We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The food was great and the service was excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone

This hotel was disgusting! It stunk in the lobby so bad, even through the mask that it almost made your eyes water. The employees should not have to work in that stink. The hotel was extremely dirty and the carpets throughout were filthy. The door to the roof was propped open during our whole weekend stay which is such a hazard if someone decided to go out on it and throw themselves off after seeing the state of the hotel. In a suite that sleeps six, they left two towels and 1 roll of toilet paper. The sliding glass door to the balcony did not lock and was so dirty that you could barely see out of it. This is the kind of hotel where u leave your shoes on in the room. Do not be fooled by the fancy looking website. The one positive....comfy beds.

Pet friendly with an awesome little outdoor area for them to have a supervised play. Awesome staff. Pool is warm and comforting. Food was excellent in the restaurant. We had an excellent stay. I highly recommend this hotel if you had pets.

TLDR: Hotel has such poor acoustic control so talking/TV will possibly bleed through into your room, bring a brown noise generator so you can get to sleep. Clean & comfy though. 2* without using a white/brown noise machine. 3* using one. This hotel if it wasnt for 1 factor, it would be a no brainer staying here, because it's good value, clean. And that is....whomever built the hotel all those years ago appears to have forgotten about, or didnt care about, acoustic mitigation. So a 3 star is kinda a 'meh' score. Being in the construction trade, I notice and feel details. This hotels MAJOR PROBLEM (at least in room I was allocated) is they desperately need acoustic mitigation. Funny thing is? It's not that hard or expensive to do. They would just need to buy some acoustic drywal - Quietrock - even the base stuff is better than nothing but I bet they need the THX heavy duty rated stuff. Close a room at a time, remove baseboard, construction adheisive the drywall to the existing drywall, tape and mud the seams, baseboard, paint. BAM. That wasnt so hard was it? Ok so impressions from first to last. Lobby - does the job. Corridors, perhaps a lick of paint here and there and some cosmetic touch ups. Room: flip light on. Huh...hoo boy its a bit cheesy but it's only 75 bucks or so including tax. Giant Lay Z Boy chair....kay... bit out of place and you need to be a basketball player to get comfy in those. Remove them please. They take up too much room and you need to be a giant so your legs actually touch the floor sitting in one. As for the rest of the room, the 90's called and they want their furniture back. But seriously, meh...it's in good repair, and who cares for 75 bux right. Turn on some lights...kay, 1 bed light doesnt work, next one, kay....that doesnt work either. Oh...they are both UNPLUGGED & 1 behind the bed you have to fish out the extension for....o--kay. Guess the chamber maid only wanted to use those sockets for the vacuum!??! The curtains are....blinds. But they work so meh. Get some work done.... Later...TV. Wow. Actually had good news channels, Fox News and the TV looked very good! Not a blurry over saturated painfully bright mess most hotels look like. Good job! Bathroom. Ah...the old so small the door swings into the toilet area kneecapping anyone sitting there. Good design - not. Ceiling was...interesting. Bedtime....ahhhh.... what a nice bed! Lights out! Huh? Someone talking? Wha? Either side? Now noise from above? Is that a man and a woman doing a thing that only adults do? Yes it is! ***MY GOD HOW THIN ARE THESE WALLS?!*** Construction me, flips on a light, gets up, and starts tapping the drywall. Yep, sounds as hollow as a drum. Download a brown noise generator on the ipad, run it all night to drown out the conversations that I could roughly previously follow. Until they fix the acoustic issue. Avoid staying there for sleeps. Using a room for anything else, say a daytime biz bolt hole, or using the conference rooms is feasable. Just not a sleeper hotel right now, sorry folks. I reccomend the Days Inn a block up, I packed up and moved up to that the 2nd night rather than have to play "guess what they are talking about" game.

Absolutely disgusting, dirty, rotting plumbing in tub. Hair everywhere! Not following Covid19 protocols! Never again!!!

Driving up to the hotel it didn’t seem too bad and entering the front lobby i still had high hopes, but my first disappointment was seeing there was no elevator for my family to bring our large amount of luggage to our room. The second disappointment i was met with was upon opening the door to our room we see that the design is severely outdated with stains and scuffs all over the room. Thirdly an ac that hardly works and no alternate rooms for us to be more comfortable. On top of that the vending machines, pool, restaurant and pub were all out of commission so that was a large disappointment. They attempted to advertise this hotel wayyyy better than it actually is on the websites. The staff did make theirs best attempt in helping us so i won’t put the blame on them but the hotel as a collective largely disappointed me and my family with our stay and i doubt we’ll be back.

The service is horrible ???? My check in was for after 3pm which I arrived aprox 4:30pm as the clerk took my information and stated that my room wasn't ready! I was upset and stated that it should be ready for my arrival time. Dalton stated that they are short staffed and they can't do anything about it in a rude manner. I had to wait an hour !!! So we decided to go and get something to eat they finally after an hour called to let me know that the room was ready. So we proceed to the hotel got finally checked in. I had asked Dalton if there was a trolley that we can use to bring our stuff in and he said that they are all in use and there is no one to help me. Upon inspection on my room I found 2 dirty rags in the bathroom I had them come and clean that. There is no shampoo and conditioner.A small soap and a small bottle of lotion was on the counter. Also there was only one bath towel I had asked for more towels and pillows and that never happened. They have breakfast in a brown bag which consists of juices granola bars and DAD'S cookies that were expired in April 2021. I will not be returning!!!

Not a bad place, average at best. The staff are efficient and friendly. If you do get a room there, you'll be very comfortable but make sure to bring slippers. You won't want to walk barefoot on their carpets. They need to be cleaned and the laundry could use something to get blood out.

The Village Green is my go-to hotel when I travel to Vernon. This trip was great, very quiet & peaceful over the Christmas weekend. The staff were wonderful & we appreciate them working over Christmas to make sure everyone staying here had a great stay!

I have travelled immensely and have also worked front desk myself and I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They all work together as if they are family and treat there guests like family! I have been here for a week now and they go out of their way to help you. I am staying a few more weeks as I have just started a new job in Vernon and wouldn’t dresm of going anyway else. Yes they are doing renovations throughout the hotel but you wouldnt know it. Has not disturbed the guests at all. My fridge in room broke down and they couldnt get me a new one fast enough! My room was spotlessly clean when I arrived. My cat and I dont want to leave. I cant say enough good things about this hotel and staff. I cant find one fault other than some of the other disrespectful guests! I would highly recommend this hotel and say cudos to the owner and his staff for a wonderful job during these difficult Covid times!! 5 thumbs up!!!!

Worst management team. Completely Liar team. We booked a 2 queen bedroom for 3 nights starting July 1st to July 4th, 2021. When we got to the room, we found there was only one queen bed, air condition was not working while the outside temperature is 45 degrees Celcius. When we informed the front desk representative, he told us that he called us half an ago to inform us about the AC. The front desk guy was a big Liar. He did not call us. Then we wanted a refund, he gave us a paper saying he refunded the money. After 15 days we found he did not even refund the money. Then we call the hotel again and the front desk representative told us she will talk to their manager and call us back. She has not called us back yet. What a liar, hypocrite management team. Very very disappointed. Never will book with this hotel chain again.

Nice and comfortable hotel. In the two nights stay the staff was really nice and kind. The room well maintained and clean.

Phil Dailey

Good place to stay .. still can improve on the interior quality such as the washrooms and room presentation

Jeff O'Hara

The rooms were so loud! I could hear conversations in the next room and every time you flush the pipes make a diabolical sound! Don't recommend staying here, specially because it is not cheap!

Very friendly staff. I had a room with two queen size beds on the main level. I didn't like that the light in the patio/courtyard area was on all night and I was not able to block out the light. This may bother other light sleepers. The hotel has a gym (large fully equipped), pool and jacuzzi. Unfortunately the pool/jacuzzi area was under renovation. Yet the place was advertised to have them. For a person doing a two week long ski trip this was a big factor for booking the hotel and I was quite disappointed. The hotel does NOT come with free breakfast. It's incorrectly posted on the google review page. For the inconvenience, they supplied us with three 50% discount vouchers on breakfast at their restaurant. For skiers it may be worth noting that there really isn't a good spot for drying boots or clothing. Heating is with air. When it turns on, it's just as loud as the bathroom fan.

Great price, clean, friendly, good parking, good food.

Many amenities were closed due to COVID. Rooms were a great size to fit our large family but the hotel definitely needs some updates.

Ashley McGillivray

3 days no heat The room was not that clean

Tabi No-Ko

Our stay was really lovely. Anmol greated us kindly and checked us in efficiently. The hotel is clean and well kept. Beds were comfy and the room was quiet. The staff were very helpful and we felt well taken care of. Thanks so much.

RAVI GUZADHUR

Not fancy but comfy beds, clean decent prices, great for pets. Friendly service. Stayed from May13th and checked out on 16th. Kelowna hospital trip.

We stayed here in August and were very disappointed with our stay. The lobby appears to have been re done and looks nice, our room however was not great. The carpets were heavily stained and dirty, to the point where we didn't want our baby crawling on them. There were also bare telephone wires piled on the floor beside a bed (which the baby found as we were unpacking) Telephone wires carry a small voltage, very unsafe. When we mentioned these things to the front desk the next morning, we weren't even offered an apology, and it was basically brushed off saying they would just leave a note for maintenance. We will not be staying there again.

Sarah Boyd

Great hotel has access to full gym hot tub, pool sauna very well priced compared to other hotels in the area that do not come close to the amount of amenities offered here. Mathew the front desk guy was extremely helpful with all my questions and concerns and helped me out!

Great service when we called for availability last minute, and someone was greeting us right away with a friendly hello as we entered the building. The beds were clean, room was tidy and smelled clean. Our stay included a small brown paper bag breakfast which was cute. We had breakfast elsewhere, but kept the paper bag contents for snacks later in our travels. Coffee is available to make in the room, of course! Only minor con: The floor wasn't vacuumed. The price is great for what you get. Would definitely stay here again!

I don't know how there can be any bad reviews. Very nice comfortable room and incredible price. Best room in town at less then half the price

Terrible hotel. Thief. Stayed for 20+ days. Caulking around tub came loose and water was sipping in. Told front desk, they moved us to a different room. Said 2-3 days. Took 5. Moved us back. Same thing happen 3 days after. And we told them once again, they ignore the problem. By the time we checked out. They charged us damage deposit for water tub damage and caulking. (It’s maintain eye). And said curtains were damage and blow dryer broken which was never used. And on top of that manager it’s never around. Took the deposit, 1 year ago and still waiting for reply. Check everything before spending the night. The chance they get to charge you they will.

Pool - closed, hot tub - closed, restaurant - closed, pub - closed. Breakfast consists of a brown bag with juice box, granola bar, cookies and canned fruit. Staff did not follow covid protocols and made it awkward for me to feel safe visiting family in the hospital. I ended up checking out a day early due to this and the lack of rest. Beds are incredibly hard and streets are noisy. Really disappointed, I expected so much more from their website.

Booked a room for 6 adults as it was publicize at the hotel.ca website and the Riviera Plaza hotel website but when we arrived, we found out that the beds ate only for 4 people. The receptionist dealt with us in a very rude way and refused to let us to talk to a manager. The room is dirty and the curtains were broken. The breakfast was a bag that has couple of cookies and the worst juice we ever had. The hotel send us a survey in Spanish although we are in Canada. Save your money and don't ruin your holiday by avoiding the Rievirra Plaza & Conference in Vernon, BC

The hotel staff were super friendly, couldn't have asked for better service. The hotel itself is tired, the building seems to be at the end of its life or at least in need of major overhaul. I've stayed in many cost friendly hotels but I think this was the first I felt uncomfortable in. The room felt/was dirty and had a very undesirable smell, it smelled like some sort of deodorizer used to cover up bad smells but the two scents combined to create something worse. The room was pet friendly so perhaps the hotels non pet friendly units are in better shape but the room we stayed I'm was rough, I wouldn't stay there again. I rarely write reviews but this one made me want to warn potential future guests considering pet friendly room at this place.

Aldona Pennock

It was great because the young front desk gentleman were so friendly and happy. After a long day on the road it's always warm to feel some sincere energy. Unfortunate the gym was not part of the accommodations like it was in the past. ????

The room I was in wasn’t awful but it wasn’t the best place I’ve stayed. The coffee pot was still dirty and the sprinkler had paper towel it( which is not safe or legal) the blinds were ripped there are holes/dents in the wall also the ceiling in the bathroom is peeling there was a trap door in the ceiling. There is also a door for a joining room which made me feel uneasy. I will not be staying here again Although the staff was very friendly.

Fairly large and quiet room.

Stayed during Canada day long weekend and it was quite loud all night and into the early morning hours of the morning due to parties - softball tournament going on. We did get warned that it could be loud due to parties that weekend but still wasn't prepared for a party that long. Toilet was backed up but quickly fixed. Service overall was good but can't say we enjoyed our stay.

really nice hotel. we had a room on the courtyard so had breakfast outside. great pool. opposite supermarket for supplies. 10min drive to the beaches on both the big lakes. nice pool too.

Waleed Elmalawany

Sewage smell and 25 minute check in. As soon as we walked in my wife wanted to leave. The deodorizer smelled like public downtown washroom. Employees courteous but unless you own a pet don’t stay.

The room was clean enough. Upon arrival to the room, there was no toilet paper. When I finally got the phone to work, front desk asked me to come down the 6 floors to pick some up. I had some items to place in the fridge but it was not working. The ice machine was not working either (due to covid). I tried calling down to the front desk a couple times again but as I learned the next morning they turned their ringer off for the night. In the morning, the coffee machine was not working either. Their breakfast bag consisted of a couple granola bars, bottle of warm orange juice, and a fruit cup with no spoon.

Rashmi Milothra

It was clean and quiet,it is old but I was allowed to have my pet and they had a bit of.a fence area for you take them potty right outside your patio so that was nice didn't have to walk thru the hotel ,didn't get any breakfast like they advertised but that's okay with covid I understand. And the.person on the front last night was very friendly and courtesy and helpful to .

Nehul Bhambri

We booked for 4 adults in a single room and seriously we only get 2 very tiny boxes of soap and 1 small tube for lotion and shampoo. We checked in at 10pm coming from Kelowna tours and we are so tired of going out of the hotel to buy from convenience stores. And there were no FREE breakfast just because we booked thru online booking?!..BUT before we did the online booking we called the hotel directly and inquired which has better deals between online and direct website bookings and the front desk personnel said it doesnt matter because the offers are the same. Our stay could have been better if thru the call we were informed right away of the deal we were about to get thru booking on online hotel booking websites.

The worst room I’ve ever stayed in. There were stains on the carpet. The blinds were sticky and looked like a liquid was spilled on them and wasn’t cleaned off. There were dead bugs on the sliding door frame. The bed was dipped it needed replacing u cud see it bend if u got down the floor and looked under the bed. I dropped something and had to go under. The pillows were low quality felt used and needed replacing. The sheets like unclean. The vents were overly dirty. The standard rooms need an upgrade the walls and decorations looked a few decades old Not even vintage chic like ur grandmas artwork old. The lack of color in the room reminded me of a hospital room. The bagged breakfast they offer was a cookie, fruit cup, orange juice and a peanut butter granola bar with motts fruit gummies.

Roger Gibbons

Had a catered lunch, consisting if honey & garlic chicken. The service was excellent, however the meal had no flavor, the rice was dry and cold. I will not recommend to friends.

Abdulla Masum

The video shows just how disgusting this place is. There was hair IN the bed, in the shower, the door was unlocked. Stuff stuck in the walls and ceiling...ice machine didn't work...we put the "maid service" sign up, and it was ignored, asked for additional towels at front desk, none came. My recommendation...stay somewhere else...

Adam Kryzanowski

The fountain at polson park is clean than then the bathroom at this hotel.would rather pitch a tent down town Vernon then stay the night at this dump.

William Lin

Due to Covid there was no housekeeping at all and the included breakfast was a brown bag that had to be picked up from the front desk. Our room key would not unlock our door on 2 occasions in the afternoon and we had to go down from the 6th floor.

D Suelt

If I could give this review zero stars I would. Stay away from this place. Air conditioning wasn’t working, not enough pillows (asked for more was never brought any) pool was closed which you were not told about at check in, ice machine was broken, restaurant & liquor store were closed. The room was dirty and still had left over dog hair on chair and human hair in bathroom. Tub was dirty. Found a dirty Kleenex filled with something brown behind bedside table. Water in the room smelt like dirt. Could hear everyone’s showers turn on as well as people walking down the hallway and in rooms. My husband was unpacking the car and was getting harassed by a homeless person who threatened him. No trollys to carry in luggage. No hand sanitizer or anything. Wiped the room down with Lysol wipes and ended up with very dirty wipes. We paid for 2 nights but there was no way we could let our two small children stay there another night.

Sharon Pullar

Absolutely horrible. My girlfriend & I booked here after being deceived by some of the reviews & nice pictures on google. We were informed check in was at 3pm but upon arrival found out our room wasn’t quite ready yet we didn’t have a problem with that. The lady at the front desk gave us another room on the second floor but failed to inform us that the elevator did not go to the second floor as it was a wing of the hotel only accessed by stairs. We then asked to be changed rooms again because we had a lot of luggage to carry in & 4 flights of stairs would be incredibly inconvenient. We were then switched to a room on the fifth floor & we thought our problems were solved. Upon entering the room the air immediately smelled musky & stale which we could have overlooked if the carpet in the room hadn’t smelled of cigarettes. To further complicate things, upon entering the bathroom one of the lightbulbs was burnt out leaving only a faint illumination but still enough to clearly see the yellow stains around the circumference of the bath tub nicely paired with the family of moths camped out near the light & the clothing of a previous guest still hung on the bathroom door. It then became very clear that the room hadn’t been cleaned. We immediately called down to the front desk & asked to cancel our stay, while on hold I glanced down behind the night stand to find a pile of trash (gum, wrappers, & various other things). The lady at the front desk said she had informed the manager & he would call us soon. After 20 minutes we went down to speak to the manager as he still had not called us. The manager didn’t believe us at first & asked to check the room & after doing so offered us a refund. He refunded us a partial amount of the reservation & said we had to get the rest from Expedia. Upon contacting Expedia they informed us that the hotel said that we had stayed the entire duration & could not refund us. When we attempted to contact the hotel they avoided our calls saying they were too busy for refunds. Absolutely garbage customer service, garbage accommodations & if I could give negative stars there wouldnt be enough of them I could give to this hotel & their management.

Stayed here many times when it was the Village Green and it was a nice lower end place to stay but this hotel is absolutely terrible under the new management! Our room key wouldn't work, when we finally got in the room was very dirty, the heat and A/C was so noisy you couldn't sleep with it running, the bathroom was dirty, towels were questionable if they were properly cleaned, and the TV didn't work. All around it was a OK place to sleep but by no means good or anywhere near as good as this place should be or as good as it was in the past. Avoid this place if possible!

Adrian Wong

Older hotel but rooms are clean. Bring earplugs as soundproofing not that great. You cannot beat the price if you want a basic clean room and comfortable beds.

Earl McTavish

Not accepting government issued vouchers for wildfire evacuees is disgusting. Do not stay here. Turning away people that have government money to stay there is ridiculous. I believe that this hotel is going to see this was a massive mistake on there part

J L

Rooms were very good price, spacious and ok beds. But there was some very dilapidated parts and some areas within the room that needed some deep cleaning (ie. near the handle on the inside of the bathroom door was black with grime). Friendly staff. I didn’t like that they scanned each guests ID for their records “for covid and safety” -I don’t trust that information to be hosted securely enough nor deleted appropriately after 14 days after checkout.

Matt Rathjen

bathtub doesn't drain... toilet doesn't flush... & bloody boogers above the head board??? PUKE

Christine Glogowski

Clean room, comfortable bed, great customer service from check in clerk, Dalton. He offerred to take our bags upstairs to our room, when Dalton realized my husband had bad knees he provided us a room on the main floor. Then checked us to make sure everything was okay and if we needed anything. We were very impressed with the customer service, and the lovely room we stayed in . Will definately stay at the Riviera again on our next visit to Vernon.

lynsie g

Enjoyed room and food in restaurant on site. However sleeping very difficult as blinds inadequate to darken room as spotlight in courtyard shone directly into our first floor room..

Made an online booking...checking time is 03 00p.m, came at 4:10 p.m-advised reception at 3 p.m by phone...been waiting at the reception for more than 40 mins...no keys yet...no room available...

Extremely good value, very clean and the room had an excellent bathroom and a wonderful king bed with a really good mattress and pillows.

Cesar Melo

It was decent enough. Could be cleaner all around, however the beds are decent. Clean, comfortable and extra blanket if needed. Kitchen was great to have. Apartment sized stove, fridge and microwave.

Ian Dunn

We stayed here for two nights. Very clean and the front staff was great to deal with! The only thing I could say is is that there was 3 sheets on our bed which was odd. We just took one off and it was comfortable! And for the price I think it is well worth the stay!

shade playz

This hotel is very deceiving. Looks ok from the outside but holy Bates motel... Was put in a room that has a door connecting to another that just had a lock on it. Awful smell coming into the room had to clean counters with Lysol wipes. Bathroom was funny one of those that door almost hits the toilet. Hotel need a massive renovation. Needless to say won't be staying in this hotel anytime soon would rather drive 50 mins and spend extra dollars to stay in a hotel in Kelowna, but if only they were not fully booked! Update on review. Lady at front desk when we checked out needs more training, gave the keycards to let her know we're checking out only for her to ask us what room we were in when it is clearly written on the envelope and she didn't know what else to say other than we're good to go.

T he Riviera has some of the most affordable rooms in Vernon, yet they still provide excellent service, and clean, comfortable rooms in a convenient location. The swimming pool area has been closed for over a year.

Shawna Hall

Other than having an uncomfortable check in experience, having the maid service try to walk right into the room both days before checkout time turned me right off of this hotel. I hope they address the unprofessionalism of their staff and make an effort to treat future guests better.
