Spent a weekend diving with Sea Dragon Charters. Can't say enough good things about them, from the very beginning communication to the last dive off their boat, everything was professional. It was my wife and I first time diving without a guide and Sea Dragon staff made us very comfortable and confident. Had a great weekend on their boat, lots of great dive sites and great fun. Hot soup in-between dives was also a bonus. Would highly recommend Sea Dragon Charters.

Sea Dragon Charters are the best charter company in Vancouver. Jan & Kevin are extremely knowledgable, experienced, and very friendly owners. The Topline is the best dive boat in BC - spacious, has an onboard compressor for air fills, a large top deck with BBQ, kayaks, rental gear (handy if you forget something), and they serve soup and hot drinks in the winter! If you've never seen Howe Sound by boat, this is the way. Jump on a kayak, throw on a snorkel and mask, and sea the stunning fjords of British Columbia in all their glory. A first class charter operator, with great people, and a great boat.

A friend and I found the excursion on a travel site and booked it before we flew out to Vancouver. We're d been looking forward to it for weeks. Horseshoe Bay is easily accessible from downtown and is a quaint little town tucked behind the mountains. We arrived at 1 and were on the boat by 2. The experience overall was surreal with the landscape, wildlife, and people. It was one of the most memorable experiences of the trip and was honestly just a blast. Everyone should do this. It's worth the investment. It exceeded all our expectations.

We had an amazing near private experience, in which we had the chance to stay almost as close as 3 feet from curious seals, and the water wasn't even that cold either. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I am really glad I went with them for my first cold water experience and dives. As a diver, an instructor and dive operator myself, I have to give them credits. Their setup is good in term of convenient, safety and comfort. Kevin and all staffs - Alek, Justin and Brian were helpful and very considerate which I seldom find in many places nowadays. This shop came highly recommended by a dive mentor of mine- but I couldn’t ever line up a charter with my weird schedule. We limped into Horseshoe Bay on a sailboat and I needed to get under the boat to clean off some stuff that accumulated over the whole COvID thing. I went in a little apprehensive since I’m just some dude off the street- and needed to rent “everything.” It was an unplanned dive so I had absolutely nothing with me- Jan (who I later learned was one of or the owner) and Jude took incredibly good care of me- treating me like they’d known me for years. Friendly, accommodating and a rental inventory that was better than my normal dive gear. I was blown away- Was just a simple dive rental- but I felt welcomed and that is huge points for me. Thanks to Jan and Jude for making it an awesome experience. I hope I’ll catch one of your charters in the near future!

We loved our trip. We got to see up close at least a hundred seals. They were very curious to see us. We got to swim up very close to them. Justin was a great tour guide. We did both kayaking and snorkeling. This was a truly wonderful trip and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone who travels to Vancouver.

I went with my wife, two teenage children, and my parents who are in their 80's. I was not sure what to expect at first, but we had a terrific time and built a really good memory! Captain Kevin and the crew were great, and we really enjoyed our afternoon in the water. We tried paddle boards and kayaks for the first time, after snorkelling by a seal colony out by some rocks. I would highly recommend this activity if you are looking for an adventure that you will always remember that is unique to the ocean. We are from Alberta. We had a fun time and glad that we did it.

They ask you to be there an hour before the trip, when you get to their shop, they'll ask you to fit wetsuits, fins, and the other equipment (Jude, their on duty staff was super friendly and helpful), then they'll take you to their big boat for the actual guided trip which would last around 4 hours (2-6pm) We first went snorkelling at Pam Rocks and yes, there were a lot of seals and seal pups ???? Then we went to another spot where we could go kayaking or paddleboarding ???? It's a great way to meet new people and try something new in summer. *bring a gopro if you want pictures ???? *I booked though tripadvisor because their website wasn't working. *you can book their whole boat for a private guided tour for $1150 (which is around 115 each if you have 10 people in your group)

Amazing experience! I would recommend this to anyone and I would love to take another tour with them. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable. They got us fitted in our wetsuits, helped us make adjustments, and offered as much or as little help as we needed. We saw a ton of seals and got pretty close. This is a must try experience. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I took a much needed getaway and decided to book a snorkel and kayak trip with Sea Dragon Charters. It was our first time in Canada as well as our first time snorkeling and kayaking. We weren’t sure what to expect but were lucky enough to have great weather and be surrounded by seals swimming around us as we snorkeled...which was amazing! Our tour guide Justin was outstanding and very informative about the area, wildlife, and how to properly put on all of your gear and navigate around the island. He made the trip and I highly recommend this company if you come to West Vancouver. You will not be disappointed.

I've been on Topline a (more than a) few times out of Vancouver (most recently the first day of recreational diving on the Annapolis) and every time has been an awesome experience. The crew know just about every site in Howe Sound and are able to give you a very detailed briefing on what to expect what to see etc. Onboard air fills for your surface interval, soup and drinks, and wonderful scenery make the experience extremely enjoyable! So, if you want the best diving possible in Vancouver, book a boat dive and go see some epic stuff!

Excellent customer service from Kevin and Alec. I was coming for two late evening and night dives and live in Chilliwack and needed to rent gear. Their shop closes at 7pm and I really didn't want to drive out the next day and spend 3 hours driving back and forth to return gear. I explained my situation and asked if there was a way to drop off late and Kevin offered to meet me at the shop for 10pm (I got there at 1020pm) and he was happy to do it. He told me he was just happy we were out there diving. Awesome people running this business. I will for sure recommend them to my friends and use them again on my next dive. Thanks again!

One of the best charters I've been to. The boat was not full so they had more time to cater to my buddy and I. We had two dives in the HMCS Annapolis. In between dives, we were served with soup and hot chocolate. 5/5 would recommend and would definitely come back for more dives.

Great tour guides! Great experience all around. I did the seal kayak and snorkel package. Met lots of nice people and had an amazing time. You will see lots of seals and they swam pretty close to us. Nice snacks were provided on board and all the gear needed was provided for you (wetsuit, goggles, snorkel, socks, gloves, flippers). We had a rainy day and the trip was still 10/10!

Wonderful crew and a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Captain Kevin, Brian and Jay guided us through Howe Sound with great vibes and care. I got to snorkel and try out both kayaking and SUP, seeing seals and their pups up close (we were advised to approach as quietly as possible, and I appreciate Sea Dragon's respectful approach to nature -- also the care they take in briefing their passengers on safety, including COVID-19 measures and what to expect). A bald eagle and deer also made special appearances. Highly recommended for an exciting yet low-key excursion, perfect for staycations.

This was one of the best adventure charters my family and I had ever been on, and it was because of the people. We did the 5 hour snorkel and kayak tour, which was pretty cool. We swam with seals, kayaked around 50 foot forested islands, and at the end jumped off of the boats roof into the bay! They gave us a lot of freedom, and they were super accommodating to everyone. They gave us soup, granola bars, sodas, and beers while we were boating from spot to spot. The crew was awesome, and we became friendly with everyone on the boat. Afterwards, the crew invited us out for beers at the pub across the street, and almost the whole tour joined. We ate poutine and had beers and all told stories about where we are from! I highly recommend this tour, because the employees that work there are great people and they will ensure that you’ll have a great time.

Went on the kayak and snorkeling with seals tour last weekend and it was the most amazing experience! The staff was amazing so friendly and helpful and knowledgable about the area. The price was super low. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! I will be back asap!

I never even put on a wet-suit before the tour, and they were helpful through the whole process. The tour took us through different islands to visit seal colonies and it was an amazing experience. The staff were so kind and informative and we were supplied snacks and soup in between visits. I'm vegetarian however they were still able to provide different options so I didn't need to worry about packing anything. I'd describe the water as "refreshing" because it wasn't too cold and all the gear was comfortable. We got to see a ton of seals although we didn't get too close in respect of the wildlife. The boat had enough room for all of us and during the transport time we were able to take off our wet-suits or gear if we wanted to be more comfortable. The staff were amazing and we had such a good time with our group, I wholeheartedly enjoyed the experience and hope to come again sometime, completely worth it.

We had a blast on this trip. The boat and crew were excellent. Getting fitted for our wetsuits was much easier than I expected. We saw a lot of seals and were in the water with them. They mostly stayed about 20 feet or more from us so we weren't exactly swimming with them, but they were all around us. We ended up not snorkeling because we couldn't see more than a few feet in front of us because the water was cloudy. It was fun to also kayak and use the paddle boards after being in the water. I'd highly recommend this trip!

Wow what an incredible day! My wife and I went on the Kayak trip where you get to meet wild seals. There were so many of them! They are such funny little guys. The boat crew was amazing! They let us kayak around and also ride a paddle board. Incredibly friendly group! They even let us jump off the top of the boat. An incredible trip that we will remember forever! Good times

New to this part of the world, a local friend took me out here today to explore Horseshoe Bay and go snorkeling and kayaking out on the Bay. The staff in the shop were great and helpful with a range of questions, and the crew on the boat made the day an excellent time out on the water. Being able to get close to the sea lions while in the water was fantastic, and taking the kayaks out in the Bay to explore was a highlight too. Be sure to plan a good half day out for this, and a visit to a local place for dinner afterwards will compliment a great day in this part of Vancouver.

10/10 would recommend Sea Dragon as a place to learn to dive, and to continue whatever diving education you’ve started. I’ve completed my open water and advanced open water cert through them, as well as the drysuit and Enriched Air certs. I’m looking forward to continue learning through the wreck, deep, and rescue diver certifications! Tess, Jan, Kevin, Gavin, and the rest of the staff were fantastic facilitators, and Tess’s instruction was clear, fun, and demonstrated her incredible experience in both diving and teaching. A shout out to Tanya, who was assisting in teaching the course, for offering tons of small tips and tricks, and who has a subtle way of offering advice in the most unassuming ways possible. A nice bonus is that Sea Dragon often offers two boat dives to accompany the open water diver course (buoyancy skills dependent) to facilitate drysuit certification, and also for the experience. The boat they own is one of the few (the only?) boat set up to do full dive charters in Vancouver, so it’s a nice touch that sets them apart from other local dive stores. It’s a comfortable and fun way to be introduced to the phenomenal local diving! Jan and Kevin are obviously passionate about the diving community, and it’s been a pleasure to get to know them. Safety and running a business of integrity are clearly at the top of their list of priorities. They’ve done a good job of adapting to the pandemic and are clear about the safety precautions in place. They are knowledgeable about the products they sell and stand behind their gear. I’m looking forward to continue diving with them in the very near future!

Even though it was a very gloomy and raining day, it was an amazing trip! We saw so many seals. It was really cold but they gave us wet suits and gloves and socks to wear to keep warm. Jude, Mathias and Kevin drove the boat out, and were our guides. They were such amazingly friendly people. Jude especially was really friendly and great to talk to. I highly recommend booking with this company!

We started with a warm reception at the front desk and so much help getting comfortable in our wet suits. The sea adventure was thrilling, Bazz explained all the protocols and was tremendously accommodating of everyone on the tour. Our group alone had 6 and not one of us felt a excluded. He watched over all 12 of us on the boat like a mother seal protecting her young (had to throw that in there ????) The captain (forgive me for not remembering your name, perhaps Kevin?) was amazing, so knowledgeable and always vigilant. We had some in our group who were not the greatest swimmers but not once did we ever feel worried, so don't let that hold you back. It was magical to see the seals swim around you so up close. They even did some flips out of the water! All in all everyone was so laid back and I'll remember the experience for life!

I had an amazing adventure with these guys. The guides were fantastic! We got up and personal while we snorkel with the seals. Saw a couple seal pups too, which was great. They served hot soup and granola bars for lunch. After lunch, we went paddle-boarding and kayaking. Highly recommend this trip for any adventure seekers out there. The only downside to this trip was putting on the wet-suit, which can be a struggle.

We had a terrific tour yesterday. We came with a friend's family and we were two ladies and four children (7, 8, 13 and 15). We were a little nervous at first as none of us were experienced in kayaking and there were two little ones. But thanks to our wonderful capitain/tour guide, everyone had such an amzing experience paddling through the seneric bay. The two little ones were so excited that they could paddle their own kayak! The view along the way was breathtaking and we saw lots of seals sunbathing on the bank and also sea stars on rocks. How cute! Our capitain/guide was extremely nice and experienced, and he made everyone safe and comfortable. It was an increadible experience for all of us. I would highly recommend it to everyone and we would love to come back. Thank you so much!

Went diving with the seals last year. They did find us seals to dive with. However they gave me a 3mm wet suit in 46degree water. I was shocked by how cold it was and how much I struggled to breathe just from being so cold. The wetsuit never warmed up and my dive was done within 10min. In response. You are correct the others had fun. The fact that you try and redirect my problem by saying the others had fun is dismissive of my problem, like my issue doesnt matter you. I was the only one in a suit that thin however, and that was the problem. My wife was suited fine and enjoyed herself. I was not suited properly, spent a whack to go out and freeze until I couldn't take it anymore. Staff was nice but that was my worst experience in Vancouver. I wrote the review so if they do choose you they make sure they are taken care of and not left freezing on the boat while everyone else enjoys themselves. Sorry it was late. But I'm clearly that disappointed 9 months later, I don't write many reviews and you're my first negative one.

I surprised my Boyfriend with this trip and it was the most amazing experience we have ever had together so far. Justin and the crew took us snorkeling and they were very knowledgeable. Kevin was our Captain and he was great! We had many questions since we would like to become divers and they all answered our questions with a big smile and lots of enthusiasm! I dont usually write reviews, but I was compelled to do so for this experience. This is a great company that knows how to deliver a great experience; Kevin the owner/operator and his entire staff were amazing from start to finish. We couldn't have asked for a better experience all around! We had a beautiful day exploring our own city by boating in Howe sound, swimming, kayaking, SUP-ing around seals, watching eagles dive for fish and generally being surrounded by the best Vancouver has to offer! We didn't end up snorkeling as the visibility in the water isn't as good in the summer, and although they were all around us, we weren't able to feel like we were actually 'swimming' with the seals, but it was cool anyway to see them in the water near us. Kevin and team, were very attentive to the needs of our group, from those who needed a floatie to those wanting more soup! Top notch experience and highly recommend for tourists and locals alike !!

I can't tell you how amazing our experience was with Sea Dragon Charters 2 weekends ago but I'll try! Captain Kevin was the best. Witty and full of knowledge, he kept us smiling the entire time! And Josh was great, too. I was struggling a bit at the beginning of the snorkel session and it turned out my fins were too loose and falling off. He fixed them up real quick (in the water) and we went looking for seals. What an awesome experience! My favorite part, however, was the kayaking portion. I came up on 3 seals and got pretty close to them. I plan to go again next year and can't wait!!
