I don't know what people are complaining about, the boat trip to the island was definitely the highlight of our trip to Gaspé. The trip takes about 50 minutes from L'Anse-à-Beaufils, not from Percé, as the pier in Percé is undergoing a construction. The boat takes a short trip around the island, which itself gives a magnificent view of the gannet colony from afar and you also get to see seals resting on the rocks. You also get to enjoy a 2-3 hour hike on the island, which is another highlight of the trip. Both the trips to and from the island were amazing, although the wind can get a bit chilly. Oh and yes, there was lots of space between people and with the ocean wind, I would feel much safer than some restaurants where people may be far apart from each other, but higher risk with the enclosed space. Overall, I would definitely recommend this boat trip. 5/5

The crossing is done very well, a guide informs us in English and French about the history of Rocher Percé, the birds and marine mammals that we meet on our route. Breathtaking shots, we see cormorants, gannets, razorbills, small and large seals. The boat approaches from elsewhere on the island on a few occasions so that the birds can be seen better. It is not too long and you can disembark on Bonaventure Island for a hike. The return journey is quick in 15 minutes. (Original) Super belle escapade! Nous sommes allés en juin donc moins d’achalandage, le processus est simple, le prix des billets est très juste. La traversée se fait très bien, un guide nous informe en anglais et en français sur l’histoire du Rocher Percé, les oiseaux et mammifères marins que l’on rencontre sur notre parcours. Des prises de vue à couper le souffle, on voit des cormorans, des fous de bassan, des petits pingouins, des petits et gros phoques. Le bateau s’approche d’ailleurs de l’ile à quelques occasions pour que l’on puisse mieux voir les oiseaux. Ce n’est pas trop long et l’on peut débarquer sur l’ile Bonaventure pour faire une randonnée. Le périple du retour se fait rapidement en 15 minutes.

Asked for a whale tour.....got a ride to an island where I had to hike to see birds......NOT A SINGLE WHALE IN SIGHT. Specifically asked for a whale tour....got birds...and rocks. Not sure how the person selling the tickets confused the two.

This is the boat to Bonaventure Island and Rocher Perce. Good tour on the way. You'll treasure these memories to you die. Dress warm for the crossing if you want to sit outside. Sit outside if you can.

They gave a tour around Perce Rock and Bonaventure island before dropping us off. It took about 45 mins. If you get sea sick, I highly recommend you take something for it.

I had to go to a kiosk across the 132 to buy our tickets. The wharf is not yet open so the start is at Anse à Beaufils. The cruise costs $ 40 per person and lasts 1 hour one way. We go around Bonaventure Island to return to the Island wharf. We're not going near the Percé Rock. The boat staff explain to us what we see. We could see seals. The path along the cliff is very beautiful. One can see there original houses which are still there. The last departure from the Island is at 4pm. Return of 35 minutes to the Quai de Anse à Beaufils. Enjoyed our experience. (Original) Passé une journée fin septembre 2020. On a eu du mal a trouver l’endroit. L’adresse n’est pas bonne. J’ai du demander à quelqu’un ou aller. J’ai du aller dans un kiosque l’autre côté de la 132 pour acheter nos billets. Le quai n’est pas encore ouvert alors le départ se fait à l’Anse à Beaufils. La croisière coute 40$ par personne et dure 1 hr aller. On fait le tour de l’Ile Bonaventure pour revenir au quai de l’Ile. On ne va pas prêt du Rocher Percé. Le personnel du bateau nous explique ce qu’on voit. On a pu voir des phoques. Rendu à l’Ile on débarque et on part explorer les sentiers qui nous mène au fous de Bassan. Très agréable à voir. Il y en a beaucoup. On peut passer un bon moment à les regarder. Le sentier le long de la falaise est très beau. On peut y voir des maisons originals qui sont encore là. Le dernier départ de l’Ile est à 4pm. Retour de 35 min au quai de l’Anse à Beaufils. Bien aimé notre expérience.

We saw people miss their shuttle bus because we were picking up other people who arrived later, and therefore miss the next boat. Conseil: partir au plus tôt le matin pour limiter la mauvaise organisation qui risque de perturber vos plans.

Overpriced cruise. Extra $10 for the park at Bonaventure Island and the highlight of the island - the gannet birds are on the opposite side which requires 1 hour hike so if you take the 2pm boat, there is no time to get back for the last boat back at 4 pm :/ Even the boat ride was too bumpy, lots of people got sea sick as the sea was rough and 45 min trip 1 way was not smooth at all :/ No life jackets were provided and people were allowed to stand outside risking lives. Lastly, it was fully occupied, no proper measures were taken for COVID except mandatory masks. We thought it will be partially filled to take measures but was not the case as it was crowded. Not much info was provided by the crew about the gaspe rock and surrounding areas. Not taking this ride again.

The staff were friendly, especially the representative of Sepaq on the boat and her interesting explanations. This is the best way to go around Bonaventure Island, which is a must. Great trip. They narrate in English after the French and for what seems a much shortened narration.The boat was large enough to provide confidence. You travel to both sides of Perce then around Bonaventure Island. You can get off at the island and catch a later ferry and enjoy the restaurant and some old buildings and a 6 km walk around. However there is a park fee for entering the island. The gate keeper was willing to trust me and my wife, seniors, to only use the restaurant but we paid our fee anyway and explored a little and enjoyed the ambience and the historical buildings.

This review is for the whale watching cruise not for the island trip. In a word, the experience was terrible, we saw very little and half of the passengers got sea sick. The crew could not care less about anything, they were not available for questions or concerns. Worse $80 spent ever. Not worth it. Also there are two companies that sell tickets for these trips, but in gact there is one operator so I will post this review to the other company as well

Took the last trip of the season this month to Bonadventure Island and it was the best cruise and best tourist moments ever. Boat is nice enough to give you an authentic feeling of sailing, there is a great narration in English and French and the prices are good. On this cruise, you get to see many whales, grey seals and the world's largest bird colony of its type. You can get off and explore the island too. Enjoyable.

Only downside, we could not hear the explanations well (perhaps this is a decibel limit so as not to disturb the seabirds, however). Looking forward to returning in the future! And only 2 starts in the day, that's just VERY bad management. You just wasted our time on top of an unpleasant experience. Nice tour for a better view of percé rock and Bonaventure island . Trip to both is 35$ only Bonaventure island is 25$ . Worth to do both as You get nice photo opportunities. Try to take the 9am boat as you have plenty of time to wander in the island . Keep in mind you need to take a boat become 2pm to get off at Bonaventure island if not you are Not allowed to get off. Get on to the upper deck for better version views . Everyone wants to do that so You need to get to the dock early for the line up .

The worst possible experience using Boat tours. Very poor organized and not including anything besides transportation to the island, where you have to pay extra for the entry to the park. They're selling more tickets, than boat can hold and passengers should stay on the pier two hours more . When you finally get to the island you don't have enough time to see bird's colony, even if you run (average hiking to the place 2 hours loop)

We took the boat from Perce to Bonaventure Island, where you can get off and explore the island for an additional fee. The hikes on the island are between 45 mins and 1.5 hrs but be warned, this is only one-way. Some of the hikes are quite steep and one involves lots of stairs so assess your mobility before you pay the fee. There is also a restaurant with an excellent view of the dock. The boat ride to the island was very nice. They take you around Perce Rock so lots of photo opportunities there. The tour guide part of it was in both French and English but difficult to hear over the sound of the boat. They take you completely around Bonaventure Island which allows you to see the birds (one of the largest colonies) as well as seals sunning themselves and some of the old buildings. The dock is pretty at Bonaventure and you are allowed to take any boat back whenever you wish. One difficulty is that the ticket sellers for the boat cruise appears to be family members and the younger kids are not fluent in English. We were able to get by using an app on my husband's phone.
