If I could give it TEN stars I would! Sadly, I had to have our eighteen year old cat put to sleep. The veterinarian was as kind and gentle as she could be. I was petting our dear old cat right to the end, and she passed away peacefully. I'm sure it saddens the vet everytime she has to do this. It sure took an emotional toll on me ????

Excellent care. Great staff incredibly friendly. Small space but that'll change in their new place at the end of the week here. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 was we had an emergency with our puppy and they are supposed to have an on call. However due to staffing issues they couldn't help us when our puppy went into heart failure. We had to drive to Calgary for the nearest vet. I understand that these things happen. But never the less if you are going to offer a service, actually offer the service. Otherwise this clinic is our choice for our puppy family member

Friendly and quick, last minute appt. My dog was given an exam, xray and blood work all within 1.5 hours of me taking him in. Prescribed 3 types of medication for regulating his normal flora. He had bloody diarrhea and very gassy. They recommended boiled chicken, rice and pumpkin for at least 2 days until his bowel movements became normal and then start adding little amounts of kibble to the basics. Animal tech called 2 days after appt to checkin on my dog which was nice ????

Being new in Cochrane and with a new kitten, I luckily had numerous choices in veterinary care. From the reviews and a few others good references, I decided on CAC. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and very caring. My cat is an Exotic Shorthair and needs a little extra TLC. Dr. Becky Whittle is fantastic with my little guy, as is the other staff. He had a few shots and was a little ill afterwards. Dr. Whittle phoned to check in on him, making sure he was doing well and making positive progress. This is a place that cares about your pets and I am glad I chose CAC.

I made the unfortunate mistake of leaving a corn on the cob on my counter and went to bed. I have 3 dogs who are all rescues and of course one of them decided to eat the entire thing. I figured out who it was and reached out to the clinic as I was not able to get ahold of my normal vet clinic. They were quick on the phone and were able to get me in right away with a drop off. Despite being super busy, they took great care of me and my dog and everyone else. Super friendly staff and the vet was very very sweet as well. She explained to me what I needed to know and do. Very happy with my experience with them, I think I might even change clinic. Great job guys, you definitely deserve recognition!!

Stay away, far away My dog was sneezing continually. All Dr. Kung did was listened to his heart and that was it?? She said it was the temperature changing in the house!!! My wife insisted it was a sinus issue but was basically ignored. We took him straight over to ARROWHEAD were they found a cracked tooth the was red and inflamed that possibly was abscessing and causing inflammation in his snout. Antibiotics and anti inflammatory were prescribed Of course an extraction is required Animals suffer in silence this VET is a joke, stay away. Oh ya $70 for nothing

Dr. Laura was amazing in listening to us when it came to Dubbz. We had been to two places prior and felt relatively unheard, but when we described his breathing, his mannerisms, and his overall well being, she listened intently and took what we had to say into account. Needless to say, if we went here first, we would have saved a lot of money. We also had a limited budget to work with as the prior two visits cost us well into the thousands, and they were able to stay within our budget and Dubbz is now 100%. :) we will definitely be returning for all of our dog needs. Sad to say we ended up losing Dubbz for reasons beyond anyone's control. I just wanted to add to the review. I'd give them 4000 stars if I could. Dubbz was a special case. We were never able to pin down what was wrong with him but the entire team here worked together to try and fix him. Dr. Tara was absolutely amazing in her care and compassion and coming up with ideas for treatment. Everyone at the clinic did everything in their power to get him well. There is nothing more that I could ask for from a team of vets. To the entire staff, thank you so much for pushing so hard. <3

First experience - excellent. Needed special parrot food and they didnt charge to pre-order. Further, they made extra accommodations when I couldn't get there within business hours. Dog Vax -- went well. No waiting and whisked in for weights, exams & pokes. Booking a return appt wasn't very straightforward. After asking to have my file open, there was some heavy-duty confusion with timing and what was needed. Finally spoke to someone else and it got sorted.

The front desk staff are very efficient. Some are more engaging than others. This is a busy and popular veterinary practice. The Veterinary technicians are friendly and very knowledgeable about vaccines and pre & post surgical procedures for our 6 month old female cat's spaying. I have only met Dr. Armstrong. She is excellent. Our kitty was treated very well. I would highly recommend the clinic to other pet owners.

I have nothing But great things to say about this clinic! Not only will they rush to help a pet in need but will bend over backwards to make sure you get in if needed! They are amazing priced and are NOT there there to make a quick buck! My dog Primrose was extremely lethargic when when I called the first time that I asked for the most available time which was the next day and when I went back to look at my dog I noticed that she had bumps on her nose and when I called back I said is there anyway to get in sooner and they made it happen for 15 minutes from when I called. And due to COVID-19 my dog was behind on her shots but we couldn’t get them done in the same day because we didn’t know what the bumps on her nose were from so we had to wait a week or two but instead of charging us an initial check up charge plus the shots in a week or two they only charged us the cost for the shots when we came back! This clinic is for the support of Cochrane and for the animals of Cochrane and we should do the same!

They kept my dog for the afternoon and I received phone calls every hour with updates on his status. The day after I had a personal phone call from Kim to offer her support. I am giving Big Hill a 5 star review, even though the reason we visited was in sad circumstances. My elderly little dog had a rough couple of days, couldn't walk and was in a lot of pain. It all came to a head on Saturday, and I called Big Hill as I couldn't get her in to the Vet that had previously seen her. They recognized that it was an emergency and got us in within the hour, right at their closing time and on the long weekend. It is never easy to part with a pet, and this one was especially hard. Dr. Darvill, our vet, and the staff that helped us were incredibly kind and generous and I thank them for their care and for seeing us on such short notice. Thank you.

The vet is almost never a fun experience, however these ladies seem to go above and beyond to make the experience as good as possible. Appt started a bit late, was kept in the loop. Vet was fantastic, our pup had an accident and one of the vet techs took her back and gave her a bath, cut poop out of her fur, and just went well beyond what I expected of them. I have been taking my pets (total of 6 of them) to Cochrane Animal Clinic for the past 7 years. I have all but one either spayed or neutered. I have taken the faithfully for their shots and other reasons in between. I have always loved each vet I have dealt with and the other staff always were helpful and nice. However, even though I have paid after each visit in full and some of them we were only in with the vet for a few minutes but still got charged the whole amount, I was turned away quite coldly. Recently, my husband and I have been facing devastating financial woes and so when we woke up today and one of our dogs was violently ill with vomiting, diarrhea and was shaking we became immediately worried and when it didn't seem to get any better, we thought we could for sure call the vet and ask this one time to be seen on the house. We were shocked when we were coldly turned away and told we should turn him over to the humane society and so their vet could look at him. I was shocked and amazed that they could turn an animal away because the owners are in a pinch financially. There was not even a mention of them seeing him and us paying them at a later date. If we don't have the money right now the too bad for your pet. I am disgusted at this and will never return their again. It's obviously just about the money to them. I will never recommend them to any other pet owner who loves their pet.

Called over 40 clinics in calgary and surrounding area to try to get my dog in ASAP for surgery after he chipped his canine. Everywhere was month+ wait and wouldn't even book a consultation until the next week. Cochrane animal clinic not only took in Finnegan right away for an evaluation, they tried to fit him into surgery the day of into there busy schedule. He got the surgery the day of! Not only this amazing service, an extremely fair price. Highly recommend this clinic, although it is far from us we will be coming back from the great customer service.

These guys are awesome. I try to be a good pet owner, but my four legged friend loves to eat anything he can fit in his mouth. Luckily this clinic has been easy to deal with and very understanding. As for prices, they can get a bit expensive, but have always offered cheaper alternatives whether at their office or somewhere else.

Got us in last minute before our road trip. Had our puppy diagnosed ( pneumonia ) within minutes and on the appropriate medication. I declined the X-ray and 24 hr hospitalization they suggested but they didn’t push on us. They respected our decision and gave us monitoring tips. I brought my very sick kitty here. At first I was happy with the check up and the prices are good BUT my cat was waiting for a test results to come back to pin point the appropriate treatment while she hadn't been drinking or eating for days. I was told "tomorrow or early the next day" I ended up having to call them about 6 times at the end of the next day and hackle them to get my results back because "oh they should have been back by now" while I was at home freaking out because I felt like my 5 year old cat was going to kick the bucket! Tests came back negative... Okay so what now? They told me they didn't know... Are you kidding me right now?! My cat hadn't eaten/drank anything in over a week and you have NO idea?! She tells me to come in the next day so we could talk about our options. So I showed up the next morning (after calling in sick from work!) to find out the doctor wasn't even working that day! Why would you book me an appointment and then NOT BE THERE! I ended up going to a different vet and her treatment was given so late I had to hospitalize her. $2600 I will never see again. Ugh.... The two stars is ONLY because there prices were fair.

Absolutely Amazing. I truly can't explain how happy and grateful I am to have found this clinic. Fast, friendly, knowledgeable care that leaves you feeling like you made the best decision for your pet. We took our bulldog in after a long disappointing weekend at one of the emergency vets in Calgary to get a second opinion and proper treatment for her as she had a run in with a porcupine. I called monday evening as we were left pulling a tremendous amount of quills ourselves at home after she had spent three days at another clinic. We got in right away the next morning and were given a proper fasting schedule so as to not put our girl in any unnecessary risk. She went in with Dr. Ripley first thing the next morning who went above and beyond to not only make sure that she found every quill possible but also fix incisions and sutures that had been improperly done and were becoming infected. When we went to pick our girl up she was bright and happy (no longer lethargic and limping). We were also very happily surprised to see that they had done all this at a very reasonable price. All of the front office staff and other vets were amazing as well, we have found our long term vet clinic.

Highly recommended. Well worth the drive from Calgary - Dr. Ryan Wennekamp is very professional and skilled (good with people and pets). We were able to get an appt within 24 hrs of our first call to this clinic, and the appt was right on time. Amanda handled our admin work and was very friendly, helpful, she's very efficient. We've looked a long time for a talented, sensible professional vet, not the Calgary "flashiness" and hype that makes me question what I am really paying for. The clinic is run as a business not a clinic. They lie to you, make you feel guilty for not choosing their treatment. They lied to my wife saying our dog has pneumonia or cancer and prescribed both medications. We went to our regular vet for the prescribed follow up X-ray a week later, in 5 min our vet let me know his chest was full of tumours. I ask if there was any chance it was pneumonia or an infection. His answer was 0%. They did the similar thing to another family member a kept a 14 year German shepherd around for another 8 months totalling $18,000 in care for the sake of there bank account not the care or wellbeing of the pup. If there is an ethics committee for vets they should be notified of their in humane and greedy practices. Shame on you.....

I recently made the change to Cochrane Animal Clinic and I could not be more impressed!! The receptionists were great to talk to, very friendly and made the transition from my last vet very easy! The back end staff was just as amazing! I have 2 Goldens, my 1 year old was getting neutered (everything went great) and my 9 year old was in for his annual check up and I had one concerning issue that was kind of ‘swept under the rug’ at my last clinic! They took every step to confirm what was going on and explained it thoroughly! Amazing experience!

When he needed to be brought in, they fit him in right away for X-rays. Each and every staff personnel was so pleasant to deal with and the Veterinarian explained everything in detail. Overall amazing experience in a not so great situation, which I think speaks volumes about their clinic. Thank you Dr. Tegan!

Poor service- unfriendly front staff and to top it off- paying for services that were never even done. I would NEVER recommend this clinic to anyone. I had my female dog fixed there and still to this day she bleeds even though I paid the ridiculous amounts to have her fixed! And then after I went back to ask why she was bleeding- I had to pay more costs to have more tests done to which I later learned were never even completed by Bill Hill (information given from an animal hospital in Calgary). My dog apparently had all these tests done, they tell me -she was perfectly healthy. They told me "tests came back great"- to which I didn't agree with as she was still bleeding- so I went to get another opinion shortly after from an animal hospital in Calgary. They then told me there were numerous issues that came up from the results of the same tests Bill Hill supposedly completed- and I was told her spay was not successful. Keep in mind animals are a part of someone's family- charging people for tests to make a buck is disgraceful and disgusting.

Recently our 13 yr old cat became very ill and we had to make the difficult decision to have him put to sleep. The staff were amazing, they went above and beyond for us and our cat Beau, they gave us time to say goodbye, they were so gentle and caring with him and with us. They even sent us some of his paw prints and some of his beautiful fur along with a lovely heart felt card. Thank you so much!

First time vet visit with our Siberian Husky puppy. The staff receiving out pup were amazing. Doctor Laura called to discuss our dog while she was with him. You can tell there is a lot of animal love by all. Pricing was very reasonable as well. Highly recommend this clinic.

Dr. Becky Whittle has been the best and has taken such good care of our boy. All of the staff are amazing and if Becky isn't available there is always someone willing to help. I definitely recommend Cochrane Animal Clinic. My dog needed a tooth pulled quickly and the clinic performed it on a weekend to limit his pain. Overall I am impressed with services and costs for both my dog and cat. They respond quickly to concerns.

Best clinic in the area (I wish it was also an animal hospital)! Dr. Becky has helped me alot with my two dogs so professionally and compassionately during the last 7 months... great understanding and personal service when I had to part with my sweet Mary in June; they even mailed me a condolance card with 3 prints of my sweet angel's paw. Yesterday I had a 9 mo pug spayed and an impacted tooth removal and she is acting like it didnt happen 24 hrs later and everything is going exceptional. Questions are always answered asap and her communication via phone while my dog was in her care yesterday was really appreciated and exactly what you expect from a professional. I trust her and this clinic completely as we have been using them in the family and personally for the last dozen or more years.

Bookings are good can accommodate within 2 business days. Clinic I found dirty, would recommend sweeping in the consult rooms. Was not satisfied with the veternaian, he missed the ear mites my kitten had which were diagnosed in Calgary. Expensive.
