Would love to visit up there and get a tour. Thinking about coming in from Arkansas. My teenage boys and I are air plane model builders. We've always been fascinated by old planes. We currently have over 100 model planes built. Including bombers, fighter jets and big hualers and fire planes.

Has a great time visiting Buffalo Airways. I have been twice now and the staff is always welcoming. Mikey and Joe are super nice and always willing to talk to you and learn where you are from. It's great to see all the older DC-3's and C-46 airplanes. Great time!

After WWIII I was thinking that 0w50 synthetic motor oil along with xylene should allow for operation potentially -40 cold start, and no lead fouling. Rough numbers seemed to indicate 110 performance from Xylene. Similar price, and useful during fuel interruptions. During WWIII it would be helpful to have pure TEL on hand, and possibly use normal gasoline to get home. I also thought that boundary control tape could help with the C46 crashes to stabilize the airframe. Lookup vinyl window perf; similar surface geometry to a golf ball. The other option is to use two different engine oils for cold starting, or have an internal tank that is heated. Not sure about legality during war. If you changed your name the evil spirits of the first nations wouldn't have rights.

Family-owned northern business with the most interesting waiting room of all the airlines in the north. The owners and staff are most welcoming and accommodating. If you make any reasonable request politely, you are likely to be satisfied. I have been allowed to tour the hangar, photograph some of their classic cars and, best of all, photograph their DC-3 and other cool aircraft. Flights were on-time and uneventful. This airline does a lot for their communities in providing support for everything from charities to community emergencies. VERY happy to have had the pleasure of flying with them, though it has only been a few times.

(Translated) We flew to Hay River on the legendary DC 3. At the wheel, Buffalo Joe himself. After the flight there was an autograph and handshake. They're all very nice from Buffalo. It was a real experience that I don't want to miss. Yellowknife-Hay River and back is the only line connection that Buffalo flies. Otherwise they work in the cargo business and transport everything that can be transported by plane. (Original) Wir sind mit der legendären DC 3 nach Hay River geflogen. Am Steuer, Buffalo Joe persönlich. Nach dem Flug gab's noch ein Autogramm und Handschlag. Die sind alle sehr nett von Buffalo. Es war ein richtiges Erlebnis weiches ich nicht missen möchte. Yellowknife-Hay River und zurûck ist die einzige Linienverbindung die Buffalo fliegt. Ansonsten sind sie im Cargogeschäft tätig und transportieren alles was sich mit einem Flugzeug transportieren lâsst.

What's not to love. A rare place to find historical aircraft. A walk though the waiting room and hangar is like going through a museum. Tons of historical displays. It should be a must see destination to go to for aviation lovers.
