I was studying there in 2014/2015. It was a good time there and I did not feel regret to study in York. I also got a job in the UK after graduation. The campus was so lovely, closed by the nature. I love walking from campus east to west to go to the library.

The University of York has a very good Computer Science department and facilities. It has the two biggest artificial lakes in Europe. One in Heslington West and the biggest one in Heslington East. You can see a big diversity of ducks here.

I would say the University of York provided the best experience as student, particularly as an international student in the pandemic period. Good staff, my program leader and supervisors (I had lucky to have 3 supervisors in my master's dissertation) were there to support me in all stages of this outstanding experience. Campus West is gorgeous and Campus East is in its way. The teaching experience had ups and downs. It is natural, there are professors you may manage to complete your modules and others who will inspire and support you in your career decision. One or two bad experiences cannot affect the overall experience had there. I hope to come back and pursuing my PhD., however I won't forget how this uni and the city of York created excellent memories in my life personal and as a student.

I did my master's degree here in 2016/17 and I loved it. Though it isn't perfect and there are issues that need to be addressed as there is in any university institution, York is a great campus and university. I will put in a plug for the Department of Education because they were great for me degree. The campus (Heslington West) is stunning. There is a lake and a variety of water fowl. It green and well taken care of, so it was a lovely place to be. The library is wonderful and it is only a mile or so to walk down to city centre.

Not a student, so can't say anything about courses or professors, but the architecture, man... The layout and design of the place is truly masterful. It's as though an alien species landed and settled just outside York and expanded more and more. When there are no students there over the summer the place becomes a fully fledged wildlife reserve, water birds, rabbits, hedgehogs, frogs, bugs EVERYWHERE. It's a beautiful place to walk around and clear your head

One of the greatest universities in the UK to develop research in plant biology. The library is full of information so you can develop research, they have great laboratories well equiped. I went there for a few weeks to learn and i liked the environment, people were very kind. Inside the university there are places were you can stay in peace and calm, also you can watch the ducks.

The application and registration was easy however I wanted to register for a course that I had no experience in and after I spoke to someone from the university of york she explained that the course was suitable for beginners and that doing the pre course activities would help. I did all of the pre course activities but during the second week it became clear that there was much information in the readings that helped with the course or activities. After trying to reach out to the module tutor the only advice he gave me was to go through each line until it makes sense. I wasn't able to do any of the activities without looking at the answers and repeatedly found myself asking 'how was I supposed to know that' half of the answers were not taught or explained. In the end it was clear the course was not suitable for beginners and when I tried to reach out to, admission and the student success team I received no reply. If you are certain that you will need very little information to learn about the subject you are taking and no support then this is the university for you. Good luck!

The University of York is one of the best in the UK. I did my Master's degree there and I have great memories. The quality of education is high. However, when I ordered a copy of the official transcript I received an email explaining that they do not have all the data for people who graduated before 2010!!! I mean what is this? I have received transcripts from the universities where I completed my Bachelor's degrees in 1997 and in 2000 but not from UoY which was the university where I completed my studies. That tells a lot about the quality of work that takes place there. Very disappointed, clearly an overrated university.

The campus itself is huge, you´ll need a few weeks to know where to go, but the information system is very well organized, and there are allways some nice People around you to ask for advice if needed. What surprised me a bit was the overall condition of the Buildings and Facilitys on the Campus itself, they seem a little bit Run down in my opinion and could use a little bit of Renovation here and there, but the overall impression was good, and the City of York provides a lot of nice places to go if you dont study :) so, yes i can recommend it for shure.

I will give it 2 stars since the building was amazing, but unfortunately the staff are very rude. It was my second week there and we had this social work program covered by prof. Venera Bektashi who was supposed to help immigrants find their true selves, instead she used to manipulate the students trying to get some free services from them and if she did not receive the expected services she would become abusive verbally. Such a shame for this facility to hire such unproffessional staff.

Huge place with a lot of green and lake. Many bridges and nice architecture buildings. Easily to get lost. The photos are in west side. If you want to move in the university from west to east for example the bus is free. The most useful buses are 66 and 66a. From the center of york is half n hour on foot and 10 minutes by bus. The route is so nice that you will prefer the first option. the Also has cafe and restaurants in each college. So that means that there are plenty of cafes. Big library, too buty students can go in.

My postgraduate course was acceptably if a bit shambolically taught, the research facilities were good and I was successful in getting a good job after it. Accommodation is generally OK on campus, but there isn't enough for those who want to work without the distraction of housekeeping. The social life is good, partly due to York's stellar real ale availability and the wide range of societies. The main problem with York is that the students think they're at another Oxbridge type university, and they're not. My first degree was from St Andrews, where the students are academically light years ahead of York and the teaching far superior. York is a very good university, but it has a long way to go to be amongst the real elite.
