First visit ..amazing hospital god bless them
This is the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. I came in after passing out in the metro with severe pain that they didn’t ask me anything about. They told me they would call my name for a blood test and after 7 hours of not being able to eat (now not only the pain but light headed) I asked a nurse why it was taking so long. He said “I could have done your blood test 7 hours ago, and now you’ll have to wait a few more hours for the results.” He said he could give me some Advil for the pain.... so I left. 7 hours and didn’t see a doctor. Maybe doctors don’t even work there. I came in a couple years ago with the same issue with an appointment to have an ultrasound and the doctor laughed at me and refused the ultrasound. He was extremely rude. I’ve never been treated so bad in my life. These people don’t care about patients at all.
The new hospital is bigger and more complete, but I feel the service has gotten worse. Wait time is longer and this place is nestled behind 2 major roadworks with not much access point
1 test 26 hours wait in the emergency . All you get from the nurses is well it take time ,no cooking a steak take time theres life at stakes here ....
professional, reliable and friendly.the best hospital in Montreal.
Great staff. Very clean new buildings.
Zero stars If your not suffering from a gunshot wound, bleeding profusely, or came in by ambulance..don’t bother going to the ER, they’ll turn you away for such trivial things such as ohh..appendicitis...nice job triage. Maybe you wouldn’t have to plaster all those stupid signs all over the place about “zero tolerance” for people getting upset if you did your jobs.. Service like this is what makes Americans weary of public healthcare.
I walked in the ER Friday afternoon with a minor arm injury that required medical attention. The patient ahead of me, who was sitting in the chair at pre-triage, complained of severe fatigue, shortness of breath, and chest pressure (covid …
Went to the ER Royal Victoria great service .The wait was reasonable. Doctor Zachary Levine was amazing ..
I understand some people complain about ER waiting time, but that is the case at any hospital you go to. From my family's personal experience, my wife gave birth there twice, and both times the hospital was fantastic. Clean nice rooms and …
I go biannualy since it has opened and have always had great service.
Worst experience of life in urgence …
I'm so fed up of this hospital and the never ending hours waiting to see a doctor. I came for an asthma attack and I left 18 hours later. Only being seen on my 8th hour. Unacceptable.
I had an appointment for ultrasound at 8h30am, after 2h30 of waiting I did Ultrasound and then I had to keep waiting until 3h10pm for the result. It took too too much time for waiting. That was so horrible for these pregnancies like me for waiting that long. I even did not have lunch just because I worry I might miss my round.
Great place
I always had a good experience there. Everyone is very polite and respectful. The emergency department can’t be compared to the rest of the Hospital!
Great place, excellent doctors and staff, makes your stay more pleasant in time of medical need. Thank you.
I was rushed to the Royal Victoria's emergency wing, last September. They quickly diagnosed my condition (layman terms: stomach parslysis, due to my diabetes medication). I spent two days & nights in ICU, then up to my own room, for three days. The staff is overworked, but friendly. I was able to choose my own meals from a menu. But the flat screen TV was $10.00/day! I noticed that on my wing of about 6 rooms, only two patients paid for their TV service. So the TVs are just going to waste. I took a stroll through the hospital when I felt a bit better, and was struck by the atmosphere. Once you leave the patients rooms/floor, you feel as if you're in an office building. It's almost as if patients are hidden away. Really odd! ⭐⭐⭐???? for the cleanliness and service.
If it wasn't for the MUHC Royal Victoria hospital I would of lost my life to Goodpasture Syndrome. I spent a month in the ICU fighting for my life and with their care I am alive today. I went to two hospitals and multiple clinics looking for answers prior to going to the Vic... None of them dug deep enough to figure out what was wrong with me.Google my name for the whole story.
Terrible just terrible me and my girlfriend have been waiting here for hours she had a kidney infection and was in pain while waiting. Now I must say I am from Toronto and have never experienced this long of a wait time in an ER room I know it's covid so if that's the case then let me and my girlfriend know that out situation isn't as urgent after she has given you guys her urine you can just give us a call and let us know what our next step is then having us wait 8+ hours to see the most laziest and slowest doctors in Canada this is a disgrace to the health care system we speak so highly of. When you have people waiting hours in an Emergency room. If it's going to be this long of a wait then you guys have no right calling it an ER I am really disappointed in this hospital
Great.. We are finally here.. Thanks to all..y
I waited 14H to see dr, I don’t know why they call it emergency ???? they just should call it extra latency ????
The absolute worst hospital in terms of accessibility. For shame.
They make you wait for 12 hours, rude and un professional
Simply terrible experience. Waited 10mins for a scheduled ultrasound which was great! Technician was fine, no real issue there. That's where the hospital's process falls apart basically. Been waiting a total of 5+ hours for results, still not called. Two couples before us waited over 6 hours for their results. - No process in place to advise patients of wait time. - Pregnant patients left to wait without any notice or forecasted wait time. - Patients with normal test results also made to wait the entire time only to be handed papers hours later stating normal results and not even able to speak to a doctor (unless you're willing to wait further) - Pregnant patients ensure you do not go alone if possible. Bring lots of snacks & patience. Truly disappointing for a new facility of this nature. Poor process planning, poor patient notification system. Go private if you're insurance covers you or you can afford it.
(Translated) Fantastic. The best care I have ever had. Very human and caring staff. …
Terrible service, big for nothing hospital
I was told that I would get a call for an appointment after my 2 tests were done, 4 months later I called in to find out what was going on. Turns out they erased my number. Also parking is unnecessary expensive, the rates should be lowered by more then half.
This hospital is well equipped and I have met friendly staff and not so friendly staff. I am currently in the waiting room been here since 8pm it's now 5am. I am having chest pains and numbness in my left arm. I waited an hour to see the triage and other hour for nurse for blood then another hour for Dr then did x-rays. I've had great service at the children's hospital next door so I expected the same treatment. They did all the test they are very thorough but the time to get get results or requests for more test is very long. I am compassionate enough to know that they are busy but normally a patient complaining of severe dull chest pain heavy breathing and numbness in the left arm should not be in waiting room waiting all these hours. I take meds that make me real sleepy I'm trying to stay awake. I am regretting coming here. What's the point on having all the equipment and all these rooms just to be breathing hard in front of other ppl. I'm so uncomfortable and worried. I was better off staying home ...
Good service, long waiting time
I called the MUHC Access to information office a couple of times to get my lab results transferred to my doctor. The lady that finally called me back on November 18th 2021, 3pm was absolutely and unnecessarily rude the whole time. She said she did not have time to attend to me (I wonder why she called then) and just mentioned that I should go to the website to fill a request form but refused to provide any more help/information. Then she even hung up on me while I was speaking! I was in total shock. I really hope MUHC looks into this issue because this is not right.
Unfortunately, I'll always remember this place because at a very traumatizing moment of my life I asked for their help and received the most inhumane treatment ever. Don't believe in the stories they tell on their website about being prepared to deal with women facing miscarriage and everything else. Go to the Jewish instead - there you will taken care of (I didn't even have to wait for 30 minutes to talk to the doctor who was warm and sympathetic to me).
Super hospital still means super long wait for a doctor at the E.R. What was the purpose of this hospital already? ?? What a joke!
(Translated) Greatly needed managers. Fortunately, the doctors are competent. Wait times are unacceptable. Appointments are given, but there are delays of several hours and we are not informed. As a result, the waiting rooms are crowded with people. The staff are not understanding, not empathetic and stupid ... not made for management. Great lack of customer support and managerial experience.
For anyone considering going to the ER and is not in life threatening situation. GO ELSEWHERE. I went from waiting 16 hours in the triage area followed by what’s now almost 3 …
My father who is a cancer patient spent 2.5 hours in line for his covid test today. He was third in line with almost a hundred people behind him. He has radiation tomorrow and many people in line also had procedures or operations tomorrow for which they had to take covid tests. Absolutely abysmal service and the staff should be ashamed of themselves.

My experience at the new hospital was good. Excellent new facilities in urology, caring professionals and great supporting staff.
Good hospital, good doctors.
$25 parking. Bland looking hospital. I've been in bar Men's rooms that have more character.
If you want to die then you are at the right place.
Disgusting wait time 17 hours at the emergency. Came in at 3am, they hire students that have zero knowledge and at the end they said (they don’t know how to read the Ultrasound) It is very sad to experience this in Canada.
This is the first time I've had a positive experience at any Montreal hospital. The staff is very kind, caring and understanding. Even during the second wave of the COVID pandemic, they helped my grandmother move along the ER quickly, and provided her with a diagnosis for an issue she has been struggling with for some time. Hats off to all you healthcare workers!
Awesome experience, very fast, amazing staff, great doctors
Don’t waist your time you’ll die waiting
5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️From the front door and back out to the garage everyone was lovely, friendly and helpful! I had blood tests and was in and out within 2 hours so parking was free! I was so nervous at first to find my way around, I had never been there before, and was immediately put at ease by every single person I came across. It was quick and efficient and literally everyone had a smile in their eyes ???? (New masks are given at the door) Lovely experience and super fast as I booked through cliq sante!
Location by metro is convenient. I've had no problems getting appts. The volunteers are helpful. It's a hospital. I feel weird rating it but people are rating it like they rate restaurants. It's terrible. In all my years I've never had bad service in any hospital whether English or French. People need to be human and relax. Anger gets you nowhere.
Be prepared to wait for the whole day.
Use CityParking application if you have trouble finding parking USE CODE: glen to get 8 hours free :) or if you come here often! also visit; fb.me/hpg.mtl --> to have more marketing & business help!
I went in for some Emergency health complications, I would say one of the best modern facility, The Doctors Emergency The specialists doctors The general staff 1st class. It is tax payer's/donors $$ well spent. My sincere gratitude all Doctors, nurses, staff & who donated those who made the decision to build it.
Worst emergency I have ever seen Where the patient is made to wait so much that sometimes the situation becomes so bad that everything ends .
Well situated and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Adult ER is horrible. Mother had to wait 7 hours only to be told we have more than 5 hours left before the Dr. can see her (junior ER resident). Yay! We left to somewhere else.
Good center
We waited 8-9 hours only to be told its better if we go to a clinic and I missed class for that so when I asked a paper only confirming I was there since 12:30 til 9pm the nurse was nice when we asked to talk to the head of nurse she showed complete disrespect towards my dad and being rude about the situation and when we asked why weren't we redirected when she knew my symptoms she says its not her fault if you're responsible for the nurses in your department why can't you make sure they do their jobs right, then tells us we had to wait all night if we want to see a doctor, why didn't they inform us it goes my priority at that extreme like we could've saved 9hours and the triage and receptionist asked if it was my first time I said yes like that you coulve informed be about hours of waiting and priority and like we pay crazy amount of taxes to get this service just nah like we need nurses that are active.
Staffs are very patient and helpful
Professionale Doctor's and staff They work whit passion ????
Unfortunately for me I have MS I always have to go to the ER At Royal Victoria. Over the years I saw pretty much everything there, got misdiagnosed twice. I’m allergic to one medication and they almost administered it while I was sleeping even if I had the red bracelet stating my allergies. When I asked te nurse why she just replied that the don’t have time to read my file and that they are never looking at the allergies bracelet. The doctors just want you out. This time they found my white cell count was up and they said to consult my GP about that. The nursing staff was incredible this time but most of the doctors have an attitude and you basically have to fight to get some care.
The worst experience i have ever had in my life! DO NOT GO THERE!
Great service in general at the exception of the receptionist at DRC 1438 no smile at all she should take the Bling Bling on her fingers and put it on her face. The Doctors & nurses were very professional, courteous, smiling and took the time to explain.
Gave up, after 9 hours in AE waiting to be seen. They are clearly understaffed, especially for a Saturday night. staff are friendly and do their best
The worst hospital for er I came here last time I had to wait for 15 hours before I see a doctor it is not normal. My case was emergency I am pregnant of 4 months I was bleeding and I couldn’t breath properly it was hurting me so much I mean my whole body. Avoid this hospital they don’t treat you well also. Now I know why Quebec is the worst place to live and also hospital the waiting time is not normal.
(Sept 2020) One of Montreal's Covid-19 testing sites is in the underground parking section. Only people with kids under 5 get to do the drive through - everyone else parks and queues. This is fine since it will be free since you won't be waiting long enough for the parking to cost any money. (May 2021) Covid-19 vaccination clinic is excellent. Parking lot is out back in a field on the hill by the commuter rail line. They have a walking scaffold funneling you to the door of the wing where the clinic is setup. If you have mobility issues, tell the security guards as the walkway has stairs at the end. Clinic itself is efficient. It is in an enclosed mall in between two buildings, so very good air circulation. 2-3 data entry stations, up to 6 vaccine administrations stations. Up to 24 post vaccination seats to wait out the 15 safety minutes afterwards.
(Translated) rude ER staff (Original) rude ER staff
Almost 10 hours wait. Im still sitting in the freaking lobby. Im in pain for 10 hours. All the people who came in same time or after me in the interval of 2 hours are all alrrady gone and passed before me. This is frustrating to the core.
I was waiting for my moms surgery for pacemaker for more than 2 hours( the lady said she would be done in 2 hours) and did not notify me if she would be discharged after 2 hours or I would still be waiting. Also, they did not inform any details over the phone either as in what floor the surgery is on and what not. This is unacceptable!!!
Royal Victoria ER for Adults: Everyone in the waiting room took over 12 hours before seeing a doctor. …
What kind of hospital makes people wait sooo long... They created this hospital ... And I have been in the place since morning...10am and it's. Been more then 8 hours. Everyone has been seen and a new badge of people came. People in the triage does not look serious with their work.. The guy didn't doesn't even care abt anything I. Said. He just asked why I am here and told me to wait. Kthey are full of crap here.. I didn't know Royal Victoria was connected to her. If I knew. I wouldn't have entered in. They diagnosed my father with wrong sickness long time ago and for paralyzed patience or people who are very very sick.... they do not clean them properly ..that's what happened to ... My father ...
Entered the hospital at 9:40 for blood text and X-ray; went out by 10:25. Staff are nice and efficient. Te place itself is very clean and tidy.
The best waiting simulator there is.
even when we arrive early we are never seen on time. we have been forced to wait hrs with our newborn son. i sincerely believe this is a ploy to get the full 25 dollars for everyone who has to park there. if i could give this hospital a negative star rating i would.
Get with the program guys - this is a Mega Hospital, now open and already has patients there. I kept being brought to the Jewish General and not the McGill University Health Centre - Glen Site on Maps.
Amazing services
Came here for the COVID-19 vaccine. The nurses were extremely understanding and accommodating, the lines went by quickly and everything was really clean and well organized. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Good, but not perfect.
Always very professional
overworked staff, not enough health care workers....this is purely a govt decision to cut / macerate the budget.....all staff are NOT happy with the patient to nurse ratio, but until everyone gets on board and start writing your MNAs....it's only going to get worse...................CONGRATS to the job you do with such limited resources and staff.
Horrible service.. I have never waited this long at the old Royal Vick E.R... I waited 16h...???? Only for the doctor to say I will have to live with the pain I am feeling until I go see a throat and ear specialist in a couple months... What..??
This place is a total nightmare. Insane wait times and the parking is ridiculously expensive. Wish zero stars was an option.
huge wait to see a dr
I needed two stitches only at urgent care but when I got there I waited 7 hours in the small waiting room with patients that were much more ill than I was. I knew that I was going to be at the bottom of the list but I didn’t think that it would be so long. When I asked if I could come in the next day for stitches the very rude administration girl had so much attitude and basically told me to leave so they could take my $800 for nothing. I was so mad that the nurses didn’t even care that I was in genuine pain when I didn’t even give any attitude back. If you saw how sad the patients were in the waiting room nobody would ever come to such a place. I know the people working are miserable but I was in genuine shock by the lack of compassion. Don’t go to this business and don’t waste your time.
Cut my finger. Literally a few minutes alcohol cleaning is enough. Waiting 5 hours and counting...
Waited 5 hours just to do a blood test and after the blood test, nurse said you will have to wait another 35 mins to 1 hour and we will give you the test result. We waited another 4 hours to get the results. So now tell me the diff between 35-60 mins and 320 mins. Joke service, at-least don't give the wrong info.
Worst ER ever seen and I went to a lot of ERs in Montreal area. The place is such a mess Nobody knows what’s going on, even the doctors. Arrived at 4am when there were only 3 people waiting, took more than 9 hours to perform 2 tests, and still waiting. ????The worst experience ever! ????
good atmosphere not crowded very reasonable pricing.
I volunteer here and it's always very clean, new open concept hospital which definitely looks way better than the other hospitals in Montreal. You can get into the hospital from the underground passage from Vendôme metro station which is super convenient. One thing they need to do is improve the way the hospital is managed because that is a big problem and I can't speak for how doctors and staff treat people.
Amazing place, dont know why it has such a neutral rep.
I spent more then 12 hours watching my boyfriend passing out from pain (throughout the whole body, having a fever, vomiting), 10 of which we spent in the urgency room in this hospital. In the morning my boyfriend felt better (got the ability to talk and walk back) and decided to go to his family doctor instead, because 10 hours spent passing out from pain on a chair in a place where anybody can't or don't want to do anything turned out to be a waste of time. The hospital itself is fine.
these guys do a wonderful job (sometimes you need to wait, but that can be understood) good stuff, they are all the time prepared for your case, kids are all the time willing to return without fear, the new building gives also satisfaction which sometimes can cure diseases..
Went in for a scheduled surgery. Everything went well. Room was very nice and staff super friendly and helpful. Couldn't be happier!
Health ❤️????
Zero star if possible. Waiting time is about 12 hours to see a doctor. They are pretty quick with the triage. You get to see the nurse within 1 hour. However, the rest of the waiting time is just painful. You have no idea when you will be called. If you are not about to die, you better get yourself better with medications from the pharmacy. You end up at the clinic after 12 hours of waiting. Couldn’t they tell you in advance to go to the clinic from the beginning?!?!?? + the staff who calls you by your waiting number at the beginning screams at the number. Which is not fun. Who would like to hear the girl screaming at you number?!
My brother was seen by a DR. A. Robert in the emergency department of the super hospital/the glen, almost two weeks ago. The doctor, performed all tests, urine, blood, ultrasound, CT scan, x-ray, etc. and found nothing, but sent him home with a referal for an MRI scan. LAST WEEK, DOCTOR ROBERT TELEPHONE US PERSONALLY TO ASK AS TO THE CONDITION OF MY BROTHER, WHO HAS RECOVERED SINCE THEN. I HAVE NEVER, REPEAT NEVER, SEEN, OR HEARD OF A DOCTOR CALLING A PATIENT AFTER THE FACT, AND WISHED TO CONGRATULATE HIM PERSONALLY ON HIS TREMENDOUS CARE, PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS, AND TOTAL RESPECT FOR HUMAN BEINGS. THIS IS A DOCTOR THAT WE NEED MORE OF, AND IF IT WAS IN MY POWER, WOULD SEE THAT HE WAS GIVEN AN AWARD FOR HIS UNBELIEVABLE CARE FOR A HUMAN BEING!!! THANK YOU DEEPLY, DOCTOR, FROM BOTH MYSELF AND MY BROTHER, FOR THINKING OF US, ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY!!! If possible, I would like to get his office number or some number I might reach him to thank him personally. Thank You.
Horrifying and surreal experience. Most all the staff and assistant medical professionals were great; polite, open to questions and assistive in providing where more information can be found. Very professional and appreciated. Registration was quick, the waiting room calm, spacious rather than feeling cramped up to others, floor plan as to privacy and efficiency seemingly well done for patient and professional. Visited the center last year for an appointment and still disturbed. Meeting with a specific practitioner, exact opposite of a positive, helpful and healthy experience. The practitioner behavior was shocking, not only as a patient but as a human being; the inverse of what one would want or expect from a responsible and competent health care provider. He was demeaning, unethical and lacking in any professionalism, unable to provide straightforward answers to simple questions or respond in any other manner than attempts at deflection. He blatantly changes the whole center. A practitioner on staff that disregards the health of the patient, ignores their feedback, consistently, denying proper, required medical treatment combined with an inability to regulate his own emotions in so far as lashing out at patients is unacceptable. That is an employee a center should be in anyway compliant in keeping in staff, profoundly devalues what would otherwise seem to be an exemplary facility.
(Translated) Thank you to all the vaccination staff, everyone is super smiling and kind! …
Great doctors, especially in Children's Hospital.
Waited in the emergency for over twenty-four hours. I saw four doctors during that time and I swear the first three were just passing the buck. They did not explain, nor answer questions. They just said I'll be back and never did come back. The nurse just sent me back to waiting room, where I waited another several hours. They sent me for same tests more than once because they didn't think of checking for certain things the first time, sounds kind of incompetent. While waiting you can hear staff including doctors talking among themselves for incomprehensible long periods of time. I don't know, but when I'm at work I have fifteen minutes of break 30 minutes of lunch, and other than that there's no time for anything other than work. Have to give it 2 stars because other hospitals I've visited are even worse.
AVOID AVOID AVOID, terrible service, worst judgemental nurses I've ever encountered in my life! MY NURSE TRIED TO DIAGNOSE ME !!!(ILLEGAL) Was told id have a call in 48 hours after leaving , 5 days later still in pain and no call. il most likely be back to waiting in a ER room with celiac vomiting almost dying from dehydration. GO TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL ! IL be make a complaint about these nurses. UNHUMANE disgusting!!!!!!!
Bad service, doctors come late
0 stars.... Very poorly managed, 1 doctor in the emergency room on a Saturday night.... I'm appalled !!!!!
I went in for a strange cough and I was told I had lung cancer. Thought I was on WebMD for a minute. Just kidding - service is great. '
I had the appointment with Dr D.Goltzman for Juin28, but the appointment was canceled.I received the next app. only for November 29. But I have cancer and take femara, which removed Ca from the bones. So I have advanced osteoporosis and I need the special medication, for which I do not prescription. May be is it possible to have the app. earlier, than in the end of November? Natalia Ianopolskaia
Everytime I come here over the since it was built I can't help but wonder at the fact "that they had an empty field and this is what they came up with?" How is everything so cramped? How does it all feel like it was jammed into a very tiny space? The staff here is great even though they seem (admit to being) perpetually understaffed. The ER waiting room however is ridiculously cramped and poorly designed that wheelchairs collide, gurneys are lined up around the corner and waiting patients stand wherever they can find space. This was further complicated on my last visit when the odour from 2 individuals sent people scrambling from the seating area. There is also a surprising lack of outlets for charging phones given the recent construction of the hospital and the fact that phone batteries run down faster since the ER is underground. Bring snacks and drinks because they overcharge in vending machines and shops. Plan for 12 hour wait times.
Good luck trying to get an appointment with a referral from a specialist. I sent my referral form in by email as directed by the website... no response. Two weeks later, I sent it again... again no response. Tried calling the appointment centre, they told me they that's normal as they have a backlog of over THREE MONTHS worth of emails to open (they're going through emails from June, it's currently September)! Apparently the only way to get an appointment is to fax the specific clinic directly. Who has a fax machine in 2019?! You might as well tell me to send it by pigeon.
This has to be the worst hospital in Montreal the doctors are extremely inexperience and have no empathy towards their clientele. We (the patients) constantly have to do the follow up ourselves the staff is unorganized and its easily detected due to the manners and unprofessionalism. All this reconstruction of a new hospital filled with doctors that are quite unqualified...waste of taxe payers money and waste of our time when we go there. All in all very disapointedd in Royal Vic that used to be known as a great hospital!
-This is a review for the emergency room and not the hospital itself as i know for a fact the doctors and the rest of the hospital are plenty qualified.~~ I will be honest, the children's hospital is amazing. But you cross a hallway to the emergency room for Adult and you enter hell. Not only was the triage disorganized, the people were rude except for a few good nurses who are trying their best. The register admin girl literally accepted a patient's friend phone number. My mom waited 8 hours and got NO BLOOD WORK DONE. They have 63 rooms but one emergentologist. They were not overwhelmed because of the high traffic of patient but from a lack of organization and most likely personal. No one can blame this on a pandemic when the system has been broken from time. This is a clear example of great potential being mismanaged. I brought my Mother there because i had such a great experience for my child at the children's. This was a waste of time. The patients in the waiting room knew more about each other than the nurses present. We had to help a man adjust his gurney so he could sit up. This is how left to ourselves we were left. All feeling hopeless and i have a feeling we were not the only ones who had been coming for care and being uncared for.
Am set to give birth at the RVH in about a month and so far I've had to go in a couple times. Generally positive experience. Ultrasound waits can be extremely long though. However, I am trying to find information from the birthing centre, such as if I can book a visit, what should I bring, are the rooms private or shared? But there is NO website I can find! Rather confusing and frustrating for soon to be new parents! *note to the MUHC reply: the first link doesn't work and the second one doesn't have specific information for the birthing centre, e.g. do I need to bring diapers for the baby? Are pads provided for me? What about if I need to bring food etc? I have given birth at LaSalle hospital in the past and all the information was clearly provided on the website. Still not sure where to find it for the RVH...
The staff at the MUHC is overworked, many budget cuts coming from the gov. Emergency waiting times are long if you go during the evening, so go very early in the morning if possible. In general, the staff is hardworking and friendly, of course you will find exceptions. And yes, the parking is $25, that's the norm. They have discounted prices for frequent visitors!
(Translated) Very good children's hospital. (Original) …
Brand new elevators already out of service. Blood test center closed by the time I arrived at 2:45pm... Staff makes patients do the courier work for health care.
Invest in doctors not statues and decorations
(Translated) Great hospital, my son often has to go there, to the emergency room or in specialist follow-up and really, very good service, human, very attentive, from the attendant to the doctor. And even in times of COVID-19. …
The McGill University Health Centre is a wonderfully integrated complex of clinics, which span from biomedical research to paediatric haematology. There are a city of people employed to run this massive machine. If Quebec agreed to better fund Sante Quebec, many facilities at MUHC would be virtually obselete thanks to improved PREVENTATIVE health care. That said, MUHC is a confluence of a motley assortment of teaching hospitals. People work hard here but it is the unseen workers, for example the buildings and maintainence staff, who probably work the hardest for the least reward.
The clinic, the reception, nurses and my dr ( Dr Siriki) are all nice and organized.
If I could, I would have given it 0 star. Why? how they handled the scheduling of appointments is bad to begin with. So far I have had 4 appointments with them, and out of 4, 3 of them got jinxed. It takes me an hour to get there, not only that, it cost $$$ for parking, whether be it on the streets or at their parking lot. Those three times I went there, I gave them my hospital card as per usual, and then each time they told me I got appointed to the next day at another time. Are you serious? I didn't come all the way here just to hear that and to waste two hours of driving in total. If you were to change the schedule up, shouldn't you at least notify the patient? For those out there that have appointments with the hospital, I suggest you to call them to confirm your date or else they won't bother calling you back letting you know that they changed it up. Really unprofessional of them. I was seriously pissed that this happened to me 3 times.
I am writing this review hoping that the discussion following would reach the leadership (who probably are privileged not to experience the waiting room scenario at ER) and open their eyes towards the most gruesome experience for a normal family person living in Montréal. Emergency room are the last resort people rely for immediate medical needs. Yet the waiting time here is nothing less than 8 or 12 hrs on normal days. I am sitting here with my 1 year old daughter, hoping to see a doctor for fever. From my past experience I know ER in Montréal is terrible with time management and should not be attempted unless all other options are out. For a commoner what else is the option especially on a public holiday. Health care- the main item in the rubrics for measuring livable condition in a city- is terrible and terrifying in Montréal. I have been running for help, knocking all the possible contacts I have to figure out what’s wrong with my kid, yields no answer other than a sober good luck wish. End up in ER of MUHC last night, waiting time was 14 hrs…stepped out for breakfast and returned, the slot is gone only to restart the waiting afresh. Initially told the new waiting time is 6 hrs, it kept moving every time when the initial time was reached. Totally frustrated with such a disorganized, and punishing hospital experience. When will we discuss this issue if not at the election time. Hope the leadership understand the helplessness of the institution they have created. Calls for intelligence in organizing and managing ER.
No Vegan meals! Admitted to Royal Victoria, requested vegan meal to avoid meat and animal products. I was told not available and put on vegetarian meal by technician. Tuna lasagna was served with vegetarian meal written on the receipt. Since when is seafood fish a veg meal? Its 2019, vegan is now mainstream. Even airlines carry vegan meals since a long time. I hope the hospital will see this message and provide vegan food going forward. But my stay was good except for the above hiccup.
i was 20m late because we couldnt find the employee parking! thank god my parents work at mcgill and get free parking because we would be paying 30$ if not. so 20 m late, 3 and a half hours in a waiting room. for over an hour, all the rooms were open and empty and no one was called.i spoke to someone and they told me because i was late i would normally pass after everyone but they would pass me after 2 people. they passed everyone, even people that were over 1h late (they told everyone in the waiting room how late they were) before me. then, i waited in the test room for 30m waiting on a tech. great service mcgill...i miss the old childreens hospital
Although the library should be accessible to students once they have identified themselves as such, the librarian Benedicte Nache has implemented an intolerant policy that does not let student in the library if you are not wearing your ID card at all time. I was prohibited to access the library, because my ID card pin was broken and I had it in my wallet instead of on my coat, even though I was wearing a white coat that had my affiliation written on it. Clearly, staff that should be helpful and advocate for knowledge sharing are using their power as an excuse for authoritarianism.
MUHC Glen is used as a site for Covid vaccine. Parking is free with shuttle bus. Or if you prefer, just walk out the outdoor parking site cross a street and go into the tall white building in front. The operation is very organized with 3 steps, check in, vaccination service and observation service after injection. By the way, the shuttle bus service is a ride for two minutes. Not a bad idea at all to have a walk.
It’s unbelievable, you can come to emergency with heart pain and wait for hours and hours, finally I just decided to leave cause I couldn’t seat there longer… quebec health system is totally broken, pathetic and hopeless… It’s easier to die rather than to get help…
Very attentive and knowledgeable staff.
The slowest emergency services you can ever experience in a hospital and the worst attitude you can encounter from the triage nurses
Very good experience, service was fast and my appointment were right on time
I have been a patient here on and off for 5 years now for routine blood tests, appointments and otherwise and the staff are amazing. From admin to the nurses to the physicians. Nothing is perfect there has been a few stuff that made my eyebrows raise here and there but I mean that’s not the hospitals fault that’s just what you get when you live in a country with socialized medicine. It’s weird to say this about a hospital but I actually like going there. I can’t leave out how fortunate I am to have a facility like this that caters to the anglophone community.
absolutely the worst. only option for parking is paid parking at outrages pricing. they give you the first 30 mins for free only. they cant keep appointment times yet expect you to pay the overages for parking due to the lack of efficiency of its staff. the whole parking thing is just a complete scam!!! not to mention when i was there i was sick, i was sick and spitting outside and this rude nurse told me to " stop spitting its gross" Staff is rude, parking is a scam and half the staff dont know anything about anything. they are more than happy to waste resources and time so they dont have to look into anything for you. SUPER HOSPITAL MY ASS!
New building.
Care is good. Lots of volunteers there to help you get your way around the hospital. Depending which department you go to, standards can be different
A 1:15 pm and it's now 2:15 and still waiting. Nice, and during a pandemic.
(Translated) Much attention and good information. (Original) Mucha atención y buena información.
The staff and care are EXTRAODINARY, Doctors, Nurses, Aides etc!!!!!!! Absolutely EVERYONE is polite, kind, introduce themselves, explain where you are going, what they will be doing etc Absolutely 1st class The Emergency team are,all that too but far too many patioments, tmfar too few staff it was at 200% capacity when I was ther
The doctors, nurses, staff are just the best!! When you can make the parents of a 16 month old at ease, after a month of hell, doesn't get much better. Thank you so much to Dr.Ahmed and the teams that have helped so much! We are so so grateful!!
I GOT A COVID TEST. A LONG LINEUP, BUT EFFICIENTLY PROCESSED. THE PERSON ON THE PHONE SAID I WOULD BE CALLED THAT AFTERNOON FOR SURGERY TIMES. I WAS CALLED, AND WAS TOLD BE AT THE ROYAL VIC. BY 0630 HRS NEXT DAY, AND SURGERY AROUND 0730 HRS AND HOME BY JUST AFTER 1200 HRS. I CAN'T GIVE 5 STARS, BECAUSE OF THE PARKING
I went into the emergency sector and I was treated for several weeks of headaches. They took quick actions, explained every detail of what type of tests they will be doing and followed up with all results and confirming all info before being released. Thank you to all the nurses, resident doctors and doctors that took care of me. For those that waited long hours, this location is in Montreal, you can only imagine how many patients they can handle. You have the option of booking online for the clinic.
The staff are truly doing the best they can however the emergency wait times( 8 hrs) are ludicrous. The afternoon shift had but 2 nurses for the entire department. I was located in a room (20)with no assistance buzzer and was admonished for pressing the only visible buzzer after attempting for over 35 minutes to get assistance for my iv which was flowing blood outwards all the while the airbubble alarm was sounding. Presently awaiting the specialist I was told by overnight doctor would be right in...8 hrs ago..
Very expensive parking
ER staff are nice and polite, but this ER is rediculously slow! One doctor on duty. If 15 patients were taken care of over 8 hours I have been dhete so far I would be surprised. I was told I would need an xray due to blood work and after an additional 3 hours still waiting, but was told it should speed up as patients get to tired and give up. Is that how you run and ER service so slow the patients give up? After being treated and bright back to the walk in clinic two days later my rating went up service is 5 * but the organization and delays at the ER still unacceptable and almost 3rd world like the nurses doctors and staff are top but something needs to be done to improve the ER time from Triage and seeing a doctor is so far from acceptable it should have a -5 rating
Went there twice, had a good experience both times. Amazing service
The personnel is great, which is why I'm giving 2 stars in stead of the minimum. Everything is just horrible about this building: the architecture, the isolated sections renamed after the old hospital sites that makes it hard to find your way, no cellular reception anywhere, expensive parking (plus no way to find your car on the way back, got stuck in emergency staircases twice trying switch floors, forcing me back outside), but most of all: the hospital takes more patients than they can handle. Line ups at the blood lab are hours long and if you need to change an appointment, they give you a date 11 months from now (while I need a check up twice per year). Avoid this place like the plague! (Pun intended.)
Very bad service
The employees of the day hospital were very welcoming
The worst. Unprofessional, rude Don't go to the emergency. Got even misdiagnosed once, most doctors don't even care.
Worst, worst, Worst service, no one cares in what situation you are, long long long waiting hours.
(Translated) Nice hospital, spacious, bright but clogged waiting room, …
The emergency room is jokingly the playground for a bunch of resident students. Unless the so-called doctors were having a party, they googled online for answers to see if you actually had a bacteria or virus cold - without any test. When I pointed out it’s obviously a bacteria for which reason we came for antibiotics, he told us in either way THINGS WILL HEAL THEMSELVES and sent a 39C patient home without any paper. I say these residents do not deserve any job as we will in any event survive ourselves.
My friend had an appointment their this morning we got their only to find out the doctor was not their today. Never got a call to let us no about this. Drove in from the West Island paid $24 for parking only to go home. Not happy at all with this hospital.
UPDATE: The ER was so slow but I would like to commend the nurse and doctors who helped us. They were nice! …
Worst emergency..... 10 to 12 hours waiting
What a colodioscope of professionals I am very lucky ,wait we Montrealers ,Quebecers are very fortunate To have such a beautiful hospital And i am giving a fist pump to Dr Ian Marcos And Dr George Thanassoulis and all the other profesionals here from the young student volunteer ,nurses, residents and all who make this place function Cheers to you all
Amazing hospital to give birth at and be followed for prenatal care.
impossible to take rdv on the phone, took one by mail and they took a month just to answer and give me a rdv for 2 month later when i said in the email that it was a urgent urologic problem. this is just crazy
Clean Hospital and friendly employees. Doctors are great and they take their time and explain everything. This Hospital is 100% bilingual.
(Translated) I am very happy to have had tests at this very clean and welcoming staff hospital. …
Worst hospital ever, now I understand why Canada has so few people cuz when ur sick there’s no doctors to see. I waited 8hrs in the emergency and was told we don’t have a doctor for you during the holiday season lol, what a joke!!!! Don’t come here, or if you wanna come here go to the morgues directly I’m telling you
Ridiculous wait times, rude staff (although there were a few.exceptions) ambulances come here bringing in more and more people, all left in the hall on beds. In a word, terribly understaffed and over capacity. Avoid at all costs.
That was the worst hospital I ever gone
Triage nurses are really bad here. I waited 11 hours with appendicitis. Once the doctor heard about it, he was appalled that I waited that long. I needed surgery and I waited 11 hours.
15 hours of waiting with older age person. High sugar and high blood pressure. Came here with high expectations. Now I think verdun hospital is way better then here. No service, no care, no respect. All show nothing else!!!! On top after calling us to room. They made us wait 2 hours before doctor comes to smile in our face! I don’t understand what he found funny for making us wait for 18 hours...
(Translated) The hospital is in good condition, the service attitude is patient, the medical staff are very concerned about the patients …
Worst experience in my life, made me come at 8:45 took 1 hour to make a hospital card than didnt even take me for my appointment. Mind you the whole time my vehicle was parked downstairs. They charge for parking. Fasted the whole night. Why didn't anyone mention for me to come ahead of time? Wasted time ✅ Money spent ✅ No food consumed ✅ Who will reimburse me for all this the hospital ? But hey as long as they care for patients everything is okay...
(Translated) Excellent hospitality, competent and human nursing staff with great empathy. I had open heart surgery to replace the mitral valve, as well as bypass surgery. I was hospitalized for a total of 14 days. My big …
Lots of volunteers there to help you get your way around the hospital. This is the best Hospital around Montreal I went there two time and each time they are serving me very very good. They took quick actions, explained every detail of what type of tests they will be doing and followed up with all results and confirming all info before being released. Thank you to all the nurses, resident doctors and doctors that took care of me.
Over the weekend I had my first Covid vaccine shot here at the Glen and I want to say how well everything went. All the staff were so nice and professional especially my nurse Angelica V. Thank you all!
Went there for the COVID vaccine. The medical staff was simply amazing but the security personnel were quite rude and unhelpful.
Worst experience ever, when my wife was hospitalized there. Doctors from different departments cared only for one thing - to prove, that my wife's medical condition was not their department problem, but others'. Absolutely incompetent staff.
Best service friendly staff.
I just want to take the time to thank the nurses and doctors at Glen hospital for their work and dedication. Not all hospital have at the core the wellness of the patient but Glen hospital really re-establish my faith in Healthcare in Montreal. We can see that they are over worked and understaffed but they do the most to help eachother and others. Thank you for helping my mom fight the pneumonia because of covid. She's getting better everyday and I thank God that she's under good care at the Glen.
Very incompetent staff,I said to the “doctor” that my daughter is resistant to Amoxicillin but he prescribed the same antibiotic.Very bad experience
Worst experience ever. Waited in the emergency for 15hrs after being brought by ambulance before anyone came to check up on me. Then to be only told that I will be transferee to another hospital Cause I'm not a patient there. Everyone was rude and impolite. I had to beg to see a doctor
Nurses were inexperienced. It was not the same like the hospital care the Royal Victoria was. To more easy to understand in one word I'd say out of 10 is barely 2. Doctors was good, O.T. was good. They need at least good nurses to make the hospital great reputation. Finally I'd like to say take money for room and please give at least good care and service for that. The policies of the hospital is garbage. Parking help desk were no assistant at all. I put message on Tuesday for one week pass but they replied me on Thursday. In the meantime I did my pass in the parking lot machine. Even when they replied they didn't apologize for their inability. On top of that the last day was so painful ????????????
Can't complain
Very friendly and experienced staff, short waiting times (for Urgency and Test center), efficient. Could use someone at the door or bigger signes where information is, but else than that, great hospital.
Had my daughter in the ER for vomiting and bad cough. After 9 hours of waiting, during those hours, two more episodes of vomiting which I told the nurse as I asked for some sort of gravol for her, they said she needed to wait for a doctor. Once my little one was begging to go home (after 9 hours) the nurse said it would be another 8-9 hours to see a doctor for her. Insane. The hospital/ province needs to fix this issue.
Over 1.5 hours wait with dad, a cancer patient, medical clinics are horrible.
Not too clean. Bathrooms on the second floor - C03179 are disgusting. Several patients reported them late morning. 4:18 pm and no one has cleaned them. Lower level br just as bad.
Too expensive parking
Nice hospital although the waiting times are quite long, but you can rest while waiting your family!!!!!!!? .
Needed FIRST to make my hospital card. Good luck finding the 20'×8' office where they make it. You need TO ASK. And I got personnel that had no idea where that is. I missed my appointment because it took me half an hour to find it, then another half to get the card. Because... ONLY ONE PERSON MAKING THE CARDS... Why is it to hard to put some %×€÷_÷! signs?
Receptionist on gynecology side who is young woman n has long face with strong voice. She seems she is not happy what she does. She doesnt respect patients. Insulting me in front of lots of patients. Unbelievable!! Ignoring new doc in front of me .. the doc was amazing to me.. i dont know how long the receptionist worked for the hospital. Hope learn how to communicate with people...doesnt explain about anything.. so someone who is first time like me .. opps watch out .... it was big disappointment at first impression..
Waited 5 hours and I still did not no how long I had to wait so ask for paper and I left and also had to pay 25' dollars parking that was on June 3 9.30 am
Fantastic hospital!! I have a heart specialist at the heart function clinic and I have a lung specialist at the chest hospital centre and both are super doctors who ,without their intervention I would not be writing this review due to dying!!! Remember one thing, doctors are humans also, who can make mistakes.....don't you?
By far the worst ER I have ever been to in my entire life. They can say all they want that there is a priority list, however, there wasn't a rush of walk-ins that came in. I was number 93 when I came in at 3:30pm and they reached 115 at 11pm. Clearly you can see that the rate of people walking into the ER is going at a slow and steady pace. I've been waiting for 6 hours for a doctor. How is this even possible? Don't even get me started on the lack of covid-19 protocols. As the other comments suggest, if you are not in a dying situation, GO TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL. Even if it's one hour away, go anywhere else but here.
This was the worst hospital experience that I have ever had. We paid $720.00 up front and then waited over 6 hours to then be told it may be another 5 more hours. The people were rude and did not care . They were unprofessional and incompetent. People were sleeping all over the waiting room because they had waited so long. I am a nurse in Pa. and the care here was unacceptable. We could have driven to the U.S. , been treated, and returned to Montreal in the time we waited to be seen. Montreal was beautiful, but this was a very negative experience. I have never been more thankful for the health care we have in the United States.
Worst Hospital ever! Avoid at all costs!!! 48 hours+ in the emergency room waiting on a chair, still dont know what is wrong with my husband!! I dont understand, how did they become doctors? If i could give a 0 i would!!
This is the single most abysmal experience I've ever had at a hospital, an absolute failure of the Canadian healthcare system; I hope the entire complex burns down to the ground or gets demolished by the government. I had sudden severe, sharp chest pains, and after waiting for a few hours, I had an EKG and blood test done. After a total waiting time of more than 7 hours, a nurse told me that the wait times were too long, and I had the choice of either waiting for a few more hours or having a phone appointment the next day. The nurse implied that waiting for a few more hours would be unwise, hence I opted for the phone appointment, assuming a doctor would simply call to tell me my results. She told me the reception would call me "in two minutes" (her own words), so I waited ... and waited ... for almost hour. Nothing. I went up to them and it seemed they had forgotten about me or never gotten the memo. God knows how many hours I'd be sitting there if I hadn't gone up to ask them. I told them I had a cannula still inserted in my vein, that I'd been sitting with for hours, to which they told me to wait for a nurse. I waited for an eternity — all of the nurses were too busy with patients and were ignoring me when I tried to catch their attention. I was exhausted at this point — waiting this long to simply have my cannula removed (a two second process), which lord knows why they left it there for hours in the first place, only to send me home, so I left and had to remove it myself (traumatizing may I add, for someone with a deadly phobia of needles, and naturally unsanitary). The next morning, I get an incredibly helpful phone call; the doctor who has zero idea about my results tells me absolutely nothing useful other than "yeah you have to go to the hospital" after hearing I have chest pains. Brilliant, that's certainly not why I spent 7 hours waiting the previous day at a hospital. Soon as I come to the hospital, my visit being delayed because of the phone appointment (which I foolishly assumed would be helpful), the lovely nurse asks me: "Why did you leave yesterday? You're gonna have to redo all the tests again today." Why did I leave you ask? ???? Certainly not because that's what the other nurse advised me to do. I was never informed that I would have to do all the tests again and that the phone "appointment" would provide nothing useful. I ask for my EKG and blood tests results, to which she replies that I must wait for a doctor to do the tests again since "my condition might be different today", and then the doctor will inform me of the new results. I insistently request my test results again, at which point she ushers me out of the triage room to the waiting room and tells me to wait for the doctor, refusing to tell me how to access my own medical information. Why on earth did they schedule a useless phone appointment that wasted my time when they could have just told me to come in early the next morning to do the tests again? Given that yesterday they sent me home after waiting for more than 7 hours, and I came today much later as the phone appointment happened in the late morning, there was no conceivable way they would do the same tests and tell me my results in under 10 hours judging by the number of patients they had. There was zero point in staying, as I was almost certain they would send me home again. So, after multiple hours of waiting for two days, I was leaving with absolutely no information whatsoever concerning my health, and certainly no treatment either, and still sharp pains in my chest. What an absolute embarassment of space that dares call itself "hospital". Would have been more useful if there were a garbage disposal at its place. PS: I cannot stress this enough; go to the Jewish clinic and don't waste any of your time here. The hospital and staff are horrendous enough to make a healthy person sick.
I was a patient at the hospital with severe covid symptoms, from the moment I arrived , I knew I was in good hands. Thank you to the doctor's, nurses and all the staff . This is a great hospital !
Wow very surprised and impressed. Friendly smiling staff who all spoke english, fast courteous service, very clean. Overall great experience!
I have no complaints, the staff were fantastic. They saved my wife life. Blame the government for not enough staff. Stop the whining! Go to the U.S. if you're not happy.
If I could give this place a zero I would. The emergency doctor was rude and mean to my elderly mom. He had no bed side manner. Patients are treated poorly especially if they are elderly. She went in for a bladder infection and never came out.
Great for tests but horrible as an emergency option. You might be there for 12+ hours.
Their incompetence is simply beyond my imagination — but seriously, it actually is. So I arrived at ER transferred from another hospital, looking forward to speaking to my surgeon. In the morning, the nurse didn’t let me go but insisted that I should trust the system and the surgeon would come down to speak with me. I appreciate her responsibility, but nah, the system is simply incompetent. I eventually was not able to see the surgeon at all. As a result, a very important and urgent surgery was significantly delayed. I am a proud mcgill student, but let’s be honest, this place is just disappointing.
(Translated) Worst experience of life emergencies, to be avoided. The staff are rude and mean. All the parents in the emergency room were disgusted. We could not be taken care of after hours of waiting and will have to fall back on another hospital tomorrow morning. (Original) Pire expérience des urgences de note vie, à éviter. Le personnel est désagréable et mesquin. Tous les parents présents à l urgence étaient dégoûtés. HELLO EMERGENCY REALLY BAD NURSE SAY THING NEVER DO ANYTHING NOT ORGANIZED AT ALL
I had my kidney transplant in Glen.I had so many health issues in my life including cancer. All in different provinces in canada. But Glen was the best.Doctors esecially nurses are so nice and caring.Food was good..i had a peaceful stay.
18 years I go to Royal Vic or Montreal General Hospital, always received excellent service!!! Amazing doctors and very professional stuff!!! Thanks to you all for excellence, patience and human approach❤️
Worst hospital ever, even a star is too much!!! The worst old birocracy in the newest building! My wife never waited less than 3 hours at all appointments she had during her pregnancy, even when she took them in the early morning, thinking she will be first in the list but surprisingly there were at list three persons we spoke to, at the same hour. And like always, there's only one specialist!!! Plus, you pay 25$ for the parking!
Horrible hospital staff inattentive and lazy, been in a hallway for 4 days now. Would give it a zero if I could! Veterinary hospitals are better!
Place is new, waiting times can be quite long. Doctor and nurse I had were very pleasant and took time to explain. Also went in for blood work, list was full, but the lady accepted to take me in anyways. Thanks to all of you!
It is not normal that one should have to wait over 13 hours in the emergency ward just to be seen by a Doctor. Management should really do something about it rather than let people in need of help vegetate for hours on end...
When a daily routine appointments mixed-up and not organized, you could know how organized they are. Especially the reception of (Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound)
What an embarrassment of an establishment. Whoever runs this place should resign out of shame. My mother has been there for 30 hours, still in the waiting area. Took 16 hours just to get blood test results back. I actually don't think there is more than one doctor in this place. After 30 hours, dr finally came by and said she should get a CT scan, asked the nurse how long, she said minimum another 8 hours, and that too in the waiting area. Would be 2 full days of sitting on a chair in the waiting area. Most people are just leaving without seeing anyone. Absolutely embossing. Should be ashamed of yourselves Glen....
I’m writing this email because my father and I have been sitting in the emergency for 11 hrs now and still haven’t seen a Dr, 10/20/19 23:00. My fathers knee is swollen (can’t walk) and he has a pain level of 10/10. He has prostate cancer for the 2nd time, bone cancer and is 80 yrs old .....yet they have passed much younger patients with colds or a stomach virus before him. If this is a normal occurrence then the system is quite messed up. As a society we should be taking care of our elderly, I’m sure they have contributed enough to society.
save yourself the time and dont go here, 12 hours and still waiting , rather die then come back here
I plant to file a complaint with the Ombudsman for the inhumane treatment that I received at the Emergency. Workers there should be ashamed of themselves.
Got my Covid vaccination yesterday morning at the GLEN . It was the smoothest friendliest and most professional experience I have ever had in a hospital. From the shuttle parking to security guards, check in and nurse..all excellent. My appointment was for 10:10. Got there at five to ten, whisked to atrium, check in, five minutes in line. Was done by 10:25 and booked 2nd shot for July. Well done MUHC!
Big clean place
Security is extremely rude. I was lost and no idea where I was. I was treated like a dog and yelled at repeatedly. Not a great experience for someone who does not know their way around the hospital.
1st time and ladt time im coming here ????... I prefer to bleed to death than wait another 6+ in emergency anndd finding out in last in the list and people who passing in front of me came after me... Way to go :) Dont come to this hospital if your doctor didnt sent you here and dont have an appoitment because if you're not dying then you'll waiiit very long. Anyways a friend told me to come here...big mistake -_-. Start with clinic sans rendez vous and ask a Dr give you an appoitment to come to this hospital and you'll avoid waiting over 6hours for something that can be checked real quick ????????
So many people in the waiting room considering Covid and all. The wait is over 6 hours. They are way to slow with everything they do it’s a joke. Never going back.
you must never go down there, they are not competent, they have to hustle specialist without the veriffier
(Translated) Super quality (Original) Super qualité
Longest waiting time. 10 to 12 hours. I waited 90 minutes for the triage alone. So frustrating that this is what we pay for. Nothing against nurses and doctors, I know they work hard.
nurse at triage basically told me i had nothing to do here, and she was not listening to anything i had to say,
Bad service .. at night they have only 1 doctor for kids in big hospital..
Terrible. Nurses at triage do not take you seriously. Sent us to a clinic 10 minutes away. Arrived there only to be turned down as they no longer took patients for the day. Came back here. Have been waiting 7 hours and still have not seen a doctor. Worst ER ever.
they saved my father i will forever be gratefull to your amazing staff thank you
The view from my room.
You should really correct the process of creating hospital cards. It's 2021 and you call me, Mr. ( My ex wife's name). When I tell the registration clerk, I get told, " that's how we do them." I'm not my ex wife. At least have the decency to address me by my correct name when you call me on the phone for registration.
Horribly complex and hard to find your way in this place, with 3 different basements and no clear directions...
They often only have 1 doctor. The trick is to bring your own chair. The security guards do not allow you to stand in the hallway as they will constantly warn you that you’re blocking the way. You may end up sitting on the floor...while you wait for 10hrs to see a doctor. Was great to be humbled and reminded about what it must be like to be sick in a third world country.
The system and organization is terrible, I was there for an emergency case, they took me LP test which ruined my life for 2 weeks, inexperienced doctors, not enough persons who really care... now I'm waiting two days, all day, at hospital just for a doctor to do a Blood pack.. terrible.. terrible...
Terrible service. They treat people with known chronic illneses (medical conditions since childhood) the worst. The emergency doctors are condescending and I'm convinced, they got their medical licence from a Kinder Surprise. There's no empathy, no tact, no actual medical care.
I originally had cancer treatment done here after transferring through a referral from the south shore. The team was a great, friendly and professional. Scheduling things were quick and easy. I then had to return due to complications for an open major surgery of which I'm on night 5 of and seriously every one from support staff, the nurses, and doctors are absolutely amazing in every regards for what they do. Seeing them do what they do day in and out, from morning to night really changes your perspectives of how things work in a hospital and it goes very fast. The nurses especially are just so supportive of your needs and wants even with the constant rush of work they have to do on their long shifts. They are always busy but they once come by for your check up or when you ring them, communicate clearly what you need and how you feel and they will help you no matter what. These men and women are all the greatest people on earth for what they do and some of them I'll remember forever even after going through this crazy, tough journey of mine. I also was provided a nice private room during my stay, nice view towards the south shore on the seventh floor, big tv, private bathroom, lots of space to move around and privacy curtains too . House cleaning comes every day, they keep everything very clean I've noticed. 2hrs free parking too for everyone, some great cafeteria options downstairs especially satay brothers.
My sister has many visits to this site. Although I got a bit lost outside by car... it's ideally located and easily accessible via Metro, or bus And 1st 2 hours is free to park.. then 6$... so there you have it!!
(Translated) Worst hospital I've ever been to !!!!! I've been waiting in the emergency room for 8 hours and still no news !! Nurses are absolutely stupid, treat people like cattle and have no empathy. A lady cried out in pain for an hour before having painkiller administered. What a horrible, excruciating experience. I am ashamed of our health care system.
The worst E.R. I've ever seen, not because of the doctors and nurses themselves but because of the gross negligence of upper management in only having 1 doctor present, for a supposedly super hospital in the Montreal area, and this occurred 3 times on 3 separate visits (I'll describe this further, lower in my post), leading to dangerous E.R. conditions. If you however go there to the specialized clinics from doctor referrals, the service and quality of the doctors and nurses is exceptionally excellent in those regards, but as for the E.R., forget about even going there. 1st visit on a Friday night, ended up pulling in to the E.R. at around 10pm or so because of severe, sharp intestinal pain followed by a burning sensation. Went in all shaking with pain, took a number and got triaged by a nurse within a couple of minutes, found out that there was only 1 doctor that night and a E.R. that was packed with people. Waited about 2 hours to see a doctor. They did blood tests and I waited for the doctor to come see me again after 6 hours. Total time spent there: 8hrs (you are lucky if it ends up only being 8hrs from what you'll see in my next 2 visits that I'll mention). 2nd visit on a Thursday, ended up leaving work because I was having difficulty breathing with some pain and tightness in my chest, checked into the E.R. at 2pm, got triaged within a couple of mins by this male nurse. Same nurse maybe 1 hour later calls me to take blood tests and when he inserted the needle to draw blood and then taped it, I knew something was wrong as it was hurting abnormally more so than normally. I waited 30 mins and couldn't take the pain anymore and went to go see the nurse to see if he could take out the needle but he said he couldn't and told me to wait about 10 mins in front to do an EKG test. Waited 1 hour and he never came back and on top of that I saw him pack his stuff and grab his coat as he finished for the day. Went to go speak to another nurse to try to get the hurting needle out but she refused even though I told her that it was hurting alot and that I was going to rip it out myself. Finally spoke to a 3rd nurse who took it out for me and the pain was gone right away as soon as she took it out (it's been 3 days since then and my arm has a huge bruised spot of around 15cmX10cm as apparently the male nurse, from what another nurse on my 3rd visit was telling me, was probably an amateur and blew the vein). Waited for the doctor but at this point it was another doctor on duty as the first one left, did an EKG and waited for doctor to speak to me again. Again throuout the night there was only ever at once 1 active doctor and that night the E.R. was half empty and later that night there was maybe about 10 people waiting. Total time spent there: 15hrs!!! There were 3 other people that were also talking to each other saying that it would be their last time ever going to this E.R. as well! 3rd visit on a Sunday night at midnight (Saturday to Sunday), ended up going to the E.R. again, not many people were there again, again E.R. with only 1 doctor. Left at 9am, Total time spent: 9hrs. For a supper hospital this E.R. is all for show, big hospital but no doctors as there will only be one active doctor working in an E.R. for a super hospital in Montreal, that's crazy! The management of the E.R. is crazy and this causes great risks. It's apparent that all the nurses and 1 doctor do as much as they possibly can with constantly triaging people coming in, ambulances coming in, as well as dealing with people that they have staying in the E.R. Ward, it's easy to see that the management is pushing it's people absolutely to the maxmimum edge. My advice is stay far away from this place for the E.R.
Amazing hospital and team!
Good
Horrible hospital Very very rude staff
Nice & clean hospital. Waiting time is very long. Parking is very expensive.
The worst emergency I've ever been to. The doctor was unprofessional in behaviour and wasn't well educated. Spent 6 hrs and 25$ for parking for nothing; disgusting and frustrating; nobody understands you.
This is the best Hospital around Montreal I went there two time and each time they are serving me very very good.
Got in at 5pm, waited until 4:30am to see a doctor. I asked why I was waiting so long. They said they called my name twice around 1:30am but I never heard anything... regardless, totally unbelievable how long one must wait to get the simplest medical attention. Never coming here again.
Treated like a king. Amazing staff and facilities. Felt like I was on a vacation trip.
wonderful doctors great staff
Horrible Emergency. By far.
Went there to accompany my relative who has to take a colonoscopy exam which took overall around 2 hours. Not crowded at all, mainly because we went there when the hospital put restrictions due of the rising covid cases. We haven't gone to …
I'm reposting my message from 3 years ago since someone now responds to comments. Also it's now been 9 years since my surgery, and I now realize that my TMJ, peripheral neuropay with extreme pain and radiculopathy in my legs, and partially paralyzed diaphram due to a compressed phrenic nerve are all due to the surgery. I can't get any help as the entire MUHC is invoked in a cover-up of this medical error. This is what a couple of retired nurses, now working in alternative medicine, call the medical mafia. Read on to hear about the abuse I had to endure! I had c-spine surgery at the MGH. There was an accident, which they tried to hide. I was unable to sit, stand, walk for almost 2 weeks, and I had 3 episodes of respiratory distress. Given the doctors were not doing anything, the nurses suggested I call the Ombudsman. An MRI showed a spinal fluid leak sitting along c0-c7. I had a second surgery and was virtually thrown out of the operating room without an IV for pain medication or a catheter. Thanks goodness the doctor in charge of the unit they were hiding me in insisted they reattach all before sending me back to the ward. Since then I have had a number of MRIs and EMGs. Some doctors refused to test once they learned that I was the patient who called the Ombudsman and had a 2nd surgery. Another shoved the EMG needle in so hard I bled repeatedly. Another ignored me by speaking on his phone during the entire visit, then ordered another EMG to dispute findings of another. Only one doctor provided a full & truthful report, and many lied in their reports. I know, because I have proof that I have nerve damage in my arms, hands and legs, and one of the technicians told me I needed to have my legs looked at. So here I am 6 years later with increasing disability, in constant pain, my life ruined. I guess the Hippocratic Oath doctors take is just that - hypocrisy!
(Translated) Crowded emergency, staff not accessible. 2 meals that were not served. They hang up on us when we want to talk to someone. (Original) Urgence bondée,personnel non accessible. 2 repas qui n' ont pas été servis. On nous raccroche au nez lorsque on veut parler à quelqu'un.
