The worst school in the City of Calgary... This school is a joke

Dr Yagyadut Gupta

It would have impossible for me to take care of my family if I would not have been considered by ABES for Surgical Device Reprocessing/Medical Device Reprocessing Technician course. The funding provided in this course was the only hope for me to survive in this country with no other source of income. It was related to my own medical field and it gave me the support to move ahead. The staff particularly Dolores, Eugene and Christina have taken due care of every minute detail and made it a point that no student should lag behind in the class. Their considerate behaviour made us to gel in the Canadian society with ease. It would have never been able to understand Canada so well if Eugene and Dolores would not have been the part of this course. They are the best of any teacher so far I have encountered in my life. I have been grateful to ABES for selecting me and making my life easy in this country. My children, wife and I might have to go back to India if the funding has not been provided and with the costly living in Canada. I am thankful to the government of Canada and Alberta for funding and taking care of professionals. I hope that this course must continue in ABES for years to come since it will give confidence to doctors, pharmacist or other professionals to be a part of it and will be helpful for the immigrated families to settle in a respectable profession.

This is the best college in Calgary. Awesome and knowledgeable instructors ,they are very professional as well as having personal touch with students, their top goal is to help students succeed, they prepare students for their dream jobs. The practicum placement is just great. Employers want students from abes because they are well prepared to work. I got 3 jobs in my first week after graduation, hospital job is one of them. Taking the HCA course at abes has been one of my greatest decisions, I feel fulfilled in my job. I highly recommend ABES! money back guaranteed from Me if this is not your experience ????????

It's a good chance to study a short program, specially if you're a newcomer and your English skills are just not enough to study any career at University!! I'm from Ecuador ???????? and I just came here one year ago, so it's a good start when you really want to study but the lenguage is one of the biggest issues!!

Autumn Lee

I would say that if anybody wanted to get into the healthcare field as a HCA they should explore other colleges that offers that kind of training. Don't waste you're money or time here because they do not care about you're success they only care about your money and to keep their program running. After graduating and applying many health care facilities don't even know what Abes is and you will struggle looking for employment. They say you can use them as references while you apply for work but I've had managers tell me they have called only to say no I can't use them as a work reference. So good luck with help and support in finding work with Abes and watch out for that Hanns witch to, she's awful.

A few years ago I was asked to teach English in the Sterile Processing Technician Program at ABES. This essentially involved teaching English to educated medical professionals from across the globe, the idea being to get them into the health care system with good jobs. My experience with teaching adults prior to coming to ABES was almost exclusively at the college or university level, so I wasn't sure at first I would be a good fit. And yet, with the support of the director and administration, I have been allowed the freedom to design an English program that as far as I know is unique anywhere in the world. Our bottom line is simple: we want to teach our students the things they need to know to get employed and stay employed, and in this we have been incredibly successful. We have an amazing hire rate for our students. All in all, it has been a great experience, and in my mind ABES is a gem of a school, and I would recommend it to anyone. If you don't know my name, I am a well known playwright and journalist, and I keep a blog about my activities. One of my posts was specifically about my experience at ABES, and if you can find my blog you can find a more detailed description of my experience at this wonderful school. It's just my name with dot com after it and the ABES piece is archived in August, 2011.

Taking the MLA course at ABES was a great experience for me personally. Now I am almost done with my practicum and I am happy that I didn't miss any moment in my training , because each and every moment of the course had its own value and helped me a lot in real job site. After almost 200 phlebotomy at school I was confident and ready to start my practicum which affected my performance positively. The ABES management team is awesome and the instructors are the most supporting and friendly teachers I have ever seen. Thank you very much to the manager, coordinator and lovely, skillful and knowledgeable instructors (Paolo, Joyce, and Abbi You are the best! :)

I’m currently a student at Abes in the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) program. This college is amazing! The staff and the instructors are absolutely great. Eugene, John, Moy, and Charmi are knowledgeable and experienced instructors who are very good at teaching and most importantly, they are always there to help whenever you need them. They are very informative and teach you exactly what you need to know and how to succeed in the course and your practicum. From difficulty in English as your second language, to the medical terminology, to training and leading up to practicum and writing your IAHCSMM exam, and lastly how to prepare for you interview they help us with everything. Also, they are not just instructors but are very friendly and they understand every student, where they come from and their struggle in Canada with finding jobs in the Medical field. I really like Abes College because it has just the right amount of students, and because it is small, instructors really do focus on students individually. Whereas, if you happened to be at a bigger college, you’re basically a student with a number and instructors do not have the time focus on you. I really recommend Abes for those individuals who are seeking to do a short term program to prepare for employment in the medical field. This could be used as a stepping stone for those who want to get into the medical profession. Whether you were born here or are a new comer to Canada, Abes is the place for you!

Absolutely Fantastic College! Passionate Teachers, Helpful Administration, and a Staff that really cares about the students. The college has relevant curriculum and hands on training and practicums! (Set up by the college for students). Even after graduation they support their graduates in getting a job! You couldn’t make a better choice to get into health care!

5 star is not enough for this awesome school. I took MDRT ( Medical Device Reprocessing Technology) course in ABES last August 8, 2017. I’ll never forget that date when I start to dream. I believe education is a formidable investment, like Malcolm X quote “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”. I’ve done my research on what will be the best school, which course or program should I take and sometimes its kinda hard to make decision, but choosing ABES is the easy part. ABES staffs are very accommodating. They provide all the informations needed, detailed explanation of all the programs or courses available, also assists you in your student loan application/grants and others goverment assistance while you studying. The ABES instructors are diligent and have broad expertise to equipped the ABES students the right knowledge and skills needed to get you professionally prepared in the medical field. The ABES coordinator and management are committed to provide a conducive learning facilities, and passionate to the welfare of all students. Every day is a fun day (some instances there will be a pizza party, watch and enjoy popcorn etc, just like in movie theatre not school lol) but above all you’ll definitely learn a lot. I finished my practicum within Calgary area and graduated last May 29, 2018 and less than a month, my dreams finally came true to get in the medical field, in healtcare workforce. I got a hired as Surgical Processor as a temporary full time in Royal Alexandra Hospital, Im very happy and totally overwhelm, how my life rolls after my graduation. Career opportunities keep on rolling in span of less than 3 months they offered me a permanent regular full time job. Life is so good when reap all the success and my dreams came to reality. Hope you have your own success story, And its my time to share and spread the good news, Im willing to help, answer your queries, give advice or tips anything that I can help you out, just reach me out here and may post from time to time, again thanks a lot ABES family. ????????????

Recently completed the HCA course and have already been offered a job in a hospital setting. I wouldn't hve achieved that without the support and leadership from ABES. If you put in the work, and adhere to their high standards...which are important in Health Care - you will do fine. If you don't do the work and make excuses or can't find a way to work with others you likely won't be successfull.

WOW Vacation

If you need have a problems welcome to ABES. Most of the review was written to get a good evaluation and is a lie.

Go anywhere but this school! The teachers and staff here are constantly making promises to their future students that are never kept. They promise you these things in order for you to enroll and invest all your money into them, when later you're just left disappointed and you're unable to get a refund. This school favors white women, older people and those with children over any young youth or immigrants looking to get their careers started. Any students under the age of 30 are automatically treated with disrespect and looked down on and assumed to be immature children when all they're trying to do is get an education and better themselves. The clinical locations not at reasonable distance and they do not care to help accommodate you so that you can make it there on time especially if you do not have your own method of transportation. The teachers here are awful at communication and are very judgmental towards you as a student. This school is extremely unaccommodating and more times than not students are set up for failure. Teachers are supposed to help their students and want them to be successful, this school does the opposite then makes them feel stuck. If you were to leave the program you'll be losing over 8000 and get nothing out of it. I would highly recommend going elsewhere to get your education, if you want to be treated fairly and as an adult this is not the place for you. If you want to be treated with respect and be accommodated properly, this is definitely not the school or you.

I'm a new resident of Canada and part of my plan is to go back to medical field as I was a Physiotherapist back home. I researched on what short program should I take that can help me go back to the medical field and get me a job immediately. Then, I heard about Health Care Aide Program. I checked schools that offered this Program and chose ABES among other schools. WHY? Because all the staff are approachable and treats you with respect the minute you entered the school. I also find their strategy to be great. They will not leave you in the air without teaching you what you need to know. They ensure that you are capable and confident to do your task. After graduation, I immediately got a job in a hospital and I would like to THANK ALL THE ABES STAFF for being a part of my success especially Melissa, Karen, Harpreet, Julie, and Carmenza. SALUTE TO ALL OF YOU! YOU ALL ROCK! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND ABES TO EVERYONE! They are a school that has a heart. :)

It has been 4 years now since I first entered the doors of ABES. I cannot forget and will never forget that wonderful experience that day. As the saying goes, " First impression is lasting" I will not forget, how the staffs there greeted me with big smiles, like I was someone so important or someone they knew in the past and had missed me. One of the staff did not waste a single minute and asked me if I needed help in anyway. After a brief time that she allowed me to explain why I am there, she immediately, without even any hesitation , after knowing that I had a medical background, suggested me to consider looking into the Medical Device Reprocessing Course, one of the courses ABES is offering, and mainly for International Medical graduates. I felt the sincerity and concern which throughout the time I was with ABES doing this course, kept going and going, I mean the concern and care of the staffs of ABES. From the Director to the instructors of ABES, and even the front desk personnel, I can feel that if I needed help in anyway, they will be there just for me. Because of this care and attention, I was able to complete this course without any delay, had such a wonderful and well grounded practicum experience where they assigned me to have it at the Foothills Medical Center, and now, I am a fulfilled MDRT enjoying what I am doing and blessed to be a part of the surgical team that cares and provide the best treatment to patients. I have a secured job and even had the opportunity to impart knowledge to future MDRT's. I wish all the best to ABES, and I am totally thankful and indebted to this institution and am praying that it will continue to grow and serve our communtiy as it has been doling the past 20 years.

Got selected after a competitive selection process to ABES. Studied Unit Clerk/Medical Office Assistant Program at ABES in 2016. Was placed at Peter Lougheed Hospital and Genesis Physiotherapy for practicums. Got a job out of practicum .Working Permanent-full time at Alberta Health Services for more than 3 years. Thanks for all the support and training .

I'm a student currently taking the UC/MOA course and it is an amazing experience. The instructors I'm studying with are knowledgeable in their profession and are extremely supportive when you need help such as medical terminology, or how to tackle various situations at a clinic or hospital. The classes are entertaining and engaging for students to grow and be a part of the community. The courses are short, simple, and definitely rewarding for those who are interested in a career in Health Care, whether you are recent graduate of high school, or looking for a career change, or simply looking to expand your knowledge. Financial aid is also provided should you require it. Definitely an A+ recommendation!

I have a lot to thank the teachers and instructors at ABES for. They truly care about you and want you to succeed. They do everything they can to help anyone needing it. My dream was to be in Emerg, and they got me there!! I highly recommend ABES, and still to this day stay in contact with my instructors!! ♥️ I’m so glad I took the chance of a Facebook ad and met with them, I will never look back!

When I first decided that I wanted to pursue a career as a Medical Lab Assistant, I began researching Colleges that offered the program and I found ABES. When I contacted the school regarding info about the program I found the staff very friendly and helpful in answering all of my questions. Aside from the fact that I always felt welcome and comfortable at ABES through the admission process a big draw to attend their program for me was their long term partnership with Calgary Lab Services, as this was where I was hoping to work at the end of the program, and I was also impressed with their high employment rates. I greatly enjoyed the MLA program at ABES. I felt that the class size allowed for a good and productive learning environment and I really appreciated having instructors who worked in the field and were therefore able to share invaluable wisdom. Upon graduating from the MLA program I have continued to work in the field and definitely enjoy being part of the healthcare field. Thank you ABES!!

Studying at ABES College has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. The instructors and staff are a top-rate as they want their students to do well and they are very supportive in every step of the way. I am very thankful for all the staff of ABES College as they have been a part of my successful journey and I wouldn't achieve what I have achieved without the caring environment. One piece of advice I would like to give to future students is "JUST TRUST THE PROCESS!" <3

ABES is a great place to learn, with friendly, supportive and professional teachers. I feed glad I chose ABES. They welcome feedback positively and support their students in all ways they can.

Best place to start your Career in Health Care . My wife and I both studied here. Love the the instructors. We both have great jobs now. We both work Full time hours. ABES guarantees Practicum placements to all their students. You have a very high chance of getting hired during your practicum. Lot of the times your preceptors are ABES alumni's which increases your chances of getting hired during your practicum.

The Staff are borderline hostile, and the cost is absolutely absurd. A friend of mine missed time for serious medical reasons and they kicked her out and refuse to speak with her. To make matters worse they have taken her money and refuse to refund any of it. It makes me really sad to think that a school designed to help people work in the healthcare industry would be so short sighted and heartless. I would consider other options before giving this school my business.

The most unprofessional college that i’ve ever seen. Staff are not helpful and well trained ( or they are just trained to make ppl’s lives worse and worst)!!! I live in Vancouver. As my family decided to move to Calgary, i was interested to participate in MLA program. So i was in touch with them through email and have been asked to go there for the interview and Doulingo test. Surprisingly both could have been done online! But No problem! We went there on Jan 11, i did my test, next two days on Jan 13 they interviewed me on phone!! At the end of interview the coordinator of the program told me that i am accepted but not for March but for July!!! During all those emails, calls, no one had told me that i might take a seat for July. I thought, one seat is reserved until my results came up, AT LEAST!! If they had told me about July intake, i would not have talked to my manager back in Vancouver about my last day that would be on Feb 25!! It means, now i will be jobless as another person hired as a substitute!!! They completed all documents, set a zoom call to prepare my documents for government loan but for July! I was almost in the middle of process to rent a unit in Calgary. These unprofessional team, are able to ruin your life forever. Their actions towards applicants are so frustrating and inappropriate. They just need you for the money. DO NOT TRUST THEM! keep your money for yourselves, it is not worth it to pay these huge amount for all of these mess! Such a shame! If anyone needs proof, please email me and I can send all of my documents to them to avoid further mistakes!!

I'm very grateful to take my Health Care Aide at ABES college without ABES i wouldn't have finish my program. i felt very welcome from the day i stepped my foot at their door from front desk lady to teachers and staff they are very friendly. very flexible, teaching is very great they don't make it overwhelming. the fact that students gets 2 months of clinical and 21 days of practicum is very helpful by time u start ur practicum u feel like ur already working because u got the skills and feel comfortable working with residents. would recommend anyone who is looking to take any course in the Health Care filed to go to ABES u will never regret after i finished my course talk to some of friends and most of them decided to go to ABES. viola simon

3 months after l graduated from the Unit Clerk / Medical Office Assistant program at ABES, I got 3 job interviews, 2 job offers and now work as a Unit Clerk to the glory of God. The instructors were dedicated, intelligent and understanding. They often taught outside the teaching box when providing practical exercises, presentations and tests to assist in preparing students to succeed in the real world. The Director always came into classes to encourage students and the courageous, dedicated Program Coordinator sent students out in March 2020. The reputation of the school precedes the certificate you get on graduation and you are able to work in any province in Canada. If you need a change in career or are interested in a fulfilling career in the medical field, ABES is a great place for you to consider. Thank you. MN

Amazing school! The staff are very nice and helped get through my journey at ABES. I am so glad I attended here, I’ve never felt more set with my life. Thank you ABES!!

Best school out there. Got a job right after I finished the program. Teachers care about students and they will do whatever they can to see them exceed. Great job Abes, I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a career change.

ABES is an amazing college! I took the Health Care Aide course here and could not be happier with the outcome. ABES is filled with compassionate and caring teachers and instructors who want you to succeed and help you at any cost to do so. If you are looking for a hands on course, fast employment, and unlimited support look no further, you won’t be disappointed!!

Ana Sartal

ABES is one of the most didicated school that always making it sure there graduates land a job. Teachers teach student passionately hands on , actual on classroom and in the fields, they will trained you and prepare you to the actual world of your choosen fields spiritualy, physically, mentally.

I graduated from the MLA program last year and would like to highly recommend ABES to anyone looking to further their education. My impressions of ABES from when I inquired about the program until the day I finished never changed. The staff and environment remained professional, supportive and encouraging. ABES staff members treat all students fairly and with respect. The staff are very dedicated in seeing their students succeed. I found that the expectations set out for students were very clear and realistic from the beginning. These expectations were high in order to prepare us for the workforce. Not only were the instructors very knowledgeable, the extensive hands on experience we received at ABES was key to my success in practicum and employment after graduation. Not only were ABES staff very helpful throughout my time at the school, they continued to assist my classmates and I in the job search once we were done. I am happy to say that I received employment with CLS when I graduated and have been working with them ever since. Thanks ABES!

Best school! I took the HCA program and loved it. Staff help students! Go to ABES!

Not a great experience at all, struggled to find employment after working hard to complete the program. Had a great practicum and despite my past experience with Lab work and references for the many, many roles I applied to at CLS as well as advising ABES of this, I ultimately had to relocate and uproot my family to find work out of Province which had a huge impact on my family. If I could take back this stressful experience, as well as the student loan I'm still stuck with, I definitely would. I also did let ABES know of this and was told this would be passed along and never did hear back at all. I would consider another program and won't recommend this training to anyone I know.

I attended ABES back in 2001. I was in one of the first Computer Administrator Classes (CA1). ABES has changed my life for the better. The staff and instructors coach you to believe in your capabilities. They firmly believed in one on one communication and nurtured each and every one of their students. I have been working in IT for 12 years now and because of ABES and the confidence they help me find, I have been successful with my career. I have worked in oil and gas now for about 6 years and have successfully worked my way up the ladder . ABES gave me the foundation I needed to build on my education. The other thing that I love about ABES is that I have stayed close with all the other pupils that were in training with me. I know that I can always call a former ABES student and get a reference or leads on employment. ABES is not only an educational institution they are also a community that helps people to succeed. Secondly, my mother attended ABES and did the MLA course. She was 52 when she went back to school and has had a flourishing success since. Currently, my husband is in the same course and is doing very well and loves the support and education he is receiving. It may be a fast track program and intense but you come out of ABES feeling very proud of your achievements. THANK YOU ABES.

Alissa Wilson

I am currently enrolled in the Unit Clerk MOA program at Abes and so far I’ve had a wonderful experience! The classes are small and interactive and the learning is fast paced and interesting. The staff are friendly and helpful and all of the instructors are there to help you find your success. Abes is really helping me to get the most out of my education and setting me up for a successful career path, I couldn’t recommend it more.

I took Sterile Processing Technician program at ABES in 2010 and got hired just finishing practicum. This is the most helpful school for immigrants to find their health care career in a short time in Canada. The staff of the school are excellent . They care for you for everything , not just for study.

Yueming Zhan

I felt so grateful when I had chance to be student in ABES SPT program. This institution built a great bridge between me and my future career. Instructors helped me to be success finishing my program in many good ways. What I am saying is that they treated me more than teachers and student. We are family. Even now, I still feel I am one of them.

I will always be thankful to Abes for helping me to recover the faith in myself and re-encounter my path and become who I am now: A healthcare professional.

My experience with ABES was beyond words when it came down to achieving the goal to succeed as the admin staff and instructors are always there to help and steer you towards finishing the program with the knowledge and skill set needed for employment. Never encountered a day during my time in school where my questions were ignored, they may take a while to reply, but they will have the correct information by the time you get a response from staff. Overall a great school for future students thinking of switching professions/career as they have great resources for students. -EV

Decided to go back to school & sadly the wrong school... Life got into the way & had to drop out. Now I'm stuck with $9000 student loan when I only attended 25% of the course... But of course it's a private school so they make you sign a contract saying if u complete 25% therefor you owe 80% of student loan... Are you fricken serious. I knew this school was too good to be true i should have just went to Sait like everyone else told me to do. Now I gotta pay $9000 when tuition is only $10000 & I have not certificate to show for. I've been trying to get in touch with the owner for the past 3 weeks &I no reply because he don't wanna deal with me, sad truth but.. TRUTH. Worst school & experience! Please don't attend this school. I was in the MLA program & the course is now done but still in touch with classmates, since the course has been done only 1 student has been employed the rest is angry & furious. Also big problem at ABES is that some instructors & some staff were favoring same kind students, & we all knew it was happened but matter was not resolved. I know people will read reviews before doing something & please do not make the same mistake as I did, whatever course you wanna take another school will offer it & they will guarantee you employment. If you want more information on my experience please feel free to email me & I will share my story. In conclusion thank you ABES College for putting an unemployed, soon to be mother in debt that's exactly what I need when bringing life to this world.

Terrible school. Well, not all of it was terrible. If I could give it no stars, I would. The teachers were probably the only good thing about this “institution”. The schools directors and counsellor (one of them) were extremely distasteful in how they handled many incidents. I’m absolutely disappointed at my choice to come to this “institution”. I could’ve used my student loans somewhere else like an accredited university.

This school is amazing. The staff really care. I had issues in the program and had to miss class. They let me withdrawal, come back a couple months later and never charged me a penny more. This tells me the care about students and not about the money. Every person at Abes is helpful and kind. The school is the best school ever. I got a job right after graduating and I’m so happy I found my Abes family. Love you Abes!!!

Sarah Waters

I had a great experience at ABES. Staff really want to see students succeed and they do whatever they can to help. I got a job right away when I was finished my Practicum. I am so thankful to Abes!

Amanda Leer

Teachers are amazing, Don't except any help to find a job. I feel like I not only wasted my money but my time. I have been looking for over a year and unfortunately have had to return to my old field of work. When I start my LPN courses, I will make sure I never make the same mistake twice. I worked so hard and came out with a 96% final on my overall. I feel absolutely lost. I should have listened to a few friends before applying here

Sheril Shivani

Best school I can say for sure. There take interest in each student. Helps them in any way possible to make them succeed. Instructors are amazing, great environment and learning experience. Training provided helps out when u got jobs and u just thank your abes college in ur heart for making a dream possible. So thank u for giving me a memorable experience.

I went to ABES College for the Unit Clerk/MOA course and I must say that the experience I had was absolutely wonderful. My instructor Danielle was the absolute best in teaching each of the classes. She was so thorough in her explanation of every little detail and that allowed me to understand certain concepts which I had never been able to understand before. She is so bright and cheery and honestly made my day, every day! The course itself is structured well and leaves you filled with so much knowledge. I recently got accepted into my Psychology degree at MRU and if it were not for ABES and their instructors, I would not have formed the studying habits that I have now, not to mention, I feel like I know myself so much better. My personal experience with practicum was that it was challenging in the beginning. It actually was challenging throughout most of the practicum. I found my greatest difficulty was being able to be open to all types of teaching and that might be yours as well. I had two preceptors in my first practicum and each of them had a different style of doing tasks. I’d say to take each of the styles and find your own flow in the workspace but also ensure to be respectful if you are asked to do things a certain way. You may not be best friends with your preceptor so walk in with zero expectations. That is how you will adapt. You also won’t get upset either. Keep reminding yourself that you are there to learn and to gain hands on experience. Remember to not talk back to your preceptors. Yes, they are getting paid while also teaching you and doing their job. It isn’t easy to have a student hovering over you while you’re trying to get through your (most-likely) stressful day. Your preceptors will appreciate you for trying your best, so try not be hard on yourself. The last thing, remember to be kind and breathe. Thank you so much ABES for teaching me all that you have and introducing me to some very wonderful human beings. I will never forget you. - Shayene

A year ago I found myself unemployed due to the downturn in the local economy. I decided my best option would be to return to school and study for a new career in health care. I stumbled upon an ad for ABES and started the application process. Right from the start, through my classroom learning time to my practicum, the staff were helpful, accommodating and professional. They wanted me to succeed and did everything possible to see that I met my goal. The staff continue to support me and cheer me on toward success. I would recommend ABES to anyone serious about training for a new career. If you give 100% to the program you will see the reward and ABES will be right there to congratulate you when you're done!

Coming to ABES gave me a new career path and direction in canada after I was out of job. before I concluded the HCA program I had several job offers within and out of the province, It has been a roller coaster from back to back. Abes really gave us the good and solid foundation to face the world out there.

I went to ABES for their MLA program this past year and had a wonderful experience. The instructors were knowledgeable and skillful and were really able to teach and cultivate practical skills for our future employment. They were kind and helpful and made learning interesting, and effective. The hands on training is unique to this program at ABES opposed to other schools. The practical training helps you to be so much more prepared for hands on work the moment you step into a lab. The 5 week practicum placements are really effective in helping you to be prepared for employment. They are invested in your success and help you at every part of the process, start to finish. I honestly would recommend the school and the instructors to anyone interested in this program.

The opportunity to be a part of the ABES family and finish successfully the MLA program served as an important fist step to further and greater endeavors. A school that offers a conducive environment for learning matched with highly motivational and technically skilled staff and an up-to-date program curriculum that suits employer's requirements prove a perfect formula for success. Overall an amazing and a very rewarding experience! Keep up the great job!

Having been laid off, I questioned whether I should continue in the same line of work. After much research, thinking outside my box, and interviewing several schools, I met with Abes to learn more about the programs offered and discuss a possible fit for me. In no time, I was registered for the Unit Clerk/Medical Office Assistant program. I cannot lie - we learn hard and study harder. As a "mature" student, I sometimes wonder how much more my brain can hold. Between our Instructors, our Program Coordinator, and Julie popping in and out, we are assured of their ongoing support and tools for success. I believe it. We are doing this and I am very excited about my new path ahead.

Going to ABES was the absolute best decision I have ever made. The HCA program was very in depth with amazing teachers. The practicum experience I gained was so valuable and taught me so much. ...not only about how to care for other humans... but about myself as well. I am extremely grateful for everyone I met and learned from at ABES College. I went to another college for an ACSW course before I knew that ABES was starting their own CSW course, had I known I would have done it at ABES. Thank you ABES for being the biggest part of my life changes ❤❤❤ I love you all and I recommend everyone I see worthy of the experience!

ABES is 100% the best place to go if you want to work in the health care field. They are so supportive and amazing, willing to help you out whether or not your problems are school related. ABES is more than just a school, it's a family.

I have been working for ABES for over 6 years, I'm one of the instructors for the UC/MOA program. I feel we have the best program set up to ensure all students receive the highest level of education and are prepared for the workforce. ABES is the only private college that sets up 2 practicums for the UC/MOA students giving them a huge opportunity to experience both types of medical settings. All the staff at ABES is very supportive of each other and the students. You always feel like you can go to them about any issues or concerns you are having.

I took the Medical Office Assistant and Unit Clerk class night class as ABES and it was awesome. The whole process from start to finish was seamless and I can honestly say the whole staff is passionate about the students and their success. Being able to take part in the night/weekend class was so flexible and worked really well with my busy schedule. I would highly recommend ABES to potential students. I had such a fantastic experience and I feel like they have really prepared me for the workplace!

ABES is not only a school but a family to me. Going to ABES is one of the greatest thing that ever happened to me coming to Canada. Through it, I found a new career and family. I am so grateful to be chosen as one of the students in Sterile Processing Technician Program (SPT 1208). At first, I didn't know how I will manage at school especially that it's been a long time since I finish college. But with the coordinator and instructors that the school has chosen for the program, each day was full of learning and excitement. To Mitch, William, Dolores, Eugene and Christina, I salute you all for coming up with a great strategy of teaching making our 7 months not stressful but enjoyable one. Truly, what you taught us prepared me well for this noble profession. I absolutely recommend ABES as an excellent learning institution.

Nash Dick

Took the unit clerk mla course. Abes told me they had a ninety six percent hiring rate. Fact is lest than 30 percent of my class have employmen . The ones that do have full time.empoyment at hospitals work all over the city in casual position . The school is a stress inducing joke.

I want to find a stable job and continue work in medical field, so attended sterile Processing Technician program at ABES in Aug 2012. ABES is very professional school, there is some excellent teachers and good teaching plan. I learned lots medical terminology and professional knowledge there. The students who graduated from ABES are welcome by every hospital, so most of us can find job very soon.

When I decided that I wanted to pursue a career as Medical Lab Assistant, I started to research for the colleges those offered the program and I found ABES.. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I felt welcomed and comfortable at school during admission process and throughout my course. Teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful. They made every effort to make the subject easy , understandable and interesting so that students don't feel overwhelmed. It was a very good and memorable experience for me and I learned a lot while in school.

ABES college is a great school! If you want a career in health care this is the place to go. They have a great reputation with CLS and Alberta Health Services. They will give you everything you need to start in health care down to scubs to wear. I would recommend anyone to take a program here. The staff and teachers really care about students. They will help you reach your goals.

Larissa Lafond

I was officially hired during my second practicum! During my time at ABES I found myself a little more, as an indigenous woman I've always lacked confidence in myself and this world. I wasn't sure financially about my future for myself or my children but after attending ABES I am now working a great job with amazing people! I also feel like I can go even further with my education in the near future as the teachers and staff helped build the confidence I needed in myself when it came to learning! Thanks to the entire staff there! Much love!

John Guinto

I took the MLA program late 2016. My overall experience was definitely positive. Instructors and supporting staff were professional, engaging, fun, easy to approach and most importantly has field experience. Will recommend to other people who are looking to get into the health care industry.
