Okay, my new-to-Kingstoness is showing, I didn't even know this place existed until I was invited to have dinner here today. Great spot. If you're not familiar with the Grad Club don't let the name throw you off, regular folk who are not part of the University or alumni can still come and eat here. Really great environment, casual, relaxed. Great mix of students and older folks, ahem... like me. Staff is super friendly, food was great, really nothing bad to say about the place at all. It's winter but I see the summer photos have some umbrellas outside wonderful spot. Fronts on Barrie and just around the corner from St. James Anglican Church on Union, which is also a great spot. If you're looking for something a little ways out of the downtown core, closer to Queens KGH etc for quick casual relaxed eating, this is an awesome spot. Check out their web site for events ( seems like trivia night was happening tonight) and there was some posters up for live music. I'll be back for sure.

This is Queen's university graduate club. The workers are very friendly and they serve delicious meals. My favorite is their chicken wings. You can also book spaces there for event.

Extremely casual. This is not a place to impress anyone but more for casual, quick get-togethers at the university. A bit cold, one room is quite dark.

This is a cool place to have a drink with friends. Slightly older crowd, not many undergrad students, and the vibe reflects that. It's more of a drink and chat with friends kind of place. They have a few different craft brews on tap, and the food is pretty good as well.

I love the grad club. Good place to meet up have a beer together or cup of coffee for a casual meeting. It's accessible had a ramp up to the big step. A bit of tricky manicuring gets you in and the ground floor washroom is accessible. The bars by the toilet need upgrade. No elevator to second floor events. So if you are organizing something remember to make it accessible and have your functions on the main floor. And let everyone know your thinking about access.

As a graduate student, the grad club is one of my favourite places to be on campus since the has a very home-y feel. Amazing drinks with a great selection of craft beers on top. They have an awesome daily drink special "grad hour" for cheap drinks 4-8pm. Daily food specials are always awesome. Perfect place to do work and grab lunch during the day, and to hang out with friends in the evening. 10/10 would recommend.

It's the Grad Club. A Queen's institution. Quality foods with a decent vegetarian spread. Black bean and sweet potato burger is quite good and Among the better ones in Kingston. Rotating taps always feature quality ales too! A must visit!

I was so excited to find out there is a 10% discount for graduate students! I had the G Club sandwich, 1904 cider, and fries, which really hit the spot to celebrate the last day of class. The 1904 cider was like biting into a fresh apple - so tasty! They also have lots of events there you can check out.

UPDATE: Their new french fries are unreal. I know a lot of people complain about wanting the old style fries but they are always a hit and miss. I go here for the fries now - they are just that good. Classic pub fare. Good for a lunch meal and a lunch beer. Always a nice selection of taps.

A friend and I were passing through Kingston and were checking out bars to visit for the night. We heard from a friend that The Grad Club was a solid spot with good food and had a concert that night, so we decided to walk the 20 minutes from our hotel downtown to the venue. However, when we tried to get into the bar we were told by the employee at the door that they were not accepting any more people for the night. Since the bar wasn't near capacity we figured it must be because we had to pay $10 to see the bands, but the employee did not even accept this. He simply told us to leave and gave absolutely no reason as to why. We had not begun drinking yet either so that couldn't have factored into his decision. I cannot fathom how a bar turns people away at 11 at night, and this is the first time I've ever seen this. It certainly put a damper on our night and I would caution people from visiting this location, as I've heard their staff have a tendency to do this when they want to go home early.

Great venue! Super star communication and accommodations towards accessibility. Ramp is a bit older, and not super wide so motorized chairs might struggle, most manual wheel chair should be fine! Accessible bathroom and great staff!

Nice cozy hangout on Queen's campus. The building was formerly a large residence so it is multi-story and unique. Comfy sofas throughout. Good beer at a decent cost. Trivia on Thursday evenings is always fun.

Solid food, and a discount for grad students. Be aware that the "late-night menu" starts at 2pm. The "Horn of Plenty" (I think it was called) is a great thing to order for 3-4 people at night.
