I'm currently a student at Mohawk College. The campus is clean and we'll maintained. Near the library there is a beautiful plant wall.

Colin Brennan

Fantastic college, great modern campus, when live classes available, professional kind and experienced Professors, very happy with the applied music classical voice program!

I’m writing on behalf of my husband. He bought a simple 50$ course for on-line learning (continued education, not a Mohawk student) and they never initialized the course in spite of hours spent on the phone with them. What a time waste! Very disorganized facility. They were sending him back and forth everywhere, phoning different college numbers trying to figure out who can help. No one. Don’t even bother buying any course from Mohawk.

Large campus with lots of labs and small classrooms (most wont hold more than 100 students at a time) and terrible organization for students to be able to sit down and work and a computer but other than that, the new Gym is quite nice and the renovated food court has some great spots. All in all really clean and lately it's been updating the interior look which is quite pleasing to the eye.

Awful experience with the architectural technology program. Most of the professors in the architecture/building science department have little knowledge of what they are teaching. Do not make the same mistake I did if you are looking into one of these programs and choose a different school.

Their student services is a complete joke. Run by a bunch of 30 somthing females who blame students for things and dont actually do their job. You basically wait 30 mins at the square to be told that YOU need to go fix your problem. I've been a student here for 1 year and its already a worse experience then my 4 years at Conestoga. I did 1 summer course at Seneca college and their services were infinitely better and I wasnt even a full time student.

Do NOT waste your money attending this school. I attended one semester of the Pre-Health program, and it was a complete joke. The work load is non existent and when you email a teacher for clarification NO response. I visited a counsellor to help me decide about future programs and she was even less helpful. As for the tutoring, yes its available but only if they have enough staff and IF they can accommodate your schedule. So if your looking for an easy grade sure attend this school but if you actually want to learn something this is not the place.

It is splendid. The campus is state of the art, designed intelligently and is quite spacious. …

I had a pretty rad experiences my 3 years at Mohawk. I did computer courses and completed Social service worker program. I found a majority of my professors super supportive. The Accessibility service is amazing and the staff is top notch.

Really good college, good professors, good program choices, etc. Reason I took off one star rating is that the parking is a problem now. The residence streets nearby are getting pissed since students can't afford this expensive parking, …

I went to mohawk in 2009-2012. I made great friends and met alot of people. I learned a lot from my program. I had great teachers.

I love the campus and staff participate in obvious visual measures against COVID-19 which is reassuring, admin staff were largely friendly if quite busy. However... Beware of parking services. In the five to ten minutes between parking and entering a campus building to sign in and request access to Wi-Fi so I could download HONK! and purchase parking I was ticketed 35$. Thankfully their appeal process is reasonable and done through a department on the campus itself as opposed to by the city and took only two days before I received a response which cleared the ticket for me. *You are given five days to pay the ticket and you are also told that it could take the same amount of time for a response to your appeal request.

From what I could see and encounter, this is an awesome place and school to study. The layout is strategic, the staff - professor and the City - bustling. If you want to study, yet feel alive, this is the place to be!

Deciding to go through with the virtual program delivery was an enormous mistake. The faculty is great but this program delivery is absolutely atrocious. MyCanvas was not designed to be used this way and it shows, it is incredibly disorganized and some professors use some features while others don't so it's a guessing game to try and figure out what assignments you have to complete. I was given a time table but instead of having scheduled classes on a consistent basis sometimes classes are scheduled and other times you just get a pre recorded lecture. It honestly feels like I paid thousands in tuition to be teaching myself and it is overwhelming and an awful experience. I am furious that the college saw dollar signs and decided to go through with this dispicable excuse for an education method. They knew they would make money in cutting costs via virtual delivery and that was considered more important that providing a quality education.

One of the worst college ever, in aviation the materials are sooo old 10 years old the teachers tolds us half of what we study are way outdated, this college cares only for money, they worship international for their mony they don't care if …

I am supposed to have a mask fit today, and that instructor kept asking me to provide a proof that I finished my online course. I did finish it in few days ago, and I just couldn’t remember my password for MyCanvas. Seriously? Waste my time, and make me so angry today. I think they should have a system to check if a student finish the online courses or not. Today’s experience just made my depression and anxiety worse

Mohawk is a really great place for people who want to come out as working professionals at the end of the program. I am in my second year of the TV broadcasting program and in 2 years I've gained enough experience to qualify for a job in the industry. Proud to say I'm a student here.

just feels like they're taking advantage of students compared to the other college I've attended. teachers don't seem to engage with students or care, the math/phys/science/etc teachers seem to be either part time or teachers that don't seem to care and are just coming for the pay, whilst the courses like 'computer tech' have full time staff that seem to be more than willing to engage in helping you. making it incredibly difficult to engage with teachers on the subjects that would be considered more difficult (since they're part time and don't have as much of a stake in the college). E-learn was hardly used to communicate by math/phys/sci/envr teachers. side note; I think they may care more about international studies because they pay exponentially more to get education here (which to that point, even the amount that international students have to pay for a course compared to myself is insanity and incredibly scummy) cannot in good faith recommend this college to many people, maybe if you're going for a niche course, however I'd stay away if you were thinking of attending this college for engineering.

I am giving 0 point form my side. Go to other collages there are good options available. From my personal experience.

They are super helpful and caring. I am student in another college but because i failed in one course and my college was not offering it any sooner than 6 months. Therefore, i sent emails to several colleges and this was the college which i felt that really cared about my email and got back to me the next and provided all the details i needed. Best support i ever recieved for anybody in Canada . Specially, i thank Paula Golding and Karen bacher.

Mohawk College is an inclusive and welcoming space to study, to work, and to volunteer. I am grateful everyday for the quality of the education I am receiving. The teachers are passionate about the courses they teach and offer assistance and guidance when required.

Bibash Adhikari

Very bad reviews i am cancelling my intake

esS Cee

Long story short, I was here for a two year course. I was treated unfairly by the female staff because I'm a full time dad raising a daughter with special needs. Very rude and unprofessional people, dedicated towards ruining the lives of others. Graduated from here with the intention to earn myself better employment, left with stress and more hardship in my life.

Brendan McCartney

I've gone to this school a couple of times and they do offer good education. Most of the teachers I have had have been friendly and knowledgeable, with a few exceptions lol. Dealing with OSAP can be frustrating but it's not really the college's fault, it's a joint effort lol.

Alicia “NerrdyGirrl” Hinton

This is my second time attending this college, when I attended years ago it was a very different experience. The school held many events, frosh week was always a blast, the campus is massive, free gym membership on campus, and they have great selection of food, downside was parking was usually a nightmare. This year is a bit different, with classes online its a bit hectic, confusing and I knew it would be. In my course the professors are very supportive, the layout is making a bit more sense each day, the it department have been fantastic. One thing I will say is that it can be a bit difficult to get some answers from certain departments, but my course professors are doing a great job so far!

Horrible experience with the Photography program at Mohawk. Program had little to no direction, no updated assignments to match the quickly evolving industry. Lots of busy work and under qualified professors. The “work placement” program isn’t an actual work placement. They just leave you undirected to find your own volunteer work to fill hours. Scott is cocky and unwilling to take criticism to better his program. Would not recommend, you would be better off going to Sheridan College for photography, where you actually have access to makeup artists, models and other peers. Edit: I would like to add that the Associate Dean of Mohawk at the time I was a student there was condescending, childish, narcissistic, unintelligent, and incompetent. He is not capable of carrying out his duties and responsibilities. Avoid this school at all costs.

Valerie Pinard-Jain

I have been a virtual Mohawk College for several years. I find it a little confusing when I visit and thought that you would like a little insight before coming. The campus is beautiful.

Wanming Hu

Ok, so I would like to say, Mohawk College is a good college, I have finished 3 years coding course in this college, and what they taught is new technologies and it is useful. Professors, at my time, they are responsible knowledgable and resourceful. Hardware, sure, yes the hardware of Mohawk college is not the best, but they trying the best to improve them. Plus, the president sometimes are around to check out, which means, they cares. Mohawk is not like some other colleges who will always try to become a "University", and present to students with a big mouth. So, they are concentrated on that college education.

Asa janaghaei

The college staff not helpful at all, emailed and called several people and sections about my emergency situation, and its a month after that and still no response!!! This college just want international students money without caring. Thats it

SAAD

For a student institution its not student friendly. Everything is so expensive and no free parking. Getting a street parking ticket is cheaper then a mohawk parking ticket.... Nice people and a half decent campus but nothing for entertainment but to get drunk at the cellar.

Stephen K

Technically a public space. But since covid they've remade the campus into a bunker. All entrances are locked except for 2 and you will not be admitted in unless you're a student - even if you're vaccinated. If you're looking to access the food court and grab a coffee, you're out of luck.

Simar SIngh

College never responds to any emergency situations such as documents requested. Awaiting response since 2 weeks.

MERCEDEZ AMG C300

Best college, amazingly friendly and supportive teachers!!! But of course you have some that are iffy but 9/10 are amazing! Would highly recommend but encourage to do own research as well at the end of the day it’s just my experience! ????

Can't I give zero star !?? I am an international student and paid my fees for the whole year and after getting my visas when I registered myself for the course all I got from them was a mail stating the course I was already full. And other programs suggested by them were not even relevant to my field. And now when I call them up and ask for help all I get to hear is choose from the course suggested to you or ask for refund... And this is what I get a week before start date of my program. Poor management, at least inform students well in advance or provide relevant options so that they don't have to waste their whole year.

Ashley

I did a full time one year program and it was amazing, I learned a lot while I was there. I am currently doing the continuing education programs Make-up Artistry night classes. I love the classes it works around your schedule and it's a really good price for each course. There shouldn't be any bad reviews since you are being the adult should be not waiting for the teacher to spoon feed you.

Febin Thomas

I am sorry to say that it's a worst behaviour from the collage, not giving any response to the emails, not giving any proper solutions nobody is taking care of students, these people's want's only students money nothing more. because of the management worst behaviour we lost our seat and now these people's are saying that they can't give admission for the required seat.why they are playing with students future. Because of there late response I am unable to do the proper procedure on right time.now iam going to lose my one year.this is cheating.you are responsible.if we are asking some urgent requirements they are giving the reply after 7,8days. And even that also not the right thing.what we have to do.those students who took the admission in your collage is crying, they lost there money and not getting there seat's

Do not go to this school, I would recommend university or other local colleges over this one. Humber college, Sheridan college or Brock university are other good options. Reaching out for help in this college is hard. Professors do not give the required help needed during the Covid-19 impacted year, some not even offering zoom lectures. No care packages given during covid which was not expected but later realized that almost every other educational institute provided such tools and recourse for their students. Not enough tutoring or student TA’s in any of the programs. Teachers/ professors are VERY hard to reach at this school, sometimes having to send multiple emails on high alert to never respond to.

Khrystyna Vanieieva

I was taking English course and paid for two levels and after I've got some personal problems. So I decided to leave the college after I've finished first level and was about to take the money back , but they refused my request. I gave all the documents I had , but still didn't work out. Whenever I tried to do my best , they kept telling me no. I was even ready to talk with the main person in the college , and what do you think ? Still no, and didn't get any money and was not allowed to talk with anyone. I lose $3 500 to the garbage bin . I put the 1 star only for the really helpful people there. I'm strongly not recommending this college for international students. I really appreciate the teachers there and the people who were on a charge ........

Ayay multifandom

Ridiculous parking prices and I literally think those parking patrolers camp out to give at least 1-3 tickets a day to students, even for parking out of lines and to top it of no room for parking, just first serve basis, do they even plan? Any plan for students? They just make students pay but don't even acknowledge them. One time the lot was full and they said park at the mall, there is a city bus. What was the use of a parking pass then? I think a high school student could do better budgeting.Very disorganized staff that blame students and don't take the fault of their own errors, very immature. They take your money and screw students over, they don't tell you when courses are full and people don't have the time to sit around their computers to wait for a call back from their services. Even when my friend paid in full up front online and did not get the course they wanted, so they only give opportunity to some students...my question is ..on what basis do they choose which get to choose their courses online or not? Completely unfair and ridiculous. It's disheartening for students to stress about money on top of their schoolwork. Overall: Unimpressed, disappointed, it is a greedy school, they Don't acknowledge the struggles of those students who aren't rich and can just throw 2, 000 away. And don't have high hopes of getting the courses you want, because most likely they will be full. Complete BS.

jaspinder singh

The worse place in the world. They don’t deserve any star.Stupid registration staff , the don’t understand what is someone saying.

I wanted to give zero star.... I applied to Mohawk college for Jan. 21 intake but due to visa delay I applied for refund on 7th January. I also mailed college about my refund process and on same day college mailed me on 25 feb. that I didn't fill any webform regarding refund. And it will take more 6 to 8 weeks for process and they will deduct 2200 $. How they can deduct huge amount of money without attending any single lecture.!! Very poor refund policy. I am giving this review so I can highlight this issue.

I am a future student of this college. the college made a application called 'I cent' and I need to put my information before go to college and before my enter to Canada. This application is AWFUL. the system does not seem to fit international student. it is showing error, not fillable and very unstable. the college staff is NOT HELPFUL at all. They don't even know about this system well. Especially the Korean staff for international students. It is such a waste of my time. I already regret why I register this college where even they can't make one application stable.

krishna gajjar

No concern fir student's future. We are waiting from January. They're asking us to defer again for January 2021. #studentstimematters You just can not decide one day if you don't wanna follow the rules of Canadaian Government and make your own rules. Avail online classes on the basis of partial permit. It's our right.

Edit: have lowered my rating to 1 star from 2 stars. I have tried to contact the financial office several times and was told I'd receive a call back about my reimbursement costs. Never did. They're reply below is useless. Good luck with this school, all! Wouldn't enroll in the PSW government funded course. There are several course requirements which you are to pay for yourself and will supposedly get reimbursed for, but nobody answers about when you'll be reimbursed, if ever. There's also a rule requiring you pay back your books if you drop the course, even though the government program has already funded them. You have no idea ahead of time where the possibility of your placement is. If you miss the in person lab, there's no rescheduling, even though you're supposed to stay home if you feel any symptom according to covid policy.

Mohawk College. Not as morally great as you expect. Pop up under community College results. This is more a adult daycare for children then it is a way to get a leg up in the world. Lovely setting tho

The Finance Department need a raise, not only are they thorough they are life saving and caring. This is a great place to start and reinvent your career. The infrastructure is splendid and the teaching staff is experienced, knowledgeable and very friendly. There are so many different activities going on like cultural events, sports, technical events, etc. The training Courses provided are world class and extremely well designed to leverage learner brains.A great place to grow and share knowledge.

Brandon Cole

Completely disorganized and everything has become asynchronous (teachers post stuff and you're on your own). Don't apply here if you want hands-on experience. Do apply here if you want a brutally sub-par learning experience, with teachers having no idea what's going on and schedules that are changing day to day. They only care about your money, not you.

I am a future student of Mohawk college , I got offer letter in September 2020 and they told us that we can start online course as we can not come to Canada because of COVID, considering them I paid my fees and before September I had my AIP and they came up with a twist in the story that in my course labs are mandatory so I was not allowed to start the online program. They purposely informed us after the fees is paid so we can not change our decision. It is just a business not a school they don't care about student's future and money. Now they are not giving me 15 days extension even and forcing me to defer my intake. Nobody is replying your email or phone. I am regretting my decision to choose mohawk college .

MDobri2378

Bad experiences at this college! I never went here but have taken online courses through my college. This was the second time I took an online course here and was disappointed! I feel the teachers do not really accommodate students as much although, my last previous instructor did give a better hearted effort than the last one. Unless I really need to take a course online through Mohawk I will be avoiding it in the near future!

So cheap. Today got an notification that the email is not longer available for guaduated student after Nov this year and only available to staffs and current students. Just so cheap, remind me of the terrible parking experience when i was a student there. There are some really good teacher there, but the school is purely abt getting money not education.

NAT T

Terrible school..They just want screw students and take your money.Took a computer course had to purchase a very over priced book teacher told me to read the book and i will know what to do while she sat in her chair on her phone .Any thing you asked her i was told it was in the book..Wow I could have done that without going to their overpriced courses ..What do you need a teacher for when i just had to read a book. Total waste of money go to a real college elsewhere .And do not park out side of a parking line when their is no parking they are hard up for money their wanna be cops will give you a $50 ticket yet..Beware of this screw the student school . They just want to take your money anyway they can!

Cassie D

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. Here are some of the following reason -Teachers do not care whatsoever about the students; all they care about is the money. -I can't even count how many times I have had classes cancelled and no reschedule of them ( also class time being change all the time with last min notice ) - You can never get a hold of anyone from the college itself, so trying to get the help you need is near impossible. -Good luck on trying to get the help you are on your own. most teachers will not answer your emails, and when you ask in class about it, they will just avoid it - Also, never taking complaints about teachers seriously If you are thinking about applying to Mohawk college, I hope you read all of these reviews and think about your choices again. There are much better colleges out there that will treat you with respect and have teachers that care about you.

So after paying around $3,500 for a business program, I was told for almost each class I had to buy a separate thing online for these courses. These are American companies who get paid by colleges to come up with questions for students to save teachers time. Absolute waste of money, please go to any other college that would actually show interest in something else besides your wallet. All the content that was provided in the course was basically high school level when I took academic so I guess I paid $3,500 to go back to high school. The teachers are very nice but obviously they are because their job is done by another website generating questions for students to work on while the teacher sits back and runs up due dates. I was taking an online program and was told that I must go in to campus this January as thy we're canceling the online version of my program and I do not want to attend campus as I do not have my vaccines and they we're so quick to refund my money and not give me possible options for change. If you wanna spend $3,500 on something for your future do not spend it here, invest in a business or make your own business with that money because you won't learn anything here either. The only reason the school is favourited is because the parties at residency and the on-campus activities available. It also doesn't help when they push all the good reviews to the top so you will probably never see this!

I am writing this review on behalf of a mother of a potential applicant who had a bad experience with the college " I had contacted the college back in December 2020 to inquire about admissions at the college for English program for my son who will be finishing high school in Qatar in June 2021. I was connected with some who is responsible of Arab speaking countries, however, she does not speak a single word in Arabic which we weren't able to communicate with her and get the information we need. She sent us an email in Arabic after a back and forth emails in English and we had to wait for someone who speak English to translate for us. Unfortunately that was quite a challenge for us specially the information she sent was clearly Google translated which was inaccurate. Over all it was a bad experience and we ended up finding a college called Centennial where we recieved an amazing assistance by a staff member who speaks Arabic fluently. I would never recommend Mohawk College to anyone who speaks Arabic and trying to study English in Canada because they will not get the assistance they need. We have to push our son super hard otherwise he end up coming next year and have to spend extra money. Some of the professors were good but generally do not recommend it.

This is a light 2 stars. I attended Mohawk for about three semesters before I dropped out . I had experienced a very difficult time in my life and I don’t feel like the school “supports” were supportive at all. Why would you tell someone who is grieving to just get over it ? I also had to witness very inappropriate signs along the way of my experience. Not blaming the college at all for the signs , but at least bring more awareness and a no nonsense policy to the people who enter your campus. Overall I was not happy with how my program was delivered. I almost fell out of love with what I wanted to do . I was so distraught that I had to drop out but luckily, I am about to graduate at a different college and I will be moving on to getting my degree.

Dan Holloway

Student Accessibility is amazing, but some of the instructors seem dated in their knowledge or in some cases unwilling to teach material from this millennium. Which is troubling since I was in the programming course, since technology is obsolete within 6 months- 1 year. Some professors care and some stick around to stay on the sunshine list.

Big thanks to all my Business Accounting teacher like Mike Elliott, Miss Carol , Miss Patricia , Miss Monica and all other teachers . I was international student the way they taught I learned everything more practical from them . I started as pizza maker in canada , then I got good financial accounting jobs , then in logistics and many more Industries with in 5 years I came to that spot that now I am getting my own commercial helicopter license. Thanks Mohawk and all my teachers to make my dream come true . There is no words to describe my feelings they support me like my parents in Canada. I am also crying but in happy tears of success and wealth that I got from such a good and great country Canada

They using a student. And they care about money more than student this is business not school (this is the place where you lose money without getting knowledge). Ready before APPLY.

Alexis Schiffer

If I could give this no stars then I would. Not worth the money. You’re better off at McMaster or University of Toronto or something else. The staff can be very disorganized and unhelpful. The help centre was confusing and The Presto Card was a nightmare to activate. Tried to explain my situation but the MSA couldn’t help me and kept Saying I had to call Presto themselves. Gee thanks for helping! I had to take a Communication Course and the teacher promised that she would reply to ALL emails within 24 hours. I sent her at least two and I never got a reply back. I fell behind and she was never there when I tried calling her. Several courses literally felt like they were holding her hand to do something that you could do in your own free time. Parking is annoying and the food can be so expensive. Several electives in my course seemed pretty useless. Lots of money wasted on “mandatory” textbooks that I rarely used. Again NOT worth your time or money.

Emily Strijd

Not only will they lie to you the whole time you're there in regards to your classes, assignments, and placement, but they expect you to extend grace to teachers that teachers will never extend to you. I am about to graduate from their nursing program and have had 1 truly nice teacher in total. All information received is last second and by that I mean each time I started clinical placement I wasn't told where to go until the night before, morning of, or 2 days after placement was supposed to start, there was absolutely no communication. Don't even get me stated on the 'help' they offer in student services, they will waste hours of your time on purpose. I dont know if other colleges are the same but knowing how Mohawk treats its students I would never come back and I'm happy there is no graduation ceremony as I am in no way proud of having graduated from here.

This review is to recognize John F who works at the campus bookstore. I received a damaged item when I ordered from the bookstore online, but John went the extra mile in helping me exchange damaged item. He literally working off-the-clock just to help me get the item I ordered. Thanks for the hard work John, I really appreciate it!

Playing with student's future. I secured my seat for May and then had to defer in September. Now the only exception Mohawk is saying without full study permit I can not study online. If government is allowing all colleges are agreeing what is the point then.

I would not encourage anyone to attend this college. Now I usually don't give one star ratings, but one of the biggest regrets of my life was to enroll myself into this place. The first thing I want to say is that this college is first and foremost a business. Most of the staff and professors here don't care if you learn anything. They are mainly here to take your money. People here want to rip you off. The high parking expenses are ludicrous. The restaurants here are substandard. I actually got sick a few times from eating the food here, which makes me question the food safety practices that these workers are suppose to take. I also noticed they seemed to have more interest in "carnival rides" and entertainment events for some reason. While I'm not against having entertainment at all, however, I feel that they put more emphasis in that than in educational development and academic achievement. This place makes things more difficult than it has to be (for no reason what so ever). It feels like they want you to fail deep down inside, so you can keep attending this place as long as possible and get all the money they want from you until you go broke. I tried to give this place a second chance throughout most of my semesters (hopefully things will change for the better), but I have not seen this happen. Even when I complained about some of my issues, they (some of the staff in the college) seem to brush off my comments and showed no genuine interest in what I had to say. If you want to get a good quality education and something that will boost your career, please save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else. I feel sorry for some of the people who had to attend this place.

Well they reply and process offer letters only for immigration agents there is no response for normal international applicants. College's international academic section sucks, they never reply to emails and dont answer calls. On the other side immigration agents from india gave 100 % surety for offer letter if you go with them. If you apply your own you will get nothing just wastage of time. Its all about the sharing of percentage of commission agents get from college and sharing with their partners. Academic section and agents are running scam ????????????

I was enrolled in gas technician course of the winter last year i understand covid was difficult for all of us but the lack of communication and last minute cancellations/changes have finally pushed me to the edge. It has impacted my career and id advise anyone to try and attend a different college if possible because mohawk has proven to me that they did not care about me as a student.

Not bad but definitely not the best college for Aviation but hopefully I graduated on time and got a job in my own field. You have to push yourself super hard otherwise you end up coming next year and have to spend extra money. Some of the professors were awesome ???? but some don’t care at all.

I don't take this review lightly, and it's with great disappointment that I urge people to read my review, and absorb my negative experience to their benefit. I am currently enrolled in a program that requires a set amount of field placement hours. My graduation is contingent upon me completing these hours. I am one month away from finishing my 4th semester and Mohawk College failed to find me a field placement. I will not be graduating, and my $20,000 spent on this program has been wasted. Now, before I simply blame Mohawk College for not being able to find me a field placement, there is more information that needs to be provided. We were told by my program coordinator that students are under no circumstances allowed to find their own placement. Students are not allowed to send resumes to and hiring firms. All resumes must be sent through Mohawk College, and if we obtain our own placement without Mohawk College's blessing, it will be taken away from us and given to another student. I hope that now, my frustration with Mohawk College is completely justified and transparent. My resume was sent to approximately 5 or 6 hiring firms that were willing to accept students. The college didn't actually attempt to find me a field placement, they simply sent 10-20 resumes to these hiring firms, and the hiring firms "cherry picked" the students they wanted. I received absolutely no follow up from any of these firms or from Mohawk College to inform me that I was not selected or was not successful in obtaining a field placement. The hiring firms did not conduct interviews, they simply picked the names of the people they thought would be the most attractive, and selected them for field placement. The last straw for me was in a class, a student publicly informed the chat that they wanted to stay in their field placement for longer than the required hours, and simply "not inform" the college that he was finished. If I can provide some context, the students who were unlucky enough to not be selected for a placement were encouraged and informed "When students finish their placement, they will be completed and the hiring firms will take on a new round of students" That seemed more than fair to me, so I was happy to restrain from frustration. Now when this student told our class that he wanted to under-claim the amount of hours he had completed, the response from our professor was "What a great way to go above any beyond". And to make matters more devastating, the professor who endorsed that idea is a field placement host. In summary, I completed all of the required courses with an average above 80%, I was on the deans honour role in my first semester, and I failed to graduate from Mohawk College after spending $20,000 and a year of my time on a two-year diploma program. I strongly advise you readers, to stay as far as you can from Mohawk College. They will happily take your tuition and fail to fulfill their duty to you.
