Dr. Skelley was a fantastic vet, but has now retired. New vets have taken over as of March 2019. I booked an appointment for my dog two days ago and today was called at work by the clinic (who called me then put ME on hold!) to ask if I could just drop her off in the morning and the vet would examine her during her other appointments! Absolutely ridiculous - unless it’s an emergency situation, owners should ALWAYS be present during a vet visit that you are paying for. When I said no to this, the rude receptionist proceeded to argue with me, while completely missing my point. To me this is a shady cash-cow situation to say the least, not to mention being stressful on the dog being examined without it’s owner present. Dr. Skelley would never have done this. He always had plenty of questions for me during exams and I’m pretty sure he didn’t expect my dog to answer. I was so mad at the entire situation that I called back and cancelled my dogs appointment. I will be taking her elsewhere. No shortage of vets in Calgary.

The worse vet experience. Actually it is not even an experience. Sitting outside in the car as they do whatever they want and bring you the bill which would be much lower if one was allowed in and had an opportunity to say no to some things. If, at the time of booking, we were told about the requirements of having to present a qr code, I would book elsewhere. They don't tell you. The doctor went thru 15 minutes on the phone describing a list of potential diseases my pet may have trying to milk the most out of us, while we were sitting outside.. just bad, bad experience. And an expensive one.... I will be looking for other vet clinics for sure.

The veterinarian there dr Iong who was there for the other vet today was extremely caring with my cat Luna even though she wiggles a lot and wouldn't stay still she was having diarrhea and vomiting the night before and he was extremely patient and caring with her and tried to make her comfortable because it was her first time going to the vet I can't wait to take her back next year to get her shots again because reception and the veterinarian was extremely friendly and courteous !!! I'm glad someone in my art group recommended this vet for me will definetly be coming back !!!

I've been taking Disney here since he was a puppy. He's now an 11 year old blind westie. Dr Nathaniel and the staff are always so warm and welcoming and provide the best care to our dog. I feel comfortable calling in with questions and Disney loves being with Dr Nathaniel who simply adores him. I would highly recommend the staff and clinic.

They won't let you in the place....seems like they think we all have the plague. I know its small, so just let one person in at a time, but they keep the doors locked and come talk to you outside. Makes me wonder about switching vets.

I just moved to Calgary from Toronto and spent a lot of time researching vet clinics in Calgary. I am so happy I decided to take my dog to Bowmont Animal Hospital. They are so very welcoming and warm. Dr Bruce is extremely knowledgable and took the time to really understand what was going on with my dog Dublin. Dublin absolutely loved her from the start and was extremely comfortable with Dr Bruce. The recommendations she gave us are already helping with her allergies! We are so thrilled!

I was turned onto this clinic by a family member when I bought a new puppy. I needed to get her shots done as well as a general check up. Even though the clinic is across town I will still continue to go there. The staff is very knowledgeable and the vet was very affectionate and compassionate towards my puppy. The prices are great everyone knows owning a puppy is hard enough as it is but not having to break my bank makes it a little bit better. Thank you to everyone there for the wonderful first experience.

I called in for our German Shephard Bella who was bleeding and we couldn't figure out what was happening. We just moved to Calgary so this was my first time calling Bowmont Animal Hospital they made sure Bella was seen that same day. Dr. Nagy was great she explained everything to us and gave us options for treatment. We asked her million questions and she was patient and helpful.

I have nothing but good things to say about Bowmont Animal Hospital. My brother and I came in as new patients with our senior cat and were treated as if we had been coming to the clinic for years. We were lucky enough to get to see Dr. Nathaniel, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. The passion he has for his work is very evident, and he takes the time to explain everything to you in detail. He has the utmost respect for his patients and their owners and is a very compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable individual. I have been taking my animals here for 10 years and my parents took our pets here before that. Dr. Skelly was great and the new vet is just as good and has taken great care of my 15 year old cat. Bonus is that they now offer more services in house so I won't have to travel to see the cat dentist

After just one visit I can't say enough good things about this vet and staff. Our regular vet had retired a month prior, without warning, and I was more than a little concerned when I had to find a new practice on extremely short notice. The reviews on some vets are just downright scary. Incompetence, callousness, and price gouging are just some of the many negative reviews I read in an hour long search. I decided to follow my gut after reading the 4 previous reviews here. Never made a better decision in my life. -They were patient with me and my questions over the phone and were able to book an appointment for us that afternoon. The atmosphere was pleasant and calm, as were the staff. This fact was even more appreciated given the nature of my 25 year old cat, who never responds well to the slightest of stressors under the best of circumstances. Needless to say, pain, car rides and strangers are far from her ideal. But the vet was patient (with both of us), gentle, practical and informative. This was the least stressful vet visit (for both of us) in all of my cat's 25 years of life. For the first time ever I'm no longer worried about subjecting her to exams. On behalf of Cookie and myself, much thanks to the Bowmont Animal Hospital. I only wish I had found them years ago. The cherry on the sunday is they're also affordable. :-)

Best vet I've ever been to. Took my cat to an all-night emergency clinic after he was injured. Went to Bowmont vet clinic (our usual vet) for all of the aftercare. Stitch removal, new meds, checkups, and other concerns for a total of FIVE appointments. I couldn't believe it but they did not charge us anything for any of these visits, even though we had the surgery done at another clinic. You will never be nickeled and dimed at this vet! Dr Skelley is extremely good with pets (and people too). He has a good manner with pet parents and makes sure all your concerns are addressed so you will actually leave his office feeling relieved. The staff also does their best to get you in that day if you call with a concern, and they aren't afraid to discuss your problem with you and give immediate advice over the phone.

We took our previous dog to this Bowmont and received wonderful care. We brought our new pup to see Dr. Nagy today for her first check up. Shelley is always so cheerful, helpful, and welcoming and today was no different. Dr. Nagy spent so much time with Nikka and I to give up information about services and education regarding her health and wellness. Such a great Vet! Dr. Nathaniel was also so kind and caring and supportive to us when we were dealing with the end of life care for our dog Lola who has traveled across the Rainbow Bridge. Thank you!

I've been wanting to write a review for a while. These people are amazing. We have been taking our two cats there since the day we got them and we have never had an issue. Their prices are fantastic and I did a lot of shopping around. They really don't try to sell you anything you don't need. The best way I can describe it is that they have such good prices because they care about the animals and want people to be able to afford good care. Any issues, such as swelling around an injection site, and they would gladly see the cats again at no extra charge, and they always want an update. After our female got spayed, she had a lot of swelling and they were on top of that and made sure she was ok. After a couple of emergencies (which weren't done here) they always followed up and made sure to ask the next time we saw them if there were any issues. The staff is very friendly. The doctors take their time and we have never felt rushed. They are just great! They don't do emergency stuff, they are a very small clinic, so do know where you can go in case of an emergency.

I 100% recommend this vet clinic to anyone!! we had a few scares with our Lola girl and they were so wonderful on the phone with all my questions, and of course once we brought her in Dr.Nathaniel was so great with her as well as explaining things to us. they are amazing with both our dogs every time we are in and have even taken the time to do follow ups to check on Cooper and Lola after our visits. The girls are so friendly and our pups look forward to seeing Amy and the rest of them at the clinic! Thank you so much!!

There are new vets at Bowmont Animal Clinic for about the last year. Dr. Skelly and the team previously were amazing. Took my dogs and cats there for over 15 years. I have nothing but amazing things to say about them. So sad they are now gone. I have been taking my two pups to The new vets for this last year. I am now looking for another vet as I find they are now much more expensive than previously. My experience is that they try to sell you more than what is needed. I do not feel that the vets I have met in the last year are very caring or supportive or listen to what I have to say. It is too bad because there is still one lady at the front desk who is very nice she has been with clinic since I started 15+ yrs.

After years of trying to get help for my ailing cat visiting numerous vets and clinics to no avail, I brought my cat in to see Dr. Nathaniel. One visit with some blood work and he set him up on a home protocol and within 24 hours my cat was back to his old self. No more yeowling all night and day. It's like it took 10 years off of him. He's now happy and active. Thank you Dr. Nathaniel! You are a true healer. I am beyond grateful for your time, patience and expertise. Thank you also to all of the amazing staff!
