At the present the firm gets a rating of 4.8 out of 5 and that rating was based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is almost the best one, and it's based on a large number of scores, so we may think that the rating is very accurate. If people have bothered to leave their score when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...

Easy going, easy to find, great for climbing.
My daughter spent a week at their camp. She enjoyed all of the activities and camp leaders. She really enjoyed all the new jokes that she learned from the camp leaders.
Took the shuttle with Hoodoo up to ride the KVR. We rode from the Myra canyon trestles down into Pentiction. It's about 75km. They provided a spare bolt to secure my wife's failing seatpost clamp, with no fuss and our bikes were on the rack in 10 minutes. Our driver was great. They were accommodating and let us start at 830 instead of 7am since no one else was joining us. Got on the trail around 10:30am. Unfortunately after the trestle section, about 15km in, the trail conditions were pretty terrible. Some rocky spots, but mainly the sand. We're avid riders and I managed ok on 32c touring tires, but my wife's standard road tires had a rough time. We slogged through sand for probably 25km over 2-3 hours. They kind of mentioned the conditions to us beforehand, but assured us we would be fine. I Wish they had convinced us to reduce our ride to Chute Lake. Would have earned a higher rating otherwise, but I guess it's on us. You certainly want a minimum 38c tire or a 1.5" mountain bike tire. The conditions approaching Little Tunnel were 100x better, which is what we had experienced on our last ride here. Hard pack trails, smooth and wide. Would highly recommend the Little Tunnel ride into town (20km) but no more, unless you want a real challenge.
Great people and a great place too be!
I love Hoodoo! My daughter is 8 and summer camp at Hoodoo has done wonders for her confidence! I also love how wonderful Hoodoo is in and for our community. Every activity/event they put on is top notch.
We had an extraordinary afternoon paddle with an amazing guide!
What a great ride! All down hill! From Chute Lake to Penticton we had a wonderful ride even with a few challenges. The trail at the top was very sandy and hard to ride, the kickstand fell off and the bike tire went flat and the air pump didn't fit the stem but lots of people on the trail made for a quick fix. Hoodoo adventures was a pleasure to deal with even if a bit expensive. I would rent a bike from them again if i don't want to cart my own bike to the Okanagan. The staff is pleasant and the owner is a very nice guy. (They also have a rock wall for climbing) they are in a nice area so if you just want to rent a bike and go for a city tour you are almost right downtown. I hope things work out for them to purchase Chute Lake Lodge, i think it would be an asset to the area.
Based on the response to my review, I am upgrading my review to 3 stars. Rented 2 bikes and a set of panniers which all had issues which we did not realize until we were on the trail after the shuttle drop off. With a good strict maintenance and procedure check lists the warped rim, worn tire that blew 30k from town on the KVR trail, 2 bike pumps that did not work and the broken clip on the panniers could have all been prevented. Still no call from a manager as promised. I hope this rare negative review by me makes it to management which takes steps to ensure others don't have similar equipment failure. On the positive side, all staff were very friendly, helpful and apologetic. The shuttle to KVR trail head was on time and positive. They were also quick to meet us on the closest road to swap bikes with the one which blew a tire on the KVR trail after about 15k of cycling on the flat rear tire which had the sidewall blew apart from previous wear. The 80k ride after the shuttle is amazing. Highly recommend it on good equipment.
Took the mountain bike course with Linnette. Fantastic COACHING, a must do, had a blast learning and riding and of course laughing!!
9 of us rented bikes as a group for a bachelorette party this summer so we could tour around the wineries. I was very impressed by the thorough safety checks and professional staff! We had a fantastic time and were more than happy with the quality of the bikes and helpfulness of the staff! Thanks!!
We hired Hoodoo Adventure to take us and our bikes from Penticton to Myra Canyon (Kelowna) so that we could then spend two days biking from Myra Canyon to Chute Lake Lodge (for a night) and then to Penticton. Michael drove us and everything was five star. We left on-time and he even drove us to Urban Fair so we could run in and get some breakfast and snacks for our bike trip, before dropping us off at Myra Canyon. We highly recommend this company and also loved the fact that Michael is a Kiwi :-)
Very helpful.
Absolutely amazing service. Mike is super knowledgeable about the trails at Three Blind Mice. We will be back.
We had a super time and your service was excellent. Your bikes worked great and the whole team was incredible!! We had a blast and would recommend you guys to anyone!! We will see you again next time we come there. Thanks a bunch !! Ted and Becky.
My daughter Elizabeth has loved going to these camps. I had her enrolled in one during Spring break and she loved it so much! So I enrolled her in a Summer camp one and she loved that too. Every day was a new activity and she was always so happy when I came to pick her up. Sometimes she didn't want to leave yet. The staff is very helpful and informative. If there was any issues they would let me know. For example, Elizabeth was playing hide and seek on one of the hiking outings and she happened to be standing on top of a red ant nest. Luckily she didnt get stung and they let me know. I would definitely recommend to anyone to send their children there as well as any age to go. A great place to have fun.
Tried to book a shuttle to Myra Canyon from Penticton to do the bike ride, and Lindsey was very, very accommodating to my needs. They were able to squeeze me in as a solo rider, and Mike and Al were very helpful with guiding me with my rental as it had been a while since I last rode. Would definitely recommend them if you’re in the area!
We had a fabulous time with Ben as our guide on the Kayak's and Mike as our driver for the wine tasting. Lunch was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and we would do it again.
We had a really great time with Hoodoo on our kayak, picnic, wine tour. Our guide was great and he taught us a lot about the local area we didn’t know ( and we are all from BC !). The only thing that would have made it better was if the kayaks had been at the beach for us. We spent at least 30 minutes getting sorted out and then hauling them to the beach and getting g them into the water. We felt that that should have been done so we had more time doing the actual activity we paid for. Otherwise, fantastic! The wine tour part was also excellent and our driver was so nice!!!
Wonderful experience!! Great people! Lindsay was an amazing guide! Thank you so much!
We had an incredible experience with Mike and the Hoodoo team during a recent bike trip with friends on the KVR. Mike was kind enough to shuttle our small group up to the starting point at Myra Canyon, and I really liked the mountain bike that Ariel set up for me. Mike was so knowledgeable about the area, even giving us a geology lesson along the way! During our trip I had a pretty serious bike accident, and Mike generously spent his whole afternoon to make sure our group was ok - shuttling some of our group down while I got medical attention. The generosity of service and caring was amazing. He really wanted to make sure our group was well taken care of, even following up the next day to make sure I was ok. Great people and great service, highly recommended.
Had a great kayak wine tour combo. Guide was very helpfut and patient with people New to kayaking. Great way to spend a day.
All of my experience working with Hoodoo Adventures has been beyond efficient and easy. These guys know what they're doing, how to do it, and how to enjoy the time spent. Whether you're doing a bike trip, going climbing, or simply looking for adventure, this is the place to go.
Very good communication before booking and on the day. Would recommend.
The team at Hoodoo were extremely helpful and friendly! My boyfriend and I came in to rent bikes to explore the KVR trail. The staff were knowledgeable and set us up with a pair of comfortable bikes to rent for the day. Would definitely recommend this company!
My partner and I boulder here all the time and are always met by the super friendly staff. Great routes to do for every ability and they change them over regularly. Highly recommend!
Incredible and positive experience from all angles. Kids in the adventure camps truly a genuine experience. Kids experienced kayaking, climbing, biking. The staff is very knowledge, outgoing and interested and focused on your kids needs. I would recommend any adventure with Hoodoo 100%!
Excellent choice for outdoor adventure equipment and guiding. Kayak, bicycles, climbing wall. Probably more than this, but you should call them and they'll help you with whatever you want to do, or with your adventure choice. Knowledgeable, very friendly people with many skills.
Excellent professional operation. Owner drove 3 of us. His worldly knowledge and experience shared during the drive was amazing. Look forward to another adventure with hoodoo!! Cheers Andrew
My friend and I showed up unannounced looking to rent a kayak for a few hours. Mike immediately helped us get set up and showed us how the kayak worked, how to properly use it and so on. We were in and out in minutes with a fantastic kayak for the afternoon. The price was outstanding and Mike was eager to know how our experience was once we returned the kayak. I couldn't reccomend this place more. Amazing staff and equipment, can't ask for more
An amazing climbing experience for the whole family!
After some consultation with I.H. and the climbing community, Hodoo has apparently begun to require mask use and vaxx passports. This is great news. ????????
Ben was an amazing instructor for our advanced kayak course. He took the time to understand our current skill level as well as the skills we were looking to improve upon. Feedback and instructions were thoughtful and constructive. We felt super prepared for our trip in Desolation Sound and often found ourselves saying “I’m so glad we took the course” or “That was such a great tip from Ben!” Thanks Hoodoo! We feel lucky to have such a world class outdoor adventure business here in Penticton!
Had a great time learning how to kyak on the lake. Instructor was very knowledgeable, and went at a good pace. Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn the basics of kyaking :)
Helpful, inexpensive, great selection, I'm so glad we found them!
We had an awesome time for my friend's bachelor party. The kayak wine tour was the perfect way to kick our hungover hooligan friends out of bed and start another day of fun. The beach picnic and quick dip in the lake was exactly what I needed during this weekend getaway. I highly recommend looking into Hoodoo Adventures for an awesome experience in Penticton .
Nice ride of bike today
Awesome helpful staff, nice gear. I can only recommend.
Very Happy with Hoodoo service, they had all the information we needed and were very flexible to accomodate us. They pick us up at a new location for us to avoid the storm. They helped us finishing a great adventure.
We’ve been extremely privileged to have a bike tour with Mike the owner! He is so passionated and interesting by the history of the railways and also the historical developpement of the Okanagan Valley. We love this bike tour which was so easy to do with a slope let us going doing down....I hightly recommend!
The staff was friendly and informative on what to expect on the KVR ride.
Great birthday party experience
Hired very well-maintained rental bikes, drank wine, went swimming, saw an osprey fishing, ate cheese, brought bikes back, all very good.
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time on one of the Hoodoo bike/winery tours last week. Our guide (insert her name here) was amazing and went above and beyond. Disappointed that we cannot remember her name as she was spectacular; funny, knowledgeable and truly cared that we got the most out of the tour/experience. Started off with a bike ride down some mountain trails, finished off with a lovely cheese picnic and several stops at some very interesting and awesome Oakanagan wineries. Would definitely recommend this company to anyone staying in the area. This was one of my favourite experiences in British Columbia. The tour guide was a 22 year old female who grew up in the area. Thank you for a great day! We will definitely be back. -Tayler and Mark
Jarrett was awesome to work with and learn the ropes. You can tell he really loves what he does. We are happy we added this onto our trip and recommend them!
Great spot to take the kids
Edit: Hoodoo has offered to refund the shoe rental and I am very happy with their customer service. I rented some climbing shoes from Hoodoo. I was pretty disappointed by the quality, they were past worn out and I ended up climbing barefoot. I let the owner know, but didn't receive a response. I got the shoes at the end of the day and they wanted to charge me for two days for an overnight rental, even if I brought the shoes back immediately upon their opening time the following morning. Because of this they arranged for me to drop the shoes off at the owner's house that night. I appreciated the flexibility, but I would have preferred to just pay a fair price from the beginning. Giving two stars because the staff seemed genuinely kind, friendly, and caring. However, I would probably avoid using their services again and felt like it was a waste of time and money.
We rented a bicycle's for half day for a very reasonable price. Owner was very helpful and polite. We cycled down the kettle Valley trail and visited some wineries on the way. Gorgeous scenery around Penticton. Followed covid regulations.
Lots of covid rules but I appreciate it
Had a fun and interesting outdoor experience with Hoodoo's 4-hour rock climbing introductory course.
Great staff and facilities
Best kayak rental option in the Okanagan. Starting at their website: you know exactly what is included and even the brand of kayaks. Quality kayaks. Helpful staff.
Amazing experience with Hoodoo ADV. They went the extra mile to ensure we had an amazing rental with them.
Great experience with the fun and professional Hoodoo team! We did the kayak and wine excursion, with a beautiful picnic in between. Highly recommended!
This is an incredible company, responsible not only for awesome adventure tourism but as a facilitator for some impressive events in the SO region. Highly recommend checking it out.
We booked a kayaking and winery tour originally for four but last minute changes to two people, and Lindy accommodated amazingly! The kayaking had gorgeous scenery and although we were beginners Lindy made it easy to start. The wineries tour with Nicole who provided excellent insight was delicious and made me appreciate the process of wine making and grape agriculture so much more. They made me proud to be a British Columbian and opened up the beauty of the Valley!
Great friendly service. Quality, well maintained rental bikes. Had a great time riding up Lake Okanagan and visiting some local wineries. Definitely recommend.
Looks incredible.
Great shuttle service up to Myra Canyon trestles. The mountain bike I rented was in good working order and the staff was friendly and helpful, competitive pricing also! I would recommend Hoodoo Adventure Co.!
Good time and great service!
We did a family rock climbing activity at Skaha bluffs. We have 2 kids (6&8) and Ben from Hoodoo took us out. Ben was an amazing guide, instructor, and great with our kids too (who this activity was all about). We talked about rattlesnakes, poison ivy, respecting the outdoors, safety, and rock climbing too. If we lived in Penticton we would definitely do their camps for our kids too. Highly recommend both Hoodoo and Ben!
Love HOODOO, MY son always has an amazing Time, whether it's at one of their fabulous day Camps, or running in their Santa rec run. Amazing leaders! Amazing work within the community!
They have quite a bunch of rental equipments and stuff are friendly.
Booked a drop off for a bike tour through Myra canyon, which I was originally planning to do with a large backpack (super uncomfortable) since I didn't have a rack or panniers. The staff were super accomodating and outfitted me with a rack and panniers and even installed it for me (despite my bike's weird geometry). My trip was 100% better because of it!
We took a shuttle to do the Myra Canyon bike trip down to Ok Falls. Hoodoo offers custom shuttles if your needs are not listed on their web page options. It was a nice service, on time and friendly! Thank for the ride!
Just wanted to thank Hoodoo Adventures for both their great service and exceptional staff. Andi was amazing with our group she was both patient and encouraging. The kids in our group included some with special needs and she was considerate and calm which really helped the kids in our group climb higher than they ever thought possible
My experience with Hoodoo Adventures was mixed. On the one hand, we had a bad experience with the double sea kayak we rented for an afternoon paddle on Okanagan Lake. It was visibly not in very good condition and the seats were poorly duct taped to the sides to try to keep them in place. Then, while out on the lake in very choppy water, we discovered that the rudder was actually broken and unusable, which is what we specifically wanted on our boat. This made for a really sketchy and stressful situation navigating back to shore through large waves with whitecaps. On the other hand, the staff were friendly and they were apologetic about the issue we had with the boat and refunded our rental without hesitation. I hope Hoodoo will work to increase the quality of their fleet and their boat maintenance, and ensure they don't rent broken boats to future customers.
Our extended family of 9 ranging from 11 - 68 years old rented bikes and a shuttle to Chute Lake. Mike and the team did a great job of outfitting us with suitable bikes and informing us about the ride, local history, etc. All of the bikes and helmets were well maintained and fitted by people who know what they are doing. If you are wondering about an easy and spectacular outing in Penticton, put this trip in your plan!
Even if the lake was high, we had a great adventure on the Okanagan Lake. Mike also took the time to tell us some history about the landscape, very interesting. We had a great day out in the sun and really appreciated our experience with Hoodoo! Can't wait to book our next adventure with them ;)
The facility is great for all ages, but it's the people there that make it truly amazing!! Go Hoodoo!!
We always make a point of using Hoodoos shuttle service up the KVR. We were lucky to draw owner Mike for our driver. Not only did he schedule a special trip for us. But he shared incredibly interesting history on the region on the way. Plus described special places to look for. Can't wait for the next trip! ????♀️????♂️
I went with my bachelorette party to Kelowna for the kayak, picnic and wine tasting. Our tour guide was Sean who was so fun. We went pretty early in the season so we ended up only going to 3 out of 4 wineries but the last winery we went to Tantalus had the best service and choices.
Best place to meet people.
HooDoo adventure provided me with a kayak and paddler as a swim escort for Ultra520K Canada this summer. Everything was so well organized on their end - clear and detailed communication, the kayak was delivered and picked up, and Liz, my paddler, friendly, professional, and encouraging. She picked the straightest possible course which resulted in a better than expected finish time! All in all, a fabulous company to deal with!
A few years back we went on a beautiful night time snowshoe hike up at Apex Mountain Resort. It was a mild hike that ended in a wine a cheese around a campfire. The guides were amazing accommodating all skill levels on the trek. It was just a beautiful experience.
I had such an amazing time with Mike on our vino & bike tour. It was so authentic & genuine. We truly felt like this was our special moment and everything was taken care of. He even offered to customize it based on our desire to have a bit more of an adventurous tour! Doug also joined us and was a true ally during this fun adventure. Thanks again guys!
Hoodoo Adventures provided an excellent service shuttling us and our bikes from Princeton to Myra Canyon so we could cycle that section of the KVR. Service was friendly and seamless with the bonus of learning a lot about the area and very helpful trips for negotiating the cycling trail. Highly recommended.
Mike drove us and our bikes up to Myra Canyon. He was very knowledgeable about the area and shared lots of facts. It was a great drive up. We biked back to Penticton and the next day we stopped in to do some bouldering at their gym. Both were great experiences.
Adam was a great guide for our climbing adventure. And the other staff were super friendly and helpful.
Great place to boulder. Awesome for kids birthday parties! Staff and route setters are super friendly and obviously take pride in a small, but effective gym. They offer lots of programs as well, indoor and outdoor! You'll find many of the local pros here over the winter and when it's raining, but everyone is encouraging and inclusive to climbers of all levels.
We had a great 3-day bike trip on the KVR Railway line from Arlington Lakes to Penticton thanks to Hoodoo. Great bikes and great service. Highly recommended.
Hoodoo Adventures rocks! They are great people with great ideas for ways to have fun. They also put on fabulous events.
Fantastic customer service, bicycles in great shape and no worry of a flat tire, convenient location to Kettle Valley Railway on east side of lake, lock available for stop at Hillside for lunch and tasting. Would have been nice to have bungee cord to strap onto back rack for raincoat and windbreaker that I ended up not needing to wear. I will definitely rent again from them! Thanks!
Legends
Did the intro to climbing course, and it was very informative and very fun!
Ben was our guide and did a wonderful job. His instructions were the best we've ever had. The equipment was in great shape and easy to navigate with. We will definitely use Hoodoo Adventures on our next trip to the area.
We had a very pleasant drive to our destination with a friendly driver. He even drove back to our rental to get something that we needed. We will use this shuttle again the next time we cycle the Myra Canyon to Penticton. The bikes were transported safely too!
We got to have a private tour with Lindy and she was fantastic! We were so grateful to have her company and to hear little local tidbits that she shared along the way. We loved hearing her story of starting HooDoo and we truly enjoyed the kayak and the breakfast that she provided as well. We can’t wait to go back!
I rented a kayak from Hoodoo Adventures for my participation in the Skaha Ultra Swim and they provided superb service. One of their staff members, Chrissy, went above and beyond to make sure that the kayak we had was one we would be comfortable using, and as she was paddling for another racer on race morning, she offered to trade kayaks and paddles with us to make sure our needs were perfectly met, regardless of the fact that last minute changes might have made things more difficult for her. Another staff member spent significant time helping us understand the course and how best to navigate it as he had paddled for swimmers in the past. These folks walk the walk, rather than just talking the talk. Outstanding service, and the equipment was exactly as ordered and described. My thanks and appreciation to Hoodoo Adventures and their awesome staff!
Super quick and easy to rent paddle boards at Hoodoo. Very good price. Close to the beach and easy to get them to the water. Helpful staff showed me how to load them.
We did the Penticton to Myra canyon shuttle including rented bikes. Shuttle vehicle was an aged minivan. The schedule was adhered to and the driver was very friendly and talkative. The bikes provided were well worn but mechanically fit. Newer rubber would have been nice in the soft mid section of the trail. The booking process was easy and fast. Overall I feel it was good value for the money. We had a fun time, great scenery for the top end and a bear with three cub encounter close to Naramata. Memorable ride for sure. SF
Amazing experience at Hoodoo Adventure Co. We rented a kayak, dealt with Mike. Suepr professional and outstanding customer service. I can't recommend this place highly enough. The building isn't on the water, but it's a short 150m walk to the beach. Kayak rentals come with a little dolly to wheel the kayak out to the water. Everything was fantastic and I plan to come back next time I'm in Penticton. Would give 6/5 if I could.
Great shuttle service. Service was affordable and on time. Staff were pleasant.
Awesome experience with Tom as guide for intro to rock climbing. Very much recommend this experience.
I was travelling solo and was able to get on one of their shuttles to Myra (requires minimum 2 ppl) on short notice. They just let me know when one was running via. e-mail. I used one of their rental bikes. 6:45am is an alarming time to be on location anywhere when on vacation, but Sean was on the ball, had the bike ready and the drive was painless. Got back to Hoodoo in under 4hrs of ride time but it will take longer if you stop for a lot of photos. I'd recommend a full-suspension XC bike if you have one available to you for the portion between Myra and Little Tunnel.
One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had here. We had a flat tire on our rented bike and replaced it three times with the “spares” only to find out that the spares were old flat tires that were useless. Missed or was late to at least three planned wine tours because of this. Absolutely unacceptable. Highly recommend that you DO NOT rent any bikes here.
Rented bikes They were helpful and really nice We had a great time
Great experience! Knowledgeable staff, felt the kids were safe all the time. Bit hot, no A/C but every effort was made to cool the place down and water was easily accessible. Love the birthday area that the staff helped me decorate.
This was an amazing experience only made better by the nice and helpful staff :)
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff! Thanks
Awesome place with really friendly staff! The Kayak rental was great, it was affordable and the kayak was good quality
The staff were very attentive and professional and shared their personal knowledge of the area and places to see. We will go again and do a longer section of the old railway
We had a great experience. Owner was super careful loading our bikes, took his time and explained what he was doing. He was able to give us interesting details about the geography surrounding the trail and where to stop along the way.
The Adventure camp was full of great learning techniques, we biked, ran, paddled, did some climbing and learned the basics of orienteering. The camp was great value for the price. I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn the basics of adventure racing or who just wants a great challenge and some new skills.
So amazing. Such a great company. Great prices. Me and my husband rented a double kayak from them. Super easy, fantastic staff. Will definitely do again and definitely reccomend to anyone
Still thinking about the wonderfully fulfilling weekend spent with the Hoodoo Adventure staff ... and fantastic "teacher/adventure-racer" Nathalie Long. The Adventure Camp exceeded my expectations and makes me keen for more! I learned proper orienteering and then got to put that to practice. Lots of running, biking, paddling, ascending, rappelling and laughing ... add some great cookies and this camp offered everything to tease me in to considering an actual adventure race!! Thank you for sharing your lived experiences and detailed stories of your adventures, Nathalie ... you, and the rest of your Hoodoo team, are the best!! Missy
Hoodoo Adventures was excellent to work with during our most recent company event. The staff was very friendly and fun, and accommodating to our continuous changes in plans. I highly recommend this company, you wont be disappointed.
Had a fabulous tour...... learned some of the history of the area and the trail itself. Trip was really easy to travel, (all downhill!!), made for an easy sightseeing venture. Guide was well versed on the area and history as well.
I find a lot of outdoor adventure companies have forgotten why they started in this business in the first place. I understand we all need to make money, but to be passionate about something and want to share it with people is what leads to a succesful business. Hoodoo Adventures is one of the companies that has not forgetten why they started doing what they are doing. Every staff member and owner I interacted with (a total of seven) were friendly, helpful, kind, and happy to put in the additional effort to make our two days with them a great learning experience. The bike I rented was in great shape, until the brand new chain broke so they gave me one of the owner's bikes (things sometimes don't go according to plan but they made it work out even better for me). They took saftey (both climbing, biking, paddling, and COVID-19) seriously, and made sure we were comfortable at every stage of the game. Honestly, you can't beat this team. Passion and knowledge. What else could you ask for?
Hoodoo Adventures is pretty good, they have lots of good programs, and the rock climbing is fun, they also have pretty good workers.
Hoodoo arranged a fantastic Family reunion Chute lake ride for 25 of us including shuttle and bike rentals! The views were spectacular and the 1/2 way ride was great for all ages from 6-65. Highly recommended!!
We had a fantastic time with the Hoodoo gang. From our first encounter on the phone through to the end of the final day all the staff were warm and super helpful. We rented bikes, used the shuttle service and also climbed. Great service and wonderful people. Highly recommended!!! Thanks for making our holiday so memorable ???? The Scotts
Jesse did a great job instructing and providing some local knowledge.
My family and I had a fantastic time climbing. Our guide Dani was incredible and really made the experience. Thanks again for a great time!
Hired bikes(3) to cycle from Chute Lake to Penticton. We were shuttled to Chute Lake by Hoodoo. We arranged at 24 hours notice and they were extremely flexible working to accommodate our plans. Bikes were in very good condition but more relevant was that during the trip one bike had a major tyre blow out destroying inner tube and tyre. Hoodoo reacted immediately getting a replacement bike to us within 45 mins which given our location was unbelievable. Would definitely recommend
Staff were very friendly especially the ladies I spoke with on the phone. The shuttle left on time and driver was very entertaining. Great experience overall. Would recommend to others!
Beware! Tried to blame me for bike damage and missing items. Having read your response, I edit by adding the following paragraph: I have now reported your company to the RCMP, your claim that I was screaming and lying and that your staff member was in tears is false, and to your false claim of racism, estaras avergonzado cuando encuentras como te falta. This review will remain until I receive an apology. I rented a mountain bike, a very basic one at the bottom of the quality scale. The bike was in useable but not great condition, a rock hard seat, and the front derailler would not stay in high gear. Lots of dirt and what appeared to be a lot of wear and tear. When I left, the staff member brought the bike out and asked me to get on and be sure the seat was at the correct height and the brakes worked, I rode a small circle and confirmed those things. He pointed out a few things, tapped the under-seat tool bag and said there was a "multi-tool and spare inner tube" inside, but never opened the bag or showed them to me. That was all he did in terms of a review of the bike condition, and it took him about 15 seconds, apart from my own riding circle. He didn't look closely at any part of the bike. I alone rode the bike for and hour and a half, and was with the bike the entire time. When I returned, a different staff member started going over the bike with a fine tooth comb. For example, she bent down and had her eye very close to the rear derailler, looking at it carefully for over a minute. As soon as she started doing this, I recognized her behaviour from previous events I'd had in other countries. She opened the under-seat tool bag and said the multi-tool and spare inner tube were missing. I was the only rider, and was in sight of the bike the entire time, therefore I knew they could not have been in the bag when I left. I immediately told her I knew what she was doing from having experienced scams overseas, and if they tried to pull that on me I would report to the police (which I am reserving at this point). The similarity to a scam I've previously experienced overseas was disappointing (where you return rented equipment and they "find" damage or missing equipment and try to blame the renter for it.) In 6 years I've only written 7 reviews. Anyone can read them and see that when I see a business that deserves accolades, I write them. When I experience something negative, I just state what happened. Avoid.
My kids have always enjoyed hoodoos camps. Now that my son is a young teen he really enjoyed the biking camps. What I appreciate is how the coordinators meet the kids where they are at in their learning and ability with outdoor sports so they become good stewards of the land and safe in the back country. Great business plan. Excellent members of the community. I really appreciate how they give back and make Penticton a better place to live.
They were really attentive to the concerns regarding the virus protection for the 8 adults in our group. They quickly and securely made sure our bikes were installed on their custom made bike trailer and then drove us uo to Chute Lake. This was our second year using Hoodoo adventures, who were excellent at their customer service before our ride, by actually calling me to confirm, our group, as it was the main reason for driving from Vancouver to Penticton. Thanks for making our trip so much fun and memorable. Cheers, Richard Boon
Highly recommend Hoodoo Adventures as the bike ride on the KVR was one of the highlights of our BC Trip. Mike was a great guide and Ariel who took my initial call went above and beyond to ensure we could ride on the one day that fit our schedule.
Great
Our hockey team had a fabulous time at Hoodoos for a year end party the use of the room and climbing structures were very accommodating, and practical. The kids loved it as they had many options for entertainment- ping pong, jenga air archery and climbing! Andreanne and Sven did an amazing job hosting us. All our needs were met, and they were very creative in keeping the children entertained.
So fun! Staff is great. . . Owner's manners are questionable.
I've had exceptional experiences each time I have done adventures with this company which include kayaking, rappelling and overnight hikes. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. I recommend all my friends to go there. I'll be going back!
Friendly, helpful and professional ! Special shout out to Mike & Tom for making our shuttle to Chute lake extra special !
great venue for a birthday party for 11-year-olds. The climbing, ping pong and air archery were a hit with the kids. Would do it again and would also consider the summer camps.
I was pleased with Hoodoo Adventure service. I intend to look into other tours when in the Penticton area next summer.
Convenient efficiant and amazing service and gear!!
They were super friendly and the bikes worked well for the wineries we were biking to.
The driver was very informative, telling us about the area, the wine tours, and all the outdoor activities available to us. Definitely would use Hoodoo for my next adventure.
I learned a lot at the avalanche training session. The question is how much will stick. ;) And the evening snowshoe/dinner was the cherry on top. Hoodoo never disappoints, and their mission is a cause I support.
I signed up for and Adventure Racing Camp It was such a great experience. The folks at Hoodoo were total professionals and a alot of fun. I can't say enough good things about Nathalie. I have taken alot of courses and training sessions and events over the years but never have I had the opportunity to learn from someone who has such a deep knowledge that can present it in a fun and informative way Thanks Nathalie and thanks Hoodoo
We rented 3 bicycles for the and found the quality of service and equipment were excellent. The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly.
We had a bachelorette party hosted by Hoodoo Adventure. It was fantastic as we kyacked from okanagan beach out to Naramata where we had a lovely wine and cheese waiting for us when we arrived. Everything was well organized allowing us to just enjoy. Highly recommend Hoodoo Adventure!
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Kick arse experience! Helpful staff!
Awesome adventure!
Great experience renting a mountain bike. Very thorough and covered all the bases. Also made a great recommendation for a stop along my biking route. Definitely would use their services again.
An amazing experience! Beautiful cycle through the KVR. Highly recommended.
Hoodoo Adventure Co. has good bikes and helmets for rent at reasonable prices. Staff were really friendly.
My school besties and I were celebrating our 50th Birthday this past weekend and what better way then a kayaking and wine and cheese tour! Sean was a great guide and made us feel at ease for those of us who have never kayak before. The wine venues he took us to were great choices. Was an event to remember!
Last year Hoodoo ran a "Survivor Day" for our group of 45 people. It was such a great day that we are doing it again in 10 days. Hoodoo for your adventures!
Hoodoo provided transportation for our group from Penticton to Myra above Kelowna. He was on time, pleasant, informative and professional. Would recommend this company to anyone. Looking forward to hiring them again next year!
Super friendly and helpful staff. The Myra canyon shuttle / ride back to Penticton was fantastic. And we rented bikes a second day to tour the trails and wineries of Naramata. Perhaps you could consider offering a discount to people who rent bikes for multiple days?
Thank you Hoodoo Adventures, we had a wonderful kayak and brunch on beautiful Okanagan Lake. Our guide Sean, was fantastic, made our experience very memorable. Look forward to booking other adventures with you.
Great company to work with. Very accommodating and flexible with my requests. Andreanne was very friendly and helpful. The ride on the KVR is super fun. We all had a great time!
Just rented bikes and did the kvr ourselves easy pick up and return, we had a late diner and wouldn’t make drop off before close, they let us take them to the hotel and return the next day with no extra charge. Really friendly!
Our driver was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable and kindly offered to take photos of our group at Chute Lake Lodge. Thanks so much!
This was the highlight of my trip out west. We ended up arriving on the ONLY day with rain but that didn't stop Mike and his team from customizing our experience to make it special. Mike and Allan drove us through dozens of vineyards and were a treasure trove of knowledge. They were charismatic, easy to get along with and really knew their grapes. Each tasting was better than the previous one and with the guys sense of humour, the day kept getting better and better. If you've ever been curious as to what a wine tour entails, I would highly highly recommend giving Hoodoo a call and booking an afternoon with them. It just might be the highlight of your trip/day too! (PS. Ask Mike to take you through the old railroad. There's a 50+ year old pizza oven!)
It was a fantastic day and they made it so easy and fun for us! They rented us some bikes and shuttled us to Kelowna. We would use this service again anytime. It was convenient and they were very flexible with times and our situation. Was a great experience!! Thank you
Very friendly staff and would recommend
I planned a group event for work with Hoodoo Adventures for kayaking and everyone had a great time! The staff was friendly and easy to work with, and with my group of 25 people, it was well done and organized. I had great feedback from my group. I would recommend Hoodoo Adventure to anyone planning a group activity, or just to do kayaking on their own.
SUCH a great experience! From communication with our booking, them accommodating dietary restrictions, their knowledge, the adventure itself and just their whole entire way of being was so so lovely. Thank you for a great bike + wine tour and for being incredible hosts!
Wonderful experience! We booked a shuttle from Penticton to Myra Canyon so that we could do a segment of the KVR Trail by bike back to Penticton. Mike drove us to the Myra Canyon drop off -- what a lucky experience that was! Mike was a wealth of information about Penticton and the Okanogan (his and his wife's roots in the community are deep). We learned about KVR history, the bike industry, and what makes Penticton different than Kelowna. THANK YOU Mike!
