WHATCHA MCCALLUM

Every professor i had seemed to care about the students. Somewhat hard to navigate the campus when new to the university. Good central location in Brandon. Pretty clean. Have drank at SUDS more times than i should have. Tuition seemed high. The bookstore had everything you needed even some revisions from professors. Many bulletin board around to find others who have taken courses that are unloading books or supplies. Never had to use the dorms for i lived in Brandon... but have partied in them.

The people in the recruiting department of Brandon are really great. They are so helpful and quite knowledgeable about all of the programs that BU has to offer. The atmosphere of Brandon University is much more homey and inclusive than Manitoba's other universities.

Great teachers, really care about your grades and everything. One problem I seem to always have is that Brandon university loves giving out false information. No matter what I do they tell me one thing then the next they tell me another thing...

Descent small university. The relationships that the small class sizes allow you to build with the professor's is invaluable. I know many of them on a first name basis. It is also very cheap.

i was there from August 2019 till April 2020. I had several classes during my exchange years and this is one of my favourite memories i experienced because everyone was so friendly and helpful, McMaster Hall was so warm and like home far from home to me and other Asian students who came here for an exchange year. My favourite professors are Dr Harms and Dr Nazish who taught me History and Politics&Media, I also had classes like Rural Canada and Indigious Studies....

Brandon University is well known for being School of Music ????. However, their Nursing and Geology faculties also have good reputation for guiding their students to path of success along with other faculties. I have completed my Bachelor’s degree from this University. It is a great educational institution if you like small classes and want to meet your profs in person on short notice. Tuition fees here is affordable compared to big universities, so you won't go broke after graduation. However, if you are an international student from a middle class family, I’ll ask you to do your research before you get into this University. As Brandon University has adorable tuition fees, many middle class international student join here. However, in past years, i have noticed that University has a tendency to increase international students tuition feels dramatically. Two years later, your tuition feels might not stay anyways close to where it is now, so if you have a set budget for your education, give it a second thought. At the top of it, there is no manitoba health care for international students anymore. You might get stuck in the middle of your degree because of tuition increase, and not be able to transfer to other universities because no other universities usually get more affordable than BU. Moreover, keep it in mind that Brandon is a very small city, so it has less room to develop and network which will a big disadvantage for you to get a good job after graduation. According to my experience, networking is the best friend of an international student as you’ll be starting from the bottom in a new country. Having said that, if you are a Canadian student, don’t worry about cones. Honestly, there is more pros than cons for you at this University. I hope, this review helps you. Ohh.. almost forgot to mention: if you like friendly environment, welcome to Brandon University my friend! ????

Most faculty are committed to being the best teachers they can possibly be. A minor few aren't. Student life is very good quality and the students Union are active on behalf of and generous to BU students. The school is under rated and really is a gem that is waiting to be discovered, esp. by Winnipeg students who want to live away from their parents but still want to come home to have their laundry done on weekends.
