As you can read, it reaches an opinions average is quite good, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may think that the assessment is quite accurate. If people have bothered to evaluate when they are pleased, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to place tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...

Amazing place, amazing people
Nice & fresh env't
Wow, awesome. I love this school.
Just straight up disappointing.
Covid test woo hoo
good
Worst University I've. Gone to YET in Canada. TRADES DEPARTMENT PAUL is an idiot. He can't run a program let alone a profitable business. Teachers are over booked. Students are wasting more time then learning. 1st year my teacher quit 1/2 through the year because of the politics. MONEY GRAB SCHOOL!!!! INTRAPMENT SYSTEM.
I studied ESL school about 20years ago. That was amazing experience. I made some friends and make some memorise.
Exceptional community asset.

Good place to catch rabbits..
It has dollarama, subway, 7-11, & value village
Vancouver Island University is exzellent, yes: and the cooporation with StadtCOLOUR?
Never had a bad professor . Always very reasonable in expectations and seemed to truly care about students.
Cold. End of term. Few students.
Vancouver Island University (abbreviated as VIU, formerly known as Malaspina University-College and before that as Malaspina College) is a Canadian public university serving Vancouver Island and coastal British Columbia. Starting as Malaspina College in 1969, it has grown into a university that plays an important role in the educational, cultural, and economic life of the region.[3] The main campus is located in Nanaimo, and there are regional campuses in Duncan and Powell River, as well as a centre in Parksville.
Scam university. Questionable practices, methodologies, and teaching staff. They will happily take your money but give you a poor "education." Horribly cramped, small, dirty classrooms that are always cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Could be likened to Trump University. Buyer beware.

best university! small class sizes, great profs & great lectures!
Quite a climb but a very nice university none the less
Amazing place to study! Everyone, professors and students, are so helpful!
The faculty in the Graphic Design program are amazing. Staff around campus are friendly and helpful.
My bike was stolen from campus this past summer. They cut the chain in the bike lock up area in broad daylight. Security said they can't do anything because they have no cameras on campus. Disappointing that VIU won't do more to protect their students.
Need to know how's the environment for international students. And about the course of interior design
Culinary school was pretty great. My class size was considerably smaller than most, which really helped. The chef instructors are second to none, the things they know and stories they share are memories that will last a lifetime. The skills, knowledge and credentials I obtained will help me succeed in life and in my career. The coop work placement was an opportunity to really shine.
Great place to learn!
Guys i am looking forward for post degree diploma in international business management from VIU ? What are your reviews on this? Thanks
Great university!
Beautiful campus, and I like the staff, but the parking situation is HORRENDOUS!
Would not recommend
Great university. I want to study here For MBA
my teacher is very beautiful and i got to be partners with Kaite and Jack thank god :) they're my friends :)
Small class sizes, excellent teachers, beautiful views and lots of study space make this smaller university on Vancouver Island shine. I have really enjoyed my time at this university. Although I have had a couple professors that have not been very good, they are vastly outweighed by many outstanding others who really do a great job. The people at the university are friendly, and you don't have to endure a freezing winter as is the case in most other universities across Canada. Blossoms typically start coming out in February! On sunny days, you can see all the mountains north of Vancouver on the mainland, BC Ferries travelling between the island and mainland, and so much more. There is also lots to do in the surrounding area.
I was attending campus for a weekend lecture and was accosted by a very rude male security guard. He was very snarly and made me feel a bit scared- it was later evening and I was alone, I was just trying to locate the parking lot where I had parked...campus seems like a bit of a maze. Need to be a bit more professional.
My overall band is 6:5 but in writing 5:5 so I am eligible for this University or not
This an incredible place. Daughter on soccer tour. Great Staff
nice place

Best people you will ever work with.

It would be great if the links to research labs in the psych department actually worked (only 1 out of 8 works!). Please pass this onto the head of the department. It is important to let people know what is going on there! Cheers
Great university that is still affordable.
Great help from student services
Beautiful grounds and friendly faces
Amazing school! I've been very happy here.
Scam University.
Short sighted monetary interest during Covid19. VIU makes no effort to curb student fees during the Pandemic of 2020. Do students want debt for social services billed but not provided. Fees of every imagination charged to international students and online students that are not possibly accessible to the student. It’s Covid, we are isolating, and VIU still charge students, disguising them in services. I paid 400 for my registration which is normally 200 because someone insisted, I be registered in two programs if I wanted to take a special interest class that was not part of my program. Then due to an community emergency directly related to covid, I could not be in school for the spring semester and VIU is charging. I took part in one get to know you class via zoom and had to drop. If not for a work emergency, I’d not cancel. I could not get in touch with staff or teacher at VIU online, through email or by phone. What option was there. I expected registrar to understand the situation. But NO. I understand VIU wants to turn a profit, but during unprecedented times, under circumstances for which students are not possibly in control, despite emergencies, and calls to action, the registrar is sending me a fee for this semester which I am not enrolled that also includes service fees for student life, which they cannot possibly provide. I was forced to drop the class as my work responsibilities included a community mental health emergency that lasted 7 days and started 4 days after the class began. How can this be predicted; it's never happened before? I couldn't get through to talk to anyone, neither the school or the teacher. I took one zoom meeting and my work situation rotated 360d. I think it's unreasonable to charge fees, despite the emergencies. I am not swimming in money and if VIU wants it, with the amount of money our Canadian Government has thrown to people to encourage them to isolate, although I have not researched it, I am sure schools are being subsidised in excess of what has happened as well. But VIU squeeze students, nonetheless. This is unpalatable. This school is not transparent. I my case, it showed online that I owed for registration fees approximately $650 and an additional 10% late fee. Including an activity fee and union fees that were scrambled if not halted and on top of that --I am an online student. I do not use their activity fee; what services are they thinking about? I still cannot get someone on the phone. I don't even use their library. Problem one: the lack of transparency of the only portal does not provide you with any explanation as to how this fee is calculated. You must contact the registrar for clarification. Its time consuming and questionable. Problem two: Covid forced people to isolate. Students life was dramatically impacted and the education in many cases failed. This is to be expected. Some students were forced to leave the country and leave the school premises. VIU employees were laid off or forced to work in isolation. Businesses stopped; businesses went bankrupt, people could not even get to a doctor and the death toll increased dramatically impacting people in hundreds of ways. Mental health is a serious consideration in this state of being. These influences caused emergencies. I contacted VIU and had a very unwelcome response that the fees that were automatically applied to my account were not being reversed. If I continued to take classes at VIU I would be spending nearly 10,000 dollars in the next year. But instead of considering my singular student position, they risk this loss. I have my career and have been taking a series of classes online out of personal interest. I feel deeply sorry for students who are starting out in their educational pursuits. It is downright dirty how their system treats students and charge students, many of whom are going into debt for their education. VIU is unsympathetic of the Covid crisis students may befall and inconsiderate of student conditions. VIU should be supporting students better during this time.
Do you wish you had more muscular legs? Do you want to improve your cardio? Well VIU is for you! Here they have stairs! And more stairs! And even MORE stairs! There are stairs as far as the eye can see! After a semester of going here you'll …
Big university library with lots of seating
ONE OF THE MOST RACIST PROFESSOR EVER SEEN ESPECIALLY TOWARDS INDIANS HE HAS SOME PERSONAL GRUDGES BECAUSE OF WHICH HE GIVE THEM NOT MORE THAN F IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR WORK COLD HEARTED CREATURE FILLED WITH HATRED. HE IS A MORON WITH A DISGUISED FACED NAMED MICHAEL MACCOL. PERSONAL ADVICE TO ALL ASIAN BEFORE TAKING PROGRAM HERE ASK THEM FOR THIS PROFESSOR AS HE WILL BE THE CAUSE BECAUSE OF WHOM YOU WILL BE PAYING DOUBLE FEES AS HE FAILS EVERY ASIAN STUDENTS ESPECIALLY INDIANS.....
hello guys, can you tell something about studying in this university for international students?
Make sure you know exactly where on campus you are going. Can be a bit confusing to find the right parking lot/building
TLDR: Parking is terrible, scheduling is terrible, teachers are good, classes are small. Tuition is cheap. It’s on a big hill. …
Good college.
Pro: It's a small university with smaller class sizes, more 1 on 1 with teachers. Con: HOWEVER...when searching for the program that you are looking for, I highly recommend you consider the faculty/teaching staff credentials and backgrounds. The program I took lacked teaching staff credentials/backgrounds and most classes were a joke/horribly taught/never learned anything (I'm not the only one that felt this way). I completed a degree at VIU, which did not get me anywhere. It was my fault for not completely understanding the program and expanding my horizons through other universities and realizing that there were better programs out there! I was young and didn't know what I was doing, so plan your route! If you aren't sure, get help from someone that has been through university (without a bias opinion)! I mainly went to this university because it was close to home. I wish I went to a bigger university to get that university feel and could have had a more enjoyable experience! uVic seems pretty cool! or UBC! There's only a few programs that I have heard that can excel at this university. For the most part, I would recommend doing your 'research' and make sure this university is the right one for you, or you will be wasting your time, money and more importantly, experience. Explore your options, really know what you are getting yourself into and ask other people that have gone through the program/uni experience. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this university.
Best school for business education due to a small class size. I liked my time at VIU with many great professors. I learned a lot of business concepts that currently help my tutoring business.

Considering how difficult it is for young people to live and thrive in B.C., you would think the attitude towards students would be different. My instructor refused to help me when I needed help the most. At that point, I thought what am I even paying for? I expected hands on help with my schooling but was told repeatedly to use google instead. It would have been nice to see more effort from my instructors especially during a worldwide pandemic. Now I have a loan on my shoulders that I can't even afford to pay. My advice is pick a different school that actually wants to help their students succeed instead of watching them drown.
Is good
Sir recently 23rd March 2019 I got overall 6 band in listening 7, Reading 6.5 and 5.5 in rest of modules speaking and writing Please tell me I can take admission in post graduate course because I studied in bachelor's of Commerce last year.
Excellent learning atmosphere, with stunning west coast views!
I graduated from VIU in 2011 with my dual MBA/MScIB degree. It was an amazing program that was very intense. It opened great doors of opportunity and I would recommend the program, university, Nanaimo and the island to anyone who is even considering going for his MBA.
I go there for my course ❤️❤️ Loving it ❤️
Great school, my only complaint is the distance between certain buildings and the amount of stairs. Hard for older students to get around or those with movement disabilities or injuries. Other than that, great campus, friendly students, helpful staff :)
Beautiful campus we've visited it a few times as a family to see our daughter. The faculty are friendly and the ammenities are great, no complaints here.
It is a wonderful place that has lots of opportunities to offer. The community is supportive and warm!
Sadly I did not go to this university when I was younger but the building itself is beautiful and it’s wonderful that anyone can access the library
I used to study there when it was still called Malaspina University College. I remembered it has some really friendly people, although some professor’s ability to teach and knowledge base is pretty low. Cafeteria has pretty good view to the ocean as the university is up on a hill. Overall I enjoyed my time while studying there.
Nice campus but you have to have a little luck passing the councilors ,I tried to attend but the guy behind the desk was keen on pressing all the wrong buttons!
My Son study in icm Winnipeg first year BBA Degree course. 2year tranfer eligible viu compus same course.
I DON'T ADVISE ANYONE TO APPLY IN THIS UNIVERSITY SPECIAL THE INTERNATIONAL THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED ABOUT MONEY . THEY DON'T RESPECT TIME AND THEIR POLICY ,IT IS FLEXIBLE DEPPEND WHAT THEY NEED DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY
Went from first class to fail. Professor let's his wife make desicions then the dean back it. All I did was try my best. The place sucks.
My overall band is 6:5 but in writing 5:5 so I am eligible for this University or not
Am a Ghanaian looking forward to enroll with VIU...I'm just in love with the school
awesome facility and staff! always feel welcomed and encouraged to do my best in my programs!
Community college vibe with great profs
No parking what a joke
Very accessible and easier to find information. Thanks for the good job
Haven on the earth
I did not attend school Fall 2020 semester during Covid and they are trying to charge fees for it any way.
I went to VIU when it was still called Malaspina UC! A lot of precious memories. is the gentleman still selling hot dogs outside of the library?
Suiting that the campus is as much of a maze as their website, it's almost impossible to find anything you need; even the staff are just as cryptic. I've had a few classmates that didn't even know how or where to get their student ID's!
