A long awaited trip to PEI culminated in everything we could hope for and more! The keen staff at MacQueen's (namely the amazing Dayan), made us feel welcome, valued and relaxed. Not a small feat in a busy shop, while dealing with first time tourers, for which he specially modified the road bikes. In the end, we couldn't ask for better hosts ("make yourself at home" seems to be a favorite phrase). Dan has set a high standard for customer service. The bikes were also wonderful -and we simply had to buy one to take it home in the end- but that is an aside. With such a warm welcome, we were certain to enjoy this all- too- brief tour to your fair Isle.

Really love this shop. Over ten years I've bought 5 bikes here, and I'm always super happy. The one bike I bought for myself elsewhere always left me with a bit of regret because other shops don't come close to the level of service you get at MacQueen's. Danny and Ryan are definitely worth a special mention as both have been so exceptional to deal with. Can't recommend enough.

We went to MacQueens as part of our PEI tour to check how worn our chains were after 3-weeks heavy riding, and we were hoping to also chat to some like-minded cyclists about the area, get some local recommendations and so on. However, we were put off by the brusque attitude of the guy who came out to measure our chains for us (something we have no problem doing ourselves). He flashed the tool at one chain and claimed a whole new chain and rear cassette was required (and gave an unsolicited quote for the work). When questioned, he back-tracked, measured again, and admitted that actually the chain still had some life in it. We know bikes well enough to be the judge of when anything (especially the cassette) needs replacing. We went to the shop to assess a situation and make a judgement ourselves so were disappointed that he immediately assumed we knew nothing. The strong impression was that he just wanted to make some money off us. Needless to say, we didn’t buy anything and we didn’t hang around to chat: a real shame.

I was into MacQueen's for my first time this past Saturday visiting from out of province. Excellent service, I was welcomed at the door and the replacement spoke I needed was found quickly by the staff. I was also in search of a new helmet, the staff member who helped me find a new lid was enthusiastic and friendly, he was also able to give me a 25% discount ... and I did not even ask if there was a possible price reduction! Great clean and well kept store in a very cool building!

Staff usually seem friendly and the store is well stocked. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but is usually enough for the number of customers in the store at the time. Took my son's bike in for a tune up. Needed the derailleurs aligned, the disc brakes adjusted so they wouldn't rub when not being applied and the rear wheel put vertical (was slightly tilted to the left when viewed from the back). Picked up the bike and was only given a cursory explanation of what was done when I asked. When I took the bike home, I found that I couldn't get into 1st gear, the rear brake still rubbed when gliding and the rear wheel was still tilted at exactly the same angle as before. They may have worked on it, but it doesn't feel like it. Or, if they did then they didn't test out their work thoroughly. Wasn't very satisfied. Will try another shop next time.

After calling, we brought my wife's bike in for a shifting problem late afternoon on a Saturday. We were taken care of immediately. The gentleman took the bike into the shop & decided to replace the shift cable. In a mater of 10 minutes the bike was adjusted & fixed for a very reasonable price. Unbelievable service. Great Job! P.S. This is a full service & sales shop. Everything you need. Wonderful staff! Highly recommended.

Dan & his crew were most accommodating to my urgent needs. Having cycled in from Fredericton, NB to visit the island, my bicycle was in rough shape and was needed for later in the day. I dropped off the bicycle at 8:30am, and they were able to have my bicycle's tune-up finished and cassette replaced by 2pm the same day, allowing me to cycle to Cornwall for 3pm. Thank you all for helping me in my time of need!

A great place to buy, try and peruse bicycles and cycling equipment. Danny and Jason are collectively, a wealth of knowledge and both will bend over backwards to help and please their customers. Trouble with merchandise is no problem either; I have been going to MacQueens for many years and occasionally have had to return merchandise for one reason or another. Danny just smiles and makes the swap or return with no hassle at all. His team of mechanic and assistants are like minded. Indeed, MacQueens is one of the best cycling shops I have ever been to and I have cycled all over the world. And finally, I am not a family member and don't have shares in the the business!

Amazing service! Walked in on a Friday with a blown bottom bracket bearing and it was fixed while we waited (20 minutes) with a smile and good humour! Quality inventory and very reasonable prices! All the customers that passed through seemed to be regulars. We’re simply passing through PEI and were lucky to find MacQeen’s!

First, a great big "Thank-you!" to my new friends at MacQueen's for fixing my bike quickly for very little money. They did a phenomenal job. When I first noticed my bike needed repairs, I asked a handful of people where can I take it to get it fixed? Everyone told me "Take it to MacQueen's". Prior to this, I tried to buy the parts I needed from another store in town ???? & I felt I was treated very rudely. I asked "Do you sell bearings for bicycle pedals?" The sales rep dismissively pointed to a back wall, not a word spoken, & didn't offer any further assistance. The coup de grace was that the part I needed wasn't even there. At MacQueen's, everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, & accommodating. They listened to what I had to say, approached the situation with confidence, & did what I needed them to do honestly & fairly. If I need bike repairs in the future, no question, I'm going back to MacQueen's. 5????s, outstanding work, highly recommended! Thank-you!!

This bike shop is very well run, the service is excellent. I had a breakdown on my 3rd day of my 5 day tip to tip bike ride. I waited for the shop to open at 8:30, they greeted me by saying " your front gears have been recalled" replaced them free and also fixed my problem right away. I came back after completing my trip and they replaced my rear brakes, took me in right away and i was back on the road again. Keep up the great service, you guys are the best. Thank you

In March 2018 we booked a self-guided PEI bike tour for July and MacQueen’s was *amazing*! After learning about our trip specifics (dates, biking experience levels, etc.), Dayan made all the inn reservations for us, mapped our daily routes, and lent us awesome carbon fiber bikes! (They were better than the bikes we own back home and now have to ride! Lol!) Mirley graciously arrived at our inns on our travel days to advance our bags. One day I had a mechanical issue with my bike, and she arrived the next morning with an identical replacement bike! Even better, they treated us like friends, even though they had just met us. I’m pretty picky and often find my expectations aren’t met, but MacQueen’s met mine for handling details of our bike tour. Would DEFINITELY do business with them again. Hmmm...maybe Cuba next? ☺️
