My innocence daughter woke up panicking this morning because her cat vomited once. She called this place for maybe an advise. Not sure what they told her that made her decide to bring the cat to see the Vet right away. She did! of course got charged the visit fee and just advise her that it was maybe cats behavioural issue so basically nothing wrong. We tried to stop her not to bring the cat as it happened before and it is just normal for a cat to vomit as long as the cat still active and not lethargic and eating, drinking as normal NO NEED TO VISIT THE VET AND GET CHARGED !!! she’s only a student and really doesn’t have money to afford it. Sometimes over the phone advise, they should have to told her not to worry about it and just observe the cat if it get worse and should have prevented her from visiting the Vet No idea what made her decide to bring the cat there?? She regrets her decision after the visit and realized she should have not wasted the money for a simple checkup that it could have done over the phone. Learned lesson!

The staff here are knowledgeable and compassionate. They take as much time as needed to care for your pet/animals and answer any questions you have. Their follow up is impeccable as well.The veterinarians at central vet are very knowledgeable and also show a lot of compassion. Their patience with the animals and owners goes above and beyond. I've always felt comfortable taking my large and small animals to central vet because I know that any and all of my questions will be answered even if the doctor needs to do some research on their own. I've never felt rushed out of the door and feel like my concerns are completely met. I used to only book with one specific veterinarian, but the caliber of doctors that have been added to the team make me very confident that my animals will receive quality care in all their capable hands.

Dr. Carling and the staff at Central Vet Clinic were so friendly and caring. I had an issue with my dogs eye which seemed semi urgent, this isn't our regular vet but we were treated the day I called. Dr. Carling gave us her time to explain what was wrong and how to properly administer the medications, she was really patient and kind and went above and beyond! I'm so impressed and would recommend!

As fate would have it, our cat got sick the day we were leaving for a vacation. We were able to get our cat in ASAP for an emergency visit. The team at Central Vet Clinic was amazing to deal with and took such good care of our "family member". They said go on our holiday and we sorted a pick up with our pet sitter after our cats surgery. The team at the clinic kept in constant communication with us, provided us options, gave us updates on our cats status and made us feel completely at ease. When our cat was released they were thorough with the after care process and instruction with our pet sitter and us. I am so happy that the Central Clinic Team were there for us and understood and respected our concerns. They treated our cat like their own family and although we hope this never happens again, we would give above 5 stars for his care while there and if needed would call them back in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Central Veterinary Clinic - you really care and it shows!

They did give my kitty excellent medical care, however, the bottom line is the $. $1,600, to me, is outrageous and my total monthly income. Even though I did qualify, for a one time Tails of Hope assistance, which I am extremely grateful for, I was left with a balance of $600.00. Sadly, too, I have no assurance that my kitty is functioning or healing properly. I am fearful to report any concerns, as it may require further assistance and prove to be another costly adventure. ????

Took our dog there this weekend! The vet we saw (Dr sam) was delightful. She was good with our dog and flexible when we wanted to book our next appointment. She was also very knowledgable and answered all of our questions. Overall the clinic is nice and tidy and definitely worth the drive out if you are in Edmonton. We also picked up a new collar there as they sell lots of toys, treats and dog food. Definitely taking my pup back here

Absolutely terrible service with Central Veterinary Clinic. Had my dog neutered there last week and not once did I speak with a vet. Every other vet clinic I’ve dealt with, either to do with our dog or the cows, we’ve spoke with the vet, not reception. Worse expensive I’ve ever had with a vet clinic. I’m going to continue taking my business to both Rimbey Vet and Gull Lake Vet. Most definitely not recommending this clinic to anyone. I honestly don’t understand the big hype over this business.

I had accidentally phoned and booked at the wrong vet clinic so when I came in for my appointment, they obviously couldn’t find it! They were able to call and cancel the other appointment and get us in right away! The clinic is clean and beautiful, the reception staff is helpful and kind and the veterinarians are knowledgeable and willing to take the time to answer all your questions and not rush you! Central Veterinary Clinic in Ponoka is a great facility, well thought out design of the clinic, offers small and large animal services. Excellent Doctors and Support staff. I've had Dr. Hook see my dog many times and he has also performed surgery on him as well. Dr. Hook has excellent 'bedside' manner, very knowledgeable, and takes his time and is very thorough with his examinations...he always takes the extra time that is required to get an accurate heart rate on my Great Dane. Dr. Hook also listens, responses well and is supportive of pet owners concerns and comments. I drive 1 Hour and 15 minutes to take my dog to Central Vet. Clinic...well worth the trip, I highly recommend this clinic. :)

I have heard great things about a lot of the vets that work here but the one I saw left me sitting in a room for 45 minutes and when she realized I was still in there, she told the receptionist what to say to me rather than talking to me herself. She didn't realize that I could hear her through the wall. I will never go back because of her. The rest of the staff is great.

I just had to bring my dog in for porcupine quills, which I'm thankful I did. The ones in the mouth are hard to get, and if I chose to wait over night the quills would have become harder to pull. The bill was absolutely reasonable; if not, it was cheap for the overnight on call service.Trevor the vet, was the best. My dog loved him and the facility considering the circumstance. Thank you so much Trevor. I recommend this place to everyone who needs a vet.

Central Vet always takes the best care of our animals. It always happens that when something goes wrong (like my dog eating 1lb of bacon off the counter) it’s after hours. The staff is always amazing when you call the after hours line they are informative and try to help you over the phone if possible. They walk you through the steps that would be required to take. They are prompt at responding Dr. Claire (I believe) is amazing. She helped us quickly she was calm and walked us through every step of what was happening. The prices at central vet cannot be beat, we drive from blackfalds not only for the prices, but the care our animals always receive

I have been bringing my dog, Winston, here for 10+ years. Very friendly, professional service from all staff. I had him booked this past weekend for his yearly shots and phoned last minute to re-schedule the appointment to later same day (silly dog wouldn't get into vehicle). Took him in later that day and silly dog wouldn't get out of vehicle. Sam did the exam and gave him his shots in the back of my SUV. Every staff member we have ever dealt with here is wonderful and I appreciate the care that they have taken of my dog over the years. He is always greeted like he is their best friend (he's a lab so he probably is!) and time is always given to him for scratches.

I brought my Sheltie Cross (Bella) in after a very unexpected downhill slide. She’s only 8 and had been a very happy, healthy and active dog. She started exhibiting signs of what I would describe as a stroke so I called and was able to get her in the next morning. Dr. Laine was awesome. He was very down to earth, compassionate and thorough with Bella’s examinations and tests. He explained everything he was doing and why. He even took extra time to confer with the other vets to confirm what he was observing. We weren’t able to confirm 100% what was happening to my dog but were able to eliminate a bunch of other things (cancer, tumours, infection etc) through all of the tests we did leaving only something in her brain, spinal cord and/or optic nerve which could only be confirmed with a costly MRI. I decided not to go that route as treatment could be done without determining the actual cause. I’m happy to say that Bella started showing small signs of improvement shortly after we started her on the meds and has almost fully recovered after a few days. She still has some balance and coordination issues but they are slowly going away too. Thank you Central Vet for taking such good care of my fur baby. Well done! Joanne and Bella ????
