We did the one-night Northern Lights tour with Northern Tales and found our guide to be very professional, knowledgeable, and great at her job. Although we didn't end up seeing the Aurora Borealis, she was wonderful at keeping us "entertained" all evening, by sharing her experiences and knowledge with the group. The location itself seems ideal for viewing, as there is very little light pollution and it provides a broad vista in which to see the night sky, and, if you're lucky, to actually take in the Northern Lights. The company seems very COVID-aware, as they provide hand sanitizer when you get in the vehicle, as well as at the warming hut. You are also required to wear a face mask when indoors, and they limit the number of people allowed on a tour. When you're picked, you're given a reusable shopping bag (thanks for not using plastic!) with lots of snacks! Even though we weren't able to see the Lights, we felt very happy with the quality of the tour and would recommend it to others.

Had the best time with their tour operator, Tas! He picked us up from the hotel and took us near laberge lake to view the northern lights. While we waited for the lights, he had a heated cabin with drinks and snacks ready as well as a fire outside. He kept us engaged the whole time and even took free professional pictures to commentate the experience which he then shared online. This was our first time visiting Whitehorse and he even went out of his way to suggest an itinerary for the following day so we could explore neighbouring areas. Definitely book with him if you can!

The tour includes round-trip transportation, and in the Auroras area there are snacks, hot drinks and two warm cabins for those who can't stand the cold, they also make a fire. The tour was from 10 pm to 2:00 am. Bring a good camera or a cell phone in which you can adjust the ISO and the photography time to be able to see when the Aurora Borealis is occurring (although the guides warn you it is cool to capture it with your device) Thank you Northern Tales !! ???? What a spectacular experience this was on the 3-night Aurora Borealis Tour. The team at Northern Tales all went above and beyond to make this trip extra special. We enjoyed nightly Aurora Viewings at a cozy rustic cabin where we enjoyed laughs by the fire, incredible views of the sky above, and luckily the Aurora Borealis graces us with her presence! A big thank you to our guides Aaron, Kata, Atsushi and Natsushi who all were incredible and made our trip one of a lifetime. Highly recommend Northern Tales for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Whitehorse and the Aurora Borealis!

I participated in their tour 2 nights and I met amazing aurora in the 2nd day. one of the guide was a professional photographer and he kindly told me how to take photos of aurora. it was so nice an experience with friendly guides and other participants. The only one regrettable point was that there was no running water (though they have antiseptic liquid)and i was incapable of washing my hands after going to restrooom... (that's why I didn't pick up snacks with my hands).

The service of this tour is excellent. The tour guide is so friendly. They respond so fast through email. It’s a safety tour if one of the member gets sick, they won’t allow til they get a proof of covid test. They provide a house and snacks during watching Aurora as well. If you can’t see the Aurora, they will ask you to do another activity like snowshoeing or light painting. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend them. Very friendly and supportive team. This tour is an absolute must-go as you will experience splendid moments seeing the northern lights, husky rush, and the wildlife refuge. Tom is an amazing and patient tour guide. Only take warm clothing and you're all set! Note: there's no Uber in Whitehorse, but since the Best Western Gold Rush Hotel is located in the downtown, you will be able to walk around the city or call a cab.

Like most people, we came to the Yukon hoping to see the Northern Lights. We did a viewing tour with Northern Tales and had a great time. The friendly staff were on hand to give tips on how to get the best photos. When the lights were dim, we got to warm up in 2 “wall tents” - the type of shelter used by the early settlers and gold miners. Each shelter had free snacks and a stove for hot drinks. When the lights were bright, everyone ran out to take photos and enjoy seeing the lights.

We had an awesome night viewing the Northern lights with Northern Tales. With temperatures below -20 it was nice to have the use of the warming hut, the hot drinks and the snacks. We recommend this company to anyone planning to see the lights.

My daughter and I did the Sourdough Rendezvous & Aurora Borealis Package and it was fantastic! Everything was well organized, the guides were very nice, helpful and knowledgeable and we had a wonderful time. We particularly loved the hot springs and we got to see some Northern Lights. A great success! I highly recommend this package.

We had a great time on two Northern Tales tours - the northern lights viewing experience and the wildlife preserve / hot springs. Although we didn't see the aurora, we enjoyed the cozy cabins with the warm fires and the many hot drinks. The tour guides were really friendly and knowledgeable. The Wildlife Preserve was incredible and it was great to be able to jump in and out of the warm bus. The hot springs were nice and relaxing but I wouldn't stay for more than an hour (which is how long we stayed on the tour). Overall really happy with both experiences and the Northern Tales guides were great.

Highly recommend! We took the 5 days winter adventure trip, and it did not disappoint us. As expected the northern lights were stunning but surprisingly the full day snowmobiling across the vast untouched lake with an awesome guide was the highlight of our trip.

The Aurora viewing basecamp is great. Cozy cabins, outdoor fire pit, snacks and hot drinks available (as are outhouses for the brave). The guides are fantastic, if the viewing is poor they are quick to offer constellation discussion, maple toffee tasting, stories and anecdotes. They also offer durable tripods for those doing photos!

From pick up at the airport to dropping us off at the end of the trip and everything in between, they made this one of the best vacations I've been on. Our tour guides were very caring and friendly! They made sure that we had snacks and hot drinks while waiting in the cozy cabin. They also taught us basic camera settings so we can take the best pictures of the Aurora. I can't speak highly enough of the staff and the tour experience!!????????. 10stars!
