False advertising. Moved in Fall 2019. Promises broken - Laundry room took 2.5 months after move-in to open up. "central building" as mentioned on the website, has still not opened and it has been 3 months. It's no wonder they take the full years payment in advance. It's obvious how much they care about students, so do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Best place to live while attending university . since being bought out by TRU this place is getting better and better and also the staff is very kind and what not. Good place to be

Hey ItsCorina

Home away from home is the realest phrase for UCH. Cozy apartments, good rent, amazing staff and RA’s. I dont want to live in another place, everyone its so amazing. We are just a big family, join us!

Sharon Fereira

Excellent for international students!!!!

Nowshin Tasnim

New ladies, Corrine and Tammy were so nice and welcoming. Made the transition very smooth. I like the place even better, best for students. TCC and TRU right across the street.

Upper College Heights is by far the worst landlord. Not only did they make you sign a lease that illegally attempts to prohibit such activities as "lighting candles", but on more than one occasion they illegally entered our unit without notice. Upon leaving UCH, they attempted to demand over $2100.00 in repairs and late rent. We decided to take them to the Residential Tenancy Board and were successful in dismissing these charges. Their demands for repairs for the units and cleaning are nothing short of outrageous, outlandish and unfounded. I strongly urge anyone thinking of renting from these guys to look else where. They will try and take advantage of you. For those who have rented, take them to the RTB, they should not be in the business of renting.

I chose East Village before coming for the benefits on-campus housing provides. EV has a great community and a positive social environment! Since the Central Res has opened, it's been getting better and better. I can confidently say most of my friendships after coming to Canada have been made in EV!

Darn good place to live if you're looking for an awesome student community and place to find new friends. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the newly renovated bedrooms and suites are nice. A good reccomendation for those looking for student housing!

Worst Services for international students a big NO to choose East Village to move in, they do false promises .

If you are friends with the RA you can party and play loud music every night otherwise you get a warning for even talking loudly in your suite.

I lived in UCH for almost a year from 2014-2015. It is one of the most convenient locations for students in TRU. It's affordable and nice. The old management was not that good.. but my friend lived there recently.. and he says it's one of the coolest place to stay now as the new management doesn't just welcome you and makes living abroad easy but also organizes some fun networking events so that students don't miss home.. I would totally recommend this to new students and family..

Safwat Musthafa

Thoroughly enjoy staying here. The staff are incredibly kind and it really feels like living in a community here. TRU and Superstore are just a skip away and all the events UCH provide really make you feel like you are at home. Join the UCH Squad!

Both Tammy and Corinne were excellent. Love the service. Highly recommended

Close proximity to University, TCC and Shopping. Pretty stern laws and almost every other thing you do results in a fine.

Worst experience ever.

One of the best location to live in kamloops and less costly, just 2mins walk to the University and grocery stores and right next to the Bus stop ( number 7 and 9). The new management is really good specially the manager Tammy and Yash. Best for the students of TRU.

I will first take the chance to say Im just a normal resident with a wife and two kids. We are quiet folks. Don’t drink, don’t smoke or anything. I have to warn you about this place! DONT live here, it will save you money in the END. The landlords here are absolutely unfair and unreasonable. We lived there for a couple years. When you move in they do an inspection of your apartment and then leave you with the paper to mark other flaws in the apartment. You'd better hope you wrote down every hole on the wall. Count them. Baseboards, missing blind clips, every cotton picken thing possible as large as a door to as small as a little clip for the blind. If you dont have it written down, when they do your exit inspection they will nail you with unreasonable fees. Your answer then, "It was there when we got here" Their answer "That is what we always hear" You have no choice. They will nail you in the end for carpet cleaning, floor waxing and cleaning. Even if you did it already! I forwarn you about this place. This is not only me. My friend when through the same experience. We are a quiet family that ended up losing our damage deposit AND 468 dollars MORE over and above the damage deposit just for things we couldnt see on the day we moved in. Mainly because one wouldn't expect them to be that strict. The last day you find out and your at a loss because everything is on paper already! DONT LIVE HERE. We were told one thing and things that were said ended up not happening in the end because they take out the papers and say “We just go by whats on the papers” They don’t tell you to stick to the contract when you are asking for things to be repaired. We were told by the mechanic many times that things would be repaired and that there was no need to write work orders because he’d make sure it gets doen. Then in the end things don’t get done and they ding you for it. Saying “He said he’d do it” he then says “I never said that” Highway robbery in simplest terms. I say this onc again. I am not writing this review because I am stuck with a bill from them and I am angry. Honest. I'm not trying to get back at them for writing me a bill. It's how they dealt with things in the end. It's about things like on the first day. They count the holes in the walls in the end to see if it adds up with what was previous there. They didn't say count the holes. I just wrote "Holes in the walls" Then at the end they said "But you didn't count" The paper says there are 30 the east wall. Now the west wall has 10 more. Problem I have is how do they know they missed some?

Upper college Heights is truly a home away from home and it is the perfect starting point for international students to start their university journey in a foreign country. The rent structure is also designed in a way that is easy for the students. Highly recommend this place for international students who are coming to TRU to experience a truly multicultural experience and make their stay comfortable.

TRU East Village is just getting better and better! With the renovations and close proximity to school I couldn't choose any other place to live.

Absolutely loving the new staff! I plan on living here for the next 4 years and know it will be smooth style of living with them as landlords. Keep up the great work, smiling faces and positive attitude Tammy and Corinne!

Noah Ratushny

I don’t m is if this was with every room. But our room must have been missing a filter on the air duct because every week or so you would accumulate a noticeable layer of fluff and dust on every surface in the suite.

With the new staffing changes UCH is the place to be! It is cheaper than old res but with more space. Tammy is a sweetheart and does her best to help out! Corrine is a very friendly person who is willing to help you when needed. Overall both of these lovely ladies do their best to build a solid community. UCH offers events and dinner through out the year, not to mention free coffee on Monday nights! They are also going to be starting up an RA program, to increase the community feel. Overall, with these new changes UCH is a great place to live and I will definitely be back next year!

Good residence. Peaceful and good scenic view

Kudos to Tammy, Yash and Corrine, and ofcourse the amazing Resident Advisors to make UCH such a beautiful place to live in!! I would highly recommend international students to join the ever-friendly UCH community and be home away from home :) Very nearby to TRU, superstore and bustop. Affordable rent. I love their Monday Coffee Nights :) Welcome to UCH folks!!

This place is the most convenient location to live in Kamloops, everything is accessible which is paired with an amazing new management. Yash and Tammy are the best property managers I have encountered! All those people who left it coz of the old management, give it one more shot with these guys and you won't regret! Would definitely recommend

I currently live in East Village in the Two-bedroom apartment. As an international student I was a little worried to find any accommodation super close to the university that would feel like home, but East Village prevailed. I am glad to have chosen East Village from the number of dorms TRU Housing offers.

Both Tammy and Corrine are super nice and also very lenient with the inspection. So much better than the last crew. Very friendly too.

I paid for Fall 2018 and Winter 2019 together, in the month of August 2018 to the old management. The new management (TRU) took over around that time. I had to move out due to personal reasons in December (the 11th), before the winter semester began. I was told refund takes 6 to 8 weeks. I waited 8 weeks, since there was no news of it, I started following up and in the 11th week, I receive a cheque for $250 (the security deposit), the rest of the amount, they have no record of. They said they will be trying to trace it and get back to me. Its been a week and the "concerned person" won't get back to me or return my calls. I am in a dilemma how to go about this. I am a student and the amount is huge and important to me. I did not expect such irresponsible behavior on their part. Updating review on the 16th of April, 2019: It's been 4 months and I still haven't received my money. Really?? 4 months delay and you talk as if it's just normal? Final update: I received the money on the 23rd of April, after 4 long months. Thanks for the trouble.
