The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because Nicole at the front desk was fantastic, friendly and helpful. She was obviously overworked and underpaid, she was working alone at the desk with no help and a busy lobby and she still gave service with a smile. I felt sorry for her, this company is lucky to have her as an employee. The bed was uncomfortable, there were no amenities in the room (coffee cups, stir sticks etc), the "included" breakfast was a frozen egg mcmuffin that we were supposed to heat up in our microwave. I understand that with covid things had to change, but seriously? Frozen meal?

Good value for the price point. Convenient location near University of Calgary, McMahon Stadium and great access to Public Transportation (C-Train).

My favorite hotel to stay in. 4 not-lumpy pillows per bed, quiet and efficient AC, very clean room, fridge, microwave

It was the worst night we have ever spent in a hotel. We will never go back to this one ever. At 3 am, a guy above us started crying I called down to front deck and told him what was going on, within 2 minutes from hanging up he calls me back and tell me he has a security guard up there walking around which I call BS on that. I said to the front deck what you think I get up at 3 am and call you for the hell of it. They will never ever see us walking through there doors again

The toilet in our room was loose, the sheets were stained, the bed was hard, pillows lumpy. I had dirty towels in my room and when I asked for clean ones they said they didn't have any. The floor was visibly dirty and there was a sock on the ground. The shower head barely worked. I was charged 2 dollars a day for a safe I wasn't using. The breakfast sandwhich was still frozen when I got it in my breakfast to go bag. The water was shut off on our toilet. There was a musky smell in the hallways. The elevator felt like it was going to break down with lots of creaks and rattles. The pool floor was very dirty with hair and grime and they ran out of pool towels. The staff seems overwhelmed with their duties, check in was very slow and the first morning only gave me half the breakfast items I had requested.

It was nice and looked good. You could tell that there had been updates and Reno’s done and being done. The elevator was noisy and creeks when moving. The pool and hot tub temperatures were great! The breakfast was delicious. Hot foods were at a perfect temperature. All staff was friendly and approachable.

Felt comfortable and safe I was looked after very well Staff was awesome!

The staff at the front desk were always attentive and pleasant. They helped us out not once but twice to accommodate our situation. I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done! Keep up the good work and to Tanya for making it all happen...much appreciated x

The towers had stains, mattresses were too soft, air conditioner had too much noise. Won't chose this hotel again even for a lower price if there are not improvement.

Room was smaller than what it looked like on website. Need update on carpeting. Need updating on hotel interior. Pool needs work. Hot tub was lukewarm and looked like dirty water. Shower did not have hot water and poor water pressure. …

We stayed at this particular Comfort Inn as it was just minutes away from the Foothills hospital. The staff was fabulous! Room was nice and warm we did not have to fiddle with the temperature and there was no register blowing on and off …

Room was dirty in terms of stained towels, dirty Jacuzzi, stains on the walls and stained bedding. When requested at front desk for the room to be cleaned, they never did tend to it.

poor room conditions and parking lot security. the main part of a room is to feel comfortable, well the heater fan wouldn't shut off and the shower head barely worked.

My stay here was great. The staff was very accommodating and went over and above the call of service. I would highly recommend this hotel. Clean comfortable rooms. Right from the front desk all the way to housekeeping. Very impressed!

Found BED BUGS!!!!!!!!! Manager refused to refund, when I said I am not staying here. Protect yourself and your family and do not bring this back into your home!

Staff was incredibly friendly, the people at the front desk made our check in and check out very smooth. The room was very nice and clean and the pool was a blast. Will definitely be returning!

Room wasn’t serviced on 2nd and 3rd day of stay. No apology or explanation given. Generally ok but not great. Would probably book elsewhere next time I’m in Calgary.

This is the only hotel we will stay at when in the area. Clean,quiet and comfortable

Great location. Room was a bit rundown. Safe did not work and curtains were falling off the rods. This place could use some remodeling and at a minimum a thorough cleaning.

I have been to this hotel maybe 3 times or more and never complained. It probably needs some upgrades. Also, the towels don’t smell fresh.

I slept good but the breakfast was not enough it's half muffin and an apple and juice I did like it at all

Booked a room over spring break specially so my kids could use the pool. I called TWICE explaining this prior to booking my reservation. Agent explained that it’s one hour bookings and the pool was available anytime in the afternoon. I asked for a noon booking and asked if that would be a problem given the check in time. Nope, he said. Upon arrival, I was told that with my noon pool booking, they would need to charge me a $40 early check in fee. The woman at the desk gave no care whatsoever to listen to me. I showed her proof that I called twice to confirm this prior to booking my reservation. When I asked to speak with the manager - she told me he left and was driving and it’s too hard to hear him. I even said - we don’t even need the room - we live in the city and just booked the room to use the pool. We were given no respect, told to come back and 3 or we would have the early check in fee applied. I repeat - I didn’t even need the room. No concessions were offered. In fact, the woman at the front desk appeared robotic in that under zero circumstances could she no “follow the policy” even though the one policy that should have been followed clearly was not - explaining when I called that there would be a fee applied. Given the hurting hotel industry during the Covid-19 pandemic, you would think that customer service and common sense would arise prior to slapping on the “this is our policy” banner. Best of all - when I told her to cancel my room, she made me call the 1-800#! Worst customer service EVER. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Had a great time over at the new Holiday Inn next door.

We love the convenience, location and staff . The main problem is lack of upgrading in the room . It was clean but rundown and tired looking .

Overall great though we had to change rooms due to smoke stench (someone smoking) but it was handled quickly by the front desk staff.

We had a great experience at this hotel. It was very quiet, comfortable and clean. Unknowingly, I forgot my purse in the room. I only realized that it was missing after leaving. When I came back to make inquiries, the staff had my purse waiting for me at the front desk. Super honest! Rita Ramage

Stayed at this hotel as a last resort because our apartment flooded! Hands down most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Blankets were covered with hair, carpet had crumbs and garbage on it, that chair in the room had a disgusting big stain on it. Options and prices on website are misleading! Room had water damage, staff is rude and took almost 3 weeks to hear anything back from management. I can’t believe that in the middle of a pandemic that this hotel could be so poorly cleaned and taken care of! Unless you have extremely low standards I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Literally stayed at MOTELS NICER AND CLEANER THEN THIS PLACE. For your own safety and peace of mind I’d highly recommend any other hotel in Calgary. We refused the to stay at this location and sat on the phone with head office for an hour while In the room taking pictures and because of doing so management isn’t willing to refund us even though they have notice from headquarters we were in contact and on the phone with them the whole time.

Omg this place is a DIVE This was our worst EXPERIENCE. It is obvious the owners are letting this place crash and burn, it's probably been sold and awaiting its evitable wrecking ball demise. WORST OF ALL THE POOR STAFF HAVE TO ADDRESS IRATE CLIENTS! The air conditioner doesn't work, it was like sleeping next to a diesel engine.when it shut off it banged and changed for 20 minutes like someone dropping dishes off the roof! all night ,all day long. It was very unclean and smelled gross. There was hair in the tub, the towel rack was loose and ready to fall. The remote didn't work, the shower only had 1 temperature setting, lumpy pillows,and extremely uncomfortable sofa. Marks and spackle patching all over the walls, the lampshades looked like someone sat on them, the electrical outlets were loose. (MAYBE THEY ARE HOPING IT BURNS DOWN) The elevator felt like it was going to drop. The poor staff had to go next door to the disgusting Ramada Inn for ice! Never ever stay there!! I look forward to the day I see that wrecking ball !

While the front desk staff were welcome and inviting the rooms were not. Shabby and outdated, not particularly clean (food crumbs in microwave from previous guest), not toilet roll holder, hook (not hardware) missing from back of door, loose towel rack... just not well cared for

Probably the best deal on Banff Trail. The room was nice, clean and a good size. My room was upgraded to a suite with a kitchenette, but no utensils or cookware. Great location being literally across the road from the C-train, allowing access to downtown in 15 minutes. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a great place to stay at a good rate.

Definitely not what my past experience has been with Comfort Inn at other locations across Canada.

Family stayed a week because of previous visit... loved hot tub.

It was a perfect stay. I got in late almost midnight and the night manager offered to get me a snack from the breakfast room if I was hungry. I was brought ice to my room and they were extremely helpful after locking myself out of my room 3 times in a row. I would love to stay there again.

Comfort Inn University gave us decent value for the price. Check in and check out was swift. Room was clean. Air conditioning was not too loud and worked well. Free breakfast was pretty good. Breakfast area was quiet and not overcrowded. It is a good go to hotel for a short stay!

Great value for the money. Charming hotel manager (T. Healey). Great idea for offering microwaveable dinners - very progressive and innovative.
