Trina and Perry are experienced and safe hosts. Their backcountry tour of Gros Morne gives you a personal view of this incredible and epic National Park that is unique. My wife and I took their tour with our 5, 8, and 13 year old kids and it was not only a fun and scenic visit to hard to see parts of the terrain, but it was a genuine glimpse into the lives of the wonderful people of Newfoundland. The highlight, after the ATV tour, was singing songs with our hosts and their family, while playing the spoons and the “ugly stick” on the deck of their own cabin...just amazing.

Had an amazing ATV experience with Perry on July 18, 2021 with 2 friends. Perry shared his immense knowledge of the area with us. Back at their cabin we were greeted by Trina and their son Scott. We were served tea, delicious face and eyes buns with the most delicious jams as well as partridgeberry pie. We were then entertained by Trina on the guitar. Trina showed us how to play the spoons and ugly sticks. It was such a memorable experience and would highly recommend it.

Since we were unable to do much hiking of our own, this ATV trip was a great way to see the back country of Gros Morne. We did not see any wildlife, but did see many varieties of flora, which Perry identified for me. He cheerfully answered our myriad of questions about certain aspects of Newfoundland life that had puzzled us, customs and way of life. He pointed out things of interest and told us a few stories as he drove us from forest up up to a treeless landscape with a view of the Gros Morne hills. Getting out to admire the 360 degree view we were struck with the absolute silence. Standing on a bed of soft moss and lichen, one feels as if one has to whisper, so as not to break the spell. It was a well-spent evening.

Best part of my trip, three months after a broken leg and my dad having little mobility, I was afraid we wouldn’t see much of Gros Morne but this tour was incredible! Don’t leave without visiting Perry and his family.
