The path that leads down from UofT Scarborough campus into Morningside Park is absolutely magical. You can see deer, muskrat, beaver, squirrels and all kinds of birds. Great spot. Park at Miller-Lash House or by the dog park in the valley on Old Kingston Road where Highland Creek runs under it.

Such a nice campus! Set on the edge of a picturesque valley, backing onto Morningside Park. If you're interested in a walk off the beaten path, take a stroll around the campus, check out the "Rock Walk", the Sakura Grove, and take the winding path down to the valley floor. Truly a hidden gem.

I did not have the best experience the first and the second year I attended this university. But it’s only as positive as you think it to be. The sciences program is pretty solid here. Lots of opportunities to create extracurricular opportunities or join it. You can form some great relationships here if you choose to. It is a very small campus so it is great to not have to walk far distances to attend classes. It also has an amazing park called The Valley, which is a great stress relief. This university is very inclusive, intimate, and a close community. You choose what you want to do and you get out of it what you put in. I highly recommend joining extracurricular activities as well as any school opportunities. Good luck with your future studies:)

The Scarborough campus of UofT is more of an afterthought. Kinda in the middle of nowhere, not a whole lot to do on campus. The place doesn't look exactly great (underground hallways and classes are called UTSC dungeons), not many places to eat (EDIT: Food in campus are not properly handled, beware) or hang out; and there are few opportunities and clubs going around. The place desperately needs more study space. The campus union is royally corrupt. Being a commuter campus doesn't help, and the mood around you is desolate. Apparently everyone is struggling, and nobody gives a damn about fixing it. Also be prepared for freakishly long commutes. The WiFi is pretty bad too. Programs and profs are pretty much a hit or miss, and they hardly care about student performance. In short, it is the Australia of UofT. Not sure what the Pan Am Centre did to fix anything. Gets mercy points for being a safe campus and having the Morningside Park connected with the main campus.

Campus grounds are nice. Cool staff, and students feel, young, wild, and free. In line for the cafeteria, of course. Aha

Nicholas Haggarty

A welcome and very tight-knit community, the Scarborough campus is a wonderful break from the busy life of downtown Toronto. With plenty of access to the campus via public transit, it's easy to find your way. Professors are very approachable and class sizes are well considered. With the arrival of pandemic, the class offerings have diminished but the effort put in by the professors to create a quality online learning environment is undeniable. UTSC is a great campus to still stay connected with nature without losing out on the interconnectedness of the city. Highly recommended!

Rude and sexist registrar advisors. Decided to take a semester off once and went to the registrar, instead of giving solid advice a white woman with short blonde hair and glasses was literally laughing at my marks and commented how "guys think they are so tough" and "did you want to cry in the back"? Disgusting behaviour, tried to report it to Academic advising but they didn't care much at all. Boring commuter school, no social or campus life, small library. Only positive is that there are a few good professors, and the school is still fairly new and clean and always renovating/getting new equipment. Otherwise it kind of looks like a dungeon.

Ugliest campus hands down (except for the sakura trees). Great community though and (for the most part) great profs. The amount of research opportunities is abundant and obtaining leadership positions isn't hard. Like someone before me said, ignore the people who complain about marks. They're not that hard to get provided you actually do your work properly.

Manish Pawar

It's quite a great school academically, and the staff are all really nice. The location of it is the only downside. If only they built an LRT here.

S M

The campus is quite scattered and the buildings aren't very well-labelled so it was quite hard to navigate (I go to UTSG). The study desk dividers didn't go all the way to the end of the table. So sometimes if you are just staring mindlessly to the side, you end up making awkward eye contact with the person sitting beside you. A little strange contact that I didn't necessarily want to have. Otherwise decent campus.

This campus is different than downtown. It's a great way to get your education in an area that will cost you less than downtown. You'll make your connections drinking and eating together in houses instead of in the downtown clubs and bars. If you dying for that true Toronto experience this isn't the campus for you but if you want to get your schooling done away for the massive temptation that is the city it's great. You still have the opportunity to get into the city proper but you'll do it 2 or 3 times a month vs everyday. Also some programs do lack things (I.E. studying cadavers and such) that's part of it, if your life needs those things then this isn't the campus for you.

Attending UTSC was the best decision I ever made. Despite the stress from workload that comes with higher learning, I had the best time of my life. Most of the professors will do their utmost to ensure you have all the help you need but then there are few who could care less… but overall, it is a wonderful place to learn and grow. Thank you for everything UTSC.

Horrible experience at this school. Has professors that can't speak English properly at a Canadian institution of higher learning in this day and age. Aesthetically the campus has gotten better over the years, but that doesn't matter in a place where education comes first. Also if you want a job don't come here as I have many friends still struggling to find even basic work, it's better to just to a polytechnic school instead. It's cheaper and you can find work relatively quickly.

Hafia Khafia

2nd year, not the best campus based on looks but we do have a new science building on the way and the Pan Am sports center is AMAZING! All my profs have been really nice and helpful. My grades are great so far and made many friends. Hoping it stays that way for the years to come.

OK place to study. No cheap healthy food options but there is a La Prep on campus. The library is pretty large but it does get crowded quickly and places near outlets on campus are nearly always taken. Other than that class sizes are manageable and it's a beautiful campus to study on. The professors are overall great to talk to and very responsive to individuals during class and office hours.

Third yr student here and still trying (fighting sometimes) with others to secure a studying space on campus. Library is WAY TOO SMALL for the school population of more then 10000 students. Cafeteria can do better - food services are the worst here, menus have been unchanging for past decades. Optical, drug stores and Canada post service should be included where you have so many people to serve. Teaching quality is almost the same as other campuses where intro courses are overcrowded and marks+assignments are merely done by TAs. Hard to even bond with any profs beyond second year (forget about recommendation letters unless you do a D level or obtain research/ta/fsg position with the prof). In conclusion, it is the administrative issue that can be addressed by innovative (true to the schools branding motto) policies and management! I still love UofT and would pick it all over again for its research opportunities, this is where I met so many wonderful people but regrettably the campus facilities are nothing to write home about!

The architecture is soulless. Compare UTSC with the downtown campus. The BEAUTY of the St. George campus is what sets it apart from the surrounding architecture and marks the building as a place where new ideas emerge. The architecture at UTSC on the other hand will not increase in value in 100 years. It will depreciate faster than a 2010 Chevy Equinox leaving the dealership.

It's UofT, even if it's in Scarborough. What's not to like about it??? I'll tell you. It's the bus loop. Some of the people "waiting" for the bus (mostly Durham bus), look like high school drop-outs or as if they go to college. It sucks but UTSC is located near Malvern. Hence, it loses the feel of a university. They should relocate UTSC to a more affluent area.

Great university with a student-focused attitude. The environment is very friendly and staffs and faculty are knowledgeable and well-informed. If you are thinking of applying, I would highly recommend applying to the co-op program to gain work-related experience that will help you land a job after you graduate. Even if you do not pursue a co-op program, there are tons of employment and volunteer experience available around campus that you can get involved in and with a smaller student population, you face less competition for these positions than a larger-size campus like UTSG

The billing and invoice system for students is opaque and extremely difficult to understand. It makes you think the university is hiding behind a complicated and opaque system so you don't understand how much how much you will pay for your degree. I wish they would do a better job at billing and invoicing. Starbucks does a better job to be honest. Food on campus is horrible and there is a lack of study spaces. I would assume food and a good library would be basic things.(fyi i will end up paying $200,000 over four years for my degree) It boggles my mind.
