. Our dog had to be put down, and we wanted to give him a walk before it happened, and your male staff member was incredibly rude, telling us that "we are closing soon and you need to make it quick", despite the emotional distress that was caused by having to put the dog down. There was no care for how we were feeling, and he seemed to not even care about how traumatic it is to lose a family pet. The ladies who were the Vet assistants were very sweet and sympathetic to our situation. I just wish the actual Vet had been better with being sympathetic and understanding.

DO NOT make the same mistake I did by choosing this clinic. I went in with a healthy puppy and 2 weeks later he died due to vaccinations. They have yet to truly apologize or take on ANY actual responsibility for what happened and their role in it. Instead they have tried pinning everything on myself and made the assumption that he must have been sick prior to our visit with them. A 13 week old HEALTHY puppy; health does not coincidently dramatically deteriorate the DAY AFTER his appointment. The WORST experience with the WORST closed minded bunch. Thanks for absolutely nothing. Look elsewhere for quality treatment of yourself and pets.

Just had my Angora bunny groomed by Chelsea. She was AMAZING. So so gentle with my bunny. He was surrendered with severe matting and she spent 2 hours trimming him up. I will definitely be returning requesting Chelsea.

I will always recommend Lana (Dr. Keating), I have been with her for many years, in a few emergencies of course on a Sunday or long weekend) I've had to go elsewhere - a very emotionally painful experience which I hopefully never have to repeat. I not only have many animals of my own, I also foster animals. Lana has been very helpful in teaching me what to look out for if there are minor issues to deal with and how to best take care of all my critters. She has more passion for animals and their owners than I have ever seen in any other vet. Just a few weeks ago we lost a very special kitten to a dog, by the time I got there (with no warning call to her) our baby was gone. She (Lana) was amazing in helping me through an extremely painful situation (not the first we have been through with her). I can't praise her and her staff enough with how well I am taken care of!

Dr Lana and her staff are very professional and loving towards our goldendoodle puppies and our adult dogs have no fear of going to the vet. The pups are hugged andfussed over, before and during their through vet check and shots! We have been taking our dogs, puppies and cats to Parkland Veterinary for many years in .Red Deer and have followed them to Sylvan!

EDIT: Since posting this review Dr. D has changed offices, so I would no longer recommend Parkland Vet. While the previous reviewer is correct, some of the staff are rude, I also know a few people who work there that are really great as well. And they are aware of the issue and have been doing everything they can to weed out the "problem" staff and provide better customer service. (and may have already done so by now) I plan on volunteering my time there starting this summer. As far as my experiences there go, I've never had a problem. I've been taking my pets there for years. From my first cast, who they neutered free of charge. To my roommate's cat, which Dr. D. (she's amazing) handled with the greatest care when she was sick and ended up passing away. To the two cats I own now, which I adopted from the clinic after they were rescued by my aunt (who works there) and Dr. D. that no one wanted to take in because they were feral and needed socialising. But Dr. D saw their potential, and convinced me to "foster" them before she would have been forced to put them down, which obviously led to my adopting them. Some of the extra staff may not care like they should, but if you're looking for a quality VET... Dr. D is the best in the city without a doubt! She won't sugar coat a situation to give you false hope either. And I appreciate that! Because there's nothing worse than having hope only to have it crushed. I hope she stays with the clinic for a long time.

I've been bringing my pets to Parkland Vet Hospital for years - Lana is a wonderful veterinarian and I can't imagine going anywhere else. I got my rescue dog here and they took great care of him and now takes care of my 2 cats. The hospital is exceptionally clean, and the staff are very professional and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this clinic to anyone who loves their pet !

Dr. Keating and her team at Parkland Vet Hospital have been looking after my pets for over 15 years. I have nothing but the best to say about the care and attention that they have given to me and my pets. Thank you to Dr Keating and the great staff of Parkland Vet, Sylvan Lake. They looked after Jax for the last 10 years. Everything was always explained very well and options were always given for any treatment that was required. Jax lived to be just over 13 years old but sadly passed at the end of March. If and when I adopt a new pet I will be using Parkland Vet again as my vet.

This is the best vet clinic I have been to. They take such amazing care of my pups when we are there and the girls are all so friendly. I've used their vet services, kennel services and grooming services. Bonita, the new groomer, does and excellent job and is very conscientious about her work. I have called numerous times for advice and the staff have always been very helpful. I would definitely recommend Parkland to anyone looking for a vet clinic!

This review is "not" made by Michaela Douglas but rather Tammy Loeffler -not sure why my daughter's name has been added automatically on " my computer". These are by no means her opinion but mine as well as my experience. I was asked today February 8, 2018, nicely by the Vet to take my posting down regarding my experience with re-homing my little man Max. Even with conversation with the Vet today, my wish still stand that due to not being able to afford the cost of having Max's patella injury fixed...given my financial situation due to my medical expenses, and my debilitating illness my wish that day in September was to have my little man put down. That opinion today still has not changed as I would have closure and know that he is up in Heaven with Jesus and that he would be pain free, loved, and waiting for me. Thanks to posting an ad on Kijjii lunch time on December 24, 2017 a family replied, I now know he has been re-homed to a great family and he is being loved but it is like a piece of my heart has been ripped out and will never be repaired. After this experience, I did find out that there are organizations in Calgary and Edmonton that have open adoption like programs for individuals like me who are ill or who are elderly as they have proven the therapeutic effects of an animal still having regular contact with their original owner. I have been in touch with the organization in Calgary and hope that someday a chapter will open up in Red Deer. If I had known about the Organization in Calgary or Edmonton existed, I would have considered that as an option for my little man as due to my vision issues, I could have taken the bus to Edmonton or Calgary and been able to visit my little Man and then I could still love him.
