Really disappointed with the instructor first of all college are close we can’t see them in person and the instructor took 3-4 weeks to reply back and it’s only 2 months course….. In one of my assignment she gave me zero and I emailed her regarding that but no reply for 3 weeks then I mailed the head of the course and she didn’t help me too …. And now after 4 weeks instructor put a misconduct on same assignment. That's how they help if you try to reach out to them ….. I am so stressed don’t know what to do ….

What a waste of money their HCA program is. Most unprofessional money grubbing institution I've ever dealt with. They should try putting a little effort in helping people navigate their paperwork nightmare. Worst administration and program oversight possible. No accountability or dispute mechanism for addressing their failure to ensure all information and criteria is met for the program enrollment. But they will happily allow you to continual re-enroll so long as you keep on supplying money for their mistakes.

Literally the most frustrating academic institution I’ve ever dealt with. I signed up to upgrade a high school course, they took my $500 right away and didn’t tell me I couldn’t take the course while working because of the online class and exam times. I asked how I would coordinate it and THEY told ME to drop the course before I even started. At their recommendation, I did. Now they’re refusing to give me any refund. Not only that, they charged me TWICE. Whenever I ask any questions they just give me another email and another email. They refuse to call me or give me a phone #. They’re taking weeks between vague emails that don’t give me any direction. They owe me almost a grand and they are ignoring me now. Extremely unprofessional.

Very Poor enrollement service! My friend doing the same course got her transcripts ready to be picked up on the Same busy day whereas to me enrollement insisted that they don't prefer extra foot in busy hours due to change of term! That's the amount of respect they are willing to give. I elaborated that it's urgent, but then they stopped to reply! That's not professionalism when the rules don't apply to all!

I want to take admission in this college because i have read about its courses, culture activities, its reviews...so on. But only because of irrelevant funding policy of this college ruin my dream. College should understand the situation of international students in this covid-19 situation. Just because of risk taking policy i have to withdrawal my application....most of the colleges are ready to give full refund after 2nd stage refusal but this college has not any concern regarding international students.

Between waiting months on emails and having teachers that are rude and do not care about your education is just the beginning of what you will get once attending here. 6 people in our class got accused of plagiarism which is beyond ridiculous for any school and one classmate had over 380 comments on their assignment stating how awful it was. How unprofessional! The school did not offer real textbooks this year and I had to locate online textbooks from different resources as they did not even offer online textbooks either. Avoid this school at all cost!

I paid full tuition for a HEAS1000 course with LPN instructors who DID NOT prepare lectures or lecture material, design or create assignments, mark or respond to tests and assignments. Where did my $700 go? I DON'T KNOW. But surely it wasn't toward my education. NorQuest leadership doesn’t hire quality LPN instructors. Majority instructors are slow to mark assignments, extremely irresponsible at answering to student emails, and unqualified at designing learning material in Moodle. Having not been able to settle things with them personally, I escalated to the department chair, and faculty head, neither of them really took me serious. Both of them protected them as though they were children who needed shielding from scrutiny, and did not in any way acknowledge that they were in fact not children, but lab instructors in a position of considerable power and influence. So, I was summarily brushed aside. Cold and depressing as an LPN student. Bullied and ignored. For them it's just a business. Only your money matters. Overall NorQuest is a LOW CLASS EXPERIENCE!

The institution is really nice and it looks like they do great things for the community in a broader sense, and the institution has lots of potential. Unfortunately, the wait times everywhere are super long. The instructor I had didn't respond to questions via email. Answers are really vague and conflicting. I was trying to log into my Myquest account to pay my balance and no one was able to give be definitive answers and help me. Eventually it got past the "10% deadline". This resulted in a late fee of 100$ (Who exactly has 100$ lying around for lols anyways?) despite the fact that I was actively trying to resolve the issue. Definitely seems like they are more interested in collecting your cash and price gouging than actually helping in any way.

The worst scam. They put me in a grade 7 equivalent math class when i wanted to upgrade my high school courses, and set me back to grade 10 english when i was half way completed english 30. They projected 8 years just for the upgrading my biology, chem, english and math because they were starting me from the beginning with absolutely no reason to. They made me do an aptitude test, which i did, and i checked what the score evaluations were online with the scores I received and they were not even close to being bad enough to start me so far back. I paid around $2500.00 for two courses. The teachers are so nice, and they do a great job, its just the school that is bad

I have read all comments. I am writing letter to all IRCC and educational board. This college should be closed permanently. They give too much stress to student. And they don’t help anything. I hope they will get soon notice from canada education board. Student navigation does not care about the students. They claim to be there to help but they do not answer their emails for weeks and if you call you are stuck waiting for hours to hear from someone. The school claims to have the students mental health as a top priority however they do not. The stress levels of finding and enrolling in the correct courses are through the roof and it is only increased by student navigation when they give the wrong information or when they tell you they can help just to be told later that they can not help. The school needs to get better at their communication skills, because too much gets missed or it is misinformed.

I feel they don’t really care for the students but rather want their money more. I find the staff unorganized and if you need one thing done or answered, you have to dance through loop holes. Ive seem some of the instructors very rude to the international students and treat the Canadian born better. We are all racial on this planet. If there is an incident, and try to get help, the higher staff will stand together rather than try to resolve an issue. I don’t really recommend going to this college. You’re better off going to Grant McEwan or UofA

This school has been very disappointing. Everyone passes you off to the next person for "answers" after you wait an inconvenient amount of time, but you will get an answer after enough time has gone passed that you are now ineligible for any refunds or to change anything. A friend was brushed off over her concerns, they made it sound like it was her fault/problem (zero accountability) and they made it really hard for her to transfer credits from an Alberta University. The process of signing up for classes is awful and confusing, you need to take the courses in the order they are laid out online otherwise you won't finish in the time they say it takes (so good luck if you work full time). I only have one school to compare NorQuest to, and it was 1000x easier and student focused than this school. Wish I went somewhere else. Live and learn I guess. I should have looked at the reviews before I wasted all this money. I started the school year as an online student, now they have Hy-flex courses, the technology was only recently received at the school and the teachers don't know how to use it. The courses have started and we don't have access codes for the books. One of my instructors was told the day before that he had to teach this course. It is a complete mess. They replied to this review more quickly than I have ever received a response about any issues I have had. Still waiting a week for anyone to respond to me after multiple attempts trying to email and call, only took two days to respond to this review, says a lot. Save your money and your sanity.

This is the worst school i have ever been to when i went to register gor my course im taking i had to go back multiple times there front desk people are rude& not helpful at all. There very disorganized they dont care enough about there students, im taking an academic upgrade online & my teacher isnt even helpful im getting terrible grades& how she created the moodle is unorganized i didnt spend alot of money to have an education like this. The teachers are dedicated to helping you succeed. The start and finish time is reasonable for one to have an after school job. The classes sre setup in a way that classmates are able to form a friendship as well as, feel comfortable with each other in a group. Every one is well respected no matter where they are from or what they are. I do recommend this school to everyone will to upgrade themselve in the career field. Downside is, everything has to come out of yours pocket.

I am trying to get into the dental assistant program and my transcripts are already given to the Alberta Apperenticeship board like 9 years back to process my redseal bakers program. When Norquest asked me for my transcript I submitted what I had left for my marks and paperwork from international studies. They said I m not fulfilling the requirements for the program. On their website English as second language test was mandatory as one of the requirements where Celpip was mentioned, I got my celpip done and scheduled Accuplacer exam which is on 1st week of feb2021 as I don’t have any more copies of transcripts with me of high school accordingly to the requirements. Suddenly just after the office opens I get this email that they don’t value celpip exams any more so I have to give some other exams from their website mentioned to fulfil the requirements. Here I m trying to get a step ahead and rules for admission are getting changed day by day. I just don’t want to miss getting the seat for the fall 2021 program. I feel very hopeless. It’s hard to get hold of the admission to talk to them directly either. Not sure if I would apply to some other college, if it takes so long to get an admission at Norquest.

My proctor just ended my final English exam 5 minutes early so she could go home. She also didn't allow me to use the thesaurus attached to MS word even though it clearly states in the syllabus that it's allowed. I ended up having to hand in my final essay incompleted, and there's nothing I can do about it. Besides this one major issue, I've had no complaints. Edit: issue has been resolved, I was allowed a rewrite

All their voicemails are full and they aren’t even replying to their representatives when students are stuck in India waiting for enrolment letters or even access to the portal so they could study online.

This September 2020 session is awful BA Accounting, Cost Accounting I and Intermediate Accounting I is rude with students. How could you ask to student to leave the class (online) just because someone else want to ask some questions. What if those questions could be benefit for them. Why don't you consider those shy students who are scare to ask questions. His technique of selecting practice quizzes and quizzes is not good. Students are practicing on different exercises. when it comes to midterms, asking to go review all practice and quizzes. We are student taking different subjects at the same time. Why not take your time to select a bucket of questions from all chapter as a review for midterms? Knowing now that I'm going to deal with him again during winter 2021 is already stressful.

DO NOT waste your money and time with NorQuest. I should have read these reviews before deciding to do academic upgrading with this institution. It's a lot of money for a course of very poor quality. The material sucks, they've changed the instructor half-way through the course, the new instructor won't reply to my email asking for help with lessons, they advertise a flexibility that isn't really there. I've been trying to contact NorQuest about withdrawal and refund, but they are taking their sweet time... it's frustration after frustration. That's all you get from them. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. ONE STAR is way more than they deserve.

Dont waste your money. They have all these respect and anti bullying ads around the school but both teachers tried to fail me and get me kicked out when all i ever did was pass all my classes and work really hard. I even had a teacher take me into a room and yell at me. One teacher wrote up a 9 page report on how she didnt like me , getting mad my husband brought me lunch on my lunch break, as if that is any concern of hers. I did pass the program and i am very good at my job with lots of praise and many clients are very happy i work with them. Dont go to a school that allows teachers to bully students. Pay extra for professional staff and a better learning environment

I have taken ESL evening with norquest for one year. was just not worth it I didn't gain any thing. I started with my test result I took from other institutions CLBA 7 and after a year working full time and evening classes three days a week each three hours, I had to take a test to know my results and the fuuny part I said okay I had learned a lot and I can get my CLBA 8 and that give me CLB A 6 ii ts just a joke. Now am so glad I quite and moved to MacEwan university, they are the best and knowledgeable I love each class with them. I had finished all that I needed within 4months and currently am taking my desired course. I don't advice any body to go norquest espicaly if black they have an issue with black.

Every time I would call the college, before registering, and after registered as a student, I was never able to have basic questions answered by registrar. Each and every time, I would be transferred 5+ times, and end up at an answering machine. I asked questions about course info, and had someone at the front desk tell me "I don't know.", and end the conversation at that. Online instructors make you feel like they don't want to answer your questions about coursework. Had an online instructor tell me to stop emailing her so much, and ask less questions. Preceptors seem to be forced into taking on students, and make it VERY obvious, every day of your internship, how extremely inconvenienced they are to have you there. Wish I could've had a better first college experience, will definitely take courses elsewhere in the future.

The only reason this school has students in the LPN program is because Norquest has no competition in Edmonton. Here’s the tea and straight up facts: NorQuest as an institution doesn’t advocate for their students. If you have a complaint, they’ll talk to you just to let you know that the teacher is correct without further investigation. If you ever get Erin Miller as an instructor (and your last name isn’t Caucasian) you will fail the course. Just search up “racism at NorQuest College” and you’ll see the CBC article from 2020. In addition to this clinical LPN instructors are rude and the school shows little support during clinical. As you can see from all the horrible reviews on Google, do NOT consider going to this institution for an Education. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

Do not waste your money here. I am currently an international student here and I have to take two extra semesters just to complete my one year course which was originally of two semesters. They cancelled two of my courses without any reason at all just two days before the semester starts and I emailed enrollment about this no answer till now. Taking some upgrading courses here and the teachers and staff have always been extremely helpful and friendly. Yea, it takes a little time to see 1000 people who are having issues, but the issues I did have were fixed quickly and with no fuss after the fact. The student council is run very effectively. If you need anything from Norquest, they will find a way to help! Just ask for it!

Do not waste your time or money here. After having worked as an LPN for a few months, myself as well as fellow new-grads feel horribly ripped off and as though we were given the bare minimum. Many things are glossed over and rushed due to the “streamlining” of courses. If I had known what I know now I would have upgraded and done one of the BSCN programs available in Edmonton, as I’m sure the quality of education and customer service would be better than here. The only reason this institution has students is due to the lack of LPN programs available in the Edmonton area, or Alberta in general. Norquest, you need to do better as a school and a program for your students and more importantly, for the public that will be receiving care.

I took the HUC program online in fall 2020. Registering for classes is a little frusterating but the rest of the year was great! All of my teachers were awesome and were super devoted to helping the students succeed. I was registered as a full online student but a few weeks in they opened the live classes up to the online students as well (as opposed to recorded). I read a lot of reviews from students who never actually attended. I would reccomend Norquest for online schooling!

Worst experience so far. Reason being: 1. Spoke to their help team (Which is not really helpful) and asked if January 2021 (I asked a long time ago like in the month of June 2020) intake is available and they said yes, it is available for both nationals and internationals (That was not the right information, the program was actually waitlisted for internationals). Anyway, I lost my $150 processing/admission fee via myalberta.ca (No fault of mine). Then I reapplied for may 2021 and got accepted and got admission acceptance letter. After which I was needing some help from their international student center, enrollment and student advisors but they kept telling me the wait time which I understand but they SHOULD KNOW that international applications take a LOT OF TIME to be PROCESSED by CIC officers (Which they do not seem to understand). College could be good for national but for internationals ummmmm I doubt. Moreover, you do not get up to date and proper information that you request for (This is the step where I got annoyed at by them). I am asking something else and they are responding something else. Does not look good at all from a business point of view. I mean how come you expect huge fees (tuition fee) from internationals and give no help to them. UNACCEPTABLE. I do not want to put my money towards an institution that is careless and not ready to listen. On top of that, The website does not work at all on internet explorer (All versions) and plenty of glitches on google chrome. On chrome no matter how much you clear your cache and cookies and update the version of your browser it does not help at all. While picking up classes the page reloads and the previous information disappears (Not Good). And there are a lot of issues on every page no matter if you are adding classes, dropping classes, swapping classes, finding programs, payments and all that. You do not want your money to disappear like that on the payment screen/steps (NOT RELIABLE AT ALL) plus their international website flywire (I guess) is such a complicated system. It is like you lose your money and no refund. WHAT SORT OF SYSTEM IS IT!!!!!!!!!! NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK!!!!!!!! I have a lot more to talk about but did not want to waste my time here

The one star is for the amazing instructors who unfortunately work here. The rest of this college is a compete joke. I applied months in advance online for academic upgrading. I called one day to ask about funding options. The website said it was still available to apply but when I called to confirm a lady told me “our online website has nothing to do with the school itself” What??? Also after applying, the site says they will call you. I never received a call until I called them and they said their program was filled up. This is the most unorganized place Ive ever seen. Zoi from the office of registrar is extremely unhelpful. All they seem to care about is money. Their office doesn’t not take visa debit over the phone. Wait times are always long and sometimes even if you’re waiting for a navigator they’ll still close up and tell you to try again tomorrow.

This is an update to my last review. This is one of the most crooked colleges ive been to. Been coming here for two years. The greed is discusting. Recommend going elsewhere. Its also extremely difficult to get enrolled and complete enrollement for courses. You often miss course registration deadlines and cancelation deadlines due to the very slow communication. Could be quite frustrating. The instructors/teachers are great but the registration process is a hassle and once funds change hands, there is no getting it back. The institutions fees and tuitions are pricey when considering the hidden fees. I promise, you are better off just about anywhere else. Even at home self study. Ive been to two other colleges.

Wow! I would never go to this school. I called the toll free number provided for a course being offered in Edmonton and got some girl on switchboard after being on hold through inquiries menu after 20 minutes. Not only was she not willing to transfer me to get more info from the actual course adviser (according to her they aren’t available for incoming calls) but she had no info to tell me as far as online or accreditation and told me I had to call Ontario association for more info. Really? You really need to educate your switchboard for more info if they are kept in charge of more than what they know. As a school you should be able to tell me if a course learned at your facility in Edmonton is accredited in another province (your accreditation info online certainly did not provide). Also had to educate her on mature student rules and what I was seeing online. No understanding of course whatsoever. She was so rude as well with zero welcoming attitude from the start. I felt like I was disturbing her day without any expertise on her end. Geesh! Not impressed so moving on. Amateurs rather than professional educators.

I feel the need to not let this review go un-noticed. I never felt the need to utilize my teachers time or knowledge in the first half of my course, like it was a piece of cake for me. Anita Parker has been an amazing teacher throughout my second half of my Biology 30 course. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She has always invited me to approach her with any questions at anytime whether it be through email or zoom meetings. She's opened up her schedule for me in a way that no other teacher has when attending school classes in life. Anita has explained things to me in depth and in a way that made sense to me as a student. This was very helpful for me as I have never taken a Biology course in high-school. Shes always been a very approachable kind of person and always encouraging me to "dive right in there"!! Take the quiz and see what you know and understand and relate back etc. Anita has made my course challenging in a way where she would give the necessary information and tools to solve the problems that I struggled with and once again encourage me to try again and practice and I will then know and understand. Anita Parker deserves to be recognized whether it be for a nomination or just an outstanding teacher. I will always remember her smile and her encouragement. I appreciate everything she has done for me. Looking forward too my very own new challenges ahead. Thank you for your time and energy to further my education and career choice.

I tried to register for an online program for January but they informed me that some classes would not be available but didnt give me a reason why. The student navigators were also of poor help. I tried emailing and calling them and left numerous messages but never heard back from them. Talk about being non professional. Lazy and unprofessional staff.

Don't ever take English 030-1 online the instructor for this class is the absolute worst that I have ever had!! His theory on writing essays doesn't make any sense at all. Take the class physically in the classroom its more worth your time.

Absolute mess of a college. The service points are all a mess. If I need help with anything the people at the desks aren't able to help they try to find someone to help or tell me to book an appointment or email the library if appointment times don't work. There are never appointments the same day. If I'm working on an assignment I should be able to get help the same day and soon after I ask for help when I need help, not later that week. As students we pay a LOT of money to be a student. We shouldn't have to hope that we fit into the schedules of the people who supposedly are the only people who can help us. Then there is the bookstore. WTH is up with that? We have to order books/course supplies online on a website that is not easy to use and arrange a pickup time. I don't have a credit card and had to borrow a family members and then pay them back. The bookstore never answers their phone and emails take forever for a response.

If I could put zero stars, I would. I've had 3 decent teachers out of 7 courses. The school is very unorganized. I fell behind several classes because of it being so unorganized. Not having assignments up and than boom, you have an assignment due tomorrow. Teachers don't reply for days, or weeks if at all! Not to mention, I'm an online student and have done all my courses, assignments, exams online. I am out of province and figured I could do my exam online like usual! but no, it has to be in class which is ridiculous, anyway, I emailed FBET students to tell them and they didn't answer any of my questions they just said "I suggest you fill out this deferral form" so I did, and I was denied because of lack of documentation which I sent my itinerary. But it didn't explain why I am out of province when in all honesty, it's none of their business. So now, I am going to lose 40% of my grade because of something so ridiculous.

Completely agree with all of the 1 star reviews. I attended norquest college in 2012 as a single parent. There were absolutely no supports to help you get through, no one to answer questions, etc. Fast forward to almost 10 years later and I am still having the same issues. The student navigators are not helpful, nor or they compassionate or even around to help you. No one in the school seems to know how to answer anything without directing you to someone else. This is the third year in a row I have just been given a run around. 10/10 would not recommend. Norquest is a joke.

To- Norquest College In these tough times due to covid-19, Canadian embassy is unable to open VFS. Therefore we have to submit incomplete application.Thus embassy is giving AIP, it does not ensure stage 2 approval. Most of the colleges in canada are flexible with students. Some defer their program start date others are offering 100% refund after stage 2 refusal. But norquest is doing nothing. Please keep in mind that this situation is not created by the students. You should make policies according to present situation to reduce the risk factor that international students are facing. Atleast you can defer the intake of student if required. Please try to cooperate in this tough times. According to me Norquest College has no concern with future of international students according to their current actions.

AVOID AT ALL COST EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL after two weeks of attempting to call the "student navigator" office for academic upgrading assessment testing and program funding info, being repeatedly directed to an answering machine to which messages are never replied, I attempted to pay the application fee to see if it would speed the process along at all. 3 days later I still had not received a call back from the student navigator and proceeded to contact the admission department demanding a response or my money returned. They proceeded to tell me to call the very number that is not responding and...on and on this went until someone at admissions contacted the team lead for the student navigators office. Lo and behold, within ten minutes of an email from admissions I had a call from the student navigator office, only to find out that the excessive delay had forced me to surpass the deadline for funding based on application times. After all of this and what amounted to essentially zero services rendered, they happily informed me they would not return or transfer my 95$ as credit toward a different semester. something so easily fixed for both parties has resulted in me choosing to continue my educational upgrading at NAIT instead.

Totally not a best place for International students. The motive of few instructors is to just fail and demotivate the students by not appreciating the piece of work they do. Even the faculty and others dont even respond to any of the emails and other concerns. They keep delaying which is very disheartening. They mentioned that here at this institution students are be heard and they are an important asset of the institution but all they play is unfair plots. Whatever the instructors says is the final decision and i dont think so listening to the students is mandatory for them.

This school needs to re look at their refund policy. They cancelled the class I was enrolled in, it took weeks of jumping through hoops to get the refund for the course. They didn’t refund my application fee. It clearly states in their website “ The college reserves the right to cancel courses or programs for operational reasons. If the college cancels a course or program, all college fees including application and administration fees are refunded.” Yet I got told they don’t refund application fees.....

I transfered to NorQuest college as a university student. During submiting my transfer credit application I faced some difficulties, but the college has very responsible staff and thanks to chief customer experience officer Matthew, I was able get my results much faster.

Honestly it's quite rediculous, my girlfriend has been attending courses here, she is locked out of her email and as such can't access what she need. She has been fighting with tech support they still haven't fixed it this has been happening since June You can't reach anyone and on Google it says they are open till 10. Very sad because you could do so much better.

I went to Norquest to upgrade some high school courses in order to get into University. I chose the "Online Anytime" option which was very flexible with my schedule. They had easy to follow along videos and the teachers were all incredible. Always quick to answer questions and available for one on one tutoring sessions weekly. I got accepted into Engineering school thanks to the foundational learning Norquest provided. Thanks again!!!

Dear Norquest, You seriously need to revise the video links associated with the Math self study work books. The instructors just quickly ramble on the exact same information we find in the Lesson Answer Key PDF's which is a complete WASTE of time. We need CLEAR repetitive math explanations on how the answers were found and some side examples to succeed in these studies. I am currently relying on Youtube 3rd party channels for clear explanations. I am currently on the Unit 3 probability portion of the course and this has to be the worst of it so far! She writes 8 answers from the workbook in less then 2 minutes. Was not worth the $1200 spent in tuition.

This is the really disappointing. I've been calling and every time I call I just get transfer to the next person, ALL THE TIME! If you need help you most likely have to send an email which takes them weeks to respond and when that time comes, it would be way to late to be able to get the help that you need. I also phoned earlier and while stating my concerns, the person made it sound like it is my fault. Like, the problem I was concerning isn't even connected to what she's talking about. She couldn't even help me.

I am not even fully registered and I am absolutely disgusted at how fast these guys are to take my money and how little technological and informational support is available. Highly would NEVER recommend going here. I look esl here and it’s honestly pointless the teachers do everything in there power so you fail. We had to do an essay writing and I did it. The only mistake I had was a spelling error and I got a 92% and I asked her why and the teacher told me she just doesn’t give 100s just because we’re in ESL. How is anyone suppose to do good if the teacher refuses to give anyone full marks. NEVER go here it’s honestly a waste of your money
