Here you will be able to see all the opinions of people who are purchasing the services of Coyote Cruises (Travel Agency) near Penticton (Canada).
At the moment the business has a rating of 4.1 stars over 5 and that rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is quite good, and it is founded on a very large number of opinions, so we can say that the assessment is quite faithful. If people have bothered to leave their opinion when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to give opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Travel Agency is classified in the category of Rafting.
Skip the blown up prices of the rivers concession stand (4 people’s tubes and bus ride back up = $75!!!) and go across the street and pay $2 to blow up your floatie and take a $10 cab, or their own bus, back up like they recommended!! Awesome staff that have a great cause to keep floating down the channel affordable for all.
Nice relaxing float down a gentle river. You can bring your own float for a discounted bus pass.
Channel ride is relaxing. We had our own rafts, but IMO $10 is maybe a little steep for the bus ride back? Other than that, this is one of our go to's when we visit Penticton each year!
Cute little lazy river rafting. Good to chill out and relax. I wish I'd brought some beer. We had a gaggle of ducks escorting us which was cute.
Such a great day! $18 and you got a tube and a bus ride back to the start point! I recommend bringing a drink (cupholders in their tubes!) as it is around 3 hours long in the sun. Crew there weren't exactly the nicest, but from the sheer volume of people they're dealing with, it has to be overwhelming.
Love love love taking a float down the canal. It's a slow and relaxing great time. Very cool to be able to rent a tube and get a ride back to the vehicles. A must stop every summer ????
Must do activity in Penticton. Easy check in process and great bus service.
Definitely my favorite thing to do in Penticton. Relaxing and fun experience.
Easy to book and relatively low pricing. Younger summer time staffing that's full if energy but sometimes aren't paying attention
Psy to float in a river full of fecal mater, never again
Booking was pretty easy, though signing the waivers was a bit confusing between the web interface and email. Service was great at the station, but one of our floats leaked, and a friend bought a wet bag that had a hole in it. Bus ride back was prompt and easy. 3.5 stars.
Staff at the ticket counter is rude, and not able to confirm on availability of the quad or larger size rafts. Pathetic service.
A weird review - but we had to cancel our trip to the region due to the wild fires after pre-booking the 'quad islands'. I requested a refund and confirmation and within 30 minutes of the request I received an acknowledgement w/ no questions asked that the refund was on its way. I appreciated the prompt customer service and will hopefully get to try Coyote Cruises the next time we are in the region.
Floating down the canal is so much fun! You can rent tubes here and pay for the bus ride back. If the canal is moving slowly they will pick you up at the half-way point. If the canal is moving quickly then you may get to go the whole length of the canal. It takes about and hour to an hour and a half.
Not open today (Aug 1st) when there was no indication it would be closed. Everything is all boarded up. Out of business?
Cons: No one on the bus ride back to starting point was wearing a mask even though there's a mandatory mask mandate in Central Okanagan. The driver didn't say anything either. Came here in summer 2020 and the staff were much more alert about COVID protocols and would be passing out masks to everyone boarding the bus. Pros: Had a good experience floating down the river, was visited by numerous ducks along the way. The check-in process was easy since we pre-booked online. Sadly due to the weather and winds, there were sections of the river where you were not moving at all and had to paddle or get in the river and pull/push float.
Float your worries away :)
Loved it. Had a great time drifting down the river and even jumped in to swim for a bit a few times. Water was very warm and clear. Nice and friendly staff. Would do it again next time we are here.
Great concept but a missed opportunity. There are no lockers and they don't sell sunscreen both of which are no brainers. They refused to serve water unless you buy bottled. Tube + bus prices are up 50% this year. It's cheaper for two people to just buy a inflatable tube/dingy from Wal-Mart than to rent from here. Floating the channel is a great but it's definitely worth saving the money and doing it on your own if you can.
The staff were friendly, covid safe, and very helpful. We enjoyed our time in the canal.
The ultimate summer experience.
Had a blast took the last bus back and the driver was so amazing did the whole 2.5 hours and it was worth it
The channel is always a good time.
Superb
Lots of fun friendly staff
Fun way to catch some rays. People on the water are friendly. Be very careful when going under bridges. Staff who operate the buses could make more effort. The attitude of staff is rude and the transportation is dirty.
Nice ride down the canal. Great way to drink beer!
This was a blast down the lake...we even had other groups joining in on throwing our Frisbee
Great idea that is poorly executed. Lots of fun once you actually get in the water. It is best to bring your own floating device as they are always short on tube rental. Bus driver made the trip worth it.
This is one of the best things to do in BC during summer. Awesome idea, service and location. Highly recommended! I'll come back every year.
Great experience with water channels . Very safe suggest let all kid wear life jacket + floating boat
They don't follow their hours close when they want. Make it so you can't catch a cab. Very poorly run business.
I liked the convenience of renting a tube and getting a bus ride back for fairly cheap. This was a fun little experience but maybe not quite what I expected.
This was an absolute blast can't wait to go again next year more often. They have single double and party floaties, although I may park my car at the end next year as the bus can get very full if you are at the end of the day
Awsome
Fun place.
It was a pleasure. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable, the prices are very reasonable, and it was a fantastic way to make it through the heat wave. The water is pretty clean and cool but not too cold, and the ride takes about 3 hours but you can get off around an hour in. :) Fantastic if you have free time and just want to relax.
Gotta do it. It is a nice relaxing float. Take some liquids as it gets very hot with the waters reflection and all.
They got too expensive! It's actually cheaper to take a cab..
Great service. 18CAD per person or bring your own float and only pay 5CAD for the bus
Really poor customer service makes it hard to plan to use their service. They do not answer the phone, their text message replies provide limited information, and they do not reply to emails.
This was so fun for our family of 4. The quad float was awesome, even for our small 5 year old and the half way point was plenty of floating on the super hot day we went. A great way to spend a hot day! Would do again.
Great food great service!
Don't get me wrong, it is a really enjoyable way to spend a hot day, just make sure you have waterproof sunblock. However, in recent years the place has gone a little downhill. They don't rent out tubes for the whole ride anymore, just the halfway point. If you want the full ride, you'll need to bring your own tube or raft.
We had a fantastic time floating down the channel and can't wait to make it a yearly thing!
Great fun for the whole family. I would go back again
Staff was quick and efficient at getting our tubes ready. Hit the water and had a GREAT time!
We go every year that we are down here. We have not had any problems and we rent the tubes+ bus ride back. We bring our cooler full of booze, water, and pizza. It is a great time! There are also always families on this river. It does get pretty deep in some spots so make sure to put a life jacket on your kid if they cant swim because the current would probably be strong for them.
When the building is close but the staff is still here. Trying to tell them that I cant blow a floatie due to heart problems. The young men just laughed at me... and said not my problem... VERY RUDE STAFF...
30th birthday was a blast! thank you Coyote Cruises!
Wasn't open when the website said they would be. Very unprofessional.
Dont like the prices.do love floating
Loved the Cruise would definitely do it again.
You gotta do tubing in Penticton! The tubing services were well organized. You can rent tubes from them or you can bring your own tubes and blow them up here. They have singles, doubles, and a quad tube. Also a giant party tube you can rent. At the end you are able to take a shuttle that comes every half hour back to the origin. The entire thing took about 3 hours. Would love to do this again.
Did not get any pictures but in the summer it was the best it was not dreadfully and was nice and cold water it would be the place to go as everywhere else is stupid expensive for what you get compared to this I’m sad I didn’t snap any photos but was a great ride
One of the best things you can do in Penticton! The staff were great and covid procedure followed so that everyone was safe the entire time. We had booked a timeslot ahead online, but when we got there we still had to wait 30 mins to pickup our tube. Otherwise it was a great experience.
Tubes were just plain tubes, no back to lean against, but not expensive either. Friendly staff. Great lazy float down calm bit of river. Halfway bridge offered shop with refreshments and Live music provided by Relvis ! He was fun! Bus ride home was a highlight!!! Had the greatest bus driver who cranked the tunes and had us all belting out some classic rock and dance stuff! Made our day! Watch for the blue school bus with racks on top! Fun wagons????
Over all we had a fun time... it can be quite boring unless do something while floating down (good ideas are music, drinks, pizza, snorking masks to hang over your tube and look at fish underwater). The current is not slow, but not fast, it is a safe speed. Note that you cannot rent a tube alone, you must get a bus ride as well ($12 together). Also remember that they accept only cash but do have an atm. Another cool thing is that they are dog friendly, and we floated down with our small dog and haven't had a problem, and we saw another couple with a medium sized dog with them (make your dog stay on your lap the whole time). Also, it's better to go on a week day, because the canal is less crowded and the line up is faster. Also choose a day that isn't hot, because it can get pretty hot on July and August days (bring water!!) It took us about 2 hours to float to the very end, which is reasonable and we didn't get too bored. Have fun!!
Problems with parking - all parking at the end was blocked for public use. This is public place, but local business uses it and blocks public from using it. Very unfair! Prices for the ride back are going up each year. In 2020 they charge $10 per person. $18 if you rent a float. This is rediculosly high for minimal services they provide. I took a taxi back fo $20. If you have 2 people or more don't take their polluting bus and save! Don't forget to bring your pump as they charge from $5 to $20 per floaty. Overpriced, underserved, unfriendly businesses
Great for a day in the sun ????
Water is clear happy people walking around and doing absolutely nothing for two hours as you bathe in the sun who wouldn’t say that’s a good time
Only $18 per person to rent tubes and get the bus back to the start of the channel. It took us about 1.5 hours to do, but it has been faster or slower other years depending on how much water there is. I have never rented tubes before but we felt that was a fair price for almost 2 hours of entertainment
The float was great. Huge improvement in the actual buildings, clean washrooms. Friendly staff. The bus ride back was great and the driver had lots of good info on the channel. Watched staff help save 2 different groups of people from going past the dangerous point where there is under tows, great job.
Good service and friendly staff. Bring SNACKS and a portable speaker!
Always love going here every summer. Possible ! Animals. kids.just be smart and safe going down river/channel. Better with a group. Awesome for sun tanning :) tune.smiles.
Great experience. Super friendly staff.
Very Relaxing Ride Down the Channel. Place can be very busy! So plan early! Staff help at the end of channel, come help you out of your tube and take care of tube. Very affordable prices which include bus ride back to beginning!
They were closed when we went but in the past have been great
Really awesome for summer ???????????? Enjoyed a lot.. ????????
Had a blast with my son. Quick and easy, friendly staff. Must do when you are in Penticton.
Be aware that the river float follows beside the highway, which we did not realize. Still, though, we had a lot of fun, and the rest rentals are worth it for the comfort - we booked the 8 person rest for 5 people and it was awesome to have the space.
It gets crowded around 11AM so be prepared to wait a bit for a tube to become available. Also there could be a wait for the bus to leave on the return voyage but they keep the machine running as fast as they can. Good value and hassle free.
You have to float down the canal this summer. It’s a lot of fun and way cheaper to use coyote cruises bus service than taking a taxi.
Fun but need to work on speed of lineups
Our group went with the pre-booking of two quad tubes and bus combo via website. It was excellent from beginning to end. The staff was friendly and helpful. We checked in with wristbands, grabbed our tubes and headed to the river. Someone explained to us the instruction and liabilities, and we made our way down the river. Then we waited in line to take the bus back to the start. They had lines on the floor to guide people where to stand. While the wait time was a bit little lengthy (every 30 mins), we understood that the processes are longer with COVID. Once the bus arrived, they hand sanitized us and provided masks. Honestly overall great experience and would highly recommend their services!
Highly recommend the 5 L waterproof bag and phone pouch. Everything gets wet.
So happy this is affordable for both the tube rental and bus ride. My son's first float he loved it.
Nice chillaxing experience
Would've been great if they explained to us that you can float all the way down and still get a bus ride up. The website hasn't been updated since 2014, and their signs said you only got to rent the tubes until the half way point. We waited an hour for the bus, when in that time we could've made it all the way down (the river is extremely high this year, so half way was only 30 min, but the website said one to two hours) When we asked what was taking so long they said they didn't have an answer. Long story short, the float itself was amazing, short but amazing. The staff need to be better at communicating that you can take the rented tubes all the way down. The kids working at the halfway point yelled at a few ppl to keep going, but we had already turned our tubes in, assuming what the signs and website said to be true.
Summer time, it's a nice relaxing activity with the fiver flows.
We rented one of the 4 person party rafts for 2 adults and 3 children. Raft was in good condition and had more than enough room. The bottom was mesh so your feet do sit in water. Convenient rental and shuttle. Be water smart, wear a life Jacket if you're not a strong swimmer and pay attention to the signs at the end. Masks were provided for the shuttle back people were physically distanced on the bus.
Great fun for a good price! The inflatables were new and comfortable, all the staff were very nice and the bus ride was efficient and quick.
We had so much fun. The quads is perfect for our family, stable, good speed on a breezy day.
Fun time, rented the 12 person tube, good for kids and families. Friendly staff and used open minded thinking.
The staff was not friendly the lady who served me didn't really answer and she was so grumpy. The upside is that this is a great way to get back up the river after tubing. I am unhappy it(the bus) only goes to the halfway point though
Amazing all day experience of floating down the river. The rental tube and bus ride are all day till last tubing at 5 pm . Price for all day unlimited rides was around $18. Get a waterproof phone case or you can buy one there.
The place is very mismanaged and does not follow any safety procedures I and my wife almost lost our lives They don’t inform you how to off board and theere are not enough signs at the end to off the river At the end of the river, where it merges with the larger lake body there is a sign danger don’t cross the bridge - so that made us jump in the water so as we would not cross the bridge. Our intention was to jump and swim to the shore. But the current was so strong that me and my wife were both dragged with the water. We are decent swimmers and we’re not able to reach the shore which is a couple of foot away - so strong is very strong . The crew were not able to help us inspite of crying for help. Finally someone with the boat helped us The business must be shut down !
Locals and tourists will agree its the best thing to do for free.
Absolutely fantastic. Will be back again!
Relaxing float along the river. The bus brings you back to the original location
We booked the night before and we were able to reserve a tube. It was a fun experience and I would definitely do it again. Extremely busy tho.
Definitely one of pentictons funnest attractions
They want $10 per person just for the bus... 3 of us = $30. Got a CourtesyTaxi for >$12 from middle channel.
Quick, efficient process and friendly staff. As a Victor to the area a great option to having to buy an inner tube etc.....shuttle bus worked well with staff providing masks for ALL passengers.
Great time!
New quad inflatables are a hazard on the canal. Customers are unable to steer them, they ride high in the water and plow into other canal users. Even worse when they combine them into a triple.
So fun! Awesome for a family afternoon. I'd go again and again if I lived in the area!
So much fun! You can cruise in a chill or party way, you choose.
The float was enjoyable but I found that half their staff didn't really know what was going on and they would give us different answers for what we were asking for. We went with a group of 7 people and wanted something for a couple of us and a child and one staff said they only had single tubes and another said they had a raft we could use. We ended up getting the raft but halfway down it started deflating and we were mostly in the water which wasn't the greatest experience. Overall I would say that it was a good experience but the staff seemed scattered and disorganized.
Super fun ride on this beautiful water channel. Water ride is nice and relaxing experience, having bus shuttle including the tube cost makes it very convenient. I wish there was a bouncer for kicking out drunk teenages to make it more family friendly, one drop of star is for that reason
Super fun floating the river from okanagan lake to skaha lake. They rent "floaties" if you need one and provide a ride back to where you began. Full trup about 3 1/2hours
Went on a two person float, the current of the water kept pushing us to the side, they really need to give every an oar. It really help to steer and to float in the correct direction.
This was so fun we had alot of fun and a good laugh p.s dont feed the ducks.
It’s a decent basic service... you get a ride back to your vehicle. Note that they have no lockers for your valuables. This makes it a little awkward, especially what to do with your modern keys. We used an empty reusable water bottle. It floats and the key fob was safe!
We used our own kayaks, and it was amazing and funny. We didn't stopped at the end of the last point we paddled through the lake.
Floating down the channel was a really fun and relaxing experience. Coyote Cruises was efficient, signage was clear about when to leave the river, and bus trip back to where we parked was quick. I would do this again!
We had a great time! Everything went really smoothly and they have excellent covid-19 protocols in place. Going again soon!
Issues reported in 1 star reviews tend to be people who either showed up late or were expecting something more and a float down a river. Was great, got exactly what expected. Got out at midpoint.
Slow ride on the lake
Offers a great service for having fun on the canal! Their inflatable air service is handy for those who can spare $2 or don't have a airpump.
Teenage employees at the top of the river were quite nice and helpful, but the workers at the bottom are absolutely useless. They feign the image of helping you off your float, when in reality they're not doing anything at all. The worker who was not able to hold the float to help us get off at the bottom of the river resulted in me fracturing my thumb, as the stairs to exit are extremely slippery. We also did not notice any signs indicating the stairs were slippery, and after a few of us fell, the workers did not help, did not ask if we were okay, and just stood there and laughed.
Excellent
Great experience. Well organized, Covid cautious. Friendly staff
I thought my 7 &9 year olds would be bored buy they loved it! 3.5 hours of floating. Bring a cooler and snacks!
Great way to spend a beautiful afternoon in Penticton. Coyote made it easy with friendly staff and quality equipment. Shuttle driver was friendly. Everything went perfectly. I’d recommend checking h to is out in a hot summer day for sure!
fun cheap thing to do. float down a ditch and get picked up for 6$ for bus ride should be 5$ but whatever too busy on weekends
Just picking up all the kids but they said it was very enjoyable
Wow. Unless you need a tube for floating, definitely avoid this place as a shuttle service. Waited over an hour in 30 C today for the shuttle to come, when there was another shuttle company coming every 20 minutes and only charges $5 (coyote charges $10!!!). Tried calling the number listed to see when the shuttle was coming and no answer! Completely unsatisfied customer Edit: since I have posted this review, they have since responded to more recent 5 star review, and ignored any more recent reviews 4 stars or less, including mine
One of the best place in Okanagan Valley and we really loved the lazy river ride. Even if you don't know swimming, put on the life jacket and go ahead in the river. The tubes provided by the company are well maintained however I feel they need to be little proactive and help the ones who need a hand to get in the river. They do help at the end of the channel however they expect people to be on the right hand side always which may not happen. I would really suggest them to put on a rope on the river so that even if someone is unable to stop by on right hand side stop, they can easily catch the rope and slide through to the end point. They do provide bus facility from the end point till the start point. Worth checking out this place if you haven't been.
Very fun idea for anyone visiting penticton strongly recommend but only go half way cause if it gets windy ur gonna need a stronger swimmer to pull u threw it all..
Coyote Cruises is a must do in Penticton. Well organized, i was able to chat through text message days prior to our activity and they answered all of my questions in a timely fashion. Their COVID protocol is great - we felt very safe. Way to go Coyote!!!
So relaxing.
Pathetic.... the city should yank their business licence, Drove from Kelowna and the staff were sitting around at 2:20 in the afternoon saying the place was closed because people were saying it was to cold. The sun had just come out and it was a glorious day. Avoid this company at all costs and take your own tubes and arrange you own ride back. I think you can get a cab if do no have a car from the far end. Website and voicemail never updated..... a blot on the Penticton tourist industry for sure.
Busses are old
Fun in the Sun:)
Good idea, very poorly executed. The staff is so rude and unhelpful. The signs along the lake are poorly made and there’s no one to help get out or even guide you out. Waited 35 mins for the bus wet on a cold and rainy afternoon.
The river channel is wonderful, but the Coyote Cruises business could use some improvement. Information on the website is two years out of date. It and the signs at the entrance indicate you can only rent a tube to the halfway point. In reality, you can rent a tube for the full distance. The end result was a much shorter float than we should have had, followed by a near-hour long wait for the shuttle bus. Would recommend bringing your own floatie and arranging your own pickup at the bottom.
Costs seem to continually rise. The float down the canal is great, if you have the vehicles it's easy enough to park one at the start and end and save a few bucks.
Always love this great fun for the family ????????????????
Amzing experience about three hours of Fun! We rented a tubes very easily and smoothly! Relaxation on the river! By the end of the floating there was a bus to take us back to the starting point. Lots of parking! If you have your tube it is going to be cheaper! Renting the tube and the bus ride is going to cost 18 dollars per person! Very reasonable price!
Great fun and friendly service. They do offer mask.
Love floating the Channel, it's my happy place. Nice relaxing float
Ordered online. Everything was quick and efficient, no issues at all.
I've never rented from them but the workers are all great! When it's really busy you'll see them helping people out at the end of the channel (pre covid). They are super helpful if you have any questions. And they are super fast and affordable if you need them to fill up your own personal inner tube/floaties.
They need a new bus for tourist. After hearing about dog jumping into channel come out with needle jabbed into it's leg.Not a place I would recommend to anyone.
I travelled hours to this place and they were closed even though their website and answer machine said they were open. I should had checked the reviews here before going as many others had similar experiences.
Water was beautiful and warm. A perfect not too hot day. Time to relax and get the tan going
Waterproof phone pouch for $7.50, very happy!!!
What we call the Penticton chunnel. Swim or float. They have life jackets available.
loved the 3.5 hour trip down the channel. half way down there is an amazing native banoc and traiding post you can stop at if you get hungry or its just to long of a ride. ether way i would suggest going. i loved it.
So we packed up 6 adults and 6 kids for a fun afternoon. Checked the times on the website AND the automated voicemail. It says open 10 to 5. So after sun screening and hydrating everybody, we made our way to Coyote at 4:20pm. Plenty of time right? WRONG! They were closed. Everybody was still there, just refusing to help us. They say they close at 4pm. Where are the signs saying that? Just a shrug from the "manager" who was slumped in a chair dealing with literally 6 crying kids from behind his one-way sunglasses. There was ZERO acknowledgement of any confusion their "opening hours" could have caused. "Come back tomorrow" was his only solution. Unfortunately we just drove an hour here from Osoyoos, and that's not an option to do again. While we were there, another couple arrived, and they had actually called to confirm times in the morning. They were also out of luck. More shrugs. It makes me think that this operation is just run by a bunch of teenagers who make their own hours as they see fit. Or an owner who doesn't care to make his operation hours clear. Who knows, we will be back, but will NEVER use their services. Too bad.
Very easy to book. So many choices of floaties and they take care of everything. Good customer service. Not overly expensive for what you're getting either. Had a blast!
Staff was extremely rude. Explained nothing and then was even rude about the few questions we did have to ask. Poor business doings...
Appears to be out of business and boarded up.
The river is free if you want to take your own floater to go on it but unless you have 2 cars its hard to get back. I would say for the price they offer great value if you use there tubes or take advantage of the bus trip back. The river is a lot of fun to float down and enjoy the sunshine. Always fun and recommend trying it.
Always a blast and so relaxing! We always do the channel float every time we're in Penticton...
One of our all time favourite family adventures! Reserving our quad float online was quick and easy. The staff members were friendly and efficient. The memories we made were fantastic! Highly recommend bringing life jackets for the kids and letting them hop on and off throughout the ride! Thank you for a wonderful experience! ❤️
Tubes were okay, we rented the double. Details and river safety was well explained. COVID-19 safety practices were not. Washrooms had no signs or reminder about hand hygiene. No social distancing was maintained at the beginning and end, especially in the bus ride back. Staff wearing masks were inconsistent. I’d recommend this place, but if the pandemic is still on going, avoid the bus and the staff.
Very relaxing way to spend a few hours. Service was good. Staff helpful and friendly. Highly recommended
Was a fantastic time today. We brought our own float. Just to be aware: The orange floats are $25 per person, but to take one even if you have 2 people you have to pay $100.
The best thing to do in Penticton. Float the channel.
So relaxing! Staff was super nice and bus arrived within 7-10 mins.
Everyone should float the Channel
Not very scenic , it's like a tube cruise through the middle of a highway, so it's loud and grungy looking. The water looks murky as well. HOWEVER, nobody really says anything if you take beers and a Bluetooth speaker, so on the better summer days it's like a floating party. There are also two busses at two different points that take you back to your car. You don't need a tube of your own you can also rent one, so you can just arrive in your swim trunks with your booze in reusable containers because there's no place to put your garbage while you float (obviously).
Excellent experience! I would do this again any time! I’m not sure why the bad reviews as we had excellent costumer service, an awesome quad float, it was safe, and good cleaning protocols were in place. 10/10!!!
The canal is the best place to cool off and relax on a hot Okanagan day. You can always take your own tube/inflatable but you'll have to deflate it to get on the bus for the trip back. Our preference is to park a car at the end so we can take our own vehicle back. On weekdays, the bus only goes halfway (not all the way to Skaha lake) but the price is still the same. There is a charge to use their air compressor to blow up each device (worth it for big items) If you stop or pause at the half way point, make sure to visit Relvis (Res Elvis) and grab a bannock burger.
New owners. Re opening in June. I was there quoting on a job for part of their extensive make over and renovations. This place is going to be the hot spot this summer to cool down and enjoy a great piece of penticton.
amazing place to float the canal!
Waste of money - bus broke down- zero refunds. I'm only giving a 1 star because I have to give something. We had to pay for a cab to get back to our vehicle. They are crooked. It's not worth your money.
I've never been disappointed . We go every year! The crew do their best, especially having to deal with a large number of people every day all day.
They have a good selection of inflatable’s, one seater, two seater, and the big four seater. We booked a bunch of them, everything went really well, and the staff was helpful and friendly. There was a bit of confusion about them picking us up, they told us to get off half way and then they weren’t there, but they sent the bus really quick
Very fun. You will have a blast for 18$.
Friendly staff and a great place to enjoy the lazy river
My partner and I went here! It was her first time and, not her last. We both loved it! It was how I remembered it as a kid when my family used to come here. Great people, service and a scenic ride. A must do for anyone! PS: The ducks are very friendly haha.
So relaxing! 2 hours of floating in beautiful sunshine
Experience was fun, lots of people brought ropes and coolers to bring down with them. It wast too busy when we went so it was nice to relax, drink and listen to our music. Bus was there waiting for us (a little dirty but wasn't expecting limo service or anything) Unfortunately it closed early the day before because of the smoke but I'm glad we got to experience it. Definitely bring your own floats if you can. They only had regular black tubes to rent. There was a line to blow up the floats so just be aware. Staff were not professional at all and when we went to ask for something, the employee walked away saying "i don't work here" and stated to her colleagues she was going on a 30 minute break
Great experience. Booked online which made it easy for pick up the next day. I know you can float this river for free but when you're from out of town and have kids, renting floating tubes from here is way easier. Plus you get a shuttle bus ride back to your car included in the price. Totally worth it.
Floating on the canal is great fun
The float down the canal was great, however the price of $10 to inflate a 2 person floatie and $10 per person for a one way 10 minute bus ride is overpriced!
One of the must-do activities in the Okanagan! Do not tie your rafts together. There are multiple bridge abutments your group will encounter as you float down the channel. Getting caught on one of these is something that is not easily sorted out. Stay safe, have fun!
Best thing I've done all Summer. It wasn't that busy when I was there. Early afternoon was great. Can't wait to go again next year.
Fun thing to do in summer.
I had a great time floating down the channel. I found the staff were very friendly and took all precautions necessary to make me feel comfortable. They sanitized all the tubes and buses and provided face masks for the bus ride back. I would definitely do it again.
Absolutely Fantastic Adventure. If you like water fun, it's for you definitely ???? ???? ???? ☺ ????.....
Really good. We brought our own tube so just paid for the shuttle bus back to our truck following the float. Both staffers we dealt with- the ticket person and the bus driver- were friendly and helpful.
We went here with our 4 persons boat. The river was nice and fun but when we got to the end there was no bus we had to wait for an hour for the bus I called the place and they said the bus goes back and forth but not worth the wait a taxi is much better as we paid $6 per person for the bus.
Great fun! Great value! Good physical distancing activity! We booked a 4 person tube for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids ages 8 and 9. We were pleasantly surprised to be handed a giant orange tube that had a mesh bottom and plenty of room for the 4 of us and our cooler! We took a light swim backpack to carry our thongs. We intended to tie it on but with all the space it wasn't necessary. We just left them floating in the mesh. As first-timers, the instructions at the send off were great. They showed us pictures of what the exit signs looked like and helped us launch. With the mesh bottom, you could cool off without leaving the tube, but my husband and one of the kids jumped out and swam alongside as well. The mesh bottom would be ideal for very young children! It was the end of July and they told us that the dam was still fully open so it was a quick ride at about 1 hr 15 mins, but you could go again with your wristband (just not on a quad). We ended up going twice more, both times on double tubes which are more traditional tubes with open donut holes The girls actually seemed to enjoy this more as they were able to get in and out of the tube or just dangle their legs. We had a short piece of rope that we held at times when we wanted to stick together. *Note that tying tubes together is not permitted. We had a soft insulated cooler bag from IKEA that we tied off onto one of the tube handles and dragged it along in the water. There are washrooms at the launch area and an Edo Japan about a 4 minute walk from the launch if you need to feed the troops. There is also a food truck at the exit area, but we hopped on the bus right away so didnt see what they had. The buses were pretty quick and they sprayed your hands and gave you a disposable mask before you got on. Our bus driver was fabulous. Really loves her job and it shows. There are washrooms at the launch area. Along the channel we saw fish, ducks at the waters edge and barn swallow nests in the bridge rafters. It was pretty neat to see ducks flying beside you - you don't often get to see them at that angle! We paid $120 taxes included for the tube rental, bus trips and a waterproof iphone case on a lanyard. The case and lanyard is highly recommended - we saw two iPhones in the bottom of the channel that day and it was also nice to get some photos. Our whole family had a great day in the water. We thought it was great value and a great family activity and will definitly do it again next year! PS if you have snorkels and goggles, bring them!
It's was calming and fun, never too hot or cold.
Disappointed not to have been able to utilize their service. Would have brought tubes from Vancouver. Now without knowing it was closed need to buy new ones
Delightful experience. Very relaxing
The staff was good and kind. We rented a quad island bus combo, which means we could go down the lazy river all day until closing. The problem was that the wind was blowing like crazy in the opposite direction of the river stream and the island was pretty high above the water which was slowing us down significantly. All other, smaller floaties were faster than us and bumping us occasionally. At one point I jumped into the water and pull the island which helped a little, but it was hard to hold on to it, as it has just small rings that are used for tying it. My hand slipped and I lost my grip. The river was fast and carried me away before I could catch it again. I used all my strength to swim back, but I couldn't reach it. I am not a bad swimmer, but the current was too strong and the wind was slowing down the island to a crawl. While my family panicked, I swam to the edge and waited for them to pass, which allowed me to catch them from behind. Directions to the end of the ride were clear, every 100 meters, but the wind there was the strongest, so we were not moving forward at all, on the contrary. We started moving backward. I had to use the paddle they provided to finally get to the end. The ride was supposed to last and hour or so, but it was three hours for us. We didn't go again as we were all exhausted, so the package wasn’t really useful for us. We found out that there is an option to pay only for the bus and use your own floatie, which we had. That option wasn't on the site. If we knew that, we would've saved money. In short, the staff is good, it's kind of pricey and the ride isn't always smooth.
One of my absolute favourite things to do in the summer is float down the Penticton River channel. With the new management/owners and their new pricing, I'm disappointed. Over priced.
Price gouging this year, you're better off buying a tube from Walmart, it will set you back the same price as a rental, bring an air pump too as they charged us 10 bucks to inflate a double tube that took 1 minute total. And don't bother with the bus you'll be waiting with a bunch of others for way too long in the heat. Just grab one of the cabs waiting along the way, you'll be spending the same on a cab and your own tube and pump as you would their rentals, air and bus service. The only point they got is for hiring younger people who are polite and handle the busy line up's well. The staff were great and even opened the washroom after closing for us, staff gets 5/5 stars. The rest is a rip off.
The staff were great, the float was really fun. But at the exit point there is a food truck, a long wait for the bus back... and not even a porta potty? I guess make sure to pee in the channel before you get out of the water. Not sure why the health department allows this. Hopefully this won't be an issue anymore when they open next year, but the bus was definitely a covid risk. Full of drunk people yelling back and forth at each other. The guy in front of us kept pulling his mask down to shout moistly to his friends behind us. Really should have taken a taxi back. If you have kids, don't take the bus. It was like being in a bar at closing time. We would absolutely go again, but with a cab to get back to the starting point.
It was a great experience floating in the river. Fantastic help and guidance by Coyote Cruises. I definitely wish to come again
From okanagan lake to skaha lake there's a channel that flows through, and we can float on it! Usually about 60-180 minutes averaged depending on flow. Water is pretty clean at the bottom you can see, there are some deep spots on the channel, I heard it's because they have deep divers who go down there every year to clean and retrieve people's belongings at a lost and found. If I lived in penticton, I'd do this many times a week. They are the ones floaty capital of Canada. Also they have taxis, school buses that can take you back at a price.
Great experience! We rented the 4 person party island so we could have more space for two people. The staff is helpful and very friendly. Helped us getting the party island in the water and removing it when we got to the exit. We loved seeing the ducks so close, we were also able to see a few fishes which was so cool! Even a little snake was in the lake. The water wasn’t too cold and we took a dip in the lake which was so refreshing. Every single staff member was wearing masks and gloves. The bus driver was also providing sanitizer and masks to everyone. We loved it so much, we did this twice. So much fun!
Great experience! From the minute we arrived and we’re greeted by friendly and professional staff to our departure, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer time. Highly recommend floating the channel with Coyote!
Love it! Tubes snack water sun & even a ride back! What more could you ask for?!
So fun. A must do in Summerland.
the run is great, would have been great if someone was at the end to assist exit, gotten toppled over by the madness at the end of the float, lost a Bluetooth speaker and had to purchase two new cellphones. waterproof bag purchased there was not so waterproof. would of had 5 stars if the exit plan was done better by this company.
Great value, good service, great at following Covid safety regulations.
Good experience in a hot day
This a must do while visiting...
I'm going every year. It is fully worth it. No packing a float and a bus ride back.
Rating this low solely because it was listed as open, but is closed for the season. Please update your hours and i will give you the 5 stars you deserve!
Great way to spend 2-3 hours, relaxing,
Price is good for value. Fun and relaxing float. Efficient even with crowds and all the new covid protocol. Nice young kids working there. Would recommend!
The canal itself was a staple summer activity for a long time with my family. It's a great way to spend a hot summer day with a floating cooler and some friends drifting slowly down the canal.
Take a day to float the channel, you probably won't regret it
We had so much fun. The young people that work there are so good. One young lady named Alexis was particularly helpful! We are coming back today.
Their tubes suck the company is dirty the bus is old and stinks, once heard that they wanted to be able to charge anyone who wanted to go down the channel an entry fee... Haha what a joke. I would suggest getting your own tube. Hopefully another business shows up that's better than this one.
DON’T USE COYOTE CRUISES!!!!!! It was pouring rain so we came off the channel early and walked to the end assuming we can catch the bus. It took half an hr for it to come, that busy was full so we waited another half hr for the second one and then they said we can’t get on because we don’t have a armband so I told the driver i have cash to pay for it but he told me to get off the bus because it’s against their policy for people to pay cash for it so we had to walk back to the car for 30mins in the freezing cold. There was no sign anywhere saying you need an armband. And how they can abandon two freezing young girls is beyond me. Coyote Cruises needs to rethink how they deal with people, and let people pay cash if they want to. It’s better to bring two cars down and not bother with this.
We had a great time doing absolutely nothing floating down the river. The staff members were very helpful and patient, explaining all of the rules and potential issues to us. I would do it again!
Great experience. Shallow water and lots of fun
Lazy River Lake - or formally called as Coyote Cruises. There is a man-made connection between Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake. The water flows south to Skaha Lake and the stream is slow. The water depth is not more that 5 feet. You can see people in floats floating on this water stream relaxing and having a good time. The complete stream takes about 3.5 hours. You can choose to leave at the mid- point which about 1.5 hours. You can rent a float and also take a bus ride back to the starting point at $18. Inflation of your personal float is at $5. Only bus ride back is $10. You can choose to take your personal float and arrange for a ride back, and this save you all the money. If you are in Penticton, do not forget to go for the ride. This is fun and relaxing at the same time. Experience - 10 Price - $0 to $18 (per person)
Bring your own tube. Service is poor and the bus never comes at proper intervals. Response to the owner - actually no, you don't meet any of those commitments. I've had to take a cab back 3 years in a row. This past year I did bring my own tube and your staff wouldn't even let me purchase air.
River was closed due to rapid flow
Staff was awesome, super friendly, efficient and we had a blast.
Great way to spend a afternoon
No issues with the staff or the shuttle. They offer pick up at half point or the end of the channel. We paid 10$ each to be picked up at the end. We saw the shuttle leaving when we were almost done but quickly an other one came right away and we got in. Took us 2h30 for the full channel. Had a great time !
We had a great day as we were all first timers floating down the canal with Coyote Cruises We would highly recommend all to put on your bucket list !!
We booked a quad with the bus ride for 4 people and it was great! The float was roomy and comfortable and we brought along a cooler with drinks and snacks. The ride was a lot of fun! I think the ducks and geese are used to people feeding them because they kept following us the minute we opened a bag of chips. It was a bit windy the day we went and found ourselves running into the sides a few times. But the rental included a paddle which made coaxing the big float in the direction we wanted to go a little easier. The ride was quick the day we went and we did the entire length of the river ride in just over 2 hours. Special thanks to Lucas who basically did everything! He signed us in, explained the entire ride, got us the quad float, and put us into the river. Overall, he provided great customer service! I wish his co-workers were as helpful and efficient. Also, they could be a little more organized. We booked in advance online and lined up in the tube pick-up area as directed. But people who literally just purchased tickets were being sent to the front of the line in front of us which didn't make sense. People who buy tickets onsite should get in line with everyone else to pick up their tubes. Other than those few snags at check-in the whole experience was enjoyable!
It is a lot of fun and the staff were helpful and polite. It is a lovely channel to float on between Lake Orkanagon and Lake Skaha.
I only used the inflation service. Cheap, fast and ready to launch right there.
Really relaxing. A double tube for 2 people is $40. The journey was 1.5 hours in mid-August. Bring water and sunscreen.
An easy day on the water. What can you really say? All they have to do is give you a tube and let you float. The young lady who gave us our briefing was nice enough, but was somewhat shocked when I asked for life jackets for our kids. In the end one of the double tubes seemed to be leaking, but it lasted half way which was good enough for those who were in it. The other five of us continued to the end. A fun time was had by all!
The tube ride was amazing, but I suggest bringing your own tubes instead if you are on a budget!
Great experience, if you book online, there are no signs to direct you... You straight go to pick your tube line and get the tube and wrist band (remind staff to give you the wrist band). Hope this helps. Cheers!
Super fun, good price. Mucho sunburn
It's 100% worth the sunburn.
Awsom float did it mid September sow was a little cold and took 3hrs but saw lots of fish and ducks that joind us on the float
Awesome experience! Fun, no hassle and quick
Coyote cruises provides rafting tubes for the penticton channel float as well as a bus to bring you back to the starting point. The price is reasonable at $6 per tube and $6 per bus passenger. Service is reasonable but not exceptional. They only take cash so leave your plastic at home. The float takes about 90 minutes and leaves from 215 Riverside drive in penticton. The bus pickup is just before the channel enters skaha lake.
The channel is lovely. Sadly the disembarking steps are slimy and treacherous. The amount of trash left by visitors at the end, along the banks and at the beach is disgusting. The west side of the beach and the underpass are the filthiest and most unkept tourist areas that I have ever witnessed, as is the parking fiasco. Whoever is in charge of maintaining these areas should be ashamed.
Great place to launch your raft for the canal float between lakes in Penticton. The launching is free. They charge $2 to use their compressor to blow your floaties. We had 17 people and many rafts, so they made out like bandits from us. That said, we were grateful for the opportunity to use their launch point.
At the end one crew member asked to take my float on the first 2 steps coming out. This was after I came up from the water from going out the wrong way and it was slippery. Was not impressed.
loved this experience!!
Great way to spend the afternoon. Staff helpful and friendly.
Disgustingly horrible business ethics. Closed on a saturday? Excuse for their reason! DO not use them!! Massive warning. Use other methods to use the river. The canal was alot of fun but finding out they were closed we had to cab our way back to our vehicle. Very unprofessional
Very friendly and helpful!!
So went down the channel using some tubes from coyote cruises on tuesday with some friends from out of town. We were not very satisfied with the trip. I spoke with a employee (rex) and he was more than willing to make my experience a great one. He hooked us up with another ride down the channel and we used the boat they ha e I highly suggest using it. We had a blast. The service we got was amazing. Would highly recommend coyote cruises to all people. Will definitely be back and will be telling all my friends that' dont already know about this place to come and check it out.
Way to much drama !!!!
I love the place and with 25 people the experience was awesome !!!
We were appalled by the staff of coyote cruises tours preventing an elderly lady exiting the canal at half point and the staff telling her to use the grassy banks or dirt shore to exit. She was told the stairs were for customers of Coyote cruises tours exclusively. The woman did exit using the stairs holding her ground but the staff was very aggressive towards her verbally over and over. Shame on coyote cruises, shame on their staff and shame on their policies, thinking they can get away with bulling the public, and thinking that they alone control and own the PUBLIC Penticton canal.
I traveled from Montreal and had planned this as one of my big activities that I would do while in the Kelowna area. (I had done it before and enjoyed myself). I called this morning just after opening to see if pick up would be at the half way point or at the end. The recorded message said that they were open but only going to the halfway point. We hopped in the car and made the trip. We were excited to see all the tubes on the chanel as we crossed over. We excitedly skipped up to the building. It was closed! We drove all the way out there and they were closed! It was a disappointing experience.
Had a wonderful day crushing down the channel. Was a bit disappointed with the amount of beer cans and other items on the bottom though. Some people just dont give a damn about the environmental impact it has.Perhaps there needs to be some new conditions put in place.
Great way to spend an afternoon
100% worth it! Would definitely do this again ????
Very easy. Pay your 18 dollars, grab a floating device and float down the penticton channel. When you get to the end the bus is there to bring you back to your car!! Also if you have your own float you can pay a small fee to have it inflated!!
Take a drink, a relaxing way to spend the afternoon !!!
I booked a river float with Coyote on the 20th of August. We are not from the Okanagan and didn't realize there were ongoing fires in the area. Despite cancelling the morning of I was able to receive a refund a few days later. Wish I had been able to take the float but I appreciate the professionalism of the company and will definitely visit with them the next time I am in the area.
Great family activity - everyone had a lot of fun during the float. Reserved online before we arrived and they had the tubes ready for us to go. Smooth check-in process. The double tubes are great for families with little kids, to make sure the kids don't float away from you. The bus back was really convenient - they made sure everyone was spaced throughout and was wearing a mask. On busy days, make sure you arrive early because there is no dedicated parking lot and finding parking in this area is terrible.
The customer service was incredible. We rented an 8-person party island and had a blast on the channel. We did run into one small issue which was disappointing, and when texting Coyote Cruises they more than took care of us and validated our issue. It is so nice to be able to address a problem and not to be ridiculed or belittled by the providing company. Definitely recommend using them, and we will definitely be repeat customers!!
Always a fun time on the channel and bus!
Great activity. Try to organise without Coyote (own tubes and transportation). Awful organisation, wrong information on recorded phone message and again on posted signs.
If you live in BC, you must go here!!
Lovely day to float down a river. Well used water corridor with plenty of people taking it in. Ends close to two beaches if you aren't done with water fun. Both within walking distance. Busses seemed to run very regularly when we took it.
Very easy! Awesome time, staff was on the ball! Highly recommend
Absolutely SHOCKED and disgusted that the BUS DRIVER WASN’T WEARING A MASK. He was handing out masks for customers to wear on return bus ride back (most, but not all of which actually wore theirs) but the driver didn’t have anything in his face at all! Didn’t even try. All employees at the beginning of the trip we’re courteous and wore a mask but bus driver missed the memo that there’s a pandemic the last 1.5 years and interior health still has some of the province’s worst numbers. When the package includes a return bs ride I expect that ride to be safe. BS
Was awsome! You xan buy a bag for your phone fyi. So i didnt get pics cuz i was unaware. It was fun. Could touch bottom most of the way. Kids liked it
The staffs are at the end of the floating area so rude, unfriendly! You should be aware to stop properly otherwise they will be so mad with picking you and swear!
It was really awesome. Take your friends and enjoy with the float. you will definitely enjoy it. Life jacket is recommended. The cost of the float is 18 person including the bus ride to the starting point.
It wasn't very busy and it felt like a gong show. Everyone working here is very young and it seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. It took 20 minutes to get our tube when it should of taken 5 minutes. Everything else was good from the river channel float to the ride back on the bus.
Had an amazing day rafting. Staff is very friendly and helpful
I always bring my own floatie, sometimes they won't complain if you ask for a blast of air, but I always blow my own up. Then they make you give up your floatie at the half-way point if it's after 3 or something. Whatever, fine service if you need it, I never do.
Paid for some tubes and bus ride for myself and the family, go to get the tubes and they say "oh we're out, wait for the bus to come back and they'll have tubes".Ok fine we say and go wait...for an hour... and when the bus shows up finally there were maybe 5-10 tubes that got snapped up by some people saying they had a reservation. I wasn't about to wait another hour so we asked for our money back. Giving them 2 stars and not 1 because the girl behind the counter was accommodating on the refund. EDIT: I came back this year and gave them another chance, the experience was much better. The family and I had a great day on the channel.
It is a really nice place to go to it is really fun there I went there for a family vacation they all had fun so did I you should really go there with your friends are family to fav fan and get stress off your back
Was very unhappy with the price to fill a floaty that we brought from home. Two of us shared one floaty and were charged $15 to literally put air in plastic. The website says $5 and up however I didn’t expect to get charged and pay triple that price. Needless to say we’ll be bringing our own pump next time.
I've been down the Penticton channel at least once a year since the early 2000s. Although I've never rented from Coyote Cruises, I have used their services to inflate my tubes in the past and always found the staff to be friendly. The channel float time can vary widely depending on the strength and direction of the wind. Also if you feed the ducks, be prepared for them to follow you until they find another vessel willing to spare some chips ahoy.
Phoned in the morning to inquire about tube rentals and their recording said they are open 7 days a week 10am-5pm weather permitting, it was a beautiful sunner Okanagan day and it was 2:30pm when we arrived and the place was NOT OPEN. There were a lot of pissed off people including ourselves. We ended up having to spend another hour walking all the way down to the other end of the water front strip to find some tubes and it cost us $150 to buy tubes instead of renting them for $6 each like their website AND their recording states. The sales guy at the tube store said that it is ALWAYS like that at coyote cruises, they pick and choose when they feel like being open. Extremely bad business practice, so unreliable. I will never refer them to anyone and I will make sure to warn people when they're thinking of using them in the future.
Awesome service and great atmosphere. Definitely going back again
Perfect nice job
Excelent!!!! Fun in the sun nice relaxing day in the sun .... DONT FORGET SUNSCREEN !!!
So much fun to ride onto the floaty And encouraging to try coz it safe and lots of fun ????
Nice slow float! Great for a hot day!
Very good service, but the bus wait times are a bit long.
An extremely fun and an inexpensive way to enjoy a morning or afternoon, bring food, wine or beer, maybe a little boom box. Relax with your significant other or have a party with friends, great for both. Worth every penny! If you have your own floats you can purchase just a ticket back. We will be doing that next time!
Don’t take the bus. I waited forever for a bus to come even though their website says every 20 minutes. We’ve come every year since I was a kid, and the prices have gone up this year and service has gone down. They won’t even answer their phone. It is now $5/SEAT to fill up a floatie, so bring your own pump and maybe take a cab instead of the bus.
Didn’t enjoy the new floaties, very uncomfortable.. bring your own and cab it! Way cheaper and more comfortable.
Thank you Lauren and Cam for their kind hospitality and excellent explanations
Float by Okanagan channel - must have if you are in the area.
When renting an over $200 tube, we were told that the river will take about 2 hours to float. We were told that there will be 4 bridges. After 40 minutes, we were already at the 3rd bridge. We texted the number to ask if there’s a way we could float a second time, in which we were told no. There was a nice little beach that we noticed some swimmers stopped at, so we decided to pull out tube over and enjoy the water for a little bit. After 15 minutes, we got a text saying “Our quads saw you and some others stop your rafts at a beach and if you’re not back within 2.5 hours, we’re charging you double”. Awful way to communicate to paying customers. Between exaggerated float times and threats of double charging, this was just a poor customer experience.
We loved it so much! Great experience and will definitely come every time we visit BC.
Overpriced. No children rates. Really? $18 for renting the float and ride back. Service is not great, stuff is callous and careless.
Not bad place
My dad almost drowned going down the canal but a stranger from Quebec saved his life n must of been around 20's. My dad was born in 1955.
Awesome!!! Great day on the water
Good time, Easy float. The person putting us into the party Island didn't say anything but have a good float, no guidance as to what to do or where to go at the end of the river. Luckily, we knew someone from Penticton who's done the float, and told us to start to move to the right once we get to the third bridge. There are Three signs to tell you to get to the right at the end but you can easily get caught up in the float and not notice the signs. It's $18/person for a single or double tube which includes a bus ride back to the start once the float is done and floating unlimited. We rented a party Island for four, it was $100.00 for a one time float and the ride back to the bus, they were able to give us a deal for a second float but still a bit pricey. Overall, a good time!
Great for going down the Penticton channel usually 3hr u can get off earlier if u like there is a walking path along it
So much fun
Anyone from out if town should definitely check this out great way to waste a few hours
A must do while you're in Penticton
It was fine. Other than the fact there are no lockers to store your things, you have to buy their merchandise instead. We were told to get off mid way because of wind with no option for refund. Everyone working there is 13 and has no idea how to handle an emergency situation like the one I had to deal with myself. Slicing my foot open when I stepped into the water, requiring many stitches and time off work.
Getting a bit pricey these days
We booked this last minute and were pleased with how easy it was to show up, get our tube and hit the channel! It was about $35 for a double tube (two person) and we floated down the channel for a good three hours. So, well worth it! You can bring your own tube if you want and save on the rental cost. But it's nice that there's the option to rent various sized tubes. The water was very clean and there were no issues with it being crowded or bumping into other people despite it being quite a popular attraction. It's also nice that there is a mid-point pickup that's about 1.5 hours in so that if you're done with the river, you can get out and a bus will take you back to where you started. The first portion is very nice as you just float through the channel. You do eventually begin to float through the downtown which is less peaceful, but it's kind of fun to watch the cars pass and wave to them. This is a super family-friendly and cost effective activity. Oh, hot tip, there are portable washrooms on site, but they are owned by the city...which means there's a good chance there will be no toilet paper (like what happened to me) ....so....bring some of your own! ????
Bought my wristband for bus ride back to my car. Asked twice if the bus picks up at end was told yes. On website it says cost is $5 get there it's $10. As I got going faster than my husband I waited for him at half way point, at no time did anyone say this is where you should get out as the bus isn't going to the end. So we continued. As you can imagine when we got to end there was no bus no cars nothing. I was in a panic as we had no phone no money and no direction on which way to go. Thank goodness the native security came by and rescued us. I demanded my money back which they didn't want to refund told them I was calling police how can you take people's money without ever having any intention of picking us up. Their attitude was beyond terrible. Very poorly ran
Super fun!
No parking, no change rooms and no lockers. Overflowing outhouse is the only bathroom / change room. Float is too long- 3 hours in the hot sun gets really boring and uncomfortable. Bus ride back is nice, though. Driver was friendly and bus was clean and cool.
This is always a must every year we come to Penticton. Rentals are great and affordable, lots of different options. Affordable extras too like waterproof phone cases and dry bags which are very necessary and useful for the trip down the canal.
The river was a blast but don't waste your money renting a tube and using their bus. Way better off buying your own and using a cab. Same price and you don't have to wait in line plus you own your tube for future use.
Closed for the season.
We arrived right at 4pm. We needed our floats with air. There was still staff there, but they said they were closed even though they were just closing. We asked where we could get air and they rudely said they did not know despite us noticing after that there is a nearby home across from them who provide air for only $2 per float. I really disliked Coyotes horrible customer service. Will never ever try to use them. I don't recommend them. Staff is very cold, unfriendly, unhelpful and very rude. If I could give them a 0 star I definitely would. Use the people across from them with the sign that says air $2, great price and great service there.
Okay this is seriously the best time I've had in soooo long. BUT we were well prepared. We brought our own floaties, and we did securely tie an extra floaty to hold all of our beverages, dominoes pizza, sunscreen, paddles ect. While they don't recommend securing floaties together, we went on a Canada day and the water was quite high and moving quite fast. We (four adults) found it extremely easy to maneouver around the bridge pillers and not float into the lake at the end thanks to our paddles. We took the last bus back at the end of the day and it was great! the bus driver bumped some good tunes and we had a great time! We're already planning another trip, great way to spend and afternoon (We went twice it was only about an hour ride)
I have used this company in the past and generally have no issues. However in the face of a pandemic, this company is not keeping the safety of its customers in mind. We brought our own floaties but decided to use the bus as we were ensured that social distancing and extra cleaning was being done. The bus was completely packed, every seat was full, even beyond what I would consider “normal” capacity. We saw no extra cleaning however they did offer sanitizer and face masks and the lines to the bus were crammed. One of the staff members ran his hands down my arm as he was speaking to me and I felt awkward even without a pandemic occurring. Overall I will not be using them again.
We had such a great time! It went by very fast. I will be back again the next time we are out this way!
The tubing is a must do if your in the area. We took our own tubes and paid for a bus ride back. The wait for the bus was rediculas. We had to wait for 3 busses and almost witnessed a fist fight over people butting in line to get a bus instead of waiting at the back of the line. The old guy driving the bus kept saying that there was a second bus coming but it never came. He was back 3 times and he still said there was another bus coming lol. My advice would be to drop off your passengers and tubes and then park your vehicle at the finish and take the taxi back to the start. That way your vehicle is there as soon as you get out. There were a number of taxis around the day we floated. I personally will never use the bus service again unless the make some improvements. The tubing was awesome though!!
Great time on one of the four person tubes! Good service from the staff at the tube pickup, and the bus back was timely. I also really appreciated the ability to book online to reserve our tube and speed up the process.
My spouse and I had quite a terrifying experience on the “Coyote Cruise” River float in Penticton, BC. We used the double tube provided by the company.. by the time we passed the first bridge and hit the second brown “spray painted” bridge, our tube began to bubble and deflate.. we had to swim in a stronger then normal water current (Staff quoted at 1 hour & 15 minutes per float - normally around a 3 hour float). We are both in shape and were extremely concerned on how to safely exit the river bank which is full of cattails, weeds, rocks and potentially injuring surfaces.. we both had to walk back on a biking trail with one of us having bare feet under the assumption we would exit at a cement area which will not harm our feet at the end of the float.. we are both blistered and burnt from the walk back on our feet with the companies tube even though we swapped shoes with each other throughout the walk to avoid not injuring our feet too much.. I would HIGHLY SUGGEST not attempting this float if you have any children or are concerned for your safety.... I understand accidents happen and I am not sure what the lability of the company is, but the fact is the staff/manager did not handle the situation with ample concern and I will be seeking further opinions on our injuries. Please make sure you are safe and have a floatation device on hand if you are not a strong swimmer. Additionally, the company is NOT enforcing social distancing measures for guests on buses. We were given a 1/2 refund ($18) because we “already floated once and got a ride back” even though it’s advertised as an all day / unlimited float.. wasn’t going to argue with the manager as it’s not about the money and more about the principle and was not open to attempting to float again. We did inform the manager/ 2 seperate staff members about our burnt feet and said we walked back 1 1/2 km at least on pavement in +33 weather.. common sense. This whole problem could have been resolved if staff did a thorough quality check on the tubes and not just rush people out to get on the river. We sat in line for 4 minutes and did not see staff check the tubes that they were handing out once. Social distancing was not being enforced which is one of the requirements of the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Great initial service, great tubes, great float. NOT great social distancing standards: nobody truly enforcing spacing in the line up to get on shuttle (beware of groups of drunk people forgetting all about covid), and the shuttle bus was at 100% capacity, no one was asked to leave a seat, and no masks were offered. *Changed review from 2 stars to 1 just based on how rude the owner’s replies are on here ????
Awesome thanks to all the staff ????
Penticton Canal Cruise!! A must do if going to the Okanagan!
Great
Pretty solids, get there early! It's $5bucks to inflate 1 blow up tube or island. If you got the giant 1 it's worth it. Bring your own floaties just pay for the bus ride back 10bucks each.
Have always wanted to do this! Had a great time, weather was beautiful. Very efficient process, and super helpful staff.
The most fun experience I had in a long time we went to a Whistler we float and we almost drowned because of the wind got too high for us that we closely almost flipped but this one is amazing you know you're safe because it's shallow it's not too deep especially if you're not experienced swimmer
Bring your floaty and some drinks, then relax...
Great fun, well worth doing. Great company, extremely well organized, can’t wait to do it again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love floating the canal!!!
This is always a great time! Very relaxing! Was very easy to book online and fill out the waiver online! The young man at the online check-in desk was very courteous and polite! The ride back was great!
Not sure why people are complaining about protocols this company is doing a GREAT job. They're handing out masks going onto the bus, during the time I was there, everyone wore one. Due to the lake currents, it was really hard to keep right at the end so we almost got past the last bridge, so the staff saw us and saved us using a line. Even if we got past the bridge, there is a jet ski ready to come and grab us. They're a great company, really appreciate them!
fun times! great float
So much awesome. The staff at the end were great.
Had a fantastic time! Friendly Staff, great experience all around!!
Always a blast! Being able to have unlimited trips in a day is great for early in the season when the channel is quicker. The bus ride included is priceless. Even though you might book for a specific time you’ll still have to wait in line for a tube so get there early!
Always good times!
If you can save your money and do the float yourself, I would recommend skipping Coyote Cruises. They do not actually have quad floats, despite the advertisements. The day we floated they closed the last pick up spot, so they simply did not run the bus out. They did come and eventually pick the large group of people waiting, but it was about an hour and a half after getting off the water to getting back. When we asked about it, we were simply told they closed it due to weather. Poorly organized, No apology. Besides that, it it a bit pricy - $54 for 3 of us - I think I would DIY next time.
Wow wonderful
Great place lots of fun problem is the wait is long but worth it. Prices are good and well worth the experience.
Take a fun relaxing float down the channel for one hour half way point or approximately two hours full float to end your choice.
After reading some of the bad reviews on here we were worried about using their services especially on a long weekend when it would be busier than usual but we had a good experience. We booked for the 11am time and last minute decided to bring our own floats. They refunded us for the rentals. The lines for the rentals were long but we weren't aware that we had to deflate our own floats for the bus ride back. It meant we had to queue up to get them inflated and pay $5 to do it a second time. They didn't fill up the bus at all and they gave us face masks and hand sanitizer so we felt quite comfortable.
What a way to spend the day!! So relaxing ❤ note to self bring more drinks & snacks!!
They were very friendly and helpful
So slow and inconsistent, it's a free for all to get on the shuttle.
The new Covid Protocal is wonderful. Very organized and efficient. The new rental options are great. Staff is great. Soooo much fun!!!
Fun ride, but the bus was PACKED! Was offered hand sanitizer before entering, but nobody was wearing a mask besides the driver. Edit to add: this happened around 2:30pm on July 17. There were no masks. And most of the people we rode with were drunk and yelling/singing - very uncomfortable. Just being honest ????????
Amazing place. You can get a massive flamingo and go down in class lol
Fun experienced
Great time today. The staff were friendly and helpful
Tubing fun
Absolute must!!
Came down from Kamloops to float! We brought our tubes, as we do every year. We checked there website and phoned, both stating open and their hours of operation. (We did this because we get them to blow up our tubes) When we got there, with deflated tubes.. they were CLOSED... with a handwritten note on one tiny window... UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION!!! This is unfortunate for a lot of families. Quite sad.
Drove from Vancouver to do this today only to find it is closed for the season. I researched online and the first thing we came across said they would be open at 10 his morning. Even looked as far as booking tickets to make sure it was still open and there was nothing to indicate it would be closed. Doesn't seem too far fetched to think a seasonal business would be open on a gorgeous 22 degree day. Thanks for the wasted 4 hour drive
A little expensive but worth it for the relaxing drift down the river
Went to rent a floaty for our last day in penticton at 2:30pm and was told we couldn’t because they wanted to go home. Online it states open until 5pm yet three young boys laughed in our face and told us they wanted to go home. Very disappointed and will never try and use their service again.
CLOSED TILL THEY HAVE THE PROPER RIVER SAFETY COURSES! NO BUS SERVICE OR TIBE RENTAL
Had a great time
great service from booking online to obtaining our tube and then our return trip on the bus! A must to do when visiting Penticton. A great way to relax with family and friends
Great value tons of fun
