15% increase in fee for international students during COVID ??!?

The youngest woman with the curly pony tail and the one that was pregnant at the financials aid office are the dumbest two people I have ever seen in my entire life. They never answered any of my and my friends questions right. They’re not even good at the easiest and most pathetic job they have. Shouldn’t they have a decent job at their age by now??!! Wth. Just quit or find somewhere else to work, like a strip club, though you don’t even have the looks, people would spit on you instead of throwing money. Bunch of losers that have 0 confidence and no brain. They’re very old to have that job. No wonder why this university is the worst in Canada.

The most disrespectful university for international students. Sees them only as a source of income and does not care in any way about their situation, obstacles, demands, and facilities. In this time of crisis due to Covid 19, the university has raised international students' tuition fees for 15%. This increase is for compensating their income loss due to Ontario's government regulations for decreasing the Domestic students' tuition fees. If this is not racism then what is?

Well, the university is striving to get into its way. The acceptance ratio is quite high, and the level of competition is very low. It's definitely possible to raise the standard of University by introducing some new criterias and enhancing the quality of education/teaching. And if you think about the matter of location, I believe that the small town or city or metrocity does not affect the status of University. It all depends on its own. Hence, many things can be improved.

The entire application and registration process has me feeling like I would rather not attent this school. I've had multiple issues including them not sending my letter of acceptance to the OUAC after receiving a email stating I was accepted into the school, which took me a month in itself to get figured out. Then sending me mail with my name wrong, condescending rude staff when you call to inquire about information or help. I've been working on this application since mid summer and I'm still having complications everytime I turn around with little to no assistance by their staff. One even hungup on me. If they wanted a way to scare off new students, they are doing a great job. ????????

The women at the registrar's office are very rude. Poor customer service even on phone. One simple question and they would transfer you in a cycle instead of asking you to clarify. It's a shame UWindsor.

If you are going for the Master of Applied Computing, I suggest you read this one: MAC program has co-op. But university charges full tuition fees for co-op also. They charge you even if you are not using any campus resources. University sees international students as money-making machines. Master of Applied computing department is not supportive, and they don’t care about international students. During COVID-19, they increased the tuition fees by more than 15%. Regarding that, I sent an email to the MAC department and university, but they didn’t give an appropriate response. I would suggest think twice before joining this university and making regretful choice.

Started my academic career here, transferred to UofT and God was it a mistake, windsor has a small close knit campus, great student life, and decent education, but most importantly for me they didn't charge for disability services, a 2000 dollar hidden fee for students with learning disabilities at UofT. The ability to do a years worth of courses at wayne state university in midtown is a welcome advantage to uwindsor, giving it an international edge edge no other school can compete with without any added costs.

ZERO RATING ....... worst university, they will not admitt the people and simply they will send a reason as NOT ADMITTED BECAUSE THERE IS NO FACULTY TO SUPERVISE IN THE FIELD OF RESEARCH. So I wonder that if they don’t have a facility why they have listed all courses in their catalog. I applied for MSc chemistry and bio-chemistry. & MSc Environmental sciences, MSc Biological Sciences. They charged me $1,000 in my first year of school for damage I didn't do, and I still hold a grudge. For some reason they insisted it was me despite no solid evidence. I wanted to seek out a lawyer or something but figured the fees would be more than the charge. Don't go here.

Decent university, decent profs. Beware of the large number of profs with strong accents; it's impossible to understand them. The only good program at the university is Engineering; they get the best building, most resources, etc. The rest of the programs are underfunded and, from what I've experienced, poor quality. If you try the computer science program, get ready to bring in your own computer and hardware since their computers for, you know, "computer" science, do not work. If you try biochemistry/biology/chemistry, get ready for many long lectures with very difficult questions and little assistance. If you're going for Engineering, you're in luck, since that's the program of focus for this university. In my entire university career, I've only had 3 good profs, and out of those 3, one excellent/outstanding man for linear algebra. The Indian man was very clear, very passionate, and made the class enjoyable. He also didn't have that much of an accent, which made him easy to understand.

Not a fan of the new UWinSite program. The website looks like a complete mess, is a pain to navigate, and I am annoyed that I can no longer manage my finances, exams, and grades on the university app. This entire new program/software was a waste. I hope they didn't spend a lot of money on this "upgrade".

Profs and teaching staff are usually fair but many can feel entitled (to their position) and unreasonable. Admin staff and deans are absolute nightmares to work with. Uwin will waste your time, blame you for it, fasciliate depression, and deprive you of mental health resources. U win how? How exactly am i winning if students' opinions and experiences aren't valued? Uwindsor values the students' money over the actual students; shamefully juxtaposing the reason why the University was built in the first place: the pursuit of education.

The campus is alright. However not all the courses could land you a job or placement . The job market is anyways very tough. Especially If coming from india then plan well before coming and have a good account balance. (Anyways 80% indians or indian origin study here so it would be no different then if studying in india) Only a very few courses have placements and co-ops.

My son was a foreign student and almost died without any help from that university. I sent the university mails asking them to help him but no one cared enough to even talk to him and find out if he needed medical attention. I had to process a visa, fly to Canada together with my daughter and got him admitted in hospital. We were in Windsor for close to a month as we waited for him to recuperate. It was a painful experience. I don’t recommend this university for foreigners - especially Africans.

I kind of felt bad for the blond lady in her thirties, light blonde hair blue eyes(Not the one with glasses) at the registrar office for yelling at her back but after telling my friends they laughed and told me that literally every single person that they know complained about her before and many people have complained before on google reviews to. She was so rude to me when I went in today she rolled her eyes while I was talking to her and didn't even answer me she just grabbed my student id angrily and it was so obvious that the other lady asked her if she can do it for me. and then what's funnier is that she was surprisingly bothered by me not being nice to her too. Well when you're rude to people be prepared for them to be rude to you too. We have enough pressure we don't need that kind of attitude. Plus I don't think your job is that stressful. I'm sure students that work and study are a lot more stressed that you are. I'm going to talk to the people that have had similar experience and we are going to email the president, deans office, Academic Integrity Office (AIO). She needs to learn her lesson otherwise they will never stop being disrespectful and racist.

They spend money on useless things and don’t fix things like bathrooms or water pipes. Most classrooms are super outdated unless you are in a program the u deems worthy. It’s almost impossible to finish in four years because you are never able to get into classes that are mandatory for your degree.

Just below average university. I am studying at engineering department. You meet good friends that last, but most profs are arrogant that do not know how to teach, GA are worst they literally do not know anything as they are chosen from foreign countries because they have connections with the prof, the secretaries do not help and rude. Material for courses do not teach anything useful for market place. If you want to learn choose another university.

The white ladies in the registrar's office are always very degrading and treat students like hot potatoes, very patronizing and interrupt you to stonewall you and send you away without help. You have to emotionally prepare before dealing with them, and you have to take extra care of yourself after. As students we have a right to these services, and we quite literally are what keeps this school running, but administrative people regularly degrade us because sending us away crying makes their jobs easier.

Author: Jinnah Chowdhury (Original) উইন্ডসর, অন্টারিও । কানাডার সর্বদক্ষিণের নগরী যা অন্টারিওপ্রদেশের দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিমে এবং জনবহুল কুইবেক সিটি–উইন্ডসর করিডোর অঞ্চলের পশ্চিমপ্রান্তে অবস্থিত। এটি এক্সেস কাউন্টির অন্তর্গত হলেও প্রশসনিকভাবে কাউন্টি সরকার হতে পৃথক। উইন্ডসর ডেট্রয়েটের দক্ষিণে অবস্থিত। কানাডার উইন্ডসর এবং আমেরিকা যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ডেট্রয়েট নগরীর মাঝে বহমান ডেট্রয়েট নদী একই সাথে দুই নগরী এবং দুই দেশের মাঝে সীমানার ভূমিকা পালন করে। উইন্ডসর থেকে ডেট্রয়েটে আকাশরেখা দেখা যায়। উইন্ডসর গোলাপের শহর হিসেবে পরিচিত, এখানকার অধিবাসীদের উইন্ডসরাইটস বলা হয়।ধরিত্রির উল্টোপিঠে, শ্বেত ভল্লুক আর বলগা হরিনের দেশ কানাডার ছোট্ট শহর উইন্ডসরের মূল সরকারী ভবন সিটিহলে। ভূ-গোলার্ধের যে পিঠে বাংলাদেশ তার ঠিক অন্য পিঠে কানাডা। এর একটি অনন্য সুন্দর উপদ্বীপ শহরের নাম হচ্ছে উইন্ডসর। আকাশ থেকে দেখলে মনে হবে ঠিক যেন আর একটি ছোট্ট বাংলাদেশ। যার তিনটি দিক স্বচ্ছ মিঠা সলিলে ঘেরা, শুধু একদিকে রয়েছে সবুজ শ্যমলিমার স্থল ভাগ। দেখতে একরকম মনে হলেও তাঁর প্রায় সব মানুষই হচ্ছে ভিন্ন ভাষাভাষী। বাংলাদেশীদের সংখ্যা সে তুলনায় অতি নগন্যই বলা চলে। ইউরোপীয়দের বসতি স্থাপনের পূর্বে উইন্ডসরে কানাডার আদি জাতির লোকেরা এবং আমেরিকান আদিবাসীরা বসবাস করত। ইউরোপীয়দের মধ্যে ফরাসিরা প্রথম উইন্ডসরে কৃষিকর্মের উদ্দেশ্য বসতি স্থাপন করে। মন্ট্রিলের পশ্চিমে উইন্ডসরই কানাডার সবচেয়ে পুরাতন নীরবিচ্ছিন্ন ভাবে চলে আসে ইউরোপীয় বসতি। শুরুতে বসতিটির নাম দেয়া হয়েছিল "পেটি কোত" বা ছোট সৈকত; দীর্ঘতর সৈকত ছিল নদীর অপর পাশে যেদিকে এখন আমেরিকার ডেট্রয়েট নগরী। পরে লাসাল বালুময় মাটির কারনে এর নাম পাল্টে হয়,দারিদ্র্যের সৈকত। উইন্ডসরের অনেক সড়কের নাম ফরাসি ভাষায়, যা তার ফরাসি ঐতিহ্যের পরিচয় বহন করে। উলেট, পেলিসিয়ে, ফ্রাঁসোয়া, পিয়ের, ল্যাংলয়, মারিনেতেত এবং লজঁ এরকম কয়েকটি নাম। এই নগরীর সড়ক ব্যবস্থাতেও সরু লম্বা ও নদীর দিকে মুখ করে বসান কানাডিয়েন খামারগুলোর কৃষি পদ্ধতির ছাপ দেখা যায়। বর্তমানে উত্তর-দক্ষিণে বিস্তৃত রাস্তাগুলোর নাম অনেক ক্ষেত্রেই বহু বছর আগে সেই খামারের চাষী পরিবারের নাম জানান দেয়। নগর উপকণ্ঠের সড়ক ব্যবস্থায় আবার বৃটিশ জমি বণ্টন ব্যবস্থার ছাপ লক্ষ করা যায়। আজও উইন্ডসরে ও তার আশেপাশের লেকশোর, টেকামসি এবং লাসাল অঞ্চলে উল্লেখযোগ্য সংখ্যক ফরাসি ভাষী বসবাস করেন।উইন্ডসরে রয়েছে একটি প্রাচীনতম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। আজ ১৮, ০৬,২০১৯ আমি বন্ধু আজিম উদ্দীন, ফরিদ ভাই বেরিয়েছিলাম ৩৫৪ মাইল অতিক্রম করে টরেন্টো হতে উইন্ডসরে। লেখকঃ জিন্নাহ চৌধুরী

Registrar's Office clerk was very rude and disrespectful. She is not a very welcoming or friendly person and deals with students as though they're annoying her by using one of the services they paid for. I think she used to be blonde but has since dyed her hair brown which could be because of all the negative reviews she was getting as the blonde lady. The faculty and other student services can be very nice and helpful but this lady in particular should not have a place here. The other Registrar's clerks seem very nice and friendly whereas this one seems to think her time is too valuable to be wasted on students. Edit: Have been back to the registrars office a few times and have not seen the same woman again. Not sure what happened but the service I have been getting has been good. Waiting to see if it is consistent but I am usually helped to satisfaction and treated nicely.

Campus of university is good but management department is worst. They change their policy regarding fees and all at any time and without prior notice. Overall, I had a decent experience at the U of W. I had some memorable professors who taught me well and I met some lovely people who, to this day, I still consider good friends. I would like to point out that the French dept. was a disappointment as a few profs were, in my opinion, incompetent and/or lacked teaching skills. While during the global suffering from COVID-19 most of the universities and colleges have provided students with financial aids, loans, or tuition fee reductions, the faculty of Engineering in this poor ranked and low educational quality university shamelessly and unbelievably has increased international students' tuition fee more than 15 %. This is happening even before the first-year end. If it was not for the money paid for the first and second semester majority of students would have dropped the program undoubtedly. Don't ever make this regretful choice for your graduate studies.

-I kind of understand why are all these people hating on Claire Venney and the ladies at the registrars office. Claire Venney was genetics, molecular biology and evolution TA. Most of the students in my lab didn't like her for many reasons and one of them is that most of the time she didn't know what she was talking about and you can clearly see that she wasn't interested in what she was doing. She would also kept talking about herself instead of the experiment that we would be doing and non of us liked that, we don't really care about your personal life and how much you hate your profs, we just want to learn then leave. Another thing is one time she said that she hated labs and she never understood anything that was done in a lab (which was so obvious btw) so how on earth did she become a TA. Other TAs from different classes knew her and they didn't like her either. One of them ever said she asked someone if she can cheat of him and when he said no she pretended she was kidding. And not just that, there are so many things why she is hated by everyone like the way she talks and stares into your soul while speaking in a very low, brittle voice which was so creepy and cringy at the same time. -Ladies at the registrars office are hated because they re so rude and they literally yell at students for no reason. One time the lady who always sits in the middle yelled at someone because she didn't understand what he needed. -the profs are okay. Most of them are very helpful and a couple are very bad.

I came to UWindsor from out of town. SO GLAD I DID! This has got to be one of the most underrated Universities! I cannot say enough about everything here. Quality Education, Helpful Services, Extracurricular, Affordability, even just walks/jogs along the riverfront... I love this place! Being in my third year here now, I'm hoping to move here permanently once I'm done school (but I'm doing a graduate degree here so that will be a while still). I really fit right into the scene though and it was easy to become comfortable here from the beginning. If I had to be critical I would say that I wish they would expand the university area even more. They've done lots of renovations and have a lot of new buildings and exciting projects/things going on; the new engineering building/faculty is absolutely incredible. I think they need more buildings like that! They need to clean up some neighbouring areas around the university too... Some are beautiful, like the older style homes and streets that have so much character, and others have the potential to be so nice but they just need some TLC!!!

This is a horrible school! The people at the registrar's office are very rude! I went to ask for help, and as soon as they saw me coming they shut the doors and refused to answer any of my questions! Overcrowded university in a city which does not have the proper facilities and infrastructure for this number of students, however the economy of many businesses depends on students. My daughter requires accommodations due to her learning disability and all her professors this semester will not record their classes. She has has had to drop all her classes because of this. Both of my brothers graduated with a Computer Science degree from U of Windsor and one is in management with a software company. My sister in-law also graduated from there with same degree. They never had issues getting jobs at all. Over all, I think it’s a great school!
