I would like to say that if you have a pet that you want the best and most thorough care as well as great customer service then Bow River Vet Centre is the place to go! Owner respect and consideration is just as important as pet care. Bow River Vet Centre is great on communication- clear and concise, as well as they are very upfront regarding their charges. I absolutely recommend this centre to all pet owners!

I had recently moved to Canmore with a 7 month old pup. She had unusual bald patches and some other worrisome symptoms so I decided to go to a vet in town. It wasn’t an emergency, but they were able to get me in that day for a check up which I really appreciated! Dr. Rebecca was so kind and explained her diagnosis in understandable terms, what medications were involved, and how to prevent the skin condition going forward. Very professional and empathetic. Will absolutely go to Dr. Rebecca while living in Canmore. Also great job with distancing and pet drop off for protection against COVID.

We were moving from Saskatchewan to British Columbia with our cat when our car broke down. We ended up needing a tow back to Canmore, and having to stay an extra night in a hotel, which really stressed our cat out to the point where we became really concerned. We called Bow River with his symptoms and they asked us to bring him in immediately - I couldn't believe how quickly they were able to see to him. They ended up prescribing him anti anxiety medicine, and providing us with urinary pills and food to keep our little guy healthy and to ensure the rest of our journey went smoothly. We got to our destination, and he has had absolutely no issues since. We know we only have Bow River to thank. Thank you all so much for seeing to our Kitty in such short notice, during such a stressful time. ❤️ I will happily recommend you all to anyone.

David(my cat) was born in July 16 of 1997 In Canmore Alberta his home town. He is survived by his dad Steven David passed away peacefully in Canmore at the veterinary clinic on June the 02 , 2018, He was 21 years of age. Thanks to His former family Dr Dave Brace, all the new staff David was able to continue his life fighting many health battle over the years. Aldo been living in Banff for the last 5 years David has peacefully passed away at the Canmore veterinary clinic under the supervision of Dr Carol Blake and his Daddy at his side till the very end. I am visiting Canmore for the month and one of my dogs had a mobility issue appear yesterday. Bow River Vet was incredibly kind and agreed to see us today on short notice. We had a fantastic experience from start to finish – very friendly staff, knowledgeable and personable vet, and fair prices. I really wish I lived here as I’d put full confidence in this office :)

The BRV has been caring for my dogs for over a decade now and they are quite simply the best veterinary clinic I've ever had the pleasure of working with. They understand canine athletes and the sports injuries these dogs may experience. Vets are always available to discuss on the phone if I cannot make the 2 hour journey to them. The front line staff are extremely professional and efficient. And the medical care is superb. From a diagnostics perspective, they cannot be beat.

The care at Bow River Vet Clinic was amazing. We were from out of town, on a Saturday night before a long weekend, with our beloved old, but sick, cat. They were so caring and knowledgeable. They didn't make us feel bad about keeping them (probably well past an hour). And we received a follow-up call days after, when we had no ability to be a return client. I wish we lived in Canmore just for our pets to have Carol Black and the reception staff as our animal care team.

I was able to get my dog in on short notice because I noticed an issue with her that I was concerned about. The staff and the Dr. at the clinic were extremely accommodating, were able to do everything they needed to do to properly diagnose and treat her during her visit and before the weekend. I was given a descriptive explanation of what was wrong with my dog so I would understand what was going on. She was sent home with antibiotics and triggers to look for if the medications were not addressing the issue. She is in great shape today and I attribute it to the fast and thorough care she was given yesterday. Well done to the Veterinarian and her staff at the Bow River Veterinary Centre.

I havent seen the vet here but the receptionist was not great. My dog had loose stool so I asked for a box of fortiflora she told me I needed a prescription. I told her that was wrong because I buy it over the counter in Calgary. She than went and asked and of course I got it over the counter. Than I asked for the receipts to send it in to trupanion and she told me they wouldn't cover it because they haven't seen my dog there. This was also very wrong. Trupanion does cover it even if you haven't seen that vet before. I just got my claim today. Please educate your receptionists. (They are only the face of your clinic, your front line)

These ladies are great, their pre and post care is unmatched. They always call to check in and really treat your pet as their own! We’ve had a few really bad experiences with vets but since coming here it’s been nothing but great! Our 14 year old little dogs health had suddenly gone down hill very rapidly and he was suffering. We made the heartbreaking decision to have him put down . I live in Canmore and called Bow River Veterinary Centre to arrange an appointment for Euthanasia. I called and explained the situation. The woman on the phone was completely void of feeling. She said “ so, when would you like today, tomorrow, next week, week after “ anyone would think I was booking a darn hair appointment and not making an appointment to have our dearly loved pet euthanized. Not one bit of sympathy ! Not one kind word offered ! We actually drove our little dog to Cochrane Veterinary Clinic instead. Who, I have to say, were absolutely outstanding from the moment we called them to the moment we left.

Totally understand the policies related to COVID and having to drop our pup off for its shot. However, this was our first visit and it would have been nice to have at least been introduced to the vet who took great care of our puppy. We only know who the vet was based on the name on the invoice but it would have been nice to at least have been introduced and we could have thank the individual personally. Other than that very good service.

Disappointing. I have taken my cat in before and received good service. Nothing outstanding or problem-solving but still good. My cat had recently developed a rash on his belly. It was getting so bad he was licking himself raw. I had called the Bow River Vet and they were not able to accommodate me with a visit time since my husband has odd working hours and I was leaving for a flight the next day. I understood this as they only had one Vet on staff. However, I had told them the pain that my cat was in and if they could possibly squeeze me in for just five minutes at the end if their day to get some medication to offer him some relief and then I would return after for an assessment. They said no. I then asked if I could speak with a Vet to at least get some advice as to how to give him some pain relief until I was able to come in in person. They once again refused. I called Canmore Vet Hospital next and they were able to accommodate me immediately with an appointment within the hour.
