Vet was very unprofessional. Stitched our dog. Stitches had already opened by the time we got the dog home. Charged us again the next day to repair the stitches he apparently did not put in properly the first time. Was very rude and condescending. Never used them again.

We brought our new puppy into the clinic for her second round of shots and the support staff were so welcoming and friendly. The clinic was clean and welcoming. After taking our pup's weight, we were quickly taken to an examination room which was nice; no waiting around. The veterinary nurse was friendly and answered all the questions we had regarding pup's upcoming shots. Our vet was Dr. Gheorghe and he was really friendly, professional and took his time. Our visit didn't feel rushed at all and he gave us a few tips and recommendations when it came to our puppy's breed. Everyone in the clinic was amazing. We're so happy we signed up our fur baby with them.

Dr. Georghe is an amazing vet. The entire staff is wonderful and friendly but I'm amazed with Dr. Georghe. He is affectionate and takes time with my Rottweiler. He's given me tips on training and is very understanding when I have a butt load of questions. My pup didn't even know he was getting shots and a physical because of how well he was handled. The neuter was more expensive than other quotes, but owners who complain about that sort of thing and say it ruins their whole experience just goes to show not everyone has the same standards for their pets. My pup healed extremely quickly, never seemed to be in pain, and didn't even require a cone because of the laser they use during the surgery. I love this place. It's worth the drive from Calgary. Don't let cheap and bitchy pet owners deter you!

Heartland Vet clinic quoted me $3000 dollars for dental work that was done a the Beddington clinic in Calgary for $500. I truly feel I was being exctored due to the love I have for my pet. Make me upset that they were pressuring me into the dental work and making me feel like a bad pet owner for deciding not to do the 3000 work. When now I realize it was so they could fill their pockets. 3000 to 500 is a hudge difference for me and unacceptable difference in my opinion. I will never trust my dog to this clinic again as I know what there ultimate goal is the well being of their pocket book and not my dog. In my opinion.

Both vets are fantastic, the staff know their stuff. They always know who we are and remember the names of our greyhounds (we're on number 8). They have always been a bit on the expensive side but they never keep throwing test after test at you. The quality of service is second to none. If you're looking for quality and don't want to get ripped off I highly recommend them. Another thing we have always liked is the staff has all been there a long time which makes dealing with them very easy be it on the phone or in person.

Took both our dogs there for routine check up and shots. We also had a concern with one of our dogs having hip or knee problems. After some X-rays Dr. George recommended surgery for our pooch. We booked the surgery and dropped our dog off for the procedure. We got a call a few hours later saying that they decided not to do the surgery. After another set of X-rays with the dog sedated, George was able to determine it was too early and didn't want to put the dog through the process before she had too. Long story short, they are not a money grab and they act in the best interest of your animal. Unfortunately we moved away to Ontario so we can't continue to use Heartland, but if we ever come back to Alberta I have no question what bet we would see!

This is an amazing vet clinic! We are from out of town and were visiting family in Airdrie when our dog became ill. All the clinics I called were not able to see us but Heartland had just had a cancellation and could see us right away. The clinic is large and very clean and the staff are super friendly! The nurse and vet spent a lot of time with us trying to figure out what was wrong with our dog. She explained everything she was checking and looking for. When it was determined it wasn't anything serious, they sent us home with some pain meds. No unnecessary blood work or tests. The cost for the visit and meds was reasonable. If we lived in Airdrie this would be our regular clinic. I highly recommend Heartland Clinic! ❤

took my dog to get neutered here a few days ago. they did not peer pressure me to do all the extras such as blood work etc. they gave me the options but did not at all make me feel like a bad pet owner by not doing it. the price was reasonable. not the cheapest but the care was top notch and the scar from the laser was so minimal that my dog who is a tea cup was back to normal the same day. the scar incision was so small he did not mess around with it, therefore, he did not need to wear the cone of shame. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who lives in calgary or airdrie. my dog is only 3lbs and they took great care of him! ps do not listen to those who say they are over priced. they are just a bit more than some of the competitors but you guaranteed great staff, clean, very professional and up to date with their technics. they followed up the same day and then followed up again the next day to ensure my dog was doing well. none of the other places did follow ups like this at all.

It was an unfortunate situation, our furbaby had become critically ill and had lost a lot if weight & wouldn't eat she was in pain & suffering. Heartland was the ONLY vet that could help elevate her pain that day. They escorted us into a family like room dark, nice couch & a blanket to hold our loved one as the nurse/vet tech gave our furbaby Nina a relaxant med & then the final shot to end her suffering. The staff was very kind & told us to take as long as we wanted there was no rush to leave. The staff was above and beyond & the price was very reasonable as well. Thank you Heartland Veterinary! ❤

$38.85 is what it cost to get a well behaved small dogs nails clipped in 3 minutes at Heartland. I'm new to the area and was shopping for a vet in Airdrie and was appalled after paying this price. I then called around, something I should have done first, and learned the AVERAGE price to get your dogs nails clipped in Airdrie is $20. Two locations charge $12. The staff were friendly but I'm sure they are at other locations. I can't imagine how much Heartland's other services are ... will not be returning. One star for friendly staff.

Love this vet. I've been using them as my primary vet clinic for my two cats, and even my cats love them! Weirdly enough, my orange tabby boy is quite adventurous, and is excited to go to this vet. They treat my cats extremely well, and with a lot of compassion. I recently had to get dental work done for one of my cats, and they gave me quotes for low-end, vs. high-end. Honestly, it was expensive. However, I'd rather be told that it'll be expensive at the beginning so that I know what I'm getting into. They never overcharged me for anything, and it was exactly what we agreed for. They took good care of my cat when he was coming off of the anesthetic. All staff members are very friendly, and helpful. I strongly recommend this clinic!

We researched around for alternative procedures for spays for our puppy. We found Heartland as they had the technology of laser to do the cutting for the surgery. This was to decrease healing time. Even though Heartland is not our regular vet office they still provided excellent service for the spat and follow up after surgery.

My dog is very anxious and sometimes even a bit aggressive when he comes into the clinic, the ladies at heartland we able to make him at ease , take all the time he needed to get comfortable and adjust before they started handling him and he left there after x rays and a physical giving the techs kisses , he's 6 1/2 years old and I've never seen him leave happy giving kisses or allowing anyone to handle him they were really great and this is his new clinic from now on

I have had a bad experience here after a tail docking two weeks ago. I decided to have the tail docking done here because I learned that they use a laser to do the docking which is less painful, reduces scaring and speeds healing. After docking I thought the tails were docked shorter then I asked and they were stitched too with fairly thick stitches for a puppies sensitive skin and told me to return in fourteen days I am now on day eight and have had to return twice now for re-stitching because Mom keeps pulling the stitches out during her natural duties of stimulating the puppies to relieve themselves which I am sure is caused because the tail was docked far to short right below the anus and I specified I wanted the tail docked a little below the anus so the anus is comfortably covered with the tail. Because the tail was docked this short it is too close to the puppies’ anus and then the stitches get pulled out when Mom is licking. The only positive thing about all this has been how friendly they have been with re-stitching and never charging further but then this is only right considering this could all have been avoided if they read and listened to what I wanted yes I said read because I also sent some instruction into the room with the puppies that explained what I wanted. Now I am on the third or fourth day since the last re-stitching and today after all my sleepless nights of watching it appears that the stitches have come out of one of the two puppies that were re-stitched I am so frustrated with all this and think I will just leave the tails be this time rather then put the puppies through that again I just cannot continue like this and I am sure the stitches will just get ripped out again I cannot help it but what really bothers me is that I see bone so I am not sure whether tissue will form over it without stitches. Be sure you are extremely clear with the length you want tails docked to if you ever find yourself with puppies that require the procedure as part of the breed standard. A proper docking length for a Boxer puppy is 3/4" which is the diameter of a Canadian nickel that can be used as a guide when docking.

I called in regards to my cat needing an appointment as he was not walking, the lady on the phone asked her questions about the situation , then proceeded to tell me it was an emergency , which I already knew , and then proceeded to get off the phone with me without telling me if they had an availability or where else I could bring him. I called last Saturday because my little dog was very lethargic and not her usual self. I was told sorry were booked call on Monday. Hmm I needed to have her seen and since she was a patient there thought because she was ill they would have squeezed her in. I then called the wonderful people at Beddington vet who said yes she should be seen definitely and squeezed her in. It ended up she had a high fever and needed antibiotics and pain meds. Thankfully she is now back to herself and didn't have to wait in pain and sick to be seen by her own vet. I'm very grateful for the Dr's at Beddington vet and both my girls will now be attending that clinic.

Gheorge is absolutely amazing. He drove 1.3 hours on his day off to check my fur baby (45 minutes each way) . He truly cares about your pets. I have been taking my cats to Heartland for a number of years. The entire staff are professional and kind in every sense of the words. They absolutely will go out of their way to help you and your fur friend any way they can. Recently I found out my 1 cat, Dexter had an aggressive Cancer. It became very apparent within 24 hours of his diagnoses that his time was very limited and the only fair thing to do was to say good-bye to a very special friend. My one wish was that we do this at home where Dexter was most comfortable. Dr. Gheorghe and Meagen came over to the house and assisted me in saying good-bye. I wanted to avoid putting Meagen through this because she always looked after the Max & Dexter when I was out of town and was fond of Dexter. I will never be able to repay her for her strength and kindness on Saturday. Dr Gheorghe is a true professional whose compassion for both me and Dexter was above anything I could have asked for. Both Dr. Gheorghe and Meagen will always have a special place in my heart forever. I know that the rest of the staff would have done the same.

I don't even know where to start!! The team at Heartland is amazing. They have been taking care of our dogs for a few years now. When our black lab Rizo was diagnosed with cancer. The team was right beside us through surgery, chemo, follow up appointments and especially when she lost her battle! They have always taken time to answer our questions and give advice. Dr.Jody and her team also took tremendous care of our senior yellow lab, Bailey both before and after he was also diagnosed with cancer that was inoperable! I could go on and on...now we trust them to care for our newest lab, Jethro Bottom line is the health of your pet is truly important to them. They also take of mom and dad! The veterinarians at Heartland are the best. They will treat your beloved pet with the same level of care they give their own animals. This clinic acknowledges that pets are family members. The staff is loving and caring and the veterinarians are some of the best in the Calgary area. Heartland may not be the cheapest clinic around, but the level of knowledge and experience means a quicker and more accurate diagnosis of problems. Two friends and I have all had correct treatment here for our dogs after wasting money and time with other vets.

Better late than never.............Had our dog spayed about 9 years ago. In those days there were not a lot of options in Airdrie. Had the dog done by laser and it cost about 700.00. The problem was that I was quoted a cost about 50.00 cheaper by one of the employees. I wanted the quoted price and they refused. I asked them if it was worth 50.00 to lose a patient and the girl at the desk said "yes, I guess". I have not taken my dog to them since and never recommend them . They would have make a lot more money off of me as I also bought her special diet food through them. Silly people make silly decisions. I don't want those kind of people looking after my pets.

Have been going to heartland for years I would say 7-8 years with both my dog and cats. Had an appt on sat with them and was 8mins late (I am always 5-10mins early) my husband gets a call as we are turning into the parking lot saying that they can’t do our appt because we are 8 mins late. I get we where late but my first time being late cause my cat didn’t want to go in the carrier. Very disappointed with that they know me so well that when I come for food and they see my car they have it ready on the counter. Really upset that they just cancelled our appt. Not sure if we will go back out a really bad taste in mine and my husbands mouth.

I love the heartland vet, they are the only vet that I trust with my 3 cats. One of my resent experiences my senior cat Wendy was booked to have knee surgery. Before the surgery the vet advised to put her on a arthritis supplement. The supplement changed her world, Wendy went from not being able to jump off a chair, being carried up and down the stairs, no longer jumped or played to Running, jumping, she walks up and down the stairs with ease, and she loves to play again. We were able to cancel the surgery as her knee went back to the correct place. Heartland vet changed my cat Wendy's life.

Our family moved to Cochrane in 2011 and have received excellent veterinary care from Dr. Jody McMurray. We continued to bring our 3 dogs to Airdrie when she moved there. Dr. McMurray and the staff at Heartland Veterinary Clinic are very polite, kind and caring. We had to put down our 18 year old miniature dachshund a few months ago. We were not sure if it was time to do so or not. Dr. McMurray spent a lot of time with us and Baybee (18 yr old Dachsee), examining & assessing her. Dr. McMurray discussed with us each system from head to toe. We reviewed what was still working alright but also what was not working very well anymore. We came to the conclusion that it was time for her to be put down. We appreciate greatly the time Dr. McMurray spent with us as well as the extended time we could spend with Baybee afterwards. The entire staff were extremely supportive. We will continue to travel to Airdrie from Cochrane to have our dogs cared for by this excellent clinic. Linda M
