I rarely leave reviews. But here goes. If I could leave zero stars. I would. Totally unprofessional customer service. I had to wait outside in -40 weather until they finally were able to let me inside. I get the whole covid thing but to make a customer wait outside in -40 when you can only allow one person inside is a little ridiculous. The larger gentleman who had served me didn’t greet me upon sitting down. Didn’t say thanks for waiting or sorry about the wait. Gave me one worded questions/answers. Customer service apparently isn’t his nor their specialty. Service was terrible. Made me feel like I was hassling him by just being there. Will not be going back, the people and staff at HUB are way more polite and gracious. Felt like a big waste of time and if I didn’t have to renew my autopac by days end I would’ve just went closer to my house instead of on the way home from work. Avoid this place if you can. Surprised their still in business. Will not go back.

I have been going here for years. But after screw up after screw up, I'm finding a new broker. I have had MPI threaten to suspend my license twice, AFTER I had been in to renew it, and it was done improperly. Another instance I spent my entire lunch break in this office because I needed a new picture on my license and not one person in the office could figure out the camera. I asked to leave and come back later but apparently once you are at that point in the program there is no turning back. There's plenty of brokers in this city, I can't be bothered with incompetence.

I hate giving bad reviews but this one is well deserved. Went there on Saturday with my cousin to have his car insured, the lady at the front desk was rude and unpleasant. She clearly didn't want our business. Not sure if this is related to the pandemic but if you don't want to deal with the public close your doors or at least, put a smile on your face and say sorry EDIT: this is to answer the business owner reply. I think you had the wrong information from your employee. My cousin is a permanent resident, we showed the landing documents and other paperwork required. We've been told that MPI wouldn't accept the TD Bank document which is totally fine. My complaint is related to the tone used by your rep and how she talked to us. The car is now insured and running. Have a great day

I too am not happy with the service I received at Hughes. My parents have had their insurance with Hughes for decades so we stayed with them for our cottage insurance. This year we needed to switch this insurance over to my sister and myself as we are the new owners of the cottage. I was told that I should take my business to the insurance agent I had for my condo because Hughes/Wawanesa wouldn't just let us change the name on the policy. No ifs, ands or buts. So that is what we did. Took our business elsewhere seeing as how no one was willing to help us. We went to another insurance company who had no problem setting up the policy with Wawanesa in my sister's and my name. Not impressed with Hughes at all.

Looking for a broker that loses your legal documents, account info (blank chq), sends someone else's personal information to your email address AND lets an insurance policy lapse by not filing the paperwork, all the while not giving you answers as to what happened nor an apology..No? Then shop elsewhere or switch to another broker like I did.

If i could have chosen zero stars I would have .....the lady at this insurance place just tried charging us $170/month for car insurance. Took our paperwork to a different insurance company and paid $105 instead. Come to this business if you are looking to get ripped off!
