Applied for life insurance with Neil Whetham at this brokerage and I fully disclosed my health situation. He gave me a quote through Manulife but didn't disclose that it was, what I believe to be, essentially a teaser rate/bait and switch. Apprently, the initial price he gave was is based upon having no health problems at all, even though I had disclosed that I had an illness. He led me to believe that this price might slightly fluctuate, based upon Manulife's final review of my application. So I wasted a great deal of time meeting with him and finalizing the application. Then, at the last moment, he has the gumption to come back and say my policy is ready but there has been a "slight increase" in price. The "slight increase was an increase of 200%. I'm not sure if these sorts of practices are unique to him or this brokerage, or of the industry, but I have to say either way, I would avoid this broker like the plague. The funny thing is, I would likely had accepted the final price from the outset, if he had been upfront and told me. But I cannot accept the policy now because of what I believe to be sleazy sales tactics I have given this broker a 1 star review simply because Google does not allow zero stars.

My experience with Parry Sound Insurance has only ever been positive and pleasant. They’re a great company and very dedicated to their customers, hence we we’ve been with them for years. All the staff members are knowledgeable, honest and super helpful. Dave does an exceptional job making sure his customers are looked after!
