We had a wonderful stay-cation in Victoria for our anniversary day. A Day in Victoria provided us with a wonderful experience kayaking around Oak Bay. They offered a variety of options before we set out and matched the tour to what we wanted to do. We saw seals, stopped at a beach and on small island, and enjoyed the majestic beauty offered on the coast of Vancouver Island. Then to add to the experience, we were provided with some amazing pictures of our experience, taken by our tour guide Heike!

Had a very nice experience with the Kayak rentals! Good customer service, and the owners were very easy going and helpful. We were just looking for a fun activity while over in Victoria and it was well worth it. I will definitely be coming back :)

Did the Basic Kayak certification course. Good teacher, covered basic strokes and techniques. Learned how to hopefully not die if... when I fall out of a Kayak. Strongly recomme for beginners who don't know where to start. Will be looking into next level courses. Kayaking is fun yall!

My wife and I are intermediate/experienced paddlers and Brook was very accommodating in letting us start our 3 hour tour a bit earlier in the day. This was very helpful for us since we have somewhere to be that evening. Our paddle was fantastic and Brook was an excellent guide being very knowledgeable about the area. Best outing in Victoria, the guide Brook is awesome, so friendly and personable. We had a great 3 hour tour would highly recommend to choose this outfit. We even got up close to the seals sunning themselves.

Brook set my partner and I up with a great double kayak and all the gear we needed for an adventure. He made sure that we were comfortable with the gear and how to use it. He showed us a marine chart, giving us tips and route options for how to spend our time. We chose to explore Trial Island which is quite close to our launch site at Kitty Islet. It was a magical day. Thank you Brook and Heike for a great day out so close to home!

Wonderful afternoon! We spent the afternoon in and around Oak Bay and saw a small seal colony. Our guide was fun, cordial, responsible and experienced. He told us many stories and the history of the area. I would book with A Day in Victoria again!

Fantastic morning! Even though the weather was a bit overcast we enjoyed a few hours on the water. I was very thankful for the skirts and wet bags for the cell phones, kept all of us dry.

My small group kayaking experience at beautiful McNeill Bay exceeded all expectations despite a rainy day. Brook is a patient, safety focussed and encouraging teacher with lots of experience and enthusiasm. I greatly appreciated his collection of neoprene too- nice not to have to rent. It was a perfect introduction to the sport and I can’t wait to get out on the water again. Highly recommended.

This is a family business and the owner was super friendly and patient, their equipments are very professional and clean. And they prepared other items we might need like phone bags & waterproof bags that you can put your personal belongings in it. Would recommend!

A day on the water in McNeill Bay learning the basic kayaking skills were great fun. The instruction was both effective and sympathetic, and all the class participants enjoyed the experience. I'll definitely be back for more!

Great experience! Tour guide took us around the harbour area, explained wild life and interesting stories about the islands around. The sea was very calm so we got to go through many islands. Recommended! **we went for the afternoon trip but the smoke from US made it looked like early morning

Did a 3 hour tour of Oak Bay and Trial Island with Brook (owner). He was extremely attentive and communicative and had all sorts of stories and abundant knowledge of the area and history. The 3 of us.had a fantastic time and would recommend heartily. They were accommodating to our schedule and abilities and frankly would have paid more than we did for the experience. 5+ stars

I took the 2-hour beginner class and was really happy with the instruction. I was a complete novice. By the end of the class, I was happily (and confidently) paddling around the Oak Bay marina. It was an excellent class! Highly recommended.

Our tour with Brook was absolutely awesome! He's an extremely friendly guy, and knows pretty much everything when it comes to kayaking, as well as the waters out and around Victoria. We were able to see many seals and a lot of wildlife up close and personal, so I can definitely recommend his Trial Island tour. For anyone who's never kayaked before, Brook places a lot emphasis on safety, and doesn't cut any corners when making sure that you're comfortable in your boat, and with the water conditions. 5/5, definitely check this one out if you're in the Victoria area, it can't be beat! Thanks for a great time Brook!

I booked the southern shoreline tour with my husband as a birthday surprise for my friend. The website was very user friendly and convenient. Waivers were sent online, so no fussing at the start of your tour. We absolutely loved every moment! We are from Victoria and it was such a pleasure to explore our own “back yard” from a different view. Seeing the wildlife in the quiet of their own space is very special. The seals are beautiful and very different to what you see in some of the more populated areas. Brook was very knowledgeable. None of us had really ever kayaked in open water before. Brook took things slow, giving lots of pointers until we were comfortable. If your visiting or you live here this is a must! Support a small local company and get outdoors!! My partner and I did the intro to kayaking course with Brook. It was easy to set up and he was flexible with timing. He made us feel comfortable even though it was a bit of a choppy day which was important to me as I have a healthy respect/fear of the ocean! We learnt some of the basic strokes, had some laughs and had lots of opportunity to practice. Would definitely recommend for someone looking to be more comfortable before venturing out on your own. Well worth it.

Whether you are just renting or looking for that extra assistance that a guide brings, A day in Victoria Kayaking will likely be an experience that leaves you wanting to return. The family who owns the business are very friendly and will go out of their way to connect with and accommodate you and your group. I recently booked a 5 person tour with about an hour and a halfs notice and was still provided with full gear + kayaks and water/snacks (which i forgot my own). I had a wonderful evening paddle with Brook, along the coast and around some islands where lots of seals came to visit. It was a perfect evening. Brook is very knowledgeable about the area, sea life, currents and tides, etc. Importantly, he's also very safety conscious. I would highly recommend a paddle with him!
