You have the feddbacks of real people like you who are using the products of Algonquin College Ottawa Campus (University) near Ottawa (Canada).
As of day this business has a score of 4 over 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings is quite positive, and it's founded on a large number of opinions, so we may think that the evaluation is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to value when they are happy with the business, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This University belongs to the category of College.

This is definitely the worst place you can stay. The customer service reps are rude, the rooms basically do not have any amenities. I would advice you not to waste your money!
I graduated from a graduate certificate program in 2014 and really enjoyed my time at the school. Having been to a larger University I appreciate the smaller school feeling.
Great college where you can easily learn a trade!
I just graduated in June, i had an awesome experience at the college. The profs are friendly and they know their materials.
Beautiful college! Nice place near the shopping and grosery mall
Overall a great school, nice campus. Only thing is some of the professors have been there so long they do as they please and remain unquestioned.
Cheers! Love my college!
Very regret to take the e commerce supply chain program - 5 years couldn’t graduate yet
The started charging a flat fee ($5?) for evening parking when it would be more appropriate to do time based and maxed out at the flat rate level. Pretty unhappy to be asked to pay that for 15 minutea
Covid protocols still in place, cafeteria is open, construction is done. Education to be had here.
This college is amazing! I had a blast here and definitely the place to learn and have fun life experiences! Low tuition, large variety of programs and possibility to upgrade to degree at other accredited universities makes this the place to go! I recommend going here first before university if you don't know what kind of future you expect to have!
Algonquin College mostly, (and often it's mandatory), hires ONLY people with university degrees, essentially telling prospective students that their English only education and diploma are of little value in the NCR and now much of Canada, as you need to be bilingual for the job. To make the matter worse, MANY positions at Algonquin also require bilingualism in this English only business. (I'll never forget the staff meeting where students were called FU's. (Yup, "funding units". It's a nice personal touch, nes pas?) Talk about hypocritical institutions! They sell a product of little value to students and employers across the country while Algonquin will defend that you ALSO need a degree. Effectively, they are telling kids (and their parents!) you now need 6 years of education to get a job over 60K in this country. It's turned into a business that pays astronomical salaries to all the VP'S, and management. Do not believe that bull about Algonquin College being "one of Ottawa's best employers. I'm certain those surveyed with permanent, unionized employees making an excellent salary. The college employs more casual and part-time staff than they do permanent staff. If you asked the part time group, I can assure you, that status of a best employer is also BS. I learned to be honest with students at the first class that their diploma is mostly useless and if you wish to secure a good job, drop the college and go directly to university. I taught a lot of 17 and 18 year old students who are far too young to be flipping high school students directly into a program. (That's also why you are NOT reimbursed any money after you miss the withdrawal date.) I tried, more than once, to have the college create a new mandatory entrance one year program to teach and model lifeskills. These kids don't know jack about the real world and their parents need to push them into a life's kills program so they can succeed without having to cheat and plagiarize their way through through a program they neither want nor need. Higher education requires a higher set of skills, skills you can't simply absorb by osmosis. Consider yourself warned! ???? So, all in all
For the most part my experience here was an enjoyable one I would gladly repeat. The instructors have real experience and know their stuff, and several of them have become good friends long after. I was given a great opportunity before even finishing my last year there, and was hired right out. (Game Development Program). Facilities are well maintained and staffed, and the hours on the student services are reasonable. Plenty of opportunities available to change curriculum through student feedback.
Have gone over here,, studied here. The studies are good, it is also a good spot to hang out with friends
Excellent service and friendly staff
Thank you to Monica at the registrars office for the assistance provided today and for being so friendly!
This college's health services is a joke. Had an appointment for a 5 minute test, waited over two hours until closing and watched people who had appointments after me get let in. Ended up having to leave because they closed. If you can't take people in, don't schedule them.
What an operation this college runs, and not in a good way whatsoever. They don't actually care about the student experience, it's just a big cash grab. I tried to contact the program coordinator of the program I wanted to enroll in. After sending him two emails and leaving him two voicemails I heard nothing back - he is a professor in the Sport Business Management program so I understand he is busy - but don't be the program coordinator if you don't have time to get back to prospective students!!! Good luck getting a timely response from ANYONE at the college. What a terrible establishment - you won't be collecting $15,000 in tuition fees from me anymore since I pulled out of the program before the term started.
I love Algonquin. Great instruction, wonderful sense of community. I really value the inclusive environment. I feel being apart of the college has greatly enhanced my life not just my knowledge and skills.
I attended college at Algonquin College between 2006 and 2009, and graduated from Travel and Tourism (Travel Salesperson), and Media Communications. I also took a French course. There were lots of highs and lows at this school, but overall I became a better person after my time spent here. This college prepped me for the business world, and it was a huge learning experience. I also got into going to the gym because of their college gym.
This college is awesome. Dozens of self studying rooms, modern equipments and enthusiastic professors ever seen.
This is the best post-secondary education institution for Graphic Design in the province.
Great memories from the time I spent studying at this institution. The college has a very good esprit de corps and the subject material was interesting. The professors were knowledgeable, professional and supportive.
Fantastic atmosphere, great selection of courses and Lovely lecturers.
Has changed my life !
I took the Electrical Engineering Technician program. Worst experience of my life. Here is a list of what to expect if you take this program: 1. Staff who simply do not care 2. Teachers who consistently show up late 3. Teachers who get upset with you when you ask a question 4. Never expect to get your marks back (I went into multiple exams without a clue of how I was doing in the class) 5. Extreme disorganization and unprofessionalism so beyond belief, it was distasteful I am all for learning and growing past mistakes, however Algonquin and their employees made little to no effort at all to rectify any of their errors to make it a better program. For that reason alone, I'm giving it a 1/5. I truly hope in the future, they will be able to rectify all of the above.
I have seen a lot of bad reviews, They might be correct, but maybe they were just unlucky. I am not doing a diploma here, rather I'm doing my degree on Bach of Info Tech on Lasers and Photonics. So far a year has passed, there was no trouble or anything, I am originally admitted in Carleton university and Algonquin is my second campus where I mostly do the practical work and to be honest the labs in Algonquin are a lot better than the ones in Carleton. They have all the latest equipment and everything works great. Hope this keeps going for 3 more years.
anyone else having application offer letter delay for winter 2018?
Have to say I loved my time at Algonquin College. There are a lot of programs and courses to choose from. The campus has a lot of amenities and is walking distance to a shopping district of outlets, groceries, beer/liquor, and fast food stores. The campus seems to be always growing... must be doing something right! Right? Highly recommend this Ottawa College!
Ever growing school. Great place to learn. I learned a lot from them. This place has a really good atmosphere too. Very friendly students. Nicely renovated I might add
Cost me my admission to university as they never sent over my transcript to the university, yet they were telling me they did...now I have to wait 8 additional months to go to school because of a mistake on their part. Called them asking what happened and they said it was probably a "firewall". What a joke. Extremely frustrating and disheartening that an institution of this size would be so careless and irresponsible.
Great school, overall great teachers, and decent amenities. While I can't speak for all departments, I can usually count on the T building staff and Tech based professors to be courteous and friendly. The teachers here don't just come in to get their paycheck, they come to help you grow your career and have a personal investment in your success. The only reason I rate 4/5 is due to the lack of on site amenities and lack of extra curriculars. There are quite a few clubs but limited to no sports team. In terms of amenities the only great thing about this school is the Baseline station that's attacked to campus. Food wise, there's an okay selection but is pretty bland in my opinion and quite expensive for small and unsatisfying portions.
Love AC, best place to learn, in and out of school. #AC4L #IronApesFam
Algonquin Is a great place to go to school. Close to transit and shops including groceries. Rent in the area is also much less than those around the two universities.
Best collage in Ontario
Overcrowded. Understaffed. Overpriced.
Beautiful place.
I studied in an online program for 3 years and the teachers were not only disrespectful, they had no interest in teaching and were poorly organized. The faculty I have met in person at the registrars office are consistently belittling, ignorant, and unsympathetic. I graduated early to get out of the toxic business of the school and it took more than 6 months for me to argue to get my diploma.
A wonderful School. Amazing co-op programs great instructors and teachers. You'll definitely get your money's worth for your education and make lifelong friendships along the way.
This is an AWESOME college! I went here 17 years ago and it changed my life
Has lots of good professors, however some are there just for their paycheck and could care less if you needed help. Most of the professors I have had have been very knowledgable and helpful. Cafeteria food is alright but nothing special, if you want better quality food go to The Observatory or Chances R, however it is more expensive. Overall my experience at the school has been very good and would reccomend going there for anyone who wants to go to college in Ottawa.
Algonquin is the best college in all over community colleges,They are providing quick response and very helpful. Mainly the international officer Ken Beadle is very suportive international officer.
The worst college in Canada , the international admission office is the most inefficient team I have ever seen. They do not care about quality and students sanctification they only care about money . Its very very difficult to contact them.
The online classes are very expensive but the college itself is very clean. It's a great learning environment and they have some of the best equipment in their labs. I have been to OttawaU and the La Cite; Algonquin is by far the best out of the three. Their online learning is a lot better and easier to follow as well as their student portal. Their classes and as I said equipment is a lot nicer. I have no real complaints, books are expensive but no more than any other school. I am excited to continue my education with Algonquin!
Good Institution in Standard and Quality, ushering students into the job market, well equipped and skilled.
You will love to study in this school but it's just a bit expensive
It's clinical system does poorly by its students (especially those with disabilities) on multiple accounts. The clinical staff are quick to punish mistakes and publicly humiliate students who are new and learning in their chosen fields. They don't seem to want students to pass they just want to benefit from the free labor as staff put in no effort to help struggling students or advocate for better learning environments. The school staff also fail not only passively, (as it takes weeks to access information or get a response back if you have anything more than a simple yes or no question) but also actively, as they do things that impede progress through clinical practices. Clinicals have no flexibility and any ambiguous conflict between a student and a clinical instructor the school staff always side with the instructor resulting in the student having to start from scratch. I don't recommend doing any courses at Algonquin with a clinical unless you are already a master in the chosen field (and even then tread carefully).
My school. Love it
Algonquin College was my home from 2011-2013, I cant believe my College days are gone. This College is one of the best colleges in Canada. Very nice environment, everyone is friendly. Some teachers are here for the money, others are here to help you succeed. I graduated from Robotics Engineering program, one of the hardest programs in the college. I went thru tough and stressful days to succeed, no one supported me, had to do everything my self. I was very young back then and fresh. I wish I go back to college days, best time I will ever have my entire life, every time I go for a visit I cry so much. Farewell Algonquin College.
Great building, good facilities. Wi-fi reception is great. Lots of seating. Also, there's a Starbucks!
Love this college!
Great college. I had an excellent experience with the staff. They were very helpful, supportive and understanding and willing to assist. The environment of the school is very positive, and motivated student to excel. I love Building AC the most. The school also features a big library, Starbucks on campus, and so many other resources. Great school.
may your college provide oncampus jobs for overseas students or not?
I truly enjoyed my experience at this college. I went there for 3 years. Made several longtime friends. Not only are their programs thorough and hands-on, the professors are usually helpful and knowledgeable and kind. There are also numerous opportunities put on by the student association and the college to help you meet friends, go to events at a student discount, get involved in volunteer opportunities, and find the perfect Co-op's. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a secondary education.
I wish they were willing to teach beginners like in computer programming.
Their theatre is new and a very nice venue.
great college ever, the teachers master their courses, they are nice and so helpful. many events and activities are organised to help connect with people and make friends. I am doing computer systems technician program and I enjoy studying here. I would recommend it to anyone.
Love the learning environment and the atmosphere. Multiple places to study both inside and outside, and a good assortment of things to eat if you get hungry.
Such a cool college
I really had a very bad experience .I went from hopes for a great future to disappointment and discouragement
This campus needs more options for food service. There is only 1 Tim Hortons with a line up that extends into the hallways and obstructs pedestrian traffic. There is not enough seating in common areas during peak hours. The horticultural gardens are well kept by the students. Some of the buildings are in need of refurbishment. There are a few creepy men that lurk around the school, I have been approached and followed multiple times by one man in particular.
Fast service, bright building, some exceptional profs.
Broad education is available
On point to their values of care, learning and integrity. An institution helping thousands choose and persue their interests. Very progressive and comfortable environment to succeed.
Campus is great. Many of the staff couldn't care less about your success. Would not recommend my program at all, to anyone else, ever.
Not enough space for all the students. Its congested
Trash. Avoid this place. The professors don’t care about you only your money.
The most beautiful entrance to our college is the Robert Gillett Student Commons, or Commons building in short. However, this is not the main entrance to the college. The building is built for students to spend their free time or to study, with silent study halls, and Starbucks. You'll find Algonquin theatre, Student association, volunteering, print shop with 3d printing, Starbucks and many other services. In short, this is the place where u can find all the stuff going on in the college right now!
Hi, I'm only 15 and I see that there are a lot of pros and cons of going to Algonquin College. Even with these pros and cons it is teaching me of what I should be prepared for, if I do get accepted here. I've wanted to be a Child and Youth worker for over 3 years now, I know that this is where I want to go when I graduate, it's close to home but will also give me an education I need to succeed to get where I'm going. Thank You Everyone for the pros and cons of Algonquin.
Curbside pick-up at the bookstore was great!
One star because of the print shop being so so bad
Quite bad communications but the overall institution is fantastic.
Misrepresented credentials awarded. Poor oversight of individual program administration.
I was privileged to have worked with the staff of Algonquin College. They volunteered freely of their valuable time in supporting a Sir Guy Carleton student in a two week work experience placement. They were unfailingly kind and supportive of this unique program. Without them, we could not do the work we do. We are most grateful to them for their help.

Best place in Canada for academic and practical learning.
Both the security and the staff were very helpful for me to pickup U-Pass and course Books for my son.
I had a great experience here. I met great people. College was clean well equipped. Parking is available at a fair fare.
Called to inquire something. Each one is transferring calls to other departments (spoke to 5 different employees). Everyone is working from home and it’s 3pm, time for a nap, yes I can understand that ???? ???? ????. We need to make a living though
Great school, great services, great i'm commodities for the students. I've had a few professors who where rude and a few who didn't know what they where doing when it came to teaching. The college is always improving, making it hard to find any negativity for my review.
Great school with really friendly staff that care for students success. Long story short, you're not a number you're a student.
Attending this college is, by far, the most expensive way to get subscribed to a Johnson Insurance mailing list. If you're interested in having promotional insurance flyers mailed to your home once a month, especially under the guise of the college trying to remain in touch post-graduation, I recommend attending.
It's like every other outlet doesn't work
Very Empty, strange and surreal
Great school that treats students as #1.
I'm in the computer system technician course for starters. Teachers are usually diligent and want to help students, they mostly want you to learn. You'll get the few odd ones that are just bad at teaching. Most of the time you'll be challenged but not overwhelmed if you keep doing your homework/assignments right away. This school is for people who want a career right away. You can always go to university after to get a more theoretical knowledge base after graduation. The main reason I give it 4/5 is that some of the equipment is outdated for networking and college is stressful. It's not a vacation and not meant to be.
My classes and teachers were amazing. The registars office on the other hand is an absolute joke. Hung up on me SEVEN times and then told me they cannot help me with proof and when I gave them their proof they stopped communicating. AN ABSOLUTE JOKE
Very nice campus our step goes here.
I enjoyed my time as a culinary student here. Campus is large with many different buildings and confusing at first. I didn't enjoy the price of textbooks and the fact that notes were given out on power point presentations, among other things. Culinary area is great, kindof chaotic, needs better dishwashers. It's a random place but I loved it there, great people
I am lookinv forward to apply for Culinary Management program. Could I get some reviews on the program?
Nice Place Multi-nationality , very good staff Clean>> Great design Bus station beside the college I like the way of teaching too
One of the best educational institutions in the country and good teachers and a better way to learn
Something needs to be done for this college
Great profs and plenty of services. A good choice in school if your looking for higher education without breaking the bank to go to university.
If I could give zero stars I would. I took part in the Computer Systems Technician program and completely regret wasting my time and money. The administration are unhelpful and always pass the buck to avoid doing any time of work and the teachers for the most part don't care about the students. Every semester was a nightmare because the school kept making schedule errors that took me way too much time to correct. My advice to anyone considering this program or school is to run far and fast.
Really beautiful
I will be graduating at the end of this semester and I have greatly enjoyed my time here. I'm in the Business Management and Entrepreneurship program. The teachers are highly qualified and approachable, the campus is nice and clean, and I have learned lots.
Some of the college programs are rip-off programs that will not get anywhere! Consult with employment consultants OUTSIDE of the college. I know a few grads who can't find employment with their Mikki Mouse certificates/diplomas. Choose carefully, this is your money, your time, your investment! The college will promise you a golden future, so you have to do your own research! Some of the instructors are college grads, they know less than you! So you are learning from someone who is not an expert in the field, but a recent college grad! Also, the college overcharges for many services (disgusting considering that most students are on the verge of poverty!), do not let them to empty your pockets. Remember, you will have to return your student loans with big %.
Newer buildings are very nice. Lines at tim hortons can be brutal
Well maintained and clean
It's the worst college which I know. All methods based on computer system which does not work properly and nobody can help you. You just spend your time and money. How to give you knowledge it's not a problem of college just money their problems
Support and admin staff always very helpful and friendly. Campus is pretty clean as well, with great little spots like a duck pond and ice rink.
New building been constructed. Very empty hope we all get back to normal life.
Excellent college with amazing staff willing to help.
Best college
Great learning experience!
Awesome place to study and hangout with friends!
Love it such u beautiful place
Who schedules an exam on a saturday and then has its food services closed? Algonquin does
Parked there for about ten minutes, got a parking ticket that said it was a warning, a month later paper gets mailed to me saying that i have to pay 95$. #cheatercargang
Depressing and ghetto. White trash stoners and médiocres who will work at Loblaws for 30 years. Glad I switched to university
This college sets the standards for student involvement and help, the community is wonderful, lots of helpful and understanding staff. The instructors, mostly, have great life experience. Many activities and clubs to chose from.
I have applied to this college its the best college for IT
It is sad for me to say that during these covid times the workers at this college have been stressing everyone out especially the security guards. I recently got my 2nd vaccine two weeks ago exactly and I've gone to the campus in the past two weeks and I've been getting invalid information and it doesn't seem like the security guards are doing their job correctly because last week Monday morning I went on campus and I was allowed in since I'm fully vaccinated, but when I went in the afternoon I was told I wasn't allowed in which doesn't make sense at all. Also, this morning I went to the ARC centre and I was turned back yet again and was told I can be on campus starting Thursday. This really annoyed me because I paid for parking and everything only to be turned back which doesn't make sense to me. I personally think all the security guards need to be on the same page and stop telling students that they can be on campus and then tell us we can't.
Sometimes I think I want to kill myself, and then I remember I'm still at school and that would be rude.
Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology is a publicly funded English-language college located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The college serves the National Capital Region and the outlying areas of Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, and Upstate New York. The college has three campuses, all in Ontario: a primary campus located in Ottawa, and secondary campuses located in Perth and Pembroke. The college offers bachelor's degrees, diplomas, and certificates in a range of disciplines and specialties. It has been ranked among the Top 50 Research Colleges in Canada and has been recognized as one of Canada's top innovation leaders. The enabling legislation is the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Act. It is a member of Polytechnics Canada. The college was established during the formation of Ontario's college system in 1967. Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology were established on May 21, 1965, when the Ontario system of public colleges was created. The founding institutions were the Eastern Ontario Institute of Technology (established in 1957) and the Ontario Vocational Centre Ottawa (established in 1965 at the Woodroffe Campus and known as OVC). The original 8 acres site on Woodroffe Avenue was donated to the city by Mr and Mrs Frank Ryan. The Ottawa architecture firm of Burgess, McLean & MacPhadyen designed the midcentury academic complex with open-ended blocks alternatively faced with long glass expanses in a semi-gambrel formation that make up the curtain walls and precast aggregate panels. The corporate campus or modernist academic acropolis spread across North America in the early 1960s. The entrance is via a deeply recessed terrace that's overhung with small white ceramic tiles and vintage can lights. The long walls are bumped out to float over the foundation. The foundation plantings keep the blocks from appearing stark. The first Principal of the Ontario Vocational Centre (OVC) was Kenneth G. Shoultz. Principal Shoultz took on the leadership of OVC in 1965 after working as a technical studies teacher and then as an inspector for the Ontario Department of Education. K.G. Shoultz continued on as the first Dean of the Technical Centre after OVC was amalgamated with Algonquin College in 1967. Algonquin College is named after the Algonquin First Nations Peoples who were the original inhabitants of the area. In 1964, the Rideau Campus was established. "Satellite" campuses in Pembroke, Hawkesbury, Perth, Carleton Place and Renfrew were established in the late 1960s. The Vanier School of Nursing became a part of the Woodroffe Campus when nursing programs began to be offered at the college. In 1973, the School of Prescott-Russell joined the Algonquin family and the Colonel By Campus was created through the acquisition of St. Patrick's College. With the creation of La Cité Collégiale, 1990 marked the beginning of Algonquin as an English college. The Hawkesbury campus was transferred to La Cité Collégiale, and the Renfrew, Colonel By, and Carleton Place campuses were progressively closed. The latest closure was in August 2002, when the Rideau Campus closed and its programs were moved to the Advanced Technology Centre on the Woodroffe Campus. Expanding its academic purview, the college offers a variety of degree programs taught by expert faculty with a wide range of academic and technical experience. This includes Bachelor of Interior Design (Honours), Bachelor of Public Safety (Honours), Bachelor of Early Learning and Community Development (Honours), Bachelor of Commerce (E-Supply Chain Management), and several others. Algonquin's focus is on the arts and technology and promotes a strong focus on applied theory and practical experience. There are over 19,000 full-time students in more than 180 programs. There are 155 Ontario college programs, 18 apprenticeship programs, 16 co-op programs, 6 collaborative degree programs and 6 bachelor's degree programs. Some of these degrees are through direct collaborative partnerships with Carleton University and University of Ottawa.
If your looking for a college to enroll in you should definitely consider taking a guided tour at Algonquin. If you go alone there is a very high chance you will get lost in this huge modern maze.
They need to hire up to date teachers lol
Algonquin college facilities are always well maintained and organized. The students are always super helpful and polite when visiting. Whenever we rent the Minto Centre facilities for events, all supplies and furnitures are in place and ready for use allowing for speedy set-up and take down. Would highly recommend booking such a well maintained and managed facility for events.
I don't recommend this college. The college is highly conniving. Save your money, learn else ware!
Food available at Savoir Faire is so good and affordable.
Absolutely awful and annoying front desk staff and housekeeping staff. On the first night when I decided to extend for a second night, both of their employees, the one in charge of reservations and the one in charge of checking in told me that my card has been charged for the second night and everything is alright. The next morning at check out time, another employee began telling us that our credit card wasn't charged and they needed to do another payment in order to pay for the second night, processing three payments through my credit card and double charging me for the second night.
I booked 1hour of treatment and only recieved 30 minutes of message time. The rest of the time they spent talking to me and leading up to the message, which I thought wouldn't count as a part of the hour. I payed for an hour and should have received an hour of messaging. Not to mention, the masseuse did not take well to instructions and I left extremely unsatisfied.
Great college especially the Hospitality department. The baking and pastry art management program is tailored to equip anyone who wants to learn baking and pastry arts.
Trash. Avoid this place. The professors don’t care about you only your money.
I love this school! Great amenities, great teachers and everyone is so nice to one another.
Courses are good but I had a professor that didn't actually do anything we kept getting a substitute professor but they never dealt with the original professor
A really beautiful spot to hang out. Nice view and open atmosphere with comfy seating. Starbucks is located in the same building as is the theater. Links to the Algonquin connection shop and the Marketplace food court.
It is impossible to communicate with collage. I wrote email to other collages they already answered. But this collage 8 days no news. Strange.
Great learning place
Pretty good school. If you need to talk to the Registrars Office during you're lunch break, best to call them during your breakfast break and you might get lucky:)
very good
The good place for study.
Very nice campus. I go to school here and I can say it's really nice to go to study o hang out. Also one of the better campus stores I've seen so far
A little dull but the college is exciting
I like algonquin college because its fun and its really enjoyable i learn so many things there and i get to meet new people there and see new faces
Unless your in the trades Avoid!!. Most of the faculty are part timers that are barely getting by. I learned more in 1 year taking Computer Science at the University level then my three years at Algonquin and that doesn't include coops/internships. Skip Algonquin and go get an Engineering degree at the university level this school is a money pit for the students and the province.
I work here. We are endeavouring to maintain safety while providing learning opportunities on-line and allowing practical skills training on site.
Not worth your money better off spend it on bmw and strippers
The personal support worker program is very good at Algonquin College. I do find that they gave me the skills to do my job and purse into my BScN. Even with COVID-19, my program coordinator still made sure that we graduated on time. Highly recommend.
I’m currently enrolled in the Executive Office Administration program and loving it so far! I love that Algonquin offers full time & part time programs online so you can have more flexibility in your schedule to complete your studies from the comfort of your own home if you don’t want to go on campus. This has made getting a post secondary education so much easier for me being a mother of three young children.
I am finishing my last year in the Business Admin course at Algonquin College. My goal coming into this course was to hopefully gain some knowledge to help take over a business. I was completely wrong. The schools management has no idea what is going on. Online classes and on campus classes are a roll of a dice if they will be cancelled or not. When it comes time to pick your classes, it is an absolute battle to get anything worth while learning. Overall, if you are coming into this school to help your business or want to start a business one day, please stay away. You can take private online courses for much less money and gain a lot more knowledge.
Misrepresented credentials awarded. Poor oversight of individual program administration.
Well organised
I love it
A really great place to work. So happy to be on campus such a dynamic place
Outdated and irrelevant information for home inspectors, they proceeded to argue and fight back with me. Saying they are correct, I provided photos of proof they were wrong with my 16 years experience. Don't go there unless you'd prefer to downgrade your knowledge and pay for it? We are in the middle of a lawsuit right now.
Hello I don't want to write this review over here but I don't have any choice anymore. I called to college regarding admission query for international student. They always transfer my call to international admission office and no one answer the call over there. This is not first time even I called in first week of December. Please let me know whom I will contact regarding my admission query so that I can get answer. Thanks
I am not a Loser tell that to your administration.
This place is focused on making money period . .. lack of student centered education and poor quality teaching approaches are evident . Think twice before wasting 4 years of you life for nothing
Absolutely stunning exquisite experience with my time here at the college. All i have to say is Thank you Algonquin College
PATHETIC HIRING HELP BY PHIL IN PEMBROKE. TOO MUCH PAY FOR LESS THAN NET ZERO
Great school
Restaurant International was excellent from the service to an amazing meal
Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else, especially if you are an international student. There are extra charges for everything and some courses are just a joke with professors really without any knowledge and motivation to help students. You as a student can raise your concerns through some avenues but your grievances will end being transferred from one department to other and nothing will ever improve. BE VERY CAREFUL if you are choosing this college over others. You might regret it everyday while you are here
Very poor registrar's office. I applied to Electrical Engineering Technician and they emailed back saying I needed to submit a signed form. I signed the form and emailed it back within a week later. Within a few weeks after that they said that I was accepted into that program. That was a few weeks ago. Now today I get another email saying that I am on the waiting list for both programs I applied for.
The school will rob you blind with their hidden fees. Cafeteria is over priced for what you get. Some teachers are really nice and are willing to go the extra mile to help you succeed.
Do yourself a favor, do not sign up for any courses through Algonquin College, they take payment immediately but when you want your on line course information. They cannot seem to produce it and have many issues issuing you the required information. Plus if you want to cancel they charge you $25 for something that was their error. Very unfair and staff very, very rude.
I felt at home after reading your program, success and financial packeges for students to enable them achieve their aim obtaining knowledge.Even though I am working to become a student.
one of the worst experiences EVER HERE ... first of all , registered here for a 3 year course, halfway through the first semester the 3rd year was dropped ... the program was horribly coordinated and half the classes were did not teach anything... we were told that we would have to TEACH OURSELVES IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL ... the program was great but the school ruined it and the experience and the students were lied to and at the end of the day we were told that nothing can be done ... so I had to go to carleton to pursue the degree and knowledge I wanted .
The staff at the connections and cafeteria was very rude and the staff at the cafeteria rudely ask me to pay fast while I was looking for coins in my purse. !!! The connections staff was not helpful at all.disappointing !
Classes are easy. Teachers are nice and some actually seem to care, which is a rare thing in post secondary schools. Ya, its a tad bit expense but aren't all colleges and universities? The only gripe I have is the parking pass, now thats the only thing that is too high on my book, even Ottawa University has cheaper rates, plus they at least have off road parking near the area.
The new lodge and Indigenous Cuisine Programs are world class taught by world class experienced instructors.
I see bad and good comments now I am somehow confused hahah... But i think it's a good one. Actually i want to apply to this college because its one of the colleges in Canada that offer the program of my choice (Bachelor of Hospitality and tourism management) let say I am researching for a good university or college. Hope i will gain good experiences from this college as well as skills and knowledge I am searching for, which will lead to a best carrier pursuit.
Individual classes can be fine but full on programs are unfocused/bloated and odds are your teacher will be just as new in the field as you are.
I went here 16 years ago and had all sorts of fun fighting their inane systems for ordering books or registering for courses. My wife has signed up for a short program and trying to get her setup is bringing back all of the memories. In 16 god damn years Algonquin hasn't changed/improved any of their systems. Well you know what they say, those can't do, teach.
Great programs options
Very nice campus. I go to school here and I can say it's really nice to go to study o hang out. Also one of the better campus stores I've seen so far
I like it on the basis what my daughter told me about the college campus and its safety angle.
It is the world best college.
Great campus, even better professors!
Expected tea, was disappointed when it turned to just have classrooms. They should consider changing the name to something less misleading.
You'll see student's who underperform, skip class, who are generally unfriendly; graduate with the same credentials due to the professors being laxer with them. It kind of makes you feel like the work you've put in will be considered equal to one who barely even tried. Saturation.
Where do I even begin? Truly a shitshow in a dumpster fire. I'm not proud to say I went here and the memories haunt me. If you're …
School does have a lot of useless filler classes. Keep in mind that many colleges in Canada are for profit and are being run like a business to maximize their profits
Worst choice I ever made in my life was to attend this school. I attended the Fitness and Health Promotion program. I was bullied and fat shamed on a daily basses by students and STAFF!
It was very quiet and no line ups
Huge waste of time and money. Their only interest is in taking as much money from you as possible.
I loved this place i studied in it for 5 years and get my good
It was once the greatest schools but as usual unions that speak on behalf of MANY individuals, they messed everything up. This strike has changed my perspective of the school and its "supportive" union. They held this strike this whole time, and there was no conclusion reached, which means, all the time spent striking, was wasted because the EXTORTIONIST known Kathleen wynne or w.e decided to do her "job", which has only further proved her lack of qualification and basic understanding of her "career". So thank you teachers for being so great, and a big fat F YOU to your union. I hope the next vote that occurs will be to vote OUT the moron that is currently occupying a position as an MP. Kathleen Wynne you are truly good for nothing, and i think Ontario will be a blessed place without you and your lies and I don't wish your presence on my worst enemy.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! The actual school is satisfactory at best. Have never gotten much out of my classes. SECURITY is a HUGE problem here. They get whatever loser they can find off the street that has an attitude and extremly aggresive wich makes it hard to feel safe. BE CAREFUL you cannot eat lunch in your vehicle they may approach you accuse you of something you didnt do follow you off the campus and call the cops. I had 5 squad cars waiting at my house because the security guard said I was under the influence. Funny thing is after everything I was not charged with anything. Will never attend this college again!
Great place to learn. Went through two programs here. They really strive to update and continue making the education received valuable and current.
Difficult to navigate around
