Terrible services, screw a lot of people over. Snobby and on their high horses. So much so they have not fired teachers that are bullying students, and reported by a massive amount of students. Was only kicked from one course they teach. When students need help it takes a long time or they give half assed help. They have made it a lot harder on students and now turning the school into an insane asylum look by pure white walls. They have removed a lot of what made john abbott homey and caring. They have lost their touch and I hope they fix their issues. I now have to retake everything and change schools.

I specifically want to comment about my experience in continue education building. A bunch of dummies with super old structured programs and old educated teachers that wasted my time a lot. I was so frustrated not just because the whole program was designed so poor but also because they would insist what we were learning is super useful and never realized how much they were wasting our time. If you are looking to become a web developer specially a front-end one do not waste your time taking their programs.

John Abbott College is a really nice institution. Spent three weeks in the facility and it was a great experience. The hostels residence halls were decent and the classes quite comfortable to study. Like the outdoors, walkways, bike rides and the view by the lake.

Great school! The grounds are beautiful and the residence is very nice to live in. My teachers were pretty awesome, courses (on average) were interesting and fair, and the student body was very friendly. Went to several places for help at one point or another (financial aid, front office, nurse, campus security, etc...) and they were super helpful. The student life (ie: various clubs) is a little less organized than other colleges, but if you put in a bit of effort you're sure to find activities you enjoy. I have no regrets joining this school.

Good CEGEP but overcrowded. Small gym and some classrooms are located in the basement where water and waste pipes are hanging from the ceiling. Overall the experience was good and I would recommend.

Borderline incompetent administrative staff, but it's the only English cegep in the area. Like all other cegeps you'll have classes, they're alright. Just pray you don't have to do anything involving documents at the offices.

Probably the best science building. If you're considering studying sciences they have amazing laboratories and study rooms, as well as an elevator. Most of the teachers are dedicated to help you with your homework or if you have questions. It's also split up by subjects so you can always ask another teacher if your teacher is not there. If you join a sport for JAC, they give you free tutoring as well as a academic advisor who is super knowledgeable and tries to make you succeed. For computer science, the laboratories need renovation. The computers are powerful. The program allows you to have a lot of time to work on labs, most of the time I would be done when the lab would be due in like 1-2 weeks. Compared to sciences is pretty much night and day. The sciences at John Abbott are extremely good. The only things I would recommend changing would be: the wifi connection, computer science laboratories. The teacher to student ratio in some classrooms.

Very bad management, they don’t respect time, I registered for info session three times and they were late starting the session 15 minutes late every time! The info session was with Pak-Kei and Arian.deleeuw, they came late and Paki didn’t give a clear answer about all the questions and they ask you to stay on mute and read the slides by yourself! This is ridiculous! Like one of the questions was: is this program going to be online!? Answer was we are not sure yet! He was not sure about everything and this session was 100% useless for me. Overall I don’t respect any organization that doesn’t respect time! I’m not gonna study here.

There is not enough time or space for me to write everything I love about this place. The staff and students treat me very well when I am at school. It is a very accepting environment of this old guy returning to school. I have been there for three years now and am getting ready to graduate this semester. If I had one thing to complain about, it is the snow removal in the winter. I have a limited mobility and have taken several falls over the year due to the snow and ice not being properly attended to. It was never on the parts they consider their area to clean. They apparently have an agreement with McGill and need to press harder on them to keep everything cleaned up.

John Abbott College is one of the best and beautiful CEGEPS in the city. The memories I will never forget here and I loved every single second of it. It was tough to do some clases and adjust to the style of teaching but it is the just like a University and high school combined. Some staff and professors were so kind to their students. Some were not however that is their business and I understand their ways of teaching or helping. The library took a long time to finish but it finally it is finish after 4 years. It is one of the most beautiful campuses on the island. Nice buildings especially the Science building and they have a lot of Green spaces and many things to do. Clubs are easy to join and all students are friendly and kind to each other. In my opinion, this school is way better than Concordia University. This school should have been a university instead of a CEGEP. All in all a great school with many programs to choose from to your liking. When I have the time I pass by from time to time and checkout the beautiful and allustrius campus. Once a JAC student, always a JAC alumni.

Stopped in for a special event however I did attend the college many years ago. I had always found that the college was excellent. The teachers always provided great support and there are many activities to enroll in. Sports facilities are above average.

Had a swimming competition there and the water was very gross and cloudy. You couldn't see the lines at the bottom of the pool. Very unsanitary and dangerous. I don't have anything against the college though

John Abbot is a great school. They really underline the importance of your rights as a student, and they have so many committees there if ever there's a problem with one of your teachers. My transition from high-school to college was nothing if not positive. They have orientation day, for new comers, so they don't feel stressed out and over loaded on their first day of classes. Teachers are for the most part very good at their jobs and friendly, as well as understanding. This is really a great school. I don't really find myself praying for the weekend to start half as much as I did in high-school.

AEC programs are being presented by very unprofessional people! Pak-kei and Arina are not the right people for this department! They take your money and throw you in the trash! This is an educational institution and there should be some professional ethics!

I'm gonna be real. Strictly as a review for the AEC program in Tech, If want to jump start your career pre-university I think this is more efficient than a co-op program in university. Personal opinion, but I'd say in 2020 get a general degree, get into one of these AEC programs (1 year + stage), get integrated into the workplace and then start university in compsci or eng. I'm giving this a 4 because although useful some of the teachers can get annoying (rambling on about their personal life), or bore you to death (Monotone voice and slide reading) so your experience is more likely to be around 3-4 out of 5 given the ups and downs.

I completed my Honours Science degree at Abbott many years ago. I loved my time here. The education was top-notch, challenging, and provided by many talented teachers (indeed, most were far better than the instructors I had a McGill and Université de Montréal). I completed a variety of arts, humanities and science classes that enabled me to open my mind to whole new world. The physical education classes were excellent as well (I hated phys ed in high school; Abbott showed me an alternative). The location of the college is gorgeous; you can sit by the water during your breaks. I sometimes go back to visit the campus.

Did my nursing eval exam. Scored one of the highest. Did not get in. Many who have tried before me got in, some scored low some have tried many times. That i know for a fact. We all chase the same thing here. I'm happy for you. But what the hell was the exam for? They have more priority? I scored high. I know i deserve a spot. I've studied both here (2014-2015) and at Dawson College (2009). Comparatively, the services here are much better with lots of support. The teachers at JAC seem to dedicate more of themselves to their courses than I personally experienced at Dawson, and inspired me to want to pursue higher education again. The Registrar's Office was always helpful and guided me in the right direction. As someone who is currently applying for Concordia and having to deal with their system, JAC spoils students with how easy and accessible they make all aspects of the registration, records and bookkeeping processes. A special mention; the Native Resource Centre is superb. It was a great place for myself and other Indigenous students to gather, socialize, have questions answered, receive tutoring etc. all of which came in handy during my time there.
