I had no issues with this clinic or it's staff for many years. In fact I still don't. However, one veterinarian in particular's disinterest in my small dog led him to an extremely early grave. When we took our two dogs in for their checkups we had concerns about our Chihuahua's teeth because we could see and smell the decay. We thought they should be cleaned but the vet brushed it off basically saying, "meh, he's fine" then went back to fawning over our big dog. He's a handsome devil yes, but don't stop doing your job because you apparently don't like little dogs. $400 is still $400 to the clinic for a dental cleaning is it not? A year later we've moved and take him in to our new clinic for his check up. The vet immediately says his teeth are bad which can be an issue for most small dogs and he has advanced heart disease with a stage 4 murmur. This is causing his lungs to start filling with fluid. She continues by saying that there's no way it could have appeared and advanced that far in just one year but there's no mention of it in the file forwarded from Lacombe. With that, it's too risky to put him under to clean and pull teeth so all we can do is help his heart and clear his lungs with medication but it can only help for so long. He is going to die. Less than a year later he did. An 11 year old Chihuahua was suffering from extreme pulmonary edema until he wretched so hard something ruptured and he hemorrhaged internally until he drowned in blood. A painful and traumatic death my wife watched before attempting CPR; because of a veterinarian who seems to prefer big dogs. If the average life span of a Chihuahua is 15-20 years, how do you think we feel about the Lacombe Veterinary Center today?

Don’t use this vet. Paid a lot of money to have a procedure done only to have to rush my pet to the Emergency hospital to have it redone properly. Was charged less at the emergency hospital than here. Something wrong with that picture. And he’s afraid of cats.

I am always impressed with my experiences with the Lacombe Veterinary Centre, and the last visit was no exception. My little dog was booked in for a teeth cleaning. After examining his X-rays, it was determined he required a few preventative extractions. Dr Lawson and his staff called me during the surgery to keep me up to date with the progress and to get my permission to move forward with the extractions. Afterwards they provided me with the X-rays and gave me very detailed post surgary care information. When Ernesto was picked up, he was being pampered by the staff - so much so that he was excited to visit the next day. You can just tell that the staff at the Lacombe Veterinary Centre care for all animals and want to provide the best experience.

We have received nothing but kind and respectful service to both us as owners and honest caring attention to our pets. They are very kind and do everything they can to help us give our animals the best treatment possible. They are very helpful in advice from diet to dental and always willing to help with any questions we may have. Our animals are always comfortable and enjoy the affection shown them when they go for a visit to the Lacombe Vet Centre. We would not consider going anywhere else. I also appreciate the fact that we always get a follow up phone call from them if we have to take one of our kitties in for something other than an annual check up to to see how they are doing. From the vets to the assistants to the front end staff, we thank them for the love and the care they show to our feline friends.

We had to switch veterinarians because of a move and I was very impressed with our first visit. Our vet gave me so much more info on our cat then I had expected; she was very knowledgeable about our cats allergies and skin condition and she pulled up old files that were pertinent with info I had never even known (or remembered) existed. She was very thorough with her recommendations and explaining things to me when I had questions. She also was blunt but kind about why she didn't think the current treatment was a wise option for our cat's health. I will definitely be coming back!

I had some issues with my dog recently and this was the vet the previous owner took her to. We were greeted promptly and our information updated. The staff recognizer her (which was awesome). I informed the nurse of the issues I had and the doctors quickly went into action. She has some minor things done (blood work, updated vaccines, micro chipped) which only took about an hour. Since I am from out of town they called me with the results and an explanation of certain things (which was fantastic). I got her back in about an hour. I will be taking her back there every year for her yearly checkups. Great service, great staff and great prices.

first this clinic is very expensive. over $200 more expensive than other clinics for just a cat spay with vaccines and chip. second, they seem to care more about money than the animals. they aren’t generous like other clinics and help you out (like free xrays or payment plans) and will let your animals die if you don’t give them money first.

Gizmo was a beautiful young cat who's life was taken far to early. This kitty had been several times over her short 5 year life the same complaint of throwing up was told over and over. Well this little girl was taken to Edmonton where a specialist seen her. She had a severe case of inflammatory bowel disease. And because it was left untreated for years and had become cancerous and she could not be saved. As she laid in my arms and took her last breath and her little heart stopped. I cried for her because this could of been avoided if this vet had done the job his owners expected and believed they were doing. Rest is piece my perfect little girl.

A pet can usually be seen in quick order if necessary. I don't quite feel the comfort level as I have experienced elsewhere. It should be as relaxing for the owner as it is for the patient. Too business like. A little catering goes a long way. We are now into the new year with the coldest days hanging on. I am happy to find a warm reception with a kind hello and a short visit (If the staff are not engaged with other patients and business at hand.) The product on hand is well organized on shelving units throughout the front entry area. The product pricing is competitive. I find the staff will discuss and answer pet health questions if they are general. A nice turn around from prior proceedings.

Good morning...........The new food I bought for Jiggs (Breeze's little doxie brother) is not going to work. He will eat Breeze's advantage food but we cannot get him to take one bite of that new food. Have to have something else or can he just have Breeze's Advantage food. He is 6 months old...can he just have ADvantage food like Breeze? You said the new stuff was like advantage only for small bites but obviously there is something very different.
