I just finished my last day at Sprott Shaw Victoria and now graduated from the Health Care Assistant Program. I enjoyed my time here and look forward to the next part of my journey. I found the staff to be friendly and professional. I would recommend Sprott Shaw Victoria to anyone in fact I have already my son and daughter are part of the Sprott Shaw Victoria family.

The 10 months about special education and two great practicums at elementary and high school at the school district 61, where I was hired right away while I am doing my practicum. It's excellent college, a great program, the instructor was amazing. Jen was my instructor, and a great staff!! I would recommend Sprott Shaw for everyone looking for the right environment and a good experience.

If I could rate this 0 stars, I would. These people and this school don't care about their students. All they care about is money. They charge out the ass and they can't even regularly clean their bathrooms. All they care about is getting people enrolled and getting their money, so there are many genuinelu incompetent people at this school, and people who caneed only speak a few words of English, so all the courses are very dumbed down. Everything I have spoke to, past or present, has nothing good to say. Please do not go here. Go to Camosun or Pacific Rim. You will actually learn something.

I loved coming to sprott shaw for the HCA program! My teachers were amazing and I felt like all the staff here truly cared about my individual experience and my success in the program and out in the work world. Even the receptionists knew my name and they would say hello Jessie! Or bye Jessie have a great day! whenever I would come in or leave at the end of the day. Even when I called on the phone they knew it was me and they were so kind and friendly and helpful. I felt very accepted here and my classmates and I grew like a family while we were finishing our program together. I didn't want to leave after I graduated, haha! But the sprott shaw staff told me I can come in an visits anytime-which I have done already! I am now working as a HCA for VIHA and I'm so happy in my career now and I'm seeing more and more every day while on the job that sprott shaw prepared me for what I needed to know! I highly recommend coming here if you wish to have a positive and fun experience while going to school for something you're passionate about!❤️

Started taking culinary courses here last fall. My teacher was this fat italian guy who could hardly speak english. He didnt show up for class one day and later we all found out that he had been busted in a pretty major sting with the rcmp. Turns out he was a drug king pin on the side and had been smuggling boat loads of fentanyl into victoria. After the dust had settled, they asked me if i wanted to teach the class and i literally havent even finished taking it myself. I dropped out later that day

my experience at Sprott Shaw (Digital Marketing & Sales) was done via virtual classroom, so no attendance at campus. For those considering this form of education, I would caution as zoom fatigue is a reality. The content load for this course is heavy with minimal 'down time' so self care is essential. The instructors are knowledgeable and Sprott Shaw offer the option to re-take any of the courses so that content may be better absorbed.

Phill is very understanding and super helpful. Ihab Heweidy is doing his best to facilitate the process for students. And after each course, there's a quastionaire for students to make sure the teacher did well and the student did not face any discrimination in class. I gave birth in mid of the process, and Dena allowed me to stay home and do my exams from home so I don't leave my baby. She was sweating and struggling to keep an eye on class and on me at the same time, to listen to me and to the students in class, for like 3 hours, until I finished the exam. I will always appreciate it. I am already recommending the college to friends

My Experience at this school has been very defeating. They are not here to help you achieve your goals and educate you. They are here to simply scam you into taking all of your money. Campus director, Anne Wilkes have contiusously lied to me through emails and threatened numerous times to be taken out of school when small issues come up, Instead of trying her best to work with me to solve the problem. This is very discerning when a teacher really doesn't CARE about you and wont do minimum they can to help a student graduate and achieve their goals. Ive also had several occasions where I was singled out for things my classmates were doing. My teachers on the other hand have always tried to help me and have been amazing. Thank you for your time

Loved attending school here. I took the Executive Office Administration course, and finished with a diploma and a great job in the government. All the instructors are lovely and helpful. (A big thanks to Chie for always being there for me, and being an awesome instructor helping me achieve my diploma). I would recommend Sprott Shaw to anyone! Start when you want and finish in no time! The hours are great and the classes are relevant to your real life careers. It’s worth the extra buck to go here!

This is a reputable school, with great staff -- from admins, to director, advisers, and teachers -- they all worked together to make a reputable school. Thankful to all my teachers who believed that I could reach my full potential. I am overwhelmed by all the support that I got from this school. I appreciate Fiona and Ally (the admins) so much --it may be a little thing, but wishing me good luck and saying things like "I'm rooting for you..", when I was in the middle of getting my new job, is everything, and it meant a lot. Thank you, Phil, for being a great "talent scout" (a.k.a. adviser-)--I didn't know what I am passionate about until I stepped into this school. There's so many people I want to mention and thank in this review..but I will save it until I am finally finished in October. :)

I've attended several post secondary institutions through my various career paths and I have to say without a doubt THIS school treated me and my interests the best. Not once did I have to give my student number for service, instead the entire administration and instruction staff knew me by name as well as knew my family members by name. They were available at a moment's notice for my concerns throughout the program. I was supported through the PN program from day one. You are expected to be responsible for your commitment to your studies and work independently and in groups, but it is done in a way that is reflective of the career you are choosing. I graduated over two years ago and am still in contact with the staff and encouraged to continue pushing my learning and my career forward. Managers have asked me where I've gone to school since I've been working as a nurse and I say proudly that Sprott Shaw Victoria is my alma mater. I feel completely prepared to walk on to any nursing floor and be a member of their team because of the foundation I received at the school.

Sarah Botsford My Story I would say a year from today I was not in a happy place and found myself being turned down from other Colleges. While researching Schools online (Facebook) I found Sprott Shaw Victoria and started reading about the CSWSS Program. I was initially attracted to the Addictions as I have family members and other people close to me in my life that have suffered from Addictions. I made an inquiry to Sprott Shaw College and was referred to Phil and at the time they did not offer the Addictions Program but I found components of the CSWSS Program that related to my goals in the sense it provided me an opportunity to help others. I decided to take a leap of faith and registered for the Community Support Worker Social Service Worker Program and began my studies in July of 2017. I can say with certainty that my time at Sprott Shaw was very fulfilling and a positive learning environment with what I would refer to as my best instructor I have ever had. Anne Hodge was more than an instructor, her kindness, empathy and support was 2nd to none and she created an atmosphere that enabled all class members to be open and engaging. I am just completing my practicum with Our Place and elated to say I have been offered a position within their organization and now feel I have found my niche in a Career that is not only where I know I belong but an environment where I can take the tools that Sprott Shaw has taught me and share with people in need. I want to take a moment and thank everyone involved in my journey and say that if you are seeking a School where you feel like being part of a family that are willing and ready to support you goals I would recommend reaching out to Sprott Shaw. Don't go to them for a typing test $50.00 wasted, total ripoff. They give you a five minute test and then don't divide the errors by 5, which would give you the correct words per minute. When confronted with this, they can't give you an answer and tell you to go somewhere else to do a test. Extremely rude and unprofessional of Management not to even get off their sorry butts and come and talk to you face-to-face. If this is how the school is run, good luck! Management should go back to school and learn how to interact with their clients. Unfortunately, I have to give them one star, I wouldn't give them any if I had the option. I work in a job that require me to type all day and I've been doing it for 34 years, can't tell me I only type 25 wpm.

Buyer Beware. This review is based solely on the refund policy and not the teachers at this school. My husband was enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Assistant Program and completed 3 courses (6 weeks of a 43 week program). During his 6th week, he was invited to be a part of a fast track training program with his preferred future employer, so of course he agreed and withdrew from Sprott Shaw. Now Sprott Shaw is insisting he pay 50% of the tuition (for 15% completion), which works out to over $1,000 per week for the 6 weeks he attended! In the Director's own words, it is an "unfortunate consequence of our refund policy".

Sprott Shaw College Victoria had played a very important part of my life in pursuing my career and dreamed to work in the government. I took my Executive Office Administration program which I finished last December 21, 2018. It's an eight month program with rigid training and skills development. Instructors provides one on one help when a student need it. In other words, you will get the learning you will need. They had helped me develop my soft skills and hard skills to get the job I've always wanted. Thank you so much to my advisor Phil Nealy for always believing in me, to Chie Landiak for teaching me all I need for this endeavor, as well as Kurtis, for the supportive faculty and staff, our director Anne Wilkes, advisor David who had helped me enhanced my resume, the smiles of our front desk Jenny and Fiona, to our fun and active employment and career advisor Daniel who would help us get the job in all ways. My experience at this school was mentally draining is the most negative way. I had so much passion for becoming a nurse when I started this program and this school made me lose all of my passion for ever going back to school, especially for nursing. They do not set you up for success. This is genuinely coming from a fellow Sprott Shaw LPN drop out.

My name is Leah Ching and I have just graduated the Executive Office Administration course at the Sprott Shaw Victoria Campus Nov 23, 2018 I am happy to say within 1 week of completing my studies I have been offered a full time position as an Administration Assistant. Sprott Shaw was an amazing College that helped me in so many ways and taught me the real life skills I needed to become an Administration Executive. I would like to thank all of my Instructors for their hard work, dedication and allowing me to grow and learn in welcoming environment. I was so proud after my initial interview as I felt so confident it was almost like being in class as the questions I was asked mirrored what we were taught in class. The teachers do not have teaching degrees and made everyone feel like they didn't want to be there...The school was totally unprepared for covid and unwilling to provide any leeway or work with students. The computers didn't work properly. The teachers laughed at me and completely agreed when I called the school out for being so disorganized.

I went to the Duncan Campus there and referred my brother to come. He ended up leaving but after your cut off point so he paid the tuition and it was unable to be returned. When I asked for my referral cheque I was told that I didnt get it because my brother quit. I don't think that was fair because he paid and you didn't refund the money to the government because it was past the cut off time stated in his contract. I deserve that referral fee and should fairly be compensated. I only was going to give three stars because the teacher was amazing and is still a friend to this day but I was reminded by the fact you closed the school down and continued classes down in Victoria when I didnt own a vehicle which made life very hard. So I'll give you two stars

I have wonderful experience within Sprott Shaw Victoria Campus. It gave me opportunity to become a successful bookkeeper. Although I have attend the college for 20 days due to COVID-19 Pandemic the staff is so helpful and helped me every way I could succeed.
